Hello, everybody, this video is going to be something that I've gotten a lot of questions on. As we all know, the root Spanish foil conversion balayage those books are so popular right now, but the question I always get is: how do you work through the old dark? Color on your client locks to be blond. Again, I have the perfect plan here. As an example, today, mock's appointment, we took her to a boil conversion baleog through the dark color on your roots, balayage, her ends it's faded out now and she wants to be really blonde again so lovely. I did used ni per minute on her last appointment and that's my number one tip is always use a Bement per minute, especially if their client is blind and you think they're gon na wan na go blind again, because demo permanence aren't permanently a video softer. You'Ll. Be able to work through them easier, but it still is a little tricky. So I'm going to show you here what I do to work for that semi-permanent color. Okay, I am mixing up my Lightner and I am using two different developers for this first mixture. I am using silk lifts with 30 volume and for the second one I am using: silk lift with 20 volume and the reason being is. I want to use 30 volume through her previous color and then 20 volume on the ends, because they are pre buy-in. We'Re lifting it with two different volumes so that we can get consistent results since she has previous color on her roots. I am starting by slicing around the face so that we can have really bright money pieces and for these slices since they're kind of smaller baby hairs. I am just going to be using the 20 volume. Also, I'm doing the 20 because it's sitting longer - and I don't want to do 30 and as soon as I do some slicing around the face, I'm going to do normal baby lights. This piece was dark all the way down, so I just did the 20 volume, but now that I'm going up a little higher on the head, I'm going to switch and do 30 volume towards the root breaking through that previous root color we had on feathering down And that I'm going to be doing 20 volume on the ends where her ends are previously lightened. I continued that same pattern across the whole top of her head, so he or she has all oiled up slicing around the face with 20 volume and then alternating my baby lights, with 30 volume at the root and 20 volume on the ends. Since we are working with baby hairs down here again and most of it is dark, I am just doing 20 volume and, as I work my way up the head, I am going to switch back to doing 30 at the root 20 on the ends. Now, as I talked about in my intro, I did use a demi-permanent color on her the last time we did her hair and thank goodness for that, because it is easier to work through. So if you are taking a blonde darker for fall, make sure to do 10, my per minutes, because they are way easier to work with. If this had been a permanent, it would be a lot harder, but even so this guy, my permanent, was lifting a little warm. So save yourself the trouble and don't do permanent colors. Unless you know they're not going to want to change it for a while. Now that she is all foiled up, I'm having my assistant put olaplex number two on her ends. This is just going to give her a nice little treatment while she is processing, because her ends are a little dry, a little peek at how she's lifting you can see that she definitely has some warm banding from the previous color. So we're going to let that sit a little bit longer and tada she's. Looking so great still a little yellowy, I told her. It could take two sessions to get what she really wants, but I am pretty happy with how she's lifting so, let's now mix up the toners. She is wanting to be really blonde all the way up to the root, but I do want to tap her roots out a little differently since they were lifting warmer so right here I mixed up an 8 and 8 V for her root area and now for Her ends I'm going to be doing a 99 p9v. We really want an ashy bright blonde, but nothing too silver and since she lifted warmer. I think this is going to be the perfect toner, and now I am just tapping out her roots. The way you guys have seen me do a million times, so this is the shade CQ 8 and 8 V, and I am just tapping out her roots. This is going to soften the line a little bit and also cool down the warmer tones that we got through that brassy color. I had used ad mi. I think I had used like a 6g b7n on her last time, so nothing too dark, but it did lift a little warmer and it was a little Brasier. So this is just going to help neutralize that a little bit and then we will tone her ends with the 99 p90 and the blend together is so beautiful. I can't wait for you guys to see it. We will always win bleating every day. Every flash we're in Venus am I the only one who loves, processing footage. I swear it is so satisfying. This is after her roots had been put on and combed through, and then we will get to toning her ends, but oh my gosh. It was so satisfying. Hey her color is all done. I just wanted to show you guys before we started cutting how beautiful it turned out. Her hair is still healthy, it lifts lifted really easily, and that is because we used the two different volumes of developer with lifting and the two different toner formulations. I just love how even and beautiful this color was, especially since we were working through previous color. It'S just amazing. So now we are just going to cut her hair and she usually has shorter hair, but she's been letting it grow. So she wanted to chop it again. So what I am doing is just cutting off a few inches and giving it some texture. So I am just doing the underneath layer right now, as you saw I like to do the middle piece twisting it and then over directing everything else to the back and then just eating it out by quick point cutting and using my fingers as Engels. After I finish the base line, I like to pull the hair up with my barber comb and then just then at the ends, this just kind of shadows them out and makes them not as blunt and gives it a little bit of texture we're in. Let'S escape the gray and let the colors ring to the sillies you and Cherie cuz you and me to be what they don't see. Okay, I wanted to include in this video some footage of how I like to curl in style, short hair. I do a lot of long hair and extensions, especially so I get asked this question all the time so for her, underneath layer is a little bit shorter, so first I like to Flatiron it to make it really smooth because she does have some curl and frizz In her hair and then I actually take my flat iron and do Flatiron curls just twisting it leaving the ends out. Now that I am on to the next layer, I flat iron once again just to make it all really smooth - and even this is also really good for checking the haircut making sure everything is very even in good looking and then I just take my babble s. 1 in 1/4 inch - and I just curl her hair, leaving the ends out. The reason I did the flat iron underneath is because the hair was shorter and it's harder to maneuver the curling iron on those hairs. But up here the hair is a little bit longer. So I am comfortable using my curling iron when it comes to the Bing area, I'd like to use my Flatiron again, because the hairs are a little shorter, and this also gives you a nice, wispy or texture around the face after she is all curled. I just like to brush through the curls and then backcomb a little bit and then hairspray and sometimes use some texture spray. I think this cut in color turned out amazing. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to email me or you can DM me on Instagram. skyler nicole: youre so sweet and make amazing videos. as a stylist myself, i love getting inspired by your videos. lots of love!

Sofia Pasquale: Love your work! You are so inspiring! Keep up your works of art ♡ If someone used perminate hair colour on the roots how would you address that to break through the pigment. Also if they have grey hair Would this be possible to do with a demi ? I assume it wouldn't have good grey coverage.

Karina: Your work is always awesome! I love how you show the whole process down to the formulations

KT M: I would love to see a tutorial of dark hair for fall!

Shyla-Rae: I find it helps to texturize after you sculpt the structure to the hair cut. Then you’ll see the difference between the density and where you want to see movement. Beautiful colour thanks for sharing

CarPar Carlos: Can you show us more videos working w/ your extensions you're always informative and all of your work is phenomenal. It would also be cool to see some fashion colors or pastels.

Madison Caldwell: Can you please do a video that walks us through your different root techniques & the differences between them? Such as root tap, root smudge, shadow root, etc.

michkay1: Beautiful hair! I must ask though... y'all got Chick Fil A in Utah?! Is it as popular there as it is in the south?

Logan Tatlow: I’m a new stylist and I find I always struggle with highlights. I always find they slip or I’m not sure what placement to do. And since I’m new I’m slower, and it’s hard because by the time I’m on the last section, on my blondes the first section I did is already done processing I love doing highlights but I find them tricky. Anyone have any tips?

Ashleigh Kelly: Always amazing hair. But terrible music!

Leah Xx: Can you comb the root tap out with a regular comb or will that cause splotchyness??

Ivonne Romero: We need the formulas u used

Carina: Can u do a Video about ur shears what are ur favorite cutting tools

D. Lady Manhattan: Hello Jessi, I’m in need for advice. It is very hard for me to stay platinum. Brassy color occurs after the second or third wash. I’m good with coloring my own hair. Which company do you advise, as I would do my own in between salon visits. As a toner it just washes for me very quickly. Washing my hair once a week. Since I’m platinum with long hair. If I was in your area I would have my appointments with you. Also do you know of anyone in NYC? Thank you in advance, Danielle

Cynthia L: Jess. PLEASE put base and end toner formula below. You talk fast :-)
