Ruby'S got gorgeous curly hair and we're going to show the people how to do a gorgeous short curly soundtrack. What happened to get the stunning hair like this so far like today like when? Did you wash it last? What did you put in it? I washed it yesterday morning got it and then you put in just like leave-in conditioner, your hair looks great. I do feel. Like you know, shorter curly hair usually needs a little jojo on day two, so i'm gon na show you how to use jb and hair products and get it together. So, let's picture it, you just woke up. You'Re made a cup full of ambition and your tumble into the kitchen dolly would say so. You can just like stick your head under the sink. You can take a shower. You don't necessarily need to wash. You can definitely just mist it, so i'm gon na mist. It with my trusty little spray bottle, but what you could do is you could put like a little bit of jv and hair conditioner in here and make a little um water with conditioner in it, make your own like little leave-in conditioner, which is great for curly Hair yeah, so you can see i'm just really working some water all the way through her hair you're a little blondie. I am naturally hello. Well, it was green. It was a lot of colors, i'm a hair stylist. You are yeah, so you know the pain, yeah, bleach and tone. I did it the first few times on my own, which was like a two-day process because i'd miss a patch like you know, there's the one spot on like the top of your head like right. Here see, yeah and so i'd see like an orange dot eventually and then i'd have to like go back night hair, queen yeah, okay, but like more power to you for being adventurous yeah. So you do want to make sure that you get it like pretty wet. We like to start over, like kind of start from a wet canvas. Why is that? Because i mean on curly hair, especially so there's two types of bonds in our hair: there's hydrogen bonds and then sulfur bonds and the hydrogen bonds are what we're talking about when we're styling the hair. Sulfur bonds are what gets affected when you color or chemically treat the hair. So it's good to just like reset the bonds and kind of tell everyone like hey we're doing something different today right. So especially for this, like short curly hair um, i mean you could like do other things, but i feel like it's nice, especially on like day two to like do a little bit of a less is more so. The first thing i'm going to put on is instant recovery serum. This has our gorgeous hemi swallowing it has charged lemon protein. It has niacinamide, so it's going to give her hair antioxidant protection. It'S also going to help to repel frizz um, and what i'm going to do is i'm going to kind of put this on section by section and you can see if you turn your head to the side, so i just applied it here now, i'm going to Apply here so i just come in with my fingers and the sections: don't have to be absolutely perfect. Um, you just want to make sure that you're really getting the product all over the hair and then what you can do when you finish the section is you can just kind of comb it through and then how do you want to style your hair today, um? I just like it as curly as possible. Yes, good answer and what the instant recovery serum does it's. Not only is it going to protect our hair from heat, but it's also going to balance out the porosity of her hair because, as we were talking about earlier, there's a bleach and tone in here - we had to do several colors to kind of balance it out And what that does, even on short hair, it's going to create lots of different levels of porosity, which is like how much moisture the hair can suck in, because these ends have been through more color treatments. We really need to balance that whole hair in order to ensure a nice, even curl, that's going to last a long time, and even if you didn't have a bleach and tone the sun does the same thing to your hair. That bleach does, but just slower your ends are always going to be drier. They'Re always going to have like been on your head, the longest more so than your new growth. So you always want to put product on the hair to kind of balance. Everything out from the get-go now look, you could just take a big old slop of this, and just like do what i call the tarzan approach like take a scoop rub it around then put it everywhere. Then comb it through. That is like the results aren't going to be like super duper, duper different, but i just i like going through section by section, because i think that it's nice to really like i don't know i just i kind of like it but they're both gon na give You very similar results, if you don't really ever use anything to distribute the product throughout your hair. It'S gon na be uneven, so you need something to make sure that all the hair is getting that little drink of water that it needs. Now. Some people will be like, oh, but my hairdresser said to never comb curly hair. That'S dry, we're talking about dry when it's wet it's fine, so i really just did about this much kind of per section, because i went through section by section now you can see in the front how her hair is already starting to curl from just the hydration Of that hemi squalene, which is so nice so now there are like a million and one ways that we could do her hair. I think i want to show just like kind of an easy, breezy quick way to do curls, so i'm gon na open up our air dry cream link in the description and we need to know as an update jared on this video. Have you been recognized yet from your like every so often cameos, since we recorded last, i did have someone that i grew up me the with and say well that was a surprise to see when i did the outro so you're getting you're getting recognized on the Internet, but not in real life, yet okay, don't rain! What'S the acronym for that all so long em, let's not to cut you off to your bear, because this is really important to me and you know that it has the air dry cream. I just put some on my little hand, and then that way you don't have to like go in and out of the bottle every two seconds. So i'm just working my way distributing this throughout the hair. If you want to enhance the curl, which we did mention that we wanted to do, you can do this little thing where you just twist up, you take a little bit of air dry cream, you twist it it's a really fun way to emphasize the curl. On short curly hair and then we're going to diffuse it, the tinier sections you use the curlier, you can do kind of bigger sections if you don't totally want it. The other thing is, is that i typically on hair like yours like when i have short