Dyson Airwrap Vs Flat Iron Waves (24 Hour Wear Test) | Milabu

Hello my lovelies! I'm back today with another really requested video comparing the Dyson Airwrap curling barrel to a flat iron or hair straightener waves or curls (depending how tight you curl or wave your hair.) I curled the left side of my head with the Dyson Airwrap 1.2" curling barrel and my right side with my bio ionic 10x flat iron 1". I really wanted to see how the curls would last for a total of 24 hours!

It'S been a hot minute, I feel like I've been filmed and so long we took the week off to spend time with our family for Thanksgiving. I hope you guys had a wonderful time as well. If you guys celebrate it, Andre gets sick a little bit. So we also kind of film before that, but here we are again and today's video we are doing the Dyson air rap versus a flat iron and we're doing this, the curls or the waves and we're basically going to do kind of like a wear test throughout The day I haven't done this yet myself, comparing one to one, so this is gon na, be really interesting and I'm really excited to see what the results are and we are going to the gym or right after I film this. So it's gon na be a very exhilarated test. I'M excited, let's jump in I'm gon na quickly, prep my hair, I'm just prepping my hair, just applying some leave-in conditioner. You don't have to do this. I usually do just because the weather is a lot of dryer. Now so I want a little extra moisture in my hair, I'm just gon na quickly brush this out. I divided my hair into two sections because on my left side, I'm going to dry and style my hair with a Dyson Air, app a 1.2 inch attachment and then once we finished with my left side, we're gon na move on to my right side. I'M going to dry it completely dry and then style. My hair with the bio ionic 10x flat iron. One inch basically going to try to attempt the same type of curls or waves, which are beach waves, my fave! So, let's just jump right in I'm, going to keep the settings and very simple highest airflow, highest heat setting, which doesn't go above 300 degrees or 302 degrees Fahrenheit, which is great and then once a hair dries. I'M gon na turn the cool shot for about 5 to 10 seconds to really set them in place. So by play with the Dyson I've noticed when I take smaller sections, it ensures that it dries a lot faster. The curl set a lot faster and it just last a better time instead of taking really big chunks of hair, just as I would with any hair straightener any curling iron I like to take smaller sections to make sure all of the hair gets the heat. Alright. So now that I'm done with the Dyson side, it's looking really good. Looking really voluminous, I'm not going to touch it, and I hope I don't mess it up. When I dry this side, I'm gon na come back once this side is nice and dry, and that way we can style with the flat iron. We are dry on this other side and now I'm going to style my hair with the flat iron and doing the same thing. I'M gon na bring the flat iron down and I'm going to make the curls go away from my face and I'm making sure the ends I slightly straighter than curly or wavy. So same thing, I'm gon na section off my hair. Let'S do this and I had the flat iron set at 340 degrees Fahrenheit before I brush up my curls with my fingers. I'M gon na quickly talk about the pros and cons for both tools and both sides with the curls or the waves. So I think overall, both waves look very good. They look amazing. They both look very effortless and exactly what I wanted to accomplish. The one thing I do want to say about the bio, ionic, curls or the waves. They are a little bit more polished and a little bit more smooth. I did dry my hair with a splitting brush with a Dyson, but regardless they always still look a little bit more polished so with the curls in terms of smooth and more polished. Definitely a flatiron, but we all know why I mean there's no air flowing there. Second point: what took faster? Definitely the Flatiron, if we're just talking in terms of styling, just because you're not drying your hair, you're, just styling, it takes four times faster. Let'S say if you're drying and styling hair definitely the Dyson takes the cake just because you're doing it all in one shot. Point three, which one was the hottest in terms of styling. So I turned on the highest heat setting for the Dyson and never went above 220 degrees Fahrenheit, which is amazing and then with the cool shot. It went down a hundred degrees for the hair to cool it off and then with the bio ionic. I set it to 340 and it went roughly around to sixty to eighty degrees Fahrenheit. So obviously, with the heat, it's a lot safer with the Dyson just because it never goes above a certain temperature with the bio ionic. I didn't even set at the highest temperatures because you don't even need it. It will just completely damage my hair. So, that's why I have it at 340 degrees, Fahrenheit and it's still a lot hotter, so you're adding a lot more heat to your hair, so point-five versatility, which one goes definitely the bio ionic, definitely a flatiron, because I can create really really tight curls or I Can create really loose waves with the Dyson. You can definitely create a little bit of a tighter curl with a smaller section, but because the barrel is 1.2 inches. It'S a lot bigger than this one, this one's only one-inch, so you can't create as tight of a curl, but you can definitely create a little bit more loose or a little bit more of a tighter curl