Perfect Ponytail Hair Tutorial With & Without Hair Extensions

I once knew a boy just hello, my love's okay, so I had absolutely no idea that I had so many subscribers with super long hair. Many of you have been commenting on my videos saying how much you would love to put your long and thick hair up into a high ponytail, but complained that it's too heavy and makes your ponytails look droopy, really really that's what you're complaining about. If I had hair that was so thick and so long that it would make my head hurt and my ponytails look droopy, I would welcome the problem with open arms get at me baby and I hope that's your biggest genetic problem, because many of us would actually Love to have that problem and if you really can't stand your long and thick gorgeous hair, I will trade you that for my crooked nose, how about that guys? I'M totally joking, I hope, you're, not taking anything. I say seriously. I totally get the feels, so my natural hair is 17 inches long. So it's not super long, but it is quite thick. So when I pull my hair up into a ponytail, it is not that heavy, but it does tend to droop just a little bit, especially when I put clip in my hair extensions. Whenever I want to extend the length of my ponytail, I clip in a few wefts from my hair extensions set, and that makes my overall hair thicker and longer. And then, when I put my hair into a ponytail, then does it get heavy and really droopy. So I totally understand where you guys are coming from, and luckily I have some tips and tricks to take some of that weight off of your ponytail and off of your scalp, so that you can enjoy wearing your long and thick hair in a beautiful, gorgeous ponytail. Without any of the pain or the droop, so I'm going to show you how to create a perfect perky ponytail two ways. The first way, I'm going to show you using my natural hair and the second way, I'm going to show you using my clip in hair extensions, so the tricks I'm going to show you with my clip in hair extensions. You can apply also, if you have a long and thick hair, because these tricks will work just as well for you and if and if you have clip in hair extensions that you would like to use in ponytails, I'm going to show you exactly how to clip Them in to make sure that all your West left's stay perfectly concealed. So if you guys want to see how I create a perfect perky ponytail with and without hair extensions, please keep watching alright. So, first I'm going to show you guys how to create a perfect ponytail without extensions, and I find that creating a ponytail on hair that has some waves or curls or texture to it, works better because you can play around with the volume and use it to Your advantage, so the first thing I do is create volume wherever I want some extra oomph, so this is usually around the crown area and the area under my ponytail to do that. There are several options, but the quickest way to add volume to these areas is by gently teasing the crown area at the roots with a teasing brush. If you want more options that don't include teasing, I have a ponytail hair, hawk video. I did a few months ago with all of that and much much more. I will link it for you guys in the description box, so feel free to check that out after this tutorial, if you're interested. Ok. So now that I've created some volume, I'm going to separate my hair into two sections, a top section and a bottom section and clipping away the top section. So it's out of my way and then I'm positioning the bottom section so that the base of the ponytail will line up with my eye level. This is the most flattering angle to position a ponytail and it looks great on everyone. So go ahead and tie the ponytail with a strong hair elastic. If your hair is long and thick, you really want to make sure that you use a really strong and thick hair elastic to tie up your ponytails. Otherwise you won't have enough support holding it up. Next, I'm letting down my top section that I clipped away and I'm tying this section with another strong hair elastic with the ponytail I already created. So what this does is take some of the pressure off of the first elastic, so your ponytail is more secure and it doesn't droop from all of the weight so usually from my hair type. I find that this trick does the job perfectly, and then all I do from here is cover up the base of the ponytail, with a strand of hair, from the underside of my ponytail to secure the strand and keep it from moving and coming undone. I wrap the strand two times and then bring the strand under my ponytail, combine it with another small strand of hair from the underside of the ponytail, and then tie these two strands together with a small hair elastic that is transparent or the same color. As my hair to camouflage it and there you go a perfect voluminous perky ponytail without any hair extensions, so to create the perfect ponytail using clip-in hair extensions. I'M first separating all of my two clip and three clip webs from my fancy hair extension set. So that's six weft total, then I'm separating my hair across the top of my head and then clipping in one of the weft. So what you want to do is imagine that there is an imaginary line going from about the level of your eyes to the back of your head, where your ponytail is going to be positioned. So all of the weft so you're going to be clipping in above. That line you want to make sure that the clips are positioned downwards, so that when you collect the weft it up into the ponytail there, they will be lying flat against your head for all the weft that are going to be clipped and below that imaginary line. You want to make sure that the clips are positioned upwards so that when you collect those wefts into the ponytail, they will also be lying flat against your head. So I'm going ahead and clipping in the first three wefts with the clips position downwards and then, when I get to the back of my head and I pass the imaginary line, I'm going to start clipping in those weft in the opposite direction. So once I've clipped in all of my West, I'm going to create volume around the top and bottom of my head by gently teasing the roots. So now I'm just separating my hair into two sections, like I did before and tying the bottom section into a ponytail and positioning it at my eye level, with a good, strong, hair elastic. An issue I find with heavier hair is that sometimes it can flatten out the volume at the top by weighing it down. This can also cause pulling on your hair, which can hurt your scalp over time. So to prevent this from happening. I take the hair around the middle of my crown area and I tie it with a small elastic while positioning this hair in the same direction as my ponytail, so I'm essentially creating a mini ponytail and once I've done that, I'm just pulling out the hair. I tied a way to create a voluminous bubble, and this method of creating volume is not, is a lot more secure and will not affect the volume in the front of your ponytail. If it's too heavy, because it is a separate ponytail, then I'm taking the rest of my hair and I'm covering up the bubble with the hair in front and tying it together with the bottom ponytail. Then just like, before I'm taking a strand of hair from the underside of my ponytail and I'm wrapping it around the hair elastic to cover it up and then I'm securing it in place. Just like, I showed you with the ponytail without hair extensions. So, for me, this trick usually provides me with enough support for my ponytail when I use hair extensions, but for those of you that have heavier hair than this here is another tip, for you take a butterfly clip like this and try to get one. That is clear or similar to your hair, color and secure it right under the base of the ponytail to help take some of the pressure off of the hair elastics and it will keep your ponytail lifted.
