Yeah five foot, three white girl does her in box braids what a video hey guys its Juanita and this week I did this. So if you know me, you know that I'm crazy and I like to try other things I like to change up my parents, my room, my hair. I have like a million weeks now, but I just I don't know my hair's like this long as the moments that I've really a cork would like, and I just really wanted to like - do something about it and do something really funky and cool, and I thought Kingdoms like box fries was fresh, fun and funky. I don't know um. So that's what I did so pretty much this video, it's just like kind of um, the small roller coaster. I went on doing this to my hair and also kind of like how I did it, because I am what I consider myself to be Caucasian and my hair is quite short at the moment. So my hair, I have like white, I have like straight brown short Caucasian, wipe your hair, and this is like how I do my box braids with my hair um. So yeah, I'm going to show you how I did it perfect. Okay. So I started last night that made me like: oh no, sometimes look just before 12:00. Like that's all. I know right so also. I look like a troll right now because I haven't showered and I just woke up pretty much so anyway - started just before 12:00 last night, finish doing part of it like nearly 2:00 in the morning, and then I went to bed - and I woke up this morning At like 10:30 or something it is now 12, so yeah, it's not 12. So I've been doing this for a total of we're gon na go something like four hours or something four hours: five hours, I've just braided them all the way down, and I haven't obviously dipped them in boiling water yet, but those ones are down and then I Have all of this just to braid, because I'm going to try and finish this and then I have my laser appointment at 3:00, so I'm gon na try and get like the other. This pot done by then probably not gon na happen, because this took me like four five hours, but we'll see so then I couldn't like tie and like a load pony cuz it'll, look like a like cover the rest of my hair. So I go to my laser appointment because I don't wan na be walking around my shop. Look like a I mean I do anyways up. You know, so that's! What'S going to have little hang my hair, why I'm doing this um yeah? So, what's going down right now and I'll touch back when like a fish braiding all of this, so it's nearly 1 o'clock and I haven't done anymore - I've just been braiding them all the way to the ends so cuz. I thought that like starting it off would be like the most time-consuming. I don't know why I just thought because I'd like to ever get it, but braiding is like so long. Sorry, what's going on. Also this is my setup. Have the black there and the pink there, and then I have like rug, brushes and cards and stuff up there and literally just if you plan on doing this, there's a lot of walking around the house aimlessly just doing this and blow down my mind. I have my appointment in two hours and I'm literally gon na walk through the shop. I think I might put like a big downer on my head, some mad, but kind of excited to look like a rat. Hey guys, I'm back so I managed to get like this kind of front part done. My hair, I'm not going to show you cuz. It'S just put a beanie on. Yes, I would for a beanie because it was like more convenient. They'Ve been tena but anyway. So I've gotten like this much done, I'm about to head off to my laser appointment, so I have to like look normal in public so and this is what I've opted for. I'Ve opted for like cropped, so I don't look like a complete but yeah. I don't know like, I think it's like kind of sick. I hope I finish it today. They'Ll be really nice, but we'll see anyway. I got ta go to my appointment, so I'll touch back later but like okay, I did not even have my mic on. That'S funny um, it looks like it's done, it's not far from it. Actually, I haven't even done that um, but I'm getting that so this has taken up two hours of life, not the whole of today pretty much apart from maybe like an hour and a half that I took have to go and get laser and like get a Couple tops: it is now 10 past 7:00 in the evening and yeah like. Should I get a face tattoo? I guess I'll check in one our next check-in I that what's gon na happen, I don't even know how, when do the back of my head like, if it's taken me this long to do the front of my head, that I can see what's gon na be Like at the back of my head, not excited at all peace out, yeah, hey guys, it is 10:30 at night and I am officially halfway through my head. You thought I was gon na say always done through my head, so I just couldn't sleep front part done. Okay and shaded back, that's all still looking real cute yeah, so we're gon na go with hopefully finish tomorrow and then I can like shave around the edges and stuff like clothes, a lot and then have really thick fun yeah. So anyway, this is the final result. I'M super super happy with it there's a couple things I don't like about, but I can't really fix that um. So, first of all I'll give you a longshot. So this is my hair from the front and I'll turn around. This is my hair from the back. So it is fairly long goes down to roughly like my ass um yeah, so super happy with that I'll. Give you guys like a quick like zoom in this is how I've done it. So I first started off by like parting