depending on what and how you hold your section of Hair, so let's talk about the price. Only if you just want the curls with your flat iron or just straighten. Your hair definitely goes down to the bio ionic, because the bio ionic is $ 230 versus this. The complete package is 549. With this you get the dryer and a curling iron all-in-one. With this you just get the flat iron and the curling iron one. So technically there are two tools and two tools in here, but then again you start to dry, your hair or you can just air dry your hair, depending on what you do. So let's say you also buy our $ 200 hair dryer you're still coming out. On top with the flat iron, so it depends on what you want. There is eight total attachments with the Dyson complete package and there's only one or two tools. If you do straighten and curl your hair with a flat iron, so the bio onyx still wins with the price for the curls. Since we are testing the girls today. Alright, let's quickly brush up the curls with my fingers, looks very good feels very good yeah. The Dyson side feels a little bit more voluminous feels more full. I mean both sides. Look really good, but do you think the Dyson side is a little bit more voluminous, more softer and more volume, but they're still nice and beachy and effortless? And then this side is a little bit more defined and just a little bit more sleek and less voluminous. So now we're gon na head to the gym and today is a leg day, so I'm gon na get really sweaty. So that's what we're gon na do we're gon na come back from the gym. I think we're gon na take a couple of shots at the gym to see how the hair is holding up. I'M gon na put it up in a ponytail just because I don't like working out with my hair in my face because I do get sweaty so it might alter some of the waves, but we'll see what it looks like we're. Gon na come back and I want to see what the hair looks like and then we're gon na go on with our day and then I'm gon na come back at the end of the night and we'll see how the hair looks at the end of the Night, let's go Wow its nipply out here. I'M gon na take my hair out, see what it looks like I'm sweaty. Alright, let's go back home. We are back from in Jimmy's gay star. I wanted to quickly sit down in front of the lights and kind of do a turn around and see what the hair looks like and brush out my hair. Let'S see how it looks because I'm the first time Sina as well, which side do you guys like better the Dyson side, is a little bit more loose. It'S more softer waves now versus the Bionic, there's still a little bit more defined just because I did curl it a little bit tighter versus the Dyson, I'm just gon na quickly brush out the curls just a little bit. I still feel that the Dyson side has a little bit more volume. What do you guys think regardless? I think the hair still looks amazing and now we're gon na go make some dinner. So let's go and I will come back and check. I think I'm gon na ask Karina my sister, which side she looks better and I'm not gon na tell her, which side is which it is 10:00 p.m. I am ready to take this makeup off and go to bed because we have an early morning tomorrow. We have a meeting, so let's quickly talk about the hair. What does it look like? I haven't touched her since I last saw you guys here before dinner and what do we think which side looks better? I asked my sister Corina and she said she liked the left side better, because it was more voluminous and it looked more natural. She said the right side looked way too. Polished looked, really uniform and it looked like on purpose. So, depending what kind of waves are going for and my hair definitely fell out a little bit more, but it still looks amazing. This looks really good. My hair looks really nice and overall, I'm really impressed just want to give my hair a quick brush, and, while I'm brushing my hair goes a question which side you guys prefer the more softer side, it's a little bit more. I think it has more ball. Um, honestly, still like look at that, it still has a lot more volume. I feel like these curls are a little bit more defined. That'S what I noticed too, when I would do my hair with the Dyson my entire head. I would have so much volume. The next day after I styled my hair and that's what I really liked about it, even though it's a lot less wavy or curly, it still has more body and bounce to it, versus something with a flat iron or a curling iron. But overall, I think they're. Both really nice they're both completely different curls. At this point, we started off with very similar curls and now they're completely different, but I think they both look great. I think they both held up their shape pretty well and they wore very nice, and I did wear my hair down after dinner, playing with the kids, my sister and my brother-in-law came over with our two kids, so we had dinner together. I hope you guys like this video. Let me know what you guys thought of it, but for now thank you for watching and I'll see you in the next one. I love you all very much bye. I just quickly want to show you guys what the hair looks like in the morning the next morning. This is the Dyson side. Still aluminous still has shape and body, and then you have the bio ionic, the flat iron. You can still see the little kink up here from yesterday looks like the Bionic fell out. Yeah, that's what I was looking right away. It'S a lot less than follow you when the curls are a lot less defined, they're, very soft. Now the bullets to look great. You

