Ellen dyed her ombre hair purple and we filmed the whole proccess for you guys to see! Initally we were aiming for a lavendar ombre, but couldn't quite get Ellen's hair light enough for the colour to take so we ended up with this darker slightly ashy purple instead. We used the Directions semi-permanent dye, so it will wash out eventually but thought it was such a fun and easy way to change up your hair at home for cheap. Hello, everyone, so for today's video we have filmed the process of Ellen Dinah in super hair purple. So this was our first experiment with colored hair dye and we used the directions temporary hair dye. So this was meant to wash out in probably about five washes and initially we wanted a lavender. Well, I wanted eleven Terry. I want your head to get lavender hair. You do need to have your hair as light as possible so that the lighter color will show up and we could have quite get Alan's here as light. So we've sort of gone for like a muted purple and I think it looks really cool and we're total noobs with this kind of hair dye. So this is from the perspective of people that have never done it before. So if you want to see an updated version, maybe after we've done it a couple of times and getting better at it and have some good tips and stuff. Just like the video and leave a comment below maybe it'll hook, all of ya suggest a colour down below. If you think I should try something else and let's get on to the tutorial, /semi fails / kind of whatever footage we got, yeah alrighty, so to get started, you're going to need an old t-shirt and some towels just because it does tend to get a little Bit sloppy with the purple hair dye. The first thing we did was Rhian Brae, my hair we've got a video all about how we did this so link that below then we went on to use this Direction's white toner to try and get all the brassiness out of the hair and lighten it up. A bit you don't really have to be too tidy with this, as you can see, tired, just sort of swapped it on there just make sure everything is fully saturated and you don't miss any sections of your hair. Then we just let this in for 20 minutes. The goal with this was to make the hair as light as possible, but mine didn't really work that well, so we went in here and tried to put together 11 to mix anyway. The first thing you need is some white conditioner. Then we use the directions. Hair dye in the color violet and grabbed an ice cream container, and we filled this up with white conditioner and then added in small amounts of the violent directions dye. The aim is to make the mix one shade darker than you'd like it in your hair. So this is the color we ended up with in the first round, but it didn't actually end up working in the end, which is kind of sad, but we went in for a second go, and this is the color we ended up with. I think to get a true violet color, I really needed to strip down my hair a lot more and make the lot blonder, but we just kind of worked with this color. If you want to use this as a guideline for your hair day for playing the color, we we're too fussy. We just section the hair off into two and then applied it again with our fingers. It'S only temporary wash out dye, so we didn't really see. Is a big deal to get a brush and all that this footage is actually from the first time we did it with the lighter mix a day, but we did the same thing when we went in with the dark mix. Just this weird funky massage technique, and then we took this plastic bag and just sort of threw that over the hair for it to dry. Although in hindsight, I think we should have piled it on top of the head and it probably would have done a better job at soaking up the color and two hours later tada. So this is what it looks like in the end, our really pretty soft, almost a little bit lavender, but a darker purple than we had intended to begin with. I think it looks quite pretty and a little bit more subtle, so we pull this off wearing it to work or school. Love From Bee: Holding colour totally depends on how porous your hair is. And when you strip the colour out of it, it tends to not hold on to colour well. My purple (which was done professionally) didn't hold. It lasted one wash before it was 90% gone. You try to build it up with time and then eventually the colour will stick. But it is such an effort tbh. And bleaching your hair is super damaging no matter how cool being bleached blonde is. In saying that I'll do it again haha. Bc bleached blondes (and girls with purple in their hair) have more fun.
