Red Hair + Beach, Swimming, Washing

Clara-Lee Correa: I'm going on vacation soon and I have really bright red hair.   I'm not worried about it fading (cause I can redye it) but i am worried about it dying the water in the pool red...or my clothes...was this a problem with your hair?

Kayla Berres: the same thing happened to my red hair when I went on vacation. nine days of swimming in pools and a lake and my hair turned all blonde and my hair closest to my roots that i didn't prebleach was still red! it looked like mcdonald's frozen strawberry lemonade drink! i have been meaning to ask you if you go swimming with your hair but now im glad im not the only one! lol you still look fantastic! rooock on!

Talia Bloodina: I dyed my hair red before going to the beach and it faded all away. So i ended up with blonde highlights lol

Putrefied Ghoul: Each times I used magicontrast (at L'Oreal professional hairdressers) my hair was orange, or at least red the few first days, but later on they just faded out terribly, and damaged my hair really badly (cuz magicontrast does not need pre-bleaching, since it bleaches itself) I don't know how you manage to achieve such a result, especially because your hair does not appear to be that damaged. Anyways just to say that apparently magicontrast can not suit anyone (or you are a wizard of coloration !)

Do the research for what color red you'd like and maybe it isn't for you but its called L'Oreal HiColor HiLights (you may need more than one tube depending on your hair length, etc.) but it stayed so vibrant in my hair, the non bleached parts were still very vibrant after a month. Mind you I don't wash my hair but once a week but you could always look up youtube videos for people who wash their hair more than me for a more accurate longevity report C: (hope this made sense)

ZJ Perez: It runs like crazy!!! especially if you have bleached hair. I only have bleached ends on the bottom half of my hair because they used to be teal. I had my brand new bathing suit from Victoria Secret damaged from my hair. I now make it into a bun on top of my head and try not to get it wet. If I must swim under water I make sure I keep my body in the water and do not wear any good clothes or towels on like my car ride home.