kiki girl: The Dyson side looks the best to me. Shiny, voluminous and much healthier looking than the flat iron side. In the long run I think the Dyson is best as it will not create as much heat damage, especially on processed hair.

Brynn Warncke: I feel like if you own a $200 dollar flat iron, $200 hair dryer, 2 $50 curling irons (different sizes), plus a couple $20 round brushes... the Dyson complete set can replace all those items and it’s less damaging on your hair which makes it worth the money.

BeautyAndTech: I love the Dyson side. I’ve had my air wrap for about a month now, I’d held off buying one because of the price but my husband has expensive hobbies, my teenage daughter has expensive hobbies so I thought balls to it and treat myself. I’m so glad I did because for the first time ever I can curl my thin lifeless hair with ease and even better, the curl lasts two days too. I never mastered curling with flat iron and burnt myself because a wand felt un natural, air wrap felt intuitive and so easy to use. I’ve had lots of lovely compliments and while i still can’t believe I spent so much on an item for myself, I’m not going to feel guilty for it because husband and teenage daughter have had treble that amount spent on their hobbies and stuff this last year and this is bringing me the same joy they get from their stuff. I wish it was cheaper so that all women and men could own one.

Kalisha J: I totally agree with your sister. The flat ironed side is nice but the volume from the Dyson is gorgeous and a definite win for me. Loved this video!!

Emma Hodo: The price is kinda steep for the Dyson but personally I love the softer, natural waves. I don't know if I would pay that much but the results are gorgeous!!

Kelly Green: First of all, thank you so much for your videos. They are more thorough than anyone else's. My hair never holds curl so a 24 hour wear test is so helpful. Love that your hair is a little longer now. I think more people can relate to your style tests.

Alyssa Sahinis: You’re the first person i’ve seen using the Dyson Airwrap that way! I feel like everyone i’ve watched starts from the end of the hair strand, struggle with it even grasping the hair, and then their curls turn out like Shirley Temple curls. AND then they say they hate completely hate the styler! Seeing you have a different technique with it just makes me want to buy it haha!

Kris10 Kritter: I prefer the flat iron side. I prefer more definition over volume. I have naturally wavy hair and I’m always trying to get more definition to my curl/wave pattern so maybe that’s why I like a more polished and defined side.

Cobweb Afternoon: I definitely like the Dyson side better! I love these comparison videos, you guys do a great job! I especially appreciated you showing how it looked 24 hours later. It seems like you love your job! ❤

Caitlin Shreiber: If dyson ever comes out with a smaller curl attachment I’m all over it. I have naturally tight curly hair but it’s unruly and I like to take it with a curl stying to give it more polish and less craziness. I don’t want to loosen the curl of my hair.

Zaara Dr: This has to be one of the best reviews so far i have watched, so detailed and i loved how you demonstrated the pros and cons. Dyson should make you an ambassador!

kmydosh: Oh my goodness... The dyson side fell so beautifully and looked so good the next day too. The difference isn't so staggering that your life would be incomplete without an airwrap of course... but I think the difference is enough that its clearly noticeable and, if you can swing the hefty price, worth it. Some people say for the price it isn't worth it but everyone is allowed to spend their money how they want to. I have to get my hands on a dyson now... I feel like it will never come back in stock :(

Meli V: Love this!!! Thank you for doing it! I had been totally curious about how they compared. I bought the bio ionic after seeing you use it, and it’s amazing. Hands down the absolute best.

