Don't Forget To Live Your Extra Life.

Are you ready to turn to the dark side today? We'Re talking about all things going from blonde to brown sounds like a simple task, but hell? No, it isn't, and if you do it wrong, you will end up with some mucky ugly hollow nasty brown hair. So today, i'm going to walk you guys through the basics of doing a color fill as well as an example of a fill. So you can really understand why i mixed up the colors. I did how i applied them and what the final results were so that hopefully, when you do your own fill at home, you can use a few takeaways from what i told you about my own formula and apply it to your formula. So, let's first go over the basics. We have to first understand what color filling hair actually means. Color filling your hair is essentially adding the missing pigment back to your hair, because when your hair is blonde or very light blonde level 10, you essentially have very little to no pigment left in the hair, which is making it almost see-through and extremely reflective. When we're trying to go back down to a much darker level, you have to add back that red that orange, that yellow to the hair in order to get a result that has depth and doesn't look hollow now, let's understand contributing pigment. We can check out my beautiful graph right here. As you can see, we have levels 10 through 3 here and we all know that level 10 is the brightest blonde. You can get and level 3 is the darkest you can get. It depends on the color line. You use, you know, there's ones, there's twos and some color lines. You get the point now. Each level has a different underlying pigment, of course, with level 10 we're getting pale, yellow level 9 we're getting light, yellow level 8. We are getting yellow and then down to level 5, which is orange and then level 3, which is red, so this chart actually helps you understand what pigments you need to put back into the hair, depending on which level you're trying to reach with your end result. Miss manny quinn is coming in today and she is a level 10. she's very blonde right now. She definitely went off with the bleach. I may or may not have been a culprit in that, but uh she's blonde, as you will see in a minute. Her goal for today, though, is to be a level six neutral. She does not want any red in her hair, but she wants that rich level. Six natural look because she wants it to be as close to her natural color as possible. We'Re gon na try our best today. All right. First thing we have to do is look at our contributing pigment chart. Now, if we go down to a level six you'll notice that it says, yellow orange, aka, gold and copper, we definitely need that copper in that formula in order to get a result with a lot of depth and a lot of richness, you're going to hear me Say that a million times today, because that is the most important thing of all - is depth and richness, okay. Otherwise nobody wants to see a girl or a guy with some hollow looking hair. It is a pet peeve of mine and i hate it so back off. I also want to keep in mind, while formulating the fill, that she is not trying to have a very warm result. A lot of people put way too much copper in their fills and it ends up being really hard to cover up conceal and once that kind of overall color fades off. You may end up with very orange, like copper, looking hair and people don't want that. So i'm gon na chill with the copper, but i am definitely gon na put it in the formula, but i'm really gon na focus on those yellows, mostly and making sure my fill formula is very warm with a dash of copper. So before we start coloring, let's choose between using a semi-permanent color versus a permanent color to fill and to color the hair. I personally feel like permanent color for situations where you're bringing somebody from blonde to brown is just not necessary. Blonde hair is already compromised. So you really want to add the health back to it, and you really don't have to open up that cuticle too much in order for that color to stick. Sometimes people want extremely permanent results and they do not want it to wash away like at all. So, in those cases yeah sure if they are ready to commit to that darker color go with permanent. Otherwise i tend to stick with demi permanent, because it gives me the perfect amount of vibrancy and depth to the hair without compromising it any more than it already has been. So i use dirty permanent. Whenever i do fills some people also use direct dies. There are really so many ways that you can do a fill, there's no right or wrong way. There'S just preferences, you can definitely use a direct die. I'Ve used those many times before it came out beautiful, but i just prefer to use a demi-permanent color at this point. Let'S get into some color shall we we're almost ready for my client to come in, but first, let's talk about her fill formula in the back room. Follow me we're here in the back room. Okay, great so, like i said before, her desired result, is a level six natural, so we're going to try and give her that as best as possible, we want to make sure when we're formulating our fill, we're only skipping two levels at a time. So, since we are going from a level 10 to a level six, we first want to go to a level eight and then to a level. Six. Okay, we don't want to skip too many levels at a time, or else that's when you get ugly mucky nasty color that we don't want so two levels at a time. So, let's keep in mind, we looked at the contributing pigment chart earlier and we saw that there is orange, slash, yellow in a level six. So we definitely want to make sure we have both orange and yellow in our fill formula and we're gon na want a bit more orange, but not too much because she wants a neutral result. So we got ta, be careful here, i'll, be formulating today with shades eq, which is a demi-permanent color, and let's look at our shades eq chart here. We'Re first gon na go to obviously our level eights, and i definitely want that orange aka. Copper in that formula. So we're definitely gon na go for some 8c, especially because her hair is like very compromised and very dry, and it needs a bit of copper in there desperately so copper for sure 8c got it now. We really want a lot of gold in there too. So i'm going to go for the 8gg. This is just such a beautiful gold color. Let'S throw that in to really amp up that yellow. So we have our orange and our yellow. Now i love to put a natural in there just to balance it all out. The naturals are a very balanced color, so i feel like it helps balance out that fill formula as well. We'Re just gon na put a splash of 8n in there to kind of anchor things down all right. Let'S get to mixing so first i'm going to put in 8c, which is the majority of my formula that is 45 grams of 8c. Now i'm going to put in some 8gg, which i'm going to do 30 grams and then i'm gon na put just a sprinkle of aiden about five grams and i'm gon na put my developer in mix that all up and we're ready to apply. So i just quickly put her hair into three quadrants, basically just the back into one and this sides into two. So, let's just quickly apply a formula now when applying your filler guys, please be precise, with