Oh guys, it's Shakya and today we're gon na be doing a video on Divakar products and whether or not it's for a black hair and I've never seen the rave by black people. So I was like hmm like. Is this just not a good product or there's? Not work on our hair, so today I'm going to be answering those questions for you all, and I got this little Peck. If you saw my as I am video, you know that I like getting these little variety packs with the little sample sizes in them before I commit to buying the full size, because diva curl is not cheap, so holy yeah, so yeah I'm stop Emily and getting To the video all right, you guys I just finished cleansing my hair with the diva chrono cool cleanser, and then I followed it up with the conditioner. So now I'm going to be gathering on my hair to the top and then taking one section out individually. It focusing on that one section. So now I'm going to be set to write my name for a little water, because it got a little dry invented when, following up with the diva curl styling cream and use a better quarter size amount of that and running through. My hair with my fingers and if you notice, as I was trying to run my fingers through my hair, it was getting really tangled and I had it so yeah. I don't know what that was about, but I just got my comb and tried to comb through the knots and it was just really hard to work through and my hair was all ready to tangle before I even started so yeah, I'm cooking a little bun to The next product, which is the light defining gel and I used about the same amount as the styling cream, but I just like to slide the product down with my fingers and kind of single out each strand, and I love this gel a lot. It had so much slip and may my heard so soft and shiny, basically the complete opposite of the styling cream, and it really gave me that plump and juicy curl that I love. So I'm going to be repeating the same process, all over my head from section to section: do you guys know the day so now I'm finished with my whole head and I'm just going to be sitting it with this moisture like finishing spray and actually got this Separately, yellow so it did not come in the pack, but I wanted to see how it would work with the other products, and I actually liked this finishing spray on like it helps to combat any frizz ease that I had and also help retain any moisture. In my hair, so yeah I'm just gon na let this dry for a couple of hours. So now my hair is about 90 % dry, but the roots are still a little wet. So let me defuse it for a little bit so now my hair is completely dry and I want to get my peak and pick out there who's a little bit because there's a little flat - and you guys know I like some volume with my curls, but I'm Not gon na pick it too much because I don't want to lose the definition but yeah. This is the finished product and I actually got the results alive. What do you guys think? Aren'T you guys so is the next day and my hair is completely dry now and I picked out the rest, and I told you guys my head gets super big as each day goes. It'S actually bigger, then is showing on camera. It'S like huge, but so my thoughts on this line was it wasn't bad as a whole, actually loved the shampoo conditioner. They both cleanse my hair very well, and they had like this minty cool sensation. When I was like massaging my scalp and the folk like cool and refreshing, so I actually like that a lot, but after I rinsed it out, my hair didn't feel moisturized like I liked it too and didn't have a lot of slip to it and you guys Know I like to detangle my hair with the conditioner still in it, and it was so hard to get the comb through and it just felt really kind of stiff. So I don't know what that was about, but yeah I probably be using the the conditioner anymore. But I like the no poo, though so yeah I'm moving on to the styler, which is the styling cream and defining gel, and I already know what to save how the styling cream. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. Maybe I wasn't supposed to do them together. I don't know so. The styling cream just made my hair so tangled and dry, and I was trying to work the product down with my fingers and my fingers kept getting caught up and tangled, and this is already on the tangled hair. You know I already tangled my hair in the shower. It was just honestly a household to use it, so I rather not use it then go through all of that to use it just it took too long to put on a styler and had to put it on run it through my fingers. You didn't comb it out and then rent my fingers again like it was just not taking it at all, so the cream style that gets enough for me, but that gel is life. Okay, like it was soft and manageable. It has super slip. My hair loved it. So I would definitely be repurchasing that, and I don't know if you can use it by itself, I want to try, maybe mix and matching it with something else or maybe by itself. I don't know this is probably one of my favorite washing goals to date. It just defined my curls so well and I like plump curls, and it definitely did that it made him like super plump and juicy. So I love that so I'm really just kind of confused on where you're staying with this line. Oh come on the fence about it because I love the results, but if something is so much of a house or to use, then I'd rather not just use it. So it's kind of like you're, okay, with like detangling your hair three times, then this product is for you, I'm not. I want to just run it through my fingers and go. I will use it again if someone gave it to me for like a gift or I don't know, but I would not go out and buy it. Probably the gel the gel was awesome. I don't know, maybe I should try it like a different. I know they have different lines. Come on. Shea Moisture has a lot of lines. I may try a different product in the diva curl, I'm not saying it's a bad product at all. It'S actually great. I just don't know if it's great for my hair and even on the back, there's like little to no black hair types. So is this catered towards black hair? Probably not, but it can use it. Definitely, I don't think you've made for our hair, but I think anyone with curly hair can use it. There'S just our hair needs, so many things and a product like moisture slip, different oils. I don't know what are you asking, maybe tried to give a curse products? What do you think about them? Let me know down below and thank you guys so much for watching and I will catch you guys. My next one bye

