She uses a combination of finger drying, round brushing, flat ironing and an array of excellent products to get a great, easy look that you can do at home in no time! She uses Michael's Beyond Shine to smooth, straighten, and shine and de-frizz naturally curly hair. Before she uses a flat iron, she uses Aquage Beyond Shine to protect her hair from the heat! Next she uses Michael's Shine It pomade to keep her look all day without having to adjust it. To finish the look she uses Bed Head Masterpiece hairspray to bring it all together! Hi, my name is Tanya Vera, I'm the stylist here at Michael's ones, and I've been here for 13 years and I obviously love short hair and I love to cut short hair. I think it's very feminine, and I also think that it's very trendy and fun you can wear it to the office or you can wear it out to dinner. I am gon na go, get shampooed and I'm gon na show you how to style short hair today I'll be right back first thing I do when I style on my short hair, as I start with putting my product in, and I used some Michaels styling cream And it's a smooth straighten, add shine and differs my natural curly hair. So I just take about a nickel size and I put it in my hair and I start with roots 10 and then I comb it through. So I make sure that it gets through evenly when I blow-dry. I make sure that I get the hair at least 80 % dry before I go in with round brushing I finger dry first, as best as I can. I use just around all the trimmers because that's where my natural curls comes out first, if you don't have natural, curly hair and you have straight hair, you might want to start with, like your crown first to get more body up there. First, I will start with my firmer first just you know if I can get all that wave out and then I will go in with round brushing to get the heights where I need it at around my crown and then to pull out some of the ways And will show you flattering techniques better and once I make sure the hair is good and dry, I go on to flat ironing. I saw a little bit of wave in there from my natural curly hair, so I like to flat iron. It be straight before I Flatiron use a collage, be on shine, it's a thermal styling protector and you should all use that before you flat iron, so that way, you're not burning your hair when you Flatiron it detects your hair, so you're not damaging it. So I always separate the hair off. I usually start with my front first, you can start with ever-ever section of the hair you want to start with, but I always start with my bang. First, that's my curliest section sprite and I comb. If you have a good flat iron - and you do this the right way and have good products, you should only have to go through your hair once not three or four times, because that's damaging your hair, I'm going to go in on the back section. I really can't see it sometimes, but you just gon na feel your way, pull it straight. Okay! Next I use our Michaels. China, dry cut styling paste and I put it in my hands and I put it on my hair and I go in and I go crazy and I like it because it's not oily and it's not too sticky and it's really nice to go in and manage Your hair and make it go any way you want, and your hair stays pretty good the whole day I usually don't have to retouch up my hair at all. I add a little bit of spray and I'm done so. Those are some tricks that you can try with dialing short hair. My favorite hairspray would be the bed head, it's pretty strong, I like it and it smells great there. You go. There'S the back.

The first day I wash and style and it looks great, but once I sleep on it it's pretty much over without alot of hairspray which I find makes it look really dry. Kathy Cadile: Just found this video as I have been looking for styling videos for short hair but my hair is fine not thick like yours although I do have natural curly hair. Just wondering if there would be a difference in how I would dry it. I have been drying it with the round brush right from the start and not drying it like you said "freely" first and then going in with the round brush later. I just can't seem to get my hair to be the way I like. I wish there were more styling videos out there for us with short hair. Also I've been using mousse and I'm not sure if that makes a difference either. Thanks.

Michaels Salon: Okay, I just got the info from Tonya about her cut! It is not cut with a razor, she has naturally curly hair - the razor would frizz her ends. It is point cut followed by chunking shears to add chunky layers. She said if it's called anything, it could be an 'elevated bob with layers.' Best recommendation: take a screen shot and print it out for your designer. Her hair is a lot shorter now, and we don't have a pic at this length, just the video. Michaels Salon: @101Ashapea101 Tonya has natural curly/wavy hair also - this is why she takes the time to blow dry with a round brush and then flat iron. If you wave & frizz is out of control, you could try a Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy treatment.
