Hello, everyone. This is laura welcome back to my channel, where i do unboxing videos, product reviews and um some travel lifestyle tips. So today's video will be a mix of unboxing, video and product review. If you've seen my previous videos, you will notice that my hair is a lot shorter than what it was before. Actually this is the shortest i've ever done and i'm really enjoying this short hair. However, as i'm drying, my hair i've run into some problems, as you can see here, because i have natural curls. If i don't style it correctly, it looks like this. Obviously, this is not optimal and that's when i realized that i really need a hair straightener. I haven't really straightened my hair. In almost a decade. I don't have a straightener in my disposal so while looking into straighteners the first thing that came to mind was the dyson hair, straightener um, i do own the dyson hair, dryer and the air wraps. Since i am familiar with the dyson hair tool, family, the coral is something i looked into right away in the beginning. I was a bit hesitant because of the price tag is 4.99 for a hair straightener, but while searching for this product, i actually found a best buy deal for 100 off. So, instead of the 4.99, this was 3.99, and that was something i could swallow so here we are with today's unboxing, and this is the packaging that it came in. It'S just a plain box. I already cut the tape open uh just for easy access, but okay, so the hair tool is wrapped in this dyson paper. Pretty neat. I think this is the hair straightener itself in a velvet tap. So this is what it looks like. This is a copper color. This is usually not a color i would go with. However, this was the only color that was on sale for all the other colors. It was a regular 4.99, since it's just a hair tool that i used at home. I really didn't mind: saving 100 bucks for a less desirable color and, as you can see it has these um tape on there and instruction. Oh, this is the first time i'm using this, and i haven't really watched any tutorials either so bear with me, as i figure this out - i'm not the most tech savvy and i'm quite clumsy, with my hands. So i got ta figure out how to work with this set the box, so the top layer was the strainer itself and the bottom. This is the first time i'm seeing this. I think this is the uh for the charging station yeah. So this in here is for the charging stand last layer is the charging cord first impressions? I am a bit disappointed in the presentation of this item because i do have the air wrap as well and the hair dryer, but i don't remember how the hair dryer came in because it was so long ago, but the air wrap does come in this. Like nice leather box um, so it is quite disappointing that this just came with plain paper packaging. Since i did pay a pretty penny for this, i was expecting something a little more to not have that well factor when unboxing such an expensive hair tool. But it doesn't bother me that much i mean it seems eco-friendly which i'm all for it, but i will take the rest of this video into the bathroom, where i will try to straighten my hair okay. So now we're in my bathroom and i've. Let all my hair down, as you can see, there's these parts. That'S just like sticking out because of how short my hair is. It'S just really hard to deal with without a straightener, as you can see, some of my hair is less than two inches long. Let'S see how well this hair dryer works and also how well it works on short hair, so i have taken these stickers off the straightener and since, as i mentioned, i don't own any other straightener, it's really hard for me to compare it against other brand. As far as the strainer goes, i really like how it has a lock on it. You have to travel with it. I think it's definitely a very cool feature, and another thing is over here. It has this little cab you can take off and on the inside. Has an airplane sign or a house sign, i'm not really sure what it means, but it probably just means that you could turn it into airplane settings while you're traveling or have this in your luggage. Besides the lock, it has a power button, it has a display to show you how much battery life is left on this, since i was unboxing it for the first time i didn't pre-charge. This cord is very neat. It has a magnetic cord. I think once it's charged, you can use it cordless, but since this is not charged for today's video, i will have to use it with the cord on. But as you can see, this core moves around no problem, so i don't see it getting in my way of trying to deal with this hair, i'm going to turn this on and see how it works it does work with the cord on and scales are either 410, 350 or 330 is the lowest setting so that warmed up very quickly, it's showing at 3 30 already. So, let's give this a try. I haven't used a hair straightener in 10 years, so i just hope i don't burn my hair off. She looked really nice. So right away with one go, my hair is tamed, so that was my bag. I should have started with the lowest level, but since my hair is so short, it's just really difficult see the cord fell off, but it's still going. So, let's keep going without the cord. I have only about 40 left on this, so we'll see if we can get through. If not, i will reattach the cord so right off the bat. I really like how it's cordless and up here. None of the tools feels hot, and another thing is that i don't feel like. I might burn off my face or my ear. It'S not really emitting that much heat around the straightener, so i feel very safe using it because when i use regular curlers i always have a concern of it accidentally touching my ear or something, but so far so good. Let'S go to the next layer i mentioned. I'M very clumsy with my hands, so if you're someone who's really good with doing their hair, you know the safety thing of burning off your face might not be a concern but, like i said i not very good with my hands you can see. This is just like crazy there's, no way i could have dealt with this without a straightener one more of these crazy hair. So right now, i'm still on 330 degrees, which is the lowest setting and pretty much with one pass. I'M able to straighten out all these curly out of control hair, so i think it was beeping because i actually clicked on one of these plus and minus signs. So i reconfirmed the heat to 330, which is the lowest setting. So one thing that really attracted me to this device: besides the fact that the dyson is their claim that it doesn't damage your hair as much as the other hair tools. So far, i would say is probably true, because hair still feels really soft and not overly dry, as it usually does. If i use an iron, curler or straighteners in the past from you know what i can remember, it usually like dries out my hair and i didn't put any heat protection products either today. Okay, so my finger just accidentally touched did and it didn't burn me it just beeped a little bit because it was lower on battery, and i think i could probably finish my hair uh with the remaining battery. But for the sake of this video i will reattach it and just see how easily it falls off. This will be a test to see how much of a hassle it would be like if it was just costly, fall off and be annoying. So, let's see my left side seems okay, but my right side definitely needs some help. Oh this is a good chunk of hair. I don't know if one pass will do, but let's see oh, i see this one right there in the back nice. I think that is it, i think i'm done with my hair um. I have to say i'm really impressed with this tool. Like i said, i haven't really used a hair straightener in over a decade. So it's really hard for me to compare this with other latest technologies. I really like it. I'M definitely keeping this item, and the biggest thing for me is that, while i'm using this tool, i don't feel like my hair is going to burn off or i might burn my face or my ear, because that's something i'm always worried about. When i use a curler - and there was one time since my hair is so short - i actually like touched the edge of it. But since there is still a bit of room from the edge of the plastic to the actual iron, even though i actually touch it and for my hand, because i think it's because the edge did protect me from it and now that i've used it. For a couple of minutes, the edge is warm now i know earlier i mentioned that the tool was not hot, but after 10 minutes of using it is actually warm here now. I think this is why they have this white line on here to show you that this portion is the portion with the iron. It does get more heated. I definitely wouldn't put my hand on there for an extended period of time, but just tapping like this is fine. So, even though this is on the steeper end, since i got a discount on it and with the result i've gotten, i would definitely keep this straightener. My hair still feels nice and smooth and not dried out, which is probably the most important thing i look for when i buy a hair tool, is that it's not damaging to my hair? This is definitely a good purchase. I am keeping this and i'm very happy with this new dyson product, so this is it for today's video, if you have any questions, drop a comment below and as always, if you like today's content, please, like this video and subscribe for more content like this.
