It took me years to figure out my hair. It has a bunch of different textures where it's wavy in the back and then in the front. It'S a lot straighter and then I have lots of thick strands that seem to tangle a lot and just get really staticky in the winter in 2012. I cut it into a Bob. I will never do that again and then I cut it to my shoulders. In 2019, but each time I just found that I personally prefer it to be longer. My grow out process is something that I have used as a way to gain knowledge on what my hair needs as far as nutrition for it and deciding the best styles that suit my hair texture. So today I'm going to go over my top 10 tips for growing long, healthy hair, so that may be in 2023. You can transform your own first keep your hairstyle simple, especially during that grow out process. So for me I get a trim about every couple months. I just get it cut straight across, so I try to avoid just putting layers in it because, even though I like that look, I just can't keep track of each layer and how it gets trimmed or if it got trimmed. So, by keeping the cut really simple and straight across, I can tell really quickly and see if my hair needs a trim and just to keep track of its Health number two. I mix up my hair styling techniques, so I'm not quite as adventurous as a lot of different people are with the cuts and colors that they choose. But I like to switch between a Sleek straight look with my hairstyle and then something like this. Where I've got more of a natural wavy, look something that wears really well. If it gets a little bit rough and tumble - or you know, if I just want something that I can wake up and not really have to style, this works really well, but other than that. I'M just going to the gym a lot, and so I like to experiment with different hairstyles there. I wear a lot of baseball caps, so I keep my everyday hair pretty simple. Next, I only wash my hair every three to four days, while I'm washing my body more often than that, like I take two showers a day because I'm going to the gym and then I have a magnesium bath a lot of times to just soak my muscles. I throw my hair up when I'm in the shower all the time. What this is preventing from my hair is a lot of damage by constantly drying it and brushing it. Instead, I do a really great wash regimen, but on the days in between I don't need to do all of that to my hair. So this was a tip that my stylist in Nashville told me to do back when I lived, there is just don't wash your hair all the time every day and style it every day, just like let it do its thing in between washes next use a scalp Scrub so because I have really oily skin, my scalp is no exception, and so the oil and the buildup is really important to actually get out and also with the scrub that you're using on your scalp, is going to do so much for your scalp Health, which Means that ultimately, it doesn't get quite as oily, so the one that I use is a kerastos clay and it works really well at just removing those oils, and it also gives me some volume on my roots on that fresh wash. You all have seen kerastas on my beauty list for years and whenever kerastos asked me if they want to do another video together, I always jump at the chance because they've been my product go-to for so long and I always give them as gifts. I had already purchased them as stocking stuffers for the girls in my life before they reached out to me, so it was awesome, but not only that they have an amazing scent. I recently saw a girl that I hadn't seen in five years and when she hugged me she said, oh, you smell nice and instead of the like natural. Oh thank you. I just blurted out. Oh, thank God, because the last thing that you want to do is hug someone you haven't seen in five years and not smell great. I hadn't tried perfume or anything that day I just simply washed my hair, and so thank you to Kara sauce for not only sponsoring this video but making my friendship last a little longer. Next, I double cleanse and I double condition. I use two different shampoo who's. Depending on the look that I'm going for and same for conditioners, so I go, you know three to four days between washes, so I don't mind if I want a really thorough wash on those days, but the difference is that I do just use a little bit Of product each time so, instead of like using double the product, sloughing it on once washing it out, I like to divide it in two little washes at the same time and that just removes the build up, and then it really cleanses. So my next tip about conditioning is that I always use a detangling brush when I have conditioner in my hair. So a lot of people say Don't just tug on your hair when it's wet and that's totally true. So for me just to move the product through. My strands better, I always have tangle free hair. If I have my conditioner in I'm waiting for it to soak in and I'm just pulling it through very gently, and that creates such a wonderful look. So don't skip on bringing a light brush with you into the shower and just getting all of those tangles out very gently there. Next, I always use a hair oil treatment in the morning and at night. So I've done this for the past two years and I've seen a big difference in the nutrition of my hair. So I use an eight hour magic night serum from Kara sauce at night and then in the morning I use the Elixir Ultima product. That is their original hair oil. That seems to give it a lot more shine and definition and prevents it from being staticky so this time of year I definitely get the static and my hair sort of Tangles from all of my coats and jackets. So without these products I think I would be doomed to have long hair, and it would just be very Tangled. My next tip is that I section and I treat my hair when drying. So I think I have the best job in the world, but one of the fun Parts about sharing content with you guys is all the helpful feedback that I get from professionals and one professional stylist who commented on a past video about my hair told me that Why it takes so long to draw dry, my hair and why it still turned out damp and crippled in the back is that I actually needed to dry it in sections and use an oil treatment. While this seems like it would be so much extra work and time than actually just like drying it and you know, Devil, May care like as long as I can just get out the door fast. That'S fine! It'S the opposite! It saves me so much more time to just effectively put my hair into sections put a little bit of oil through it, and then I am frizz free and it just works so much better, okay outside of Just Hair Care and like which products I use. I eat a really clean diet and I take supplements this was really because of my hormones. They Thrive a lot more on a pescetarian diet, so I eat a lot of fish. I also eat egg, whites and yogurt. So my main protein comes from things like mahi, mahi and sardines and tuna, which I get skip: Jack tuna and that type of thing. So because of this, I'm getting a lot of Omega-3s and then additionally, I take a prenatal, vitamin in and a Biotin supplement. So all of this, I believe, promotes healthy hair and nails and skin. Finally, I use shea butter to tame away flyaways, so this is a really effective thing to use because it has a bit more of a wax feel to where it doesn't weigh down my hair, like something that would be too oily. Instead, it's like treating those broken strands that go along the top of my part and it makes them lay flat without like pressing my hair down too much. So it's more like using a Pomade or something waxy, and it's excellent. If you want a little bit more control on freshly washed hair without having to use something like a hairspray - and those are my tips on basically my general hair care a little bit on how I style it and one really unique thing. I think from all of these tips is that, depending on the look you're going for, you can use different products to get that look so again on those wavy hair days, I'm using a different set of products, then, on the Sleek days they need different things and That'S why I was happy to work with kerastos today, because we all have different hair needs, and I think it's really important to realize that, and I hope that you are just creating such a beautiful look for yourself as you grow out, your hair, potentially or just Maybe these tips would work for your everyday life and, if you like, this video, don't forget to give it a thumbs up and I'll see you in the next video bye. Thank you.

