You can curl synthetic fiber in one of two ways., I'm going to show you the Hot Water Dip Method, and I'm also going to show you a steam method.. You will need your fiber some curling rods and it can be either the foam rods or you can use standard perm rods. If you're using perm rods, make sure they're the kind that don't have the nubs.. Those will grab the fiber and make it hard to remove.. I'M also going to be using some rubber bands to help me hold it to my rods. First thing: we're going to do is we're going to take some of that synthetic fiber and separate away from the bundle. Next, I'm going to rubber band it to the top.. It'S important to realize that with synthetic fiber, it's very literal.! So if you have any kinks or turns that you don't like on the rod, you WILL see them when it's done.. In order to do this, I'm just going to take the fiber and just simply wind. It down. Now I don't want a tight curl., So I'm going to do more of a spiral curl.. Ok, now what I mean with'literal ,' is wherever I put that rubber band there will be a kink mark.. So I know that by putting the band at the end, I'm going to have to cut that fiber away because there will be a line. Ok.. It'S that simple. Next we're just going to drop it into some freshly boiled water.. Since I don't want the kink at the top, I'm actually going to hold that out of the water., But everything else is getting saturated and it's getting very, very warm. Ok.. Now that that's really really hot I'm going to set that to the side and I'm going to wait until it's cool, then I'm going to unwrap it and show you the curl.. Now that we're nice and cool, we are ready to take it off the rod.. So you're going to start at the bottom., Remove the rubber band. And then just simply unwind it. Make sure that you're getting all of those hairs along the way.. If you have hair that doesn't want to come off the rod just simply snip it so that it doesn't hold you up., Because you don't want that to pull your curls apart. And there you have it A perfect synthetic spiral. Curl.. Another method is to use the steaming method. To begin the steamer method, you're going to wind it the same way that you did for the hot water method. Using the loop at the top we're just going to hook it over a hook. Then we're going to apply the steam heat. Rotating it around and using the steamer to get every tiny piece of that hair. By using a steamer. You have more control over how tightly wound your curls become.. So if you want a looser curl, you simply just don't steam it as much. By using the hot water boil method, you're going to come out with very tight literal curls. By using the steamer method. You have more control., But not everybody has access to a steamer.. So it's always good to have a back-up plan. Once this is cooled, we're going to go ahead and unwind it. Same story. If your hair gets caught up, you're just going to snip those fibers away, so they don't pull away from the curl. And you can see how the steam has created a softer curl than the hot water dip.. Now that you have both methods at your disposal, you can create curls quickly and easily for any of your pieces or wigs

Donna: Or ,you can get a flexie rod ,roll the ends of hair, and get a hand dryer, and blow dry it for less than 30 seconds...... and if you want it back straight ,you can just blow dry it straight, no comb necessary , much safer, and faster.

Taylor Nicole: THIS WAS SOOOO FREAKING HELPFUUUUUULL!!!! THANK YOOOOUUU!!!!

Chide lovesyou: nice one

beth olschowka: You could also tie a knot in the middle of the strand , then pin through the knot into the curler. Or: Put the pin into the curler, then fold the hair in half, place the loop over the pin and keep a bit of tension as you wrap (if you don't want a knot). Some tutorials use end papers to cover the ends (pinned in place). I didn't have end papers, so I used quartered coffee filters. They worked great! (They're meant to be in hot water after all) (Thanks for the tip, mom!) Both the pinning and the papers will keep the hair from having a dent in the ends.

Carmen Curillo: I just stumbled up this. These are nice ideas. Could you flat iron the hair before rolling, then dipping or steaming it?

lilly scoyne: Worked so fricken good thank you! Saved my mermaid costume

Sierra Henry: about how long did it take to cool with the boil method?

Krystal Kane: Do the sizes of the rods effect the outcome?

Maddie Gray: is the curl permanent or does it only last for a few hours?

Oshime Gbafe: The thing is I've been trying to make my own synthetic extensions for years but they don't come out right. The hair texture is always too hard and fake looking so what do you suggest?

Oshime Gbafe: Lovely video but I want to know can you use a flat iron if you don't have a steamer and you don't want to use the hot water method?

Grace and Marvellous wonders: Thank you so informative

NordicPhoenix: @DoctoredLocks... Question for you about the Shape Shifter Synthetic Fiber. I have a project in mind for this product. I want to create my own wefts with the Shape Shifter Fiber to eventually sew into one of my synthetic wigs. If I set the wefts into rollers or flexi-rods and seal them with a high wattage steamer, (like you do on your synthetic dreads)... How does that curl pattern then hold up over time? When I lightly soak/rinse the wig in COLD water down later on, will the shape shifter fiber go back to being completely straight? In your opinion, which one of the fibers you sell is the best for my application and project? Thanks!!

Emilicious: Just what have been looking for.nice video.

Onedia Fields: THAT STEAMER IS PRETTY NEAT.  I LIKE TIS METHOD BETTER GREAT VIDEO!

Mme.Tenebrae: I wanna make a Bride of Frankenstein-wig out of a weavy black wig with bangs, any tips on that?

Alexis Johnson: Thanks!!

JJstar: If I wanted to get thw hair back straight could i steam again? Would it have its flowy straight integrity?

Noel Thompson: Wouldn't the heat from the boiling water melt the hair

Melanie Braxton: I've read the comments asking about how long it lasts, and the replies have said it stays curled indefinitely. However, will the curl last through a high-intensity dance show where the performers get very sweaty and jump around a lot and toss their hair a lot, while performing 4 times a day in outdoor summer heat and humidity?

مراد النسيم سلمى: Amazing please tell me how to make flowers with synthetic hair.

evelyn jabule: Can I use conditioner

Brittany Reaves: What kind of steamer is that? where can I get one?

Paulalore ToroS: How to install this one? Please

Nappy Scribe: What is the name of the fiber companies use for braided wigs. They aren’t heavy like kanekalon braiding hair.

Queen Kelechi: How longs dose d curls last

chi chi chi: Too far away