curly hair. I don't love to see like a ton of volume over here on the side, it's more of the top in the front when we get the volume on the sides. It'S like. We start to give golden girls and i love the golden girls, but it's like we just don't really want a lot of like puffiness on the sides. So that's why you're noticing i'm not really doing this technique to the sides, i'm kind of leaving it a little bit flatter because i'm not trying to make that hair like way bigger. But i do want to create some texture throughout the top of this hair. Okay, so i'm just finishing that up these little finger, curls, i'm gon na - do some in the back doing those little twisties and see how i'm brickling it. I put two here and now i'm doing one in the middle and if you're doing this to yourself. It'S obviously a little bit harder, but you can just kind of use your hands to feel around okay. So now i'm going to leave that alone, i'm going to take a little bit more air dry cream and i'm going to apply this air dry cream to the sides right here to ensure that i keep that volume down. So i'm just literally putting air dry cream on top of her sides. I'M gon na take this little comb and i'm just gon na comb it throughout her hair and that's just gon na give her a little bit of definition. You could take this front. You can do like really, whatever you want to do. Little curls, give it a little 20s vibe finger, curl it whatever you want to do. You can tuck it, and this literally can be done in like a total of like five minutes. It does not have to take long to be good if you got out of the shower and didn't do anything it. A little bit depends on what shampoo and conditioner you're using if you're, using jb and hair. It'S going to be a little bit better than if you weren't, because we already have our hemi squalene and we have there's just a lot of really nice humectant, moisturizing properties across all of our shampoos and conditioners. It'S going to help. But if you're not using a great shampoo and conditioner it's going to leave you a little bit puffy you're not going to be able to control your haircut. It'S gon na frizz um and it just won't be like reliable. It'S not gon na, like look the same way all day, so this is the set now she does not have to do anything if she didn't want to. If you there's this, one other cool little trick where you can take a little clip like this, and you can kind of clip it to the root to that's going to give a little bit of lift and it'll kind of like define some of the texture and You'Re going to again notice that i'm going to put these in a little bit of like a bricklay sort of way any place where you want to see a little bit more volume. Just stick this in. We grab our diffuser and we diffuse i'm going to do high heat medium pressure. You can do a little bit more heat and more airflow when you really have that hair prepped with the products, and it also is not going to feel crunchy on her all these products are going to absorb really really quickly so for this hair. If someone had like a 3a to like a 4c, i would actually do it. Similarly, but i might use clips to really make sure that i'm getting the product all the way up to the root and really making sure that i'm evenly saturating all those sections, because the hair is going to be tighter oilier. So you want when the hair isn't. Quite as dense and thick, you can kind of just freehand it. How i did it like it's universal, no matter what your hair type is, the smaller sections you do like a pearls, it's going to come out, curlier the bigger sections. It'S going to be like a little bit less curly, so if you want, if you have naturally curly hair - and you want to make it curlier do smaller sections, if you have naturally curly hair and you want it to be not quite as tight do bigger sections! I'M just showing you how i'm doing this, i'm not really getting in there and disturbing her hair a lot you're just keeping the diffuser, letting it do its thing as it gets a little dryer you're going to see i'm going to come in and i'm going to Lift up her roots with the with these little prongs. This is drying up, so pretty and smells good. Oh, it does keep talking dirty to us, so ruby is also a hair stylist. What questions do you get from your curly? Haired clients? A lot a lot of it is about like styling, and most people want to grow it out, but they have issues with like dry ends, and things like that, so dry ends is like really about. It is about what happens in the shower, but it's also a lot of what happens out of the shower. Don'T you feel like ruby? It'S like we have to give the hair some like love and some good ingredients a lot of times when people are like. Oh, i hate product, it weighs my hair down or it does xyz. Usually, that is because those products had silicones in it and they build up on the outside of the hair, shaft they're not able to penetrate and get to the issue of. What'S going on in your hair, so i'm going to start to take these clips out now. What i'm going to start to do is actually come in on the root and start to kind of create some lift with the diffuser, and actually i'm going to stick these little tongs like down into the hair. Thank you. I'M just going to create a little bit of lift on the top of this as i just use. Oh, it looks so good, and now you can start to use your fingers a little bit to just kind of start to move it around. It'S! Okay, if you see like a little bit of frizz and natural curly hair, it's like frizz is not our enemy. It'S a part of what makes our hair beautiful. So if you notice a little bit, that's okay, that's just texture! It doesn't have to be like. I like, at least in my hair, i like it when there's a little bit of movement and i basically have her hair like 97 dry, like it's really pretty dry and when you're doing natural curls, you don't have to diffuse it to like bone 100 dry. But i like to get it like quite dry, so now i'm just taking a little bit of oil just so you guys can see about that much. I'M just gon na massage this through and break up her waves a little bit, and this is just going to give shine touchability. How does it feel right and then i'm going to go back with my diffuser and i love the shape on her? How the sides aren't popping out on us, but we have this great volume on the top and in the back now i'm going to come back through with a little bit more of our nourishing shine drops. This is going to help her color to stay healthy. It has hibiscus extract, so it's going to help to keep her hair healthy, keep also give her some uv protection. So it's going to help up from fade.