Paula Major: I actually disagree. Deva Curl products works extremely well on minority females' hair, i.e. Black women and bi/multiracial women. My hair does well with the product. My hair does not do well with Shea Moisture products. I also think you should use the styling cream after your hair has dried. At least that is when I use it. I say stay at it. The No Poo and Conditioner work in unison. You gotta use them both. Also, don't dry your hair so much after your poo and conditioner just to wet it all over again. The wetter the better the first time around.

Juanika Motley: Deva is formulated to have a lot of water used with it so I recommend using water from the spray bottle after you apply the products to each section to help with the slip and to help absorb the product

Iconic Curlz: You should try the Deva Curl Decadence line it's specifically for supercurly hair.

Azurewinged: When I got my Deva Cut, they used it on SOAKING wet hair. Use it while in the shower. You have to follow the method.

Anya Hylton: Deva curl decadence has transformed my coily curls to something spectacular. I am at a point where my wash and goes last 7 days. I suggest anyone who tries these products to use them in the shower. Constantly wetting hair to work product through. Doing that not only decreases amount of product needed, but also aides in more slip. I am loving this line. I pray my hair never gets use to it to the point where it does not work. My hair is 3c or coily/ringlets.

Hailey Hill: I’ve been doing the deva line now and one suggestion my hairstylist gave me was to use a peas sized amount per section I know that sounds crazy but the hair doesn’t need to be white for the product to be all over but you’ll learn that soon after a lot of use btw your are drop dead gorgeous ❤️

Keyanna Suddreth: I use the Decadence line and I LOVE it! Your results are really beautiful! The definition is amazing!

Autumn_breeze: Your hair turned out great! I have similar hair to yours and have only used the Super cream and I loved it, it gave me my best wash and go's. Only reason I haven't picked up more is because of the price (about $20 I believe) but I'll have to revisit the cream again soon.

Stay Upitty: I love devacurl products and I used the light defining gel and the super cream for a wash n go. My hair came out bomb and voluminous. That combination will definitely be my go to for a wash n go.

Electric Jiggy Janet: Hey Jakeia, love your videos! Although the creator of Deva Curl, Lorraine Massey is not black she designed her products for anyone & everyone with curly hair to use just like Ouidad. I am black & very familiar with Deva Curl. The problem you had with the product happened because you did not use them in the right order. Their products are made to be used in a specific order also depending on what your curls need. My personal problem with the product is the price! I am very heavy handed & my hair soaks up product & dries fast. For me to pay $40 for a 16oz bottle hurts. I am not a doctor & don't make the big bucks so I gravitate toward Beautiful Textures which gives me 20oz for $7.99. However because my hair really loves Deva Curl, to compensate for this I buy a big bottle of the Ultra Defining gel & use it only on special occasions and go to Devachan hair salon once a year for a trim. I wish my budget allowed for more but it is what it is.

heytherearin: You definitely need to try the decadence line by devacurl. It’s made for super curly hair. Also try the supercream coconut styling cream from them too. Has more moisture and gives better definition for our hair! Your hair turned out amazing though

Jessika Kirkland: Thanks so much for doing this and being so honest. I was curious bc they have it on Zulilly. I looked at the ingredients and didn’t think a lot of them were not good for my daughters hair type 3C/4A. Again, thank you so much for trying this out.

1FrolishiousBaby: I think we have almost the same hair type I like the DevaCurl Ultra defining gel and No Poo but not so much the coconut cream styler. I also like the build up buster and want to try the Melt into Moisture mask. You really should try and review Soultanicals or Camille Rose. I love those!