Zeo Argentine: I also cut my hair short and will never be doing it again, it's amazing how much I missed even the weight of it. Will be looking into this Kerastase stuff too as I'm always on the look out for great haircare brands to try and support! Hope you had a great Christmas Bethany

Samiya ferguson: You are going to be an amazing mama and your child is going to grow up surrounded by beauty and love ❤️

Moon: I have fine hair that is silvering now as I stopped coloring it but I want to grow it long and healthy. I got a trim recently and she cut off two inches, and now it’s closer to shoulder length and I miss the length! I love this video! I think diet plays a huge role in hair health. I like to wash my hair every other day though. My scalp starts to get oily if I go longer between washes. ❤

khelix23: If you’re not allergic to cinnamon. You can add 1/4 teaspoon into a new bottle of shampoo. (Regular size) your hair is going to grow faster. But for me longer hair makes me look smaller in height. So I need to have medium to short hair to look balanced also I don’t like layers. I like it simple too.

Stephanie L: You mentioned your hormones Bethany. How do you find hair products you know won’t give you hormone trouble? I struggled to get pregnant years ago because of hormone trouble. Praise God, I have three precious boys now and more in the future Lord willing. But I’m really cautious about products of any kind. How do you decide what to put on your skin?

Dipanjana Kusary: This is telepathy! I just decided that I will grow my hair out this year and was looking up hair care tips so this will be helpful ❤️ hope you had a nice Christmas Bethany and wish you a happy new year in advance

Alyssa Radcliffe: I'm transitioning from belly button length to hip length and I have you to thank for how long my hair has gotten. A while ago you said you keep your hair your natural color and that inspired me to stop coloring mine and I feel that made all the difference. Can't wait to try out these products and see how long my hair will grow to next!

Kimberly Norton: I enjoyed this video! Your hair is very lovely, I have always admired how you wear it simply yet elegantly. In 2019 I started the curly girl method and stuck to it for two years. In that time I also learned a lot about caring for my hair differently and in a more healthy way. I ultimately decided I do prefer my hair blown out but have carried over a lot of the techniques like you’ve mentioned in the video! The best part, besides having much healthier hair, is that I can go 5 days between washes now as opposed to 2 days pre CGM. My go-to hair care products are from Under Luna. ☺️

Julia S: I used to have waist-length hair and used Kerastase whenever I could. One tip for washing thick hair is to dilute the shampoo: my strands are fine but extremely dense (like, ten per follicle), so shampoo almost never reaches my scalp on its own. I keep a small cup in the shower, squirt in however much shampoo I want to use, and swirl in half a cup or so of water. If I pour the diluted shampoo right onto my scalp through soaked hair, it reaches the scalp easily and I can actually get the benefits of the shampoo. Flipping my hair over and shampooing from the nape of my neck helps, too - I used to miss the back of my head when washing b/c all the product would get stuck at my crown. I have short hair now but seeing your lovely hair growth progress does give me a twinge of nostalgia for long, flowing hair.

Natasha April: Brilliant, thank you so much for these tips! My favourite is: *adding oil to the sectioned hair for blow-drying. I have long hair too and do my blowout in sections, but only apply a little oil once my hair is completely dry. I'll be changing that!

forest hiker: Great video! I also have very long hair, (longer than yours, actually), and as a rule I only wash every 3-4 days. Many are shocked, but when I get my ends trimmed (very regularly), I'm always told that's the perfect wash schedule. My hair is straight, and I don't use a blow dryer or any thing other than serum on the ends and a comb. Many compliments received for such a simple formula. Thanks for sharing yours! :)

gypsyeyesprairieskies: Really enjoy the sensible, metered out approach for long hair. Long hair is complex enough esp in cold weather. What a great tip for the drying in sections!! Will definitely try that. Thank you. Xo Joanne

quitelyxie: Perfect timing! Been following your hair tips from your previous hair care vid and it has done wonders to my hair. Grateful! ☺️

Thea Ilona: I've always loved looking at your hair. Such a glorious mane! I was about to join your course a few weeks ago in time for my trip next February but I missed out :( Would you ever do a video on your fitness journey and routine as well please? Merry Christmas and hope you have a fantastic 2023!

