Of the many Foster songs that I've recorded, this is my favorite. I hope that you enjoy it. This recording can be found on my CD "Americana" which is available on Itunes at: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/ame... or at : tom roush. us

I Dream of Jeannie with the light brown air borne like a vapor on the summer air. I see her trippin where the bride's dreams play happy as the daisies that dance on her way. Many were the wild knows her merry boss would fall. Many were the blind at war, bought them of genii, with yeah gloating line on the song summer. Air I for Jeanne with the date on smile radiant in black, is warm with winning God. I hear her melodies like yours, gone by sighing grandma earth pond hopes it died, sigh sob and waiting last one now or genie in my heart, hello waters flow for Jeanne, but her life arm straight bar Bart's, around her native blade, her smiles at bay and her Sweet song slow like the dreams that have cheered us and God now, the the shore, while our side Jeannie floating summer floating on the soft summer, you

Jane Campfield: Yes, it's my favorite too. My grandfather called me Jeanie all the time. Sometimes he'd add, Jeanie with the light brown hair. I was 13 when he died but I took special interest in this song, because of him. Aw, how I loved it! I researched Stephen Foster a lot. I watched old movies about him, listened all his songs on whatever I could find them on. In the 60's that wasn't easy! So I checked out books with his compositions in them from the library. I developed a lifelong appreciation for this talented man. Music wasn't a so called, 'business' during his time. He laid the groundwork for songwriters that came after him. He tuned in to the world he knew. His melodies and lyrics are timeless! His work is poetry put to music. I must add that you have the best recording of Foster's songs that I've heard! Are you playing that beautiful piano? It's all just wonderful! Thanks for all the time and work you have put into these recordings for our enjoyment!