Simon: A flat iron will always look more defined and it’s a bit harder to control the size of the curls because each time you can’t twist exactly the same. But if you use a curling iron with the same diameter it wouldn’t make much of a difference. I personally like to blow dry my hair first anyways to get the desired volume, and then do the styling separately. I really like the Dyson air wrap but don’t think it’ll adjust the cost and not as practical as other tools.

Julie Taylor: I've been trying to make beach waves with the Dyson, but for some reason it makes my hair go frizzy, which is insane because it's normally silky smooth. I have no problem getting the regular Dyson curl (where it wraps itself.) Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? I'm assuming it's something to do with the coanda effect?

Ally Kat: That was a great idea to film after your workout and the next day. I definitely prefer the Dyson look. Lots of volume and looks shinier. The ‘morning after’ Dyson side looks as though you just got a fresh blow out. I love it. Just waiting on the Dyson to come back in stock somewhere... Thanks for your video!

ZestyMissy: I bought the bioionic because of you...& I love it! Im still practicing doing curls in my hair with it...you make it look so easy! But I def preferred Bios side. I’m not a big fan of volume on my own hair.

MB: love the dyson side, looks soft and natural - out of my $$$ range, but if it wasn't I'd def get one ! BTW your hair is looking so much healthier lately and I love the color MERRY CHRISTMAS !!

Eloise Dicker: I’m going to wait until Dyson bring out just the curling wands in their own set for a reduced price I already have the Revlon volumising air dryer round brush thing on your recommendation and it’s amazing so I don’t need all the other attachment with the Dyson but I want the curler so bad! Hurry up and bring it out separately Dyson!!!

Aastha: You are a godsend when it comes to short hair!! It is sooo frustrating when watching hairstyles on long hair. Thank you so much!!!

Serena Bales: I like the dyson side the best! It does look more natural and adds awesome volume to your hair.

Claire Davies: I prefer the flat iron side. Love the volume from the soon but such a ridiculous price point

Caitrin Mayne: I think the kink found by the flat iron is a tell tale sign that it isn't a natural beach wave. The Dyson side, however, looked effortless. I wish my curly hair would play nearly as nice!

Daisy and Poppy Plans: Hey Mila. Love your videos. Today at Wal-Mart (in Canada) I saw the Conair Titanium Sonic Vibrating Flat Iron. Could this be a possible dupe for the Bio Ionic 10X Pro Styling Iron??? It would be interesting to see how it performed. Price point here in Canada is $64.96, likely cheaper in the states. Lots of love from a short haired girl.

kat99: I prefer the dyson side. I like the softness and volume and overall shape of the waves.

Natalia Marquetti: As someone who's had so much hair and so much volume my entire life I like the flat iron side better. I'd do anything for less volume

valarya: I thought the Dyson side looked better the entire time. Right after and post-gym.

Kristin Hardin: The dyson side was gorgeous with the volume and natural look but the bioionic wins in easiest, quickest and more defined curls. I would love to have both butbif I had to just chose one, it would be the bioionic because of its price point and versatility! In fact, I have one wrapped under the tree from my husband right now Thanks to you! I appreciate you always giving honest feedback. You really don’t know how much it helps.

bwell2019: I prefer the Dyson curls for the same reasons your sister said, but they both look great and fall well.

Vilma Martins: Both sides look good but the Dyson side looks sooo much better. More natural. Fuller. I love it

Alyna Waters: I used to be so sad I couldn't get a flat iron to work like you do, but now I'm not. Dyson side preferred. Beautiful the whole time!

Queen of Moderation: I love watching this video because I know I can never do it on my hair. Its like 6 times thicker and will take literally hours to finish it.

Bryna Madrid: Dyson looks the best to me but either side is still gorgeous!

JackOllie4: I'm so glad you're doing good videos about this Dyson product. So many people are making these silly high-drama videos and not taking the time to just learn to use it properly. It's a real shame. I do like the Dyson side better. I hope the price of it will come down, in time. I certainly can't afford it at it's current price.

