Easy Beach Waves With A Flat Iron Tutorial Updated 2020

Today’s hair tutorial is how to beach waves with a Flat Iron/Straightener. This is an updated, easier + quicker version of the beachy waves tutorial that I shared last summer. In this tutorial I show 2 ways to create this look with a straightener, as well as how to curl your hair to create a softer look. This is my favourite technique because these waves will last all day long and I think they look even better the second day.

I’d love if you left a comment and let me know which technique is your favourite.

Hello, everyone welcome back summer is finally here, so I was the perfect time to share with you my updated beachy mermaid waves tutorial. Now I had a lot of great feedback on my last beachy waves video. So I really think you're going to love how much quicker and easier if this technique is so, let's get started now. I got so many questions about hot tools and a hot tool recommendation, so I'm really excited because today's video is sponsored by Panasonic to share with you their nano e blow-dryer and hair straightener. Now the technology behind these products is so cool. I don't wanted to get my hands on them forever. So let me show you why so I just washed my hair. It was about time and I'm gon na go in blow dry with the Panasonic Nano II, a moisture infusion hairdryer. I love this matte black finish. I think it's so cool, and this comes with three Pro attachments, so you've got a concentrator nozzle. This is great for blowouts and it actually includes a diffuser as when you have to purchase these separately, but they're so handy to have. Even if you have straight hair, this can help create so much volume, but for today I'm going to use the quick dry nozzle. I love this one. It dries my hair so quickly, so just gon na go in and roughly blow-dry my hair, and this dryer has two speed settings and three heat settings. So it's really great for all hair types, but I'm going to be using the warm setting with high speed and that Nano, a technology that I mentioned earlier. It takes moisture from the air to penetrate your hair, which helps to strengthen and protect it against damage from everyday styling and brushing, and as someone who uses Hot Tools on their hair almost every single day. I really appreciate that, but I'm just going to finish it off with the cool shot to set the hair and prevent frizz. Okay, look at this. It leaves my hair, so soft and shiny, I didn't add any extra products, because I want to show you what this blow-dryer can do and this took about like five minutes. It saves me so much time and look at this so nice, but I like to you start with a straight base for beachy waves and if you have curly hair, you just go ahead. Straighten your hair or leave it natural for an even beach year. Look okay time for waves so for beach waves I like to use a straightener with one-inch ceramic plates like this Panasonic and nano II straightener. How beautiful is this? I love the matte black with the rose gold detailing super pretty, but this does have five heat settings. So I'm gon na be using a medium. He you, like 315 degrees. If this is your first time creating beach waves and we recommend using a lower heat, but this does go all the way up to 395. If you need it, and it only takes 30 seconds to heat up also, you can hear the nanotechnology it's like this little humming noise, it's really cool here. Can you hear it cool alright? So I would have had a section of my hair and I'm going to be working in like one to two inch sections and if you have shorter hair, probably just curl. All of this at once as a clip is straight. Are nice and close to your root, and you just want to twist the section towards your face in a C shape, is for two seconds and then twist your wrist. The other way creating another C shape away from your face and then just continue. This pattern down. The rest of your section, nice, and slowly and just trying to keep the iron moving as much as possible, there's our first wave. How nice is that, and it's so simple, especially once you get the hang of it, it's really quick! Alright! So let me show you again and this time I'm going to go the opposite direction, so I'm gon na place the straightener out my root and I'm gon na curl, the first one away from my face for about two seconds and then I'm gon na curl towards My face for about two seconds and just repeat now: I've used a lot of straighteners and the shape and feel of this. One really makes creating curls and Beach waves really easy because it has a nice curved shape, so there's no tugging or snagging and the hair. Just glides really over it look at these ways, they're, so soft and pretty especially once we start moving up our hair you'll really see it all come together, but try to resist touching them, so they can set and cool and I'm just going to switch to the Other side and I'm going to show you the method that I shared last year, because you might find it a bit easier. Okay, so similar to the other side we want to do is place your strainer and nice and close to the root and we're just going to curl it away from our face in st shape and then remove the straightener all right. So we have our C, and I just wan na place your straightener just below that C and curl it away from your face and take it off. So now we have like an s and Sam idea place it just below your last wave and curl in towards your face and then repeat all the way tum'. And if your hair has a hard time holding a curl, you could always add a mousse to help it hold alright, so there it is. This method I find, creates more of a defined wave, but it takes a lot longer verses. This one gives you a softer wave and it's weight faster and don't forget to alternate the direction you start with each section to help create even more volume. Look how pretty these are. So this is the exciting part when everything starts to come together, just going to unclip my hair section off my next section and let's move along anyone else, rocking the ombre. Look these days, considering just growing my hair out to its natural color, my niece. She has the most natural and, like perfect, dirty blonde hair with these highlights from playing outside. It looks so pretty so I'm considering just growing my hair out to its natural color and maybe rocking that look for a while. I don't know if you look at this. I feel like a mermaid, I told you that it would all start coming together the more removed up. So, if you're not happy with the way that your waves are turning out just stick with it, keep on going and it'll all come together. Alright, I'm going to unclip my hair, and I want to show you how I like to do different pieces. So for the front sections and the pieces framing your face, I think they look really pretty if you just curl them away from your face. It'S actually the first tutorial I ever posted on YouTube was how to curl your hair at the straightener. But it's easy just come way up onto your section and just twist away from your face all right and then I'm going to take the section beside my curl. I'M just going to wave it just a couple of times and then I'm going to incorporate in that curled section and continue weaving all the way down. And if you find a wall, you're waving your hair, that your straightener is kind of tugging on the sections you could just try to loosen at your grip a little bit and that should help it glide more easily. Look at this! This side is pretty much done. I was just like snap, my fingers and then this side would be done, but I'm gon na go ahead. Keep repeating that same pattern on the other side of my head and this flat iron also has that Nano II moisture infusing technology. So it draws moisture from the air and then it penetrates your hair and that's what gives these waves that really smooth shiny, look? Okay. I think this is the best wave. Yet this is a really good way and for the back sections you just want to bring them forward and just curl them the same I used to not do the back of my hair when I was in like grade 9, because I couldn't see it, but everyone Else can so definitely don't neglect the back and for my bangs same thing, I did on the other side, I'm just going to curl them away from my face and then I'm going to wave at the bottom of them into the section beside them. Okay, I love these and look at the bottom. Oh there's so nice. I feel like I'm right. Just gon na go in and just kind of shake them up a little bit and what I like to do is place my fingers on the edges of the curls. Come on up add some volume and you could always go in with some hairspray. If you need it so and there we have it. I wish I could wake up every day and just have my hair. Looking like this we're so funny. We always want the hair that we don't have, but I love these waves they last all day long and they even look better the second day, but these tools did such a great job at styling. My hair there's such great quality there, just like the Pro Tools that I've tried and if you're interested in them, you can shop them at target.com or amazon.com I'll put all the information in the description below, but that's it. I hope you liked today's video, if you did, please give it a thumbs up and I'll talk to you all soon. Bye,
