Jocelyn McClellan: What's up my dear., How are you I'm so excited for this tutorial for you with using the Le Duo.? Now I will have to say through this video you're going to hear me, call it the Le curl the whole time.. I don't know what I was smoking.. It'S called the Le Duo because you can do two things with it.. You can straighten your hair or you can curl your hair., And this is the coolest hair tool. Check out how I got these awesome. Curls right now., This hair tool is different, but you're going to love it. All right, we're going to start this puppy off and I'm going to teach you a couple of things. While I get prepped and ready. Now, the Le curl is a little bit different than what people are used. To.. It has a fan., It can be used as a flat iron. It can be used to curl., And the biggest importance to me for this tool is the fact that, if someone is having a hard time taking a flat iron and knowing how to use it as a curl, this acts as a really good guide. Because it's rounded, like a curling iron or a wand would be. The first thing you want to do with your Le curl. Is you are going to turn on the power button and hold it in.? As you see, it's only on that little guy right, there. You're going to keep tapping it until it gets to the heat level that is desired for you. Now. One thing that I have noticed with this tool is that I use 390 for my wands, but with this tool I use 360.. How I knew that is, I kind of noticed it stuck a little bit more. I didn't glide through as easy., So I went down. First and I tested it with a lower heat setting and it worked really well.. If I needed to go up one, I could, but it's always not, that you need to go hotter. You might need to be going a little bit lower. And I just figured that out and it's almost heating up - and I will know when it's heated up, because a fan is going to turn on.. So this should be any minute. Now. Holy crap right on cue.. That was good.. I said any minute now and like magic. It popped on.. So if you can hear that tool, mic testing, 1 2 1 2. Hear my fan. Just kidding., But that's what it sounds: like. All right.. So we're going to start this puppy out. And I always go to the underneath. Before I get started. I want to tell you really quick, because this is the number one question I get. The number one question that I get all the time is: what do I do with my hair before I blow dry Honey, buns okay., Let me be real with you. When you're Wanting a curl - and you don't do anything to your hair before you start. How successful is it going to be It's going to be crazy? Soft., It's going to be limp., It's not going to have texture.. Nothing like that. Textures needed protection is needed, volume is needed., So I am obsessed with the Glaze Hair Lotion.. This is my favorite thing.. I have extras on hand., Like I love this. Glaze, Hair Lotion, first. Okay.. I don't even brush out my hair before I do. This. It works so good. Whip. Excuse me, whip moose is the number one. Here's your volume.. This is protection from heat and all that jazz and healing the hair, taking care of the hair whip moose and then for texture, salt and sea spray.. So that's all I put in my hair before I start. It's so easy. Okay. And then I blow dry., All right., So we're ready to curl and this can be a very fast procedure. Okay.. So I'm just going to come through here and remember when you go nice and slow, the more curl that you get., The faster the movement, the less curl that you're going to get.. So if I'm trying to come in here really quickly I'll get less of a curl.. So if I want a stronger curl, I'm going to come in a little bit slower and there it goes. Okay. - And this is with that hair product in my hair. Now remember too, you want cleaner pieces, because this is a flat iron that it's going through.. If you don't have really clean pieces, it's not going to work as well too., But this is easier for me to just glide things through, especially for those hands that struggle with flatirons. Okay. We'll do this side.. This is my awkward side. And my curls never stay the same. Ooh. I did pretty good. Pretty good., Pretty good. Okay. Come around. All right., And then we go to the next rows.. This is a pretty cool hair tool.. Now, why is there a fan? The fan is there because, anytime with even blow drying the amazing Le Volume, which is my very favorite hair tool, that's a heated like a blow dryer, but a round brush at the same time., Anytime, you're, opening up that cuticle with the blow drying process. You want to close it back off., So the fan helps chill the hair just a little bit more.. Oh I just accidentally bumped that. Oops, I'm pushing the wrong buttons.. Sorry fan. Its like moody.. It'S only moody because I'm pushing the wrong buttons.. I accidentally hit 390.. So I'm keeping it at 360. And I can tell. It starts to stick a little bit more. And that's how I could tell that I'd knocked it. Okay.. So we keep coming., I'm going to come up higher to get volume up higher., But that fan is what is needed to kind of cool it down and allow the hair to keep its curl where it's at., So it just helps.. It makes a huge difference.. Have you ever gone to the stylist and they're curling your hair, especially for an event, and they go and pin it or they keep it in this position for as long as they can. They kind of bounce it they spray it with