it, there's nothing worse than when you rinse off a fill formula, and there is splotchiness when you're bringing somebody from a very bright blonde like this back to a dark brown. You will see every mistake, so be careful all right. We got our gloss here and uh if this gets all over her don't come for me. Okay, her hair is clearly so effing blonde to start okay, we want to make sure that color is everywhere. Now be precise, but don't take forever. When doing this all right, you can see i'm using a bottle. I'M gon na comb everything through when i'm done. It might be a little messy to start, but we're just gon na get it on there and then we're gon na go through and section everything after and make sure to comb every single piece of hair. You do not wan na miss any hair when doing a fill. You will see it from a mile away like when you have a little spot of blonde shining through. It looks terrible so just be careful but go fast. We don't need to spend all day doing this. Another important thing to do if you're doing this on a client is tell the client that their hair is going to be orange, slash red temporarily, while the process is happening and to not be scared, because some of them will look into the mirror and be like What the are you doing to my head? I thought we were going ash brown. I thought i told you ash. I thought i said no red you're like girl, i'm not doing red, i mean i kinda am but like i mean technically yeah, but no we're already seeing that beautiful, copper and gold tone come through you all right. The fill formula has been applied, we're gon na. Let that process for 20 minutes rinse it off blow dry and apply our final formula at the desired tone and level that she wants. It'S already looking gorgeous, so we're back with the results from the fill. It looks. Amazing it is golden. It is slightly copper. It'S about a level seven and a half, and it is perfect and ready to be colored. This is the part that is make or break okay cause. Listen. You still have time to like fix your errors. At this point you can do another fill. You can make sure your end formula kind of covers up the mistakes of the fill if there are any, but you got to get this one right, because you can only color hair so many times until it stops taking the color. So don't up too many times now we're ready to formulate at a level six because we're going from an eight to a six two levels that is totally okay, so we're going to a level six baby, we're gon na do 6g, because i still want that gold In there i feel, like a natural, has just the perfect amount of gold, but you just don't want red or orange. You know. So it's a very fine line. We'Re also gon na do 6gb, because it's such a pretty color that isn't too golden it's. Like kind of beigey, it's delicious so a little 6gb and a little 6n because it just balances everything out and she wants to be a 6n in the result, as well so 6n to kind of cool things off just a tad, but also still have that beautiful Richness from the g in there and mix it all together, it's gon na make a great color. So, let's get to mixing we're gon na put in 30 grams of 6g and we're going to do 15 grams of 6n and our developer mix it up and apply it same way. We did last time on dry hair and get it on there real, quick comb. It all through make sure it's evenly distributed gorgeous now before i show you the finished results. Let me just add in one pro tip: okay, i'm doing a very basic fill right now, but there are so many ways to spice up your fill. I tend to not do one color over everything i like to do a root formula and an n formula when bringing somebody back they're natural, because most of the time hair is not just one color, you get a more natural balanced result. If you do multiple different shades in the same head, it has a lot more depth, a lot more richness and it's a lot sexier and stylized that way. So for your final formula over the fill, you can totally do a root and end formula. Also, another great tip is to leave some pieces out and tone those later. I love to leave some money pieces out so that way at the end, i can tone that, with like a level eight, so you have kind of a variation of color going on. You have the level six base with level eight highlights, so you can do different things like that, and do it all in one step. Instead of multiple steps like you, don't need to go and fill the hair color it and then lighten the hair again, you can actually do it all at once and leave those pieces out and then tone them with a different toner at the end and another thing To do while doing your fill is using a porosity, equalizing spray. Some color brands have them. You can also just put conditioner in a bottle with some water and shake it and spray that on the ends or anywhere, that's really porous, because what happens sometimes is the color will not grab onto those really porous spots. So the ends of the hair will end up being much lighter than the roots and the porosity equalizer really helps balance things out. So everything takes the same and you get a more even result. All right, miss manny quinn is all finished. She'S. Looking fabulous. Do you want to see her end result she's, looking gorgeous she's having a hard time adjusting to it, she's been blonde for so long she's kind of freaking out a little bit, i'm trying to convince her. It'S okay! So, like be nice to her, miss manny quinn with the brown hair looks like a metal. Her hair is so glossy, so miss manny quinn, she's um. She likes her hair a lot. It'S a big change. You know how it is when you go from blonde to brush she's freaking out a little bit, but i'm trying to convince her. It'S all going to be okay, i think she looks fierce. I mean her hair looks so much healthier than what she started with. I mean wow also, can we talk about the fact that this is the most perfect neutral i've ever seen like there's, no red, there's the perfect amount of gold and the perfect amount of ash in there? Oh, my god, it looks so good. I outed myself today. Damn it looks so rich and vibrant, like this is what happens when you do a fill right? You get beautiful results that look rich, that look like her hair is healthier than what she walked in with. That is the best part of a good film when they leave with healthier looking hair. Yes, we're not twins anymore, though i miss your blonde a little bit. It looks a little bit darker on camera by the way. It'S not that dark. Oh yeah, it's just very natural, looking color you're welcome batch. So those are my easy, simple steps to filling hair. Now, honestly, when i say easy and simple, it's not that easy and simple things can go wrong. Different hair has different porosities different hairs, different levels of damage, and there are so many factors just because this specific formula works for me it doesn't mean it's gon na work for you, so please formulate your own formulas based off of your clients needs okay, don't just Copy mine, i hope that i helped you understand how to fill hair better and kind of simplified the whole process a bit, because it can be very confusing. Thank you for watching, don't forget to live your extra life and i'll see you next time. Bye!