LHill1969: I called Deva Curl because I was really unhappy with my Super Stretch results. You really have to use their products on soaking wet hair, that makes a big difference, totally different results.

Davilynn Flowers: I bought the mini transformation kit in super curly. The kit came with the no poo, one condish (decadence line), and the supercream. I used it last night and I liked it considering I didn’t use a gel. Surprisingly every coil is defined, soft, and my hair is big as if it’s second day hair. Would love to try it with the ultra defining gel... oh my hair type is 4a

Aleah: I would definitely try a different line and a different process. I use it everyday and it made a big difference in my hair for the better. It really is in the process not just the product.

Ceane Pichon: Beautiful! I agree about trying the Decadence products. I have 3c curls and I like them better than the regular line. You can also try the super styling cream but I also prefer the gel.

Ai M: Devacurl is the best products I have tried on my hair. Before I thought my curl pattern was a 4 a-z. With the new products I have been using (decendence no poo and the conditioner and the super stretch cream )now I know my hair is a 4b. I love my products but I did get a deva cut and I did buy the products recommended. my wash and go is life now!!!! I have tired a shit ton of other products that just doesn’t do it the way deva curl does. Super stretch is LIFE!!!!!

DestinyC1020: So far I LOVE their products, and I'm type 4a/b. I want to try the decadence line next.

Yvonne Lane: I have what is considered 4b/4c hair and I love the Deva Curl Decadence line. Deva Curl recommends using the styling products on super wet hair and I find that it works for me. I love the fact that the products are water soluble and I love the way my hair feels. 90% of the products I use on my hair are from Deva Curl.

Chace: i have 3c/4a/4b hair and i love devacurl. it's the only product line that has worked for me. they have different lines for your curl type.

J. LMidd: I've been holding on to my Diva Curl products and just started using them again. I use the decadence line. ABSOLUTELY HATE the leave in, It has NO slip and leaves a weird film on my fingers and hair. So I purchased the arc angel gel which I've used twice and I'm still on the fence about it. The light gel I prefer. The super stretch is also so so. Not sure if I'm a fan. Tomorrow I'll try the decadence regular conditioner (leave a bit in my hair), with the arc angel gel. I'll see but I threw the leave-in OUT! Next ill purchase AGAIN the supercream. I didn't appreciate it before. Your hair looked beautiful!

Shay Jillianna: I've always had my eye on Deva but specifically for curly weaves now I know I can use it on my hair. Thanks!

Tanya Williams: Absolutely Beautiful! My Deva Curl experience was a fail! I had no moisture and my hair was dry.

TIFFANY COLBERT: Your hair is bomb!! I've tried Deva Curl. I like the NO-POO & ONE Conditioner. I've tried the Ultimate Defining Gel. It gives definition but I feel other the two I like, the others I've tried leaves my hair feeling dry.

Christina Colongne: Hey beautiful , I noticed you started out with the Deva original shampoo and conditioner. They have a Deva Decadence line that I feel you would appreciate more and from personal experience it is so incredibly Moisturizing. I know that stuff is very expensive. Grab your receipt and see if you can do an exchange? I hope you have a blessed day ❤️

Kamie: The DevaCurl Decadence line is for supper curly and tightly coiled hair that line of products caters to super curly hair and tightly coiled hair and you have to use it on soaking wet hair to get the best results

JoAnna Johnson: I have extremely coilly, very thick, 4C, very dry, prone to brittle hair. This stuff is not race specific. It works really amazing on my hair. You do have to use the products on very wet hair. And you can't use a whole lot of product like most people are used to doing. I didn't believe the hype when I tried these products. But they surely made a believer out of me. When things work on my hair I'm always impressed because most things don't. I typically don't find success with very heavy weighing products and these products aren't heavy at all. These products work like a dream. The conditioner is my favorite. The products leave my hair very shiny and manageable and cut my wash day down by hours. My hair is so detangled after washing that I can comb through my hair with plain water. THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED! EVER!!!! Then I apply the conditioner and twist my hair in sections. I rinse it out lightly and my hair is perfect. I have waist length thick hair that normally takes me hours to detangle and wash. Not with this stuff. It's pricey, but oh so worth it. Definitely works well on 4C hair. OUR hair!

Carmen Ice: DevaCurl is a staple of mine, Type 3C and my hair love it. This coming from a girl that was trying everything, but nothing does my hair justice as good as DevaCurl. Its a way of using Devacurl, if you don't know how to use it, it can be an issue. Soaking wet hair is best. But what works for me, may not work for the next.

Xxxtentacion Babe: There condition is idk it's in the middle but the co-wash is amazing It depends on which line you grabbed, if you had gotten the original it's made for loose curls that don't need alot of mositure and if you got the one decadence it's mad for tight curls that need lots of moisture

R Reid: I use the line and (I think) I have 4b/4c hair. I don't use the Original for no-poo and conditioner. I use the Decadence no-pp and conditioner instead and those have a LOT of moisture. I've tried a number of lines before including Shea Moisture, Mane Choice, etc but this felt and looked the best to me overall. I certainly get a lot more complements as well when I use this line as well.

Knit Sistah: I’ve got 3c super coily hair and have used the decadence line as well as wash day wonder and it wasn’t slippery in the least. Super cream and arc angel left it a little stiff and flat. I might go back to my Earthtones Naturals curl enhancing gelly. It moisturizers my hair and give a sheen. I want to like Deva products but can’t really commit.

De De L-O-Bailey: Make sure you use a clarifying every two weeks when using this product. So you want have a build up, although this is a must with any product. I love it

Fae Valentine: I'm glad you did this! I usually only see biracial people with loose curls use those products.

Zoe Cluxton: I Love how your hair turned out although, as you said your hair was a little dry the product you used (N poo- and Conditioner) was for curly hair there is a decadent one which is ultra moisturing which is for kinky curly type which I believed that would work best for you. But overall I love all Deva Curls products and I love your results!

ReyAna Hernandez: Not only should you use the decedance lime, but you MUST apply the products on SOAKING wet hair for BEST results. But I LOVE your hair, and I've always been jealous of "black girl hair" because it's so volumous!!!

Linda Lynn: Girl, I did a review on Deva Curl last year and it didn't work for me. I caught a lot of heat behind my review. It sure isn't for my hair texture or type at all. Nice review too!!

Armeta Smith: Your hair looks good!! They have the decadence line for super curly hair. You should try that. I use super cream instead of styling cream! Super cream is for more curly hair types! Great video!!!

Claudine.J: Hi ! i really enjoyed watching your video, because I feel the same way. I tried the DevaCrul Super Cream Coconut Styler with the light defining gel. The definition was amazing, but after when I used my diffuser it was dry and little bit defined. And the next day garbage (sorry) it was sooo dry, fluffly and not defined. I think it's because of the coconut inside the cream for me. I don't react well. So yup thank you for you honest review and sorry for my english

Hngz V: I have polynesian 3b 3c hair thick AF and Devacurls works wonders! it is exy but if you live out in Australia there is really not as many options and nothing has prevented as much frizz during the humid QLD summers like Devacurl has.

Ossie R: I have 4C hair and I use the Decadence line, love it so far and your hair is gorgeous. I use the B’leave-in and Supercream. You have to have wet hair to use this line.

Milly Medlin: I think deva curl is more for girls in the 3a and looser curls ‍♀️ so it’s definitely a no go for me lol. But your hair came out BOMB tho

Jamee Johnson: I use the devacurl decadence line super cream and b leave in hair conditioner this has been the only product that really softens my 4c hair and i can split me hair in half and comb from root to tip I have never been able to do that and it defines my curl... maybe do marketed towards us but there products do work great for our hair checkout amazon usually at least a 30% savings in cost

Ladee T: I only have their super cream and arc angel gel and I love both. I'm getting the b-leave in and decadence one condition.

rachray83: The decadence line stinks. I like the ultra defining gel, it also strangely manages to tangle detangled hair, but its got some slip. It's weird how it foams up but it gives a ton of definition and nice hold

Curl Company of GSO: Try decadence line and the super cream. Your hair looks great.

SneakerTeacher89: I have 3a hair, & I think deva curl is over hyped. The stylers were drying as dirt on my already naturally dryass hair. The co wash didn't cleanse enough. I like their conditioner and treatments but that's it. I roll with Shea Moisture.

OHoneyPot: Never tried Deva Curl and I’m glad I didn’t. Thanks for this video.

Mina Mina: I like Deva Curl Decadence Super Curly line made for black hair! So much slip n very moisturizing!

Melle Sol: I also recommend the decadence line and the supercream

KITTY KAT KATTITUDE: You hairlooked great. I thought about trying deva curl products , but me and my money are not easily parted, and i can find cheaper costing products that work just as well or better.

Taylor Jean: We were taught not to rinse out the conditioner.. like a quick second rinse.. but leaving the majority of conditioner :)

Hanna Bee: Maybe you should leave some of the conditioner in before styling- this is recommended for super curly hair. Also, try using the stylers in the shower on soaking wet hair

Monarnyc R: I love the new devacurl shampoo. I use the deep conditioner.

Raja: For Deva curl they have lines for all curly hair types. For people who have afro type hair, their newest line works.

Sarah Jean: Your curl pattern is absolutely amazing!

Courtney Johnson: You should try the decadence line. No poo decadence, one condition decadence and super cream, they have a few new product now that I haven't tried. A leave in and a coconut stretch cream or something.

King Alston: No matter what u still have to define a curl in hair that needs to be define with any product.some ppl hair naturally curls up.and some hair like mines i have to define it.twist with finger or section with hand

D'antae Johnson: Nah devacurl is definitely for black people it's just not worth dishing out the coins for...it's great but there are many cheaper alternatives

Gena Renee: You should use the decadence line. That’s the only one that works for my hair. And the arc angel gel has a better hold to it

Just S.T.A.R.T: Your whole review was my first impression! Didnt even peep the lack of melanin on the box.

Rodelen: I think deva curl is for everyone but the majority don't wanna spend $25+ on one product but ur hair came out bomb!!

Alexis Ra'Shal: I like it a lot , looks like your curls are elongated and seems like your hair is getting longer

Mansa Kali: Yes it works for black hair. I suggest you apply in the shower as they work best on soaking wet hair.

MoRuSel: I would just like to state a few things. First of all I have to say your hair looks great. Your curls are defined and look so healthy. Second...No I do not work for devacurl or am Sponsored. But It kills me when woman say things like “Black Hair or Our hair?” What does that even mean? My sister is as Puerto Rican as they come. No mix what so ever. My niece is too and they both have your hair type. My hair type is totally different from hers but I have styled her hair many times. It has nothing to do with “Black hair” it’s all about hair texture. What works for one person might not work for the other. The Supercream is designed to work as a setting cream. So it’s recommended you have a base first. It has no slip at all causing all those tangles in your hair. I think if you would’ve started with a leave-in and used this product after you wouldn’t of had that problem. But thats just my opinion. I have been using the supercream & Gel faithfully for years but I hate all their other products. Trust me I’ve tried them all. My sisters hair looks amazing when she tries devacurl products. But my neices doesnt. It’s all about what your hair likes. Has nothing to do with “Black Hair” I hate that that’s even a thing woman say. Beautiful hair though! Keep up the great work ❤️

Hanna Bee: AMAZING! Thanks for doing this review!!!

Belle: Your curls are beautiful even without product.Amazing.

shontapl: I went to a salon to get my hair done and the girl used deva curl products. I was not impressed. My head looked a mess and I ended up washing my hair. I think she was low on product and didn't use enough trying to stretch it out.

LaKendric West: Aww... I woulda never known you had trouble cause your hair is so PRETTY!!!

Dayanara Portillo: You should try the decadence line and the supercream instead

Beautiful Girls: Shea Moisture does the same thing as far as drying out my hair, but Good Luck With That

Tynesha Morris: I loved the first day cuz ur curl was so defined but I’m scared to use deva curl because my hair is picky like it hates gels but it loves smoothies

Angela Christopher: Works fine for my hair. Actually, some of the products can be a bit heavy. I have to be light-handed.

Jupau 07: try the supercream it’s for super curly hair ❤️

Kourtni Graves: Such beautiful curls!!!

Karen Hollins: I love this product I use the bleave in styling cream n gel it has changed my curls they r full

Q 1: Very nice your curl definition, I love their products

Ciera Russell: The no poo dried the mess out of my hair when I tried it

Rosemary Williams: Dove curly hair line does the same thing for my hair and I'm Nigerian. Thanks for this video happy l didn't buy it.

sara F: Try using deva curl decadence and super cream instead of styling cream

Kay Von Kent: First, you hair is lovely! I like what the line did to your hair! You should check out "MahoganyCurls" (Jessica Lewis) on YouTube. She LOVES that brand. And her hair comes out as awesome as yours did. Also, DevaCurl has a "Devadence" line which is supposed to be tailored to more curlier or drier hair types (our hair). Jessica did a review on this line. You should check it out first if you plan to try DevaCurl again. I tried both the original in the trial sizes and the Decadence lines and I didn't like them. Even the Original brand's "Heaven in Hair" Deep Conditioner was drying with no slip. I believe the Decadence conditioner gave me alot of buildup in only two days. My hair was frizzy and dry after even with the Decadence Coconut Creme. I was blessed Ulta gave me the Creme for free when I brought the big bottles of the Decadence. The Arc Angel ( Original brand) gel dried my hair out. I took the bottles and the gel back. Gave the creme to a friend. That was a year ago. If you would like to try the Decadence line, Ulta has a sample box with the no-poo, conditioner and the coconut creme for only $12.00. I was tempted to buy this today, but I put it back because I remembered my experience. But after your video, I wanted to try again. I am older and wiser. LOL. We all ( you and us viewers) should try it together perhaps as a challenge especially if we haven't messed with this in a year. Good luck and thank you for your video!

Cher Jackson: Your hair looks amazing!!!

Talitha Chelsea: I have a looser curl pattern then yours but i absolutely hated the original line, the day after my hair was really dry and i didn’t like how it felt btw i have asian 2c/3a hair that is really thick. So i Will cross my fingers and hope that the decadence line Will work better for me lol

Cindy Who: Deva Curl wrecked my hair. It's a no for me. I have coarse Afro hair that's curly. Your hair looks great though.

perfectprincess25: I tried it but i had a problem with it leaving my hair dry on day 2.. i have 3c hair and i did just like u and used the cream and gel..i was told i need to refresh daily..thats a no for me if i have no moisture for all that money can i get a lil moisture lol

Tiffany: I really appreciate your honesty.

Doses of Jay : Omg we have the same name ☺️ pronounce the name but spelled differently, and your hair looks bomb

Juliet Henley Scioneaux: The decadence line is for ppl who don't have low porosity hair. It has more protein than the original line. When you rinse the conditioner don't rinse it all out. They use it as a leave in also. I rinse more-or-less then half out. You only use a pea size of the styling cream. I use a quarter (coin) size on my whole head. Just smooth n2 hair as u wud a leave in. I use it weekly. Oh when I use the conditioner I add water to my hair after I apply the conditioner and it helps to "activate" it. I can't explain it, but that works for me. I use the gel on soaking wet hair. No problems there I use a modified version of the shingling method (lazy method). If I were to type my hair, which I don't (my hair is very hydrated and coily) I am a 4B on top. 3C on back. 4A on sides. So I hv to adj the amount I use per section. But I don't hv any issues with devacurl products. Oh I'm low porosity so I hv to use the original line.

Jami Rae: I absolutely love DevaCurl products!

Layane De Britto: Quanto você paga neles no seu pais?

Melle Sol: I also like the curl maker gel better than the ultra defining gel

Nikki Brielle: Came out cute! And not too much shrinkage

Brenda Nickles: Come on! The girl said ‘Black Hair’. I knew exactly what she meant, without having to get all politically correct. She basically meant kinky curly hair, with lots of influence from the African gene. That usually ranges from 3c to the 4s, with more emphasis on the 4s. Sheesh. Next.

weirdo sunishine: It looks great!!

Jewels: I swear by the deva curl decadence line!

Raquel Rojas: Your curls are so pretty

WhereIsTheBeach: Your hair has to be soaking wet, like dripping to use these products correctly. Your hair still looked beautiful though :)

Marquis Musik: on point as always!

De De L-O-Bailey: Love it, looking beautiful

Jayne Smith: Can anyone tell are DevaCurl products good for wavy hair?