and did all around here, and then I did this bit because I wanted to have like a part in the middle, and it was kind of easy to do this bit around here, because you can like see it all. But then, as you like go back and you can't see the back of your hair, it's harder and also what I hate is over. If you can see her, hopefully you can actually hurt. Rather, you didn't, but you can see all these little wispy bits that come out and they're just bits that didn't get caught up in the braid. And so I've tried to like stick it down with a bit of that hair, gel or whatever um. But I don't know if it's when you worked anyway, lcome back out and then with the ends of my hair, what I did or like because I watch ago youtube videos, and I have people, did this or whatever, like professionals, obviously doing it. I'M not sure I have no idea what I'm doing, but this is what I did so. What it did was when I finished I like I've, dumped it in boiling water a few times like the ends and then just drive them so that you don't have to wear like ties at the end of it to keep it braided and it's working out. So far it's been a couple of days. You know that I've been doing this. It took me 20 hours in total by the way, if you're wondering what an amateur 5 foot 3 white girl takes to do. Box braids in her hair yeah total, like 21 hours over the space of like two and a half days, yeah, so that interesting, yeah um. I started doing the front just as normal, like just using my normal hair, not putting anything in it before outside of the braids, but then what's the back, I just started putting like just like a hair gel like any hair gel, like just like, like putting on My finger and like pushing it onto the hair first and then going ahead and doing the braid just cuz. I found it easier to grip, but not too much. Otherwise, it was like too slippery um. That was just something that I tested and it worked. I guess but yeah so they're definitely tighter along the front and a lot looser the bag, which is fine because it makes it easier to sleep at the back, though, because my hair is obviously really short and it's a lot shorter at like the bottom than it Is at the top because I've had it shaved a couple times um at the bottom but anyway, so what I ended up doing at the back here was just getting some like little pink like holy Joe holy tire things or whatever and like just tying it up. Like in little like little nuts here just so it looks a little more normal because, like I couldn't actually get them in my hair, I also ran out of pink so yeah um and then with the back here. This is just I'm debating whether or not I should shave it off or not. I think I might leave these in for a couple more days and then decide when I'm going to shave it off because doesn't really matter but like. If I end up not keeping these in, I would rather have like all the hair on my hair that make sense, but yeah I don't know. I think these are like super cool. It took me a long time and literally, what got me throw up? Was this saying - and I heard that like a couple weeks ago - and it goes something like time is gon na pass like that time is gon na pass, no matter what you do so, why not do something with it like and just keep going or something along Those lines or whatever so the whole time I was like you know what it's gon na be you know, Thursday in a couple of days, and that time is gon na pass and I couldn't have really cool hair or I could not have really cool hair, and I said I chose to keep going and have any cool hair yeah so anyway, guys that is my new hair. Like I'm super excited, I think I might keep this info like I'm thinking three weeks but like if something falls out that obviously I'll have to take it all out. Cuz like I can't redo it, because it I have any more pink and it's a to unbraid. Patrick Shannon: They're gonna slide out so quick. You have to know how to put box braids in white hair or they will come out. You can't just watch a YouTube tutorial of how to do box braids and expect it to work on that texture and length of hair.

Morgan Wildwood: Braids belong to everyone; and the irony is, most of the women complaining are in support of braiding in the hair of women of OTHER cultures, as if that doesn't fall under their definition of cultural appropriation lol! Prejudice never has much reason behind it, and is quite easy to overcome with logic. I think this looks great! Rock on, white people have been doing braids for centuries (The Norse, and Scottish folk to list a couple), and never forget that you can do whatever the fuck you want. Everybody knows that..also this might sound crazy but it works and every black girl does this to our braids, but put some nair on the whole entire braid. Although it sounds crazy, it actually makes them stay much longer and makes it very sleek. Trust me girl, hopefully you do better next time! ☺️

Most African american don't use the box braids for cultural reasons we mostly use it to look cute. in africa there are certain braids for each tribe that show where you are from, their ranking in society, their age, and their marriage status. In america we don't use braids for those reasons so I don't see the problem with wearing the braids that we wear here. But there is a problem if you are wearing the braids from africa because they are more than just braids