Daniel Pedigo: I'd love to see you do ½ with filler and ½ without a fill. I know they will look very different, but it would be so cool to see the shock factor of a good brown and a greenish mucky brown on the same head

Katelyn Ortiz: Brad!!! We need a whole video about natural reds! I'm always confused when thinking about dyeing or adding other colors or bleaching.

Cece B: I went to a professional salon to go from blonde to brown once. He was so excited about the outcome, turned me around, and all I saw was nasty green. I'm normally not the type of person to say something, but I'm glad I did. He sorta fixed it, but literally for YEARS I felt bad and thought maybe it was just me. Come to find out, through watching Brads videos a decade later, I wasn't crazy. It definitely was green. & that guy screwed up by not filling my hair.

Thai Sonkesak: Brad ! I’m a hairschool student and I feel like the girlies need a series about toning and ways to tone with demi-permanent . I loved seeing Shades EQ in this video, because it’s such a versatile and conditoning formula. Sally’s also sells a generic version of shades EQ I would love to see you try those out.

LifeOfLW: Has anyone tried the red 10 filler from Sally’s???

Immel Off-Road: I dyed my daughter's blonde hair (natural blonde that had been bleached then dyed back to her natural color) to blue black with pink underneath. I filled the hair with red thanks to what I've learned from your videos and went over with the black. It turned out so good! No splotches and soft. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Brad!

Regan O'Callaghan: I'm so glad you did a filling video. So many people don't understand the importance of colour filling. With a level 6 dark blonde or light brown (in some brands) especially a neutral to cool/ashy level 6, if you put on top of blonde (particularly bleach to blonde) hair. Not only is it muddy and hollow. It usually turns green. Like Shrek's balls kind of green. "What are you doing in my swamp!?"

Khalilah D.: Omg I was just thinking about dyeing my curly hair! