Straightening A Curly Beard With A Flat Iron

For all you guys with unruly, curly beards...try flat-ironing it. Just make sure you use heat protectant serum.
Hey everybody how's it going. You know a funny thing happened today in the grocery store. I met a friend with a beard and he was remarking on how curly his beard is and he wishes it was straight. Like mine said what can I do so? I started talking about product. I started talking about this. This is the secret okay. I don't do it all the time. A lot of bearded guys won't admit it, but especially your first year growing a beard out you looking like a bunch of pubic hair. You want to straighten it out, but before you just start using one of these flat irons, you want to look into heat, protecting theorem, okay, so this one is straightening serum. You need them at any of the beauty supply shop and basically you just want to see that it protects when you're using flat iron. So I got kind of couple days of post shower frizz going on so watch. I'M just going to take now I'm using a bunch of the absolute beard, just rub it between your hands and then I'm going to be looking over here is my mirrors over here. So you want to run it through the beard and then brush it through yeah. I use a brush, not a fancy brush just a brush, and you want to get all of that serum through the beard the serum was going to protect the hair from the heat. If you got snarled, take your time, look. Take your time. Work from the bottom up. Take your time see. I got some models. The only way to manage a curly beard is take your time, okay, so now kind of like some that off pretty greasy pretty silicone II. So this is a Revlon flat iron. I don't know how much it costs, probably less than $ 20 at Walmart, and I've got it set on medium, that's 1/10. So what you're going to do is grab about like that much here and now, just close to the face. Slowly, work your way down the hair just once just once. Okay now, for me, I put it behind my back, but you might need to pin it up, get it out of the way somehow and then just keep doing no more than about that. At a time you don't want to do those while your hair is wet, because the steam will damage the hair okay, and I'm just going to keep just going to keep working this down the hair, nice and slow until I get through the whole beard. When you get underneath your chin, just do a little bit just a little bit like that, then pulled that aside work your way through the layers through the different layers. Now again my beard kind of long: if you got a short beard, it'll go a lot faster and you can go slow. You can go slow watch. You can go like this all right. I might speed up the rest of this video. I'M just going to finish up. I did the final part just getting the mustache sides of the mustache and getting these little short hairs come up close to the skin, but don't burn yourself. I'Ve done that a couple times then. Finally, under the chin, under the lip. Okay, let's see what it looks like now, I'll brush it out. Do it feels matter feels way better, all right, nice and straight, not as kinky as it was all right. What do you think? I think I just gained about 3 extra inches, so that is how you straighten your beard with a flat iron, don't be embarrassed. It'S not girly masculine, please, hair! All right! Good! Let grow in your beard!

pteranodons had rounded wing tips ・。・.: A little suggestion coming from a stylist - If you want an even smoother look to your beard when ironing it, I recommend using a sectioning comb, or close toothed comb, and combing the hair in front of the iron as you go. This reduces any curl or oopsies you may have, and gives a much more groomed and straight finish! It *does* take practice though, and remember, plastic combs will melt if you have them too close to a hot tool.

09mjeternity: In order to get it silky straight you have the add some beard butter while while the beard is wet and blow dry it out with a brush, then flat iron.

SandyRiverBlue: Curly beard hair looks more masculine but I can see a need for straightening. A friend of mine started straightening his beard when he took on a role as an extra for one of these period movies where they had to pleat his beard. It adds a little length and makes it easier to braid.

Rosalba Camargo: Hi, that Revlon iron is a huge No No.. It will ruin your beard hair... even if you put heat protection in it... Its a cheap Iron, I know you just want to get those kinks out, but I would suggest getting a 1/2inch " digital ceramic iron" a bit more expensive like 15-25 dollars so you can set a temp, with the iron you are using you cant.. and it will go really hot thus burning your hair.. using heat will always damage your hair, but with a digital ceramic iron you know how hot you want it... you wont have to give it so many passes and adds a healthy shine it should be a one and done type of thing... also the best product I found for heat protection is a orange bottle its by BTZ "beyond the zone" heat protection spray also a bit pricey, its like 10.00dllrs but well worth it, your beard will thank you. oh and you wont have so many split ends... hope this helps...
