Hey guys welcome back to face of a matter it's jaylen here and today i'm gon na give you a hair tutorial. I molded my hair last night and i just thought you know. Maybe this is the perfect time i should go ahead and do this hair tutorial. That i've been promising you guys for a little while now so um, if you're interested in what i molded my hair with i molded my hair down right after i washed it. I just kind of styled it just because i used the olive oil wraps that mousse. This is like the phone. This is by ors, i'm not even sure that stands for, but it's in this green bottle. You can get it at your local drugstores, like cvs, walgreens walmart target anything that really sells hair products or especially sally's, i'm pretty sure they have it um. Usually i would use one from like my professional uh hairstylist sometimes should give me hair mousse, i'm not even sure what it's called, but i use this one because since i have color in my hair now it has the olive oil. So i just wanted to put something on it that would keep my hair really moisturized, so my hair is really really soft right now, it's nice and soft and it's not feeling dry at all, which is a good thing. So since i have this bleach and stuff right here, i don't want that to dry out and break off this. Basically, if you have regular bobby pins, just grab you some bobby pins, i'm gon na grab these uh section and set secure, hold rust proof wave clips. I'M not even sure if i'm gon na end up using these clips, but we'll see just get you some combs. I got this regular comb. This really skinny comb. They both have little tails on the end, and then i have this big divider comb right here. So when i have my big curls, i can you know fluff them out some hair oil, i'm using the light drops from straight request. This is like the purpley grapey smell. They smell, really good in the same flat iron that i always use. This is the ion titanium, platinum, flat iron from sally's. So it's by ion it's it's awesome. I love this flat iron and it's nice. It'S the perfect size to curl short hair um. You don't want something really big! Then you won't be able to get the really precise curls that you want, but just get something. That'S a nice size. You know that can really get those tight curls that we want and just get you like, a hair wrap. Just in case. You want to wrap your hair afterwards afterwards, like i'm gon na do so. I just use these little claw things that i got from the beach and yeah. So let's go ahead and jump right into it. The first one i'm gon na do is i'm just gon na start out by combing my hair, i still haven't decided how or what kind of style i wanted to do with my hair just yet. I know i wanted some i want. I know i kind of want something curly over here. I want to comb up the set everything's in place, so you're going to be ready to curl. So i guess i'm just going to shoot for some basic curls just to show you guys in general how i curl my hair. So i'm going to take i'm going to take a couple of these little wave clips that i got and i'm just going to section my hair off. Let'S see, i'm just going to section it off just kind of divide, it make sure it's kind of even with the other side. It should be even enough, then, i'm just going to twist this up for right now, just to get this out of the way, because we're going to curl that absolutely last for the size. I just like my curls coming towards my face. So what i'm going to do is just take a piece, since this side is short, i'm just going to go ahead and show you the short side and take your flat iron and when you curl, curl, under and towards your face. Whichever way you want the hair to go so curl under and towards my face, so the curls can just kind of have like a flowy effect to them. So if you're ever trying to pin curl your hair, what you want to do is take your bobby pin and take the hair and twist it towards your face. So just like that, you want the curls to flow exactly where you want them. So, however, you're pinning them is how they're going to be once you take them out. So if you want the hair coming, this way, pin them that way, so just want to take a piece, and since we want the hair coming towards our face, curl under and towards our face, so basically all over. This is what you're going to be doing with the hair, so all over. So since the back is pretty short, i can't do, but so much curling back there other than just kind of run, the flat iron over it and flat it out, but um other than that you just want to curl the entire head. So i'm just going to do that really quick and then we're going to curl the top, and this is where we're going to get fun with the hair. Okay get to these spots right here. You don't really have to pin these since these parts are so much shorter. So what you want to do is just take a comb and just kind of run through the part you want to curl and then just curl it and go like. I said if your hair is longer on these sides, like my hair used to be, then you can curl and pin curl and pin, but since these are so much shorter, i'm just going to curl and go so here. If you have one of those thick cones, you just want to take it and just kind of comb, the hair frontward. So this is where you're going to get most of your body and your curl and style still from all right now that we have basically the curls going on we're going to go ahead and start curling, the top. So what you still want to do is section it off again just to kind of curl it in parts, because you want to curl what's under first, so i'm just going to cut it in half okay. So here what we want to do, i want my curls coming forward so and then with the curl, since all the hair is kind of coming forward, you want to kind of curl this side this way and this side that way. So what i'm going to do is cut it in half again with my comb, you can take a bobby pin or you can take one of these little clips that i'm using it doesn't even matter and just kind of clip it to the side, make sure it's Out of the way, so here what i'm going to do is take this and for this part, you're, probably going to want to bobby, pin them too so here, whichever way you want the hair to go, is where you curl it. So we want to take it to this side, so you want to make sure that it goes that way and as i get closer to the actual color of my hair, i'm going to cut down the temperature of the flat iron because i don't want it to Get too fragile and hard and then we're going to be having like hard fragile, broken pieces, and we definitely don't want that all right. So now we're heading to the other side, and you just want to curl the opposite way. I don't know. Oh, oh, i still want i don't time for the fun part. So now we're just gon na take all the clips out put some oil on our hands and just style, so i'm just gon na remove all these pins fun part. So you just want to put some oil on your hands just so your hair will have like a nice shine when you take it out and i'm just going to basically run my hands through it and just connect every piece of hair. This is where that wide cone comes into play, so some parts like back here that my fingers really can't run through that's where you can come through it and help blend the hair together. Now, if you need to go back and curl some pieces, of course you can do so, but yeah i tried the little finger waving thing here on the side. I did a little bit. I still got ta practice my own finger waving, but um yeah. So you just want to run through it comb it out. I use the end just to kind of run through all the hair up here in the front so yeah. I almost kind of call this, my elvis haircut, so you see right here. We have this part where we had our hair earlier, that come just kind of runs through it and just kind of blends all that hair together in that little area. So we won't see where that started. So, like all these little straight pieces, what you could do is take a flat iron and just kind of curl them into the hair with um everything else, so you won't have any like flyaways and all that stuff. So anytime you put like bleach or anything in your hair. You always want to make sure you keep that moisturized, so your hair won't start breaking off and falling out and all that stuff.