hairspray, but they keep it In that position longer it's so that it has the memory of the curl while it's hot. And that's why they pay attention to those little details when you go get it done and look at this difference. When you're holding it there as it's cooling, it's going to Make a difference when it comes back down.. So that is why we want to have the fan and use the fan.. If you don't want the fan, don't use it., But that's why it's there. Okay., I'm going to continue to go a round and I'll see you here in a second. All right. We're on to this next row. We're getting closer up to the top.. So I'm going to come closer up to the top to create that lift and that volume.. But this is my front piece and I actually don't like to do that in the very very front.. So I'm actually going to do the second one first and I'm going to create that lift and volume up here and then work my way round and round.. Look at that curl., It's so good. And we got that little bit more volume. See the difference in the two, Because this is what's matted to my head and this one has a little bit more lift. But my front pieces. I don't like to come all the way to the top with them., So I am going about mid shaft and come all the way through like so. Okay., And then we will come in here.. Look at that., It's so good.! Now this one has a little bit more curl to the end than what I like, because I do like my ends straight.. So I'm just going to the joy of having it with a flat iron to straighten out that end. And then this last piece come up. Create the lift and follow all the way through., So good. Okay., I'm going to do this other side. Real, quick, like and I'll, see you again in one sec.. The hardest part now is deciding where you want your part.. Do I want it down the center or do I want it kind of to the side, So I'm going to do mine kind of do the side today. But decide where you want your part, because that makes a difference for you to do it before you start Things out. I'm going to do this section and then I'm going to take that side over. Now. One question that you may have too is: how am I holding onto this? Am I pushing it down hard? Am I kind of holding it loosely on it, And it's truly just a like my hands there, but it's guiding itself through it.. The only way I would ever kind of lift it up a bit is if it didn't glide exactly how I wanted it through., And then I would just barely lift that end., But my hand is truly just sitting there.. I could truly it just feels better. Holding on to the handle, but I could go all the way down without even holding on to this little thing.. It just your hand likes to do it., And I think that's why this is so different, honestly than a flat iron, because it's this versus this, and it's just easier on that hand.. I don't know why it plays such a role, but those darn thumbs. All right. We'Re going to finish this out., I love this hair tool though.. I can't even begin to say it. We're going to finish this out. Coming over onto this side and I'm going to make sure that this goes through nice and soft. And I'm going to come all the way up and around.. And then this one, since it is in the front, I'm going to do this one mid way., So not all the way up. Right. Like so. Okay., And I believe I got all my pieces. All right., I'm going to show you the final product. Okay.. The next thing we're going to do is I take this stuff, a oil., So it's a light oil. So make sure it's not a heavy oil, but it's a light oil so that my hands don't stick to my hair.. It makes all the world of difference.. If you want to skip this step, skip this step, be my guest., But it really is a key tip for you that I like., So I just spray it on my hands. And then as I go through. I just come through these curls and I loosen them. Up., If you really want to make it a looser curl, go through with a brush and then they're a lot looser., But these curls are going to last me for sure today and tomorrow and be good to go.. So I'll do this other side and my back. When I do use a brush, it isn't like full., It's just a little. All right.. Now I can take the salt and spray to create texture.. I can do a pomade.. I can do whatever I want.. So I'm going to take this texture and add this little bit of spray., Because I don't want it to get too wet. Right. That doesn't do anybody any good. Okay.. So I'm going to do a pomade use whatever kind you like.. I like this one because it I can go to my root and it's kind of like a gel but way stronger., But I can even go into the root and create these pieces.. But now look at that buildup, that's happening.! All right., I'm going to finish just piecing these little pieces out getting rid of all the flyaways and I'll be right back.. This is it. Okay.. Here you go. Here's these curls. Boom boom.. All with that one and only L'ange hair tool right there., I love it.. I might be an affiliate with them, but it started out as me as a customer and fell in love., And then I don't know how I discovered my three favorite things.. That was magic, but it happened., But here are the curls. Short hair can be so fun and sassy. Create the curls that you want.. The look that you want.. If you want to straighten your hair, if you want to curl your hair, if you want to have looser, curls or tighter curls, that's just all going to depend on your technique., So rock it out..
