Will this "Today" segment go down as the worst makeover in TV history? Beauty expert Deepica Mutyala tried to show off her skills by giving a woman a quick updo for the summer. Model Malyia McNaughton, who has beautiful curls, was given a makeover that made her hair look as if she was caught in a wind tunnel. The stylist pulled the model's hair into an awkward ponytail -- and viewers weren't impressed. McNaughton managed to smile through it all. However, the stylist said she was devastated. #InsideEdition

It may go down as the worst live TV makeover ever and the internet is going nuts over it. This segment was called one-minute summer, hair with three models. Now we have miss Melia, but one in particular see to get a raw deal. Melia McNaughton looked gorgeous to start with sporting, a natural curly dude, but her look turned into a nightmare. We want to kind of try to focus it to one side of the head like a size yeah, the stylist pulled the models hair into an awkward ponytail. There'S more to decide, it is the better. She then tried to create, bangs and really think the textures of her hair. It'S beautiful and kind of embracing the models before hair went from looking gorgeous to ridiculous and the internet went bananas. What a disaster one person wrote oMG she didn't know anything about natural hair went another. I have seen the wind create a better style said: one viewer, the model managed to smile through it all the stylist Deepika mutyala is devastated. She said she was deeply sorry for what happened she added. I can't even begin to describe how bad I've been and promised to do better. In the end, it may be a case of don't fix what isn't broken.

Kia M: If you can't do ethnic hair, you're not a hair stylist. This was horrible

kyla: "I've seen the wind make a better style."

Advocate For Yourself: A stylist that can't do hair. That's scary.

Blackskye211: honestly she didn't even need a makeover her hair was already styled beautifully.

That Guy: 1:15 The beginning of the school year vs. when your 4 months into the school year and failing but you gotta stay positive

Emily xGymnast: I died "I've seen the wind make a better hair style "

Ari Thomas: Every Natural gurl and her momma know thats a perm rod set, not a "Naturally Curly Hairstyle"

Lolo Moss: that's messed up! by the time Deepica got done with it her hair looked like chickens had been scratchin in it!

Eline Maatkamp: I don't know if any of you know this.... but that stylist has actually done a buzzfeed makeover before lmao. looked about as crappy as this does i'm not even kidding

Arleth Leon: what the hell did she did to her hair

Dira501: The after was definitely a damn mess, she should've just left her hair alone.

Kyla: She should have at least created a side part with a twist pinned to the side, that would have looked decent on the girls length.

Hallo Eisbär: I've seen beds perform better hairstyles. She really messed up trying to fix her original hairstyle.

Harriett Johnson: LOL. Her hair was so much better before!

Holly Rice: At least it's not as bad as some of the Buzzfeed makeovers.

Wash City: Honestly I feel kind of bad for the stylist. To be honest when I first started doing my natural hair it was not that easy. Even hairstylist can draw a question mark with it. It took time and education. What this hair stylist needed for a fifteen minute updo mind you was a headband or a scarf. She could have made a turban or a pineapple. Or even just a basic ponytail that is not offset.

Just Chris: LMAOOO THEY JUST LEFT HER LOOKIN LIKE THAT I-

Andre Outlaw: Well, I just don't think the stylist has had any experience working with hair from a black person. Unfortunately, I think this was a lose, lose situation for her. If she would have said something to the effect of: I don't feel comfortable working on the her hair because I don't have experience. And that would have made it's way out to the public she would have been crucified. But she tried on live television and screwed up and she was crucified. I think that even if she would have practiced before the show went on and not been able to do anything with is and passed. But somehow that information got out. Yes, she would have been crucified. Our hair requires previous experience to be successfully styled. Even for mixed women (I should know, I have a mixed 2 year old daughter). I don't believe that she messed up her hair on purpose. I think she saw what looked like a thin texture from the excellent job that was done on the hair before and got in over her head. If she would have had more than a minute or two to work with the hair I think it would have come out looking a lot better, not that the original hairstyle needed to be changed to begin with. (In other words, the stylist should have walked up to the black woman and said: "tada!" No need to change this!)

Blue: I'm not sure but it looks like the stylist doesn't know about styling curly hair lol I've dealt with plenty of those.

OP GalaxyCookie: I wake up and I get a much better hair style

Mango Goblin: that natural hairstyle who was a summers style within itself already...... there was no need for that model to even be on stage....that was just a quick discrimination towards natural hair stylings

TheJjtv123: I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't even know what to do to her hair and I have natural black hair also. Her hair is already done and looks nice. The only way to improve it is to add a bow or something

Kiara Renee`: When they try to include diversity but don’t know how to do the diverse hair

Me Myself and I: That was a mess. It is a sad fact that a majority of white hair stylists don't know how to do and/or take care of natural hair. I think all stylists should know how to do all kinds of hair.

Lewis Chinquita: I STRONGLY AGREE. DO NOT FIX WHAT IS NOT BROKEN. BE CONTENT.

jackie hat: Natural hair is beautiful, but I asked myself, why black women with natural hair in the TV ads hair look untidy, I mean actually messy. The media is not displaying black women at our best attractive self, why.

LaraD: The before and after were both awful! Her hair did not look gorgeous to start with she looked like she just got out of bed! From bad to worse.

Helium: The first error is thinking you can style black womans hair in one minute. That’s the FIRST mistake unless it’s a bun .. but even if it’s a bun you have make sure it looks neat

Delaney Wildermuth: I saw this segment and I saw her hair, I was like "girl, on purpose?"

Nesha Britwood: I would've been mad.