Lyndsay McKeown: Thank you for posting this! I found it really helpful. Do you use any other product in your hair other than the leave in conditioner?

TheEvh555: I bought the dyson because of your last side by side comparison (reckon v. smoothing brush)! Please do more styling videos with the dyson so a girl can learn!

Elizabeth Blaylock: Both sides look great but I like the Dyson side better!! How crazy on the morning after hair! Wow!! Definitely want a Dyson!!

Marlena k8: Milana!!!!!! I hope that Andre is feeling better, Happy Holidays to you. ❤ Grewt video, I have a new titanium flat iron under the tree that I'm dying to play with. Thank you for always giving us so much inspiration!!!

Paige Secco: I bought the bio ionic straightener on sale after seeing you use it in so many of your videos. Now I’m in the market for a new hair dryer and I’m torn between the dyson and the revlon. I’m stuck on that dyson price tag though

Isobel Amber: I keep watching videos to stop myself from buying one but the brush attachment sold me! I have super curly hair and need a intense blow dry to get it straight then flat iron and then curls (3 hours on a good day) but the air wrap would cut the time so much

Maurine: I really liked the result you got from using the Dyson Airwrap. The curls turned into beautiful waves the following day too. I wish I could afford to buy one. Oh well.

Réka S: I'm a sucker for volume so by the end I did prefer the Dyson side! But I don't think I'll ever spend that much on a hair styling tool to be honest.

Jessica De Hoyos: I'm curious, does your bio ionic remember your heat settings after you've turned it off and back on?... or do you have to re-set the temp every time?

Cindy Snow: Glad you're back! I really like product comparisons. I am just figuring out how to really curl with my flat iron.

Shirlene Higbie: I love the way that you used the Dyson to make your curls and give the volume at the same time .... I think off it as so many tools in one .... helps to some what... justify the price .... maybe in a couple of months I can purchase one ------ hopefully ----- LOL ....... Hugs ....... Shirlene

I’m Cooper: Definitely Dyson and I’m buying it after this video. I do really enjoy my Dyson hairdryer too. Worth the splurge.

JYNaRa2fly: I like the flat iron side better, I went crazy when they first launched the Airwrap but I'm not so keen on getting it now. I still wanna buy their blow dryer tho!

Erin C: I like the Dyson side better! The volume and softness. Looks more natural and beachy.

Lillie Graham: I like Dyson side better, because it looks more natural and voluminous.

American_Patriot Cummins: This is our 3rd Dyson product (2 hair dryers and now the air wrap) my wife is a stylist and I am a barber. I know the price scares alot of you away but trust me it is worth every penny.

Johanna Sánta: I don't really call things '' satisfying ''. But it was sooo satisfying when you curled your hair with flatiron.

SayWatYouWant: I'm torn, both did an awesome job. I LOVE the volume but like the polished tighter waves from the flat iron.

Pam Who?: I think we are splitting hairs here over which is method is “better”. I don’t think the difference is enough to justify the huge price.

Elisa S: Definitely prefer the Dyson side! The volume is so nice

MeteoricMarlin: The flat iron side looks better to me because I prefer the polished look. But if I wanted volume I’d have to pick the dysentery one then.

Nina Martincic: I like the Dyson side more. More volume, nicer curls

Marlene DeSalvo: I think both sides look nice. The Dyson side is fuller. But both sides look great. Great video. ❤️

FashionIsMyPassionGirl: Awesome! Love both sides and products.

Sarah Grace: Hi I love your videos I like the dyson side better but....I would never spend that much money for a hair styling tool. You look so beautiful with those waves though.

gabeslittlehippo: New subscriber heyooooo!! First and foremost you are my hair goals for reallllllll!! I have SUPER thin and fine hair..and I’ve been growing out a pixie for the the past two years. I’m just above my shoulders now and have extensions to given me volume (it’s a must!). Since having longer hair is still newish to me, I’m curious if you have a video from start to finish showing How you blow dry and then curl? Also how often do you wash? Do you switch up product or always use the same? How often do you deep condition and such? Help!! Cause my hair looks like a flippin troll doll in the morning! Lol

Splash Of Positivity 💝: Purely based on price point I would pick a flat iron or a curling iron over a dyson product of any kind

athenainsacramento: Great video, The Dyson side was prettier throughout. Please what did you use to hold your hair up during your workout? Thanks!