Mariana Menegati: Loved the video I'm on the process of figuring out which hair style and length looks the best on me! Do you oil your hair every morning and every night? Or do you do all you said in the video only on hari wash days? Thank you so much for all the helpful tips

Rachel Dee: Yes to a good wash regimen! It took me FOREVER to figure out no styling products/tricks would help if a single shampoo wasn't cutting it in between washes.

Crissy: I thought this video was posted yesterday totally agree with the nutrition! Our hair is mainly made out of protein! This past year, when trying to lose weight, I added more protein to my diet, and I saw so much benefit on my hair and skin! And also I've been taking salmon oil capsules for muscle and joint pain because of an injury! I guess I'm just missing the hair oils!

MIAミア: Hey, Bethany! This was a lovely video. I’m always amazed by your speaking and presentation skills. I am aware that this is not part of your usual agenda, but could you make a video on how to become a confident speaker? The way you carry yourself is magnetic and I take inspiration from that.

Ann Leci: I saw this video before Christmas and disappeared.. I started using these products when you posted that video the first time years back. I love how my hair looks now.. I have a very long hair (belly length) and have been trimming it myself to keep it healthy looking.. Your hair looks gorgeous! Mine is supper straight..(was born to have staright hair). Haven't tried to color it. I like my hair color..blackest of black.

Caitlin Patrick: Hi Bethany! Ahhhh, thank you so much for this video. Out of curiosity, what prenatal and what biotin brand supplements do you use? ☺️

Luciana Maciel: "Overwash hair" it really depends on each hair. Like very oil hair... if you do not wash it once, everyday, can be complicated. Oil makes the hair weak and it falls a lot (of course it depends also on other facts). anyway, still the tips are super good sorry for the bad english and Hello from

DoeRaeMe: Thanx again Bethany one of my 2023 goals is healthier hair❤

Heyvicky hey: Thank you for this inspiring video, Bethany!❤ Could you tell what’s your hairstyle for the night?

Sheila Joy Barredo: What do you recommend to those who lives in a hot humid day to not wash up to 4 days? Under a sun and very sweaty all day. It is different to be in a cold place.

Kashish Nagpal: I love such kind of videos from you. Would love to see more of such content

Imaginator: Your videos are always so lovely and calming to watch. And the music at the end! I love it!

Bianca Monteiro: your hair is gorgeous, love your videos ❤️ happy new year everybody ❤️ much love from Brazil

Samira Sufi: I dyed my hair in 2020, and did not put any color in my hair for 2.5 years and than I finally decided to go lighter about 3 months ago and bleached my hair to get a light brown and it caused so much damage to my hair. I just cut my hair a month ago and now I am also on a journey to recover my hair, and I think that was a sign for me to actually take care of my hair and I appreciate this video. I am learning more and more about maintaining a healthy hair. This journey will def teach me to appreciate my hair more and to be a little more gentle on it.

I'm sorry for arguing, but: I see this AFTER I shave my head

JP: The way you describe you describe hair kind of sounds like you have a natural curl pattern. If you have frizzy hair that probably means you do. You should look into the curly girl method. You don’t have to follow everything but it might help a lot with your hair. ❤

Denise: Your hair is so gorgeous Congrats from Brazil

Penultimate H: Of course it helps to start out with stunningly beautiful hair and face like our host!

D Cherry: ❤You have gorgeous hair ^.^ I lost a lot of hair due to ulcerative colitis flair ups =/ I can't wait for my hair to look fuller and healthy again.

Stela Marcheva: Hii. I have been watching your videos for quite a while and this one popped on my screen. In terms of hair care, how often do you get trims? I feel like I cut mine too often so that is why it is not growing as much.

Maysara Ali: Thanks for the beautiful video Bethany❤ Can you share the brands of the supplements you take plz?

Ece Gonul: Can you share with us the name of the supplement brands you take ? Thanks

Dina Hassan: I was waiting for that video, your hair is gorgeous as you

Cristina MNL: Hi Bethany! Do you place the AM and PM serums on your hair just after washing? Not everyday, right?

Emily Gregoire: I have a seven month old baby and I am so tempted to cut my hair because he is always pulling on it. I need to remember how much more beautiful I feel with longer hair though and it helps to put all of the work long hair takes into perspective.

Caroline Evans: ah I use Kerastase! So glad my hair dresser put me on their products, wouldn’t use anything else now. I use the clay mask as well! so good.

Wena Deligero: Literally my goal next year.

Ishika Yadav: You said you've oily skin, can u do a skincare/makeup video for oily skin please