Georgia Pardy: I saw this stylist on another show, working with clothes and she ruined all the outfits she had to work with...

Farrah V: Omg saw this stylist on the today show again doing makeup! The makeup was horrible. Just really shiny eyeshadow lol... they must pay her really cheap

Pisces Blessings: How is she a hair stylist take her license

Irene Cardoso: Love your videos!!

Audiwan Kenobi: well she looks good before and after!....what does she look like in the morning?...even before brushing?...That's the _real_ measure of beauty.

Bushy Brow: All she really had to do was fluff out the models hair and make it even.

SassyGalBeauty: Wow. What a mess. That poor model!

Ahmed N: "I'm a huge advocate for diversity so offending anyone breaks my heart". Is this where it all came to, being offended over a one-minute hairstyle tutorial?

SuperDuperSentinel: "I have seen the wind create a better style" Oh my lord!! lmfao!

Blessing Hlawn: THAT HAIRDRESSER WAS ON BUZZFEED OMG LMAO

calena jackson: Awkward ponytail gorgeous to ridiculous they goin in on her lol

calena jackson: Omg this was for real lmao

Caryn D Prescott: She messed up the Asian woman's hair, too. She scammed her way onto the show. She needs to go back to cosmetology school. What a disgrace.

Maya Table: This is still hilarious

Joseph Artsader: Never thought my comment about the Wind would've been funny to anyone.

Caryn: It's even worse when a Black stylist won't do your hair. They're all over Instagram talking about how they REFUSE to touch us. Damn shame. Hurtful.

anna: She’s just like:Help me please ;m;

caballo sin nombre: model looks great either way

I probably dislike you: She can't do any of their hair. Period.

Blossom Twilight: If you don't know how to do natural hair, you shouldn't do hair at all!

Lucky Smith: I want the model to speak out

joyce YT: IM CRYING

Rh: lmao. even the people behind this video sound like she is holding on to her laughter.

G: It’s hard to work with nappy hair

PolyTicks Comics Official: If she wasn't trying to do the 1-minute gimmick, she probably would've done a good job. Give the lady a break. This is the equivalent of the Olympic acrobat who slips on a wet spot on LIVE TV.

Rare Goddess Romina: You can't possibly look good in a minute wtf?

Princess Jones: Lol the reporter was looking like wtf is u doing sis

C: that stylist canceled

Donna Paige: She could have pulled that hair up in a ponytail and made it look better then that. She just did not know what to do with her beautiful hair.

Vetmom79: How about you promise never to do natural hair again.

A S: I saw it live and I was horrified.

Twiggy B: The woman was absolutely stunning in her before look, why would you volunteer, goofball

Namrata Singh Suresh: you should now post deepica's follow up segment to amend the situation. shows grace and maturity

Kay Genyse: Lmaooo I’m dead

Trish Saint:

Yerlen Jonson:

QuoteMe. Goddess!: Beeeehehehitch!!! Noooo! She can't do a Black Woman's hair. That's all!

Roe Palmer: I've never really liked that girl anyways, does weird makeup

Elysa: a MESS!

Vintage darling: The internet is still undefeated!!

Sam: wasn't that stylist in a buzzfeed video about makeup

don brassco: She looks better before

Pamela Taylor: NOW I THINK THEY WONT USE CERTAIN TYPES OF HAIR TEXTURES NOW IT WILL BE GIRLS WHO HAVE MIXED OR STRAIGHT OUT STRAIGHT NATURAL HAIR AS MODEL CAUSE IT WILL BE EASY TO DO IN 60 SECONDS SEGMENT NOW

Monica McCullough: MY EYES IM BLINDED

rava d: OMG

Bam Bam: ppl make mistakes... the hair stylist is a woman of color herself. it was funny but she shouldn't be feeling crappy over it.

huudy 36: lmfao!!!

Kennedy Mariah: Smh

Avery Villegas: but if you think out it she only had a minute and the models hair was hair that required a little more work and styling...

daric nd: hahahahaha omg

sean lasker: HAAHAHAHAHFNSNSXKDM DEAD

christian doodles: So the pony tail is a disaster, but the un even uncombed afro that they wear today is Allright? I prefer affro from the 70s.perfectly round, no dents It's called an afro pic ppl. Use it

DopedFiend: Lmfao

Miguel: Guys. It's just hair.

Pamela Taylor: WILL HER HAIR WAS VERY CUTE BEFORE BUT SHE HAS BLACK GURL HAIR AND I AM GLAD THAT SHE SPORTED NATURAL HAIR BUT THEY NEEDED A SISTA STYLIST TO DO HER HAIR

_alexation _: Ohhhh no

sims girl: well i like it

--: Thank god she wasn't white lol

Liza Wright22: I feel bad for her. I mean she tried

Thedressupface: Urgh I hate these videos where the presenter talks over the video

Mark Reid: omg

Cynthia Troutman: Model is gorgeous! I feel bad for them both though.

Erika H: It looks so ugly

Just Be It: Gosh she's thick

tropicalprincess16: Bruh all she had to do was make a quick braid to the side or something. Be prepared before u go on national tv and embarrass yourself

Lucifer: report real news plz

Paco The Unicorn: Omg that hair stylist looks like simmy from fouseytube ( sorry if i spelled that wrong )

Erika H: Why

This World IsCrazy: Looolllllll

Panther15 ZodiacGods: I would have expected no less from this crappy racist, so-called hairstylist. That b##ch knew exactly what she was doing, and couldn't wait to try and humiliate that beautiful black woman in front of national TV.