AmberRenee: I think the bio ionic side looks better❤

tshalik: I really like the dyson side, the bionic side just has straighter ends.

Sarah Miller: This makes me sad. I want a Dyson Airwrap even more now...lol

abigelow24: I prefer the dyson side but I would never buy it. I couldn't imagine spending that much on a hair dryer/curling iron.

Francisca de Vasconcelos Pinto: Liked the Dyson side better, felt way more natural.

Briahna Knuckles: The dyson side looks so much better. I'm not sure how you think that the flat iron side looks more polished. It looks frizzy and uneven.

Erika Vanessa Espinosa F: There is no way my hair would hold a curl after working out. My hair gets soaked as if I had just got stepped out of the shower.

Cindy C: Definitely liked the Dyson side.

Mikayla Palmer: So i have been looking into a new flat iron. You have mentioned titanium plates are better than ceramic, but the bio ionic 10x has bioceramic plates. Would the titanium be better than those?

Cristina B Casale: I prefer the dyson side , just becouse the hairs seem to be more clean

Kaitlin Trump: You are seriously the only one that doesn’t annoy me when it comes to using the dyson. Most of the youtubers I’ve watched was like “it doesn’t work” meanwhile they are using it on bone dry hair

Amanda Rausch: When you use the Dyson upside down for beach waves, which direction barrel do you use?

MrsLoretta: I like the DYson side...more volume and solter..Your hair looks pretty!! xoxox Loretta

Erin C: Also, thanks for continuing trying out the Dyson and show us videos. First impressions videos are about stupid. I want to see after you’ve spent time with it.

Kim N: I am so glad you linked the gold sweater you're wearing! It's so cute!

Michele Thomas: The Dyson side is much better.

EnglishLearner: Hi Milabu. Here in Singapore, we do not have the option of using the revlon oval styler :-( I was really looking forward to get it after your review video. It would be great if you can do a video on the best dual voltage stylers out there!

Caite 180: Great review the Dyson is really amazing!

Valerie Conway: The Dyson side hands down for me .

marigam: Very informative! Thank you!

Fatima Sanchez-Medrano: I like both but I like the flat iron because I like more polished looks

Misty Schoephoerster: Dyson side looked better... I felt the hot iron hair looked a little more frizzy by the end of the day

Lucía Frau: I prefer the Dyson side and looks more shiny and healthy hair. But still way too expensive

EverythingZen: I definitely prefer the Dyson side, much to my dismay! $$$

Anchal Sood: Can you please tell which barrel you use with Dyson? Like direction wise, since you wrap your hair around it, rather than it picking up your hair on it's own. I believe it works best this way and you are only one who has mastered it this way!

Rhonda Barlow: What is your favorite more affordable flat iron over all?

Jade: ooh I am so excited to get my own Dyson airwrap soon!

doodleartlover: I don't like the Dyson at all...not just from your reviews but from others I've seen as well. It's just too pricey and the flat iron makes much prettier curls that last longer, in my opinion. I'll be sticking with my tried and true flat iron, haha! Thanks for all you do! ✌

Molly_ Lou: what did you use to dry your hair on the flat iron side ?

Paula E: Dyson side looks more smooth and natural.

Danni Garcia: Can you do a video on different ways to style your hair with a banana clip? :) love your videos!

Be4tric3: Dyson side looks more natural. I like it best.

Megha Sheth: What leave in conditioner do you use? Any drugstore recommendations?

Christina McCurrey: I wish I could afford dyson products. They are so good but sooooooo expensive!

Grace Doe: I just love your hair so much in general! Every time I watch your videos I get the urge to chop my hair.

Tiffany B: I get so excited and happy to see that you’ve posted a video. My favorite Youtuber for sure!

jacquie1294: Love your videos! Also what hairbrush is that (the one you brushed out your curls with)???

RencheK: The softer side, luved the volume and bounce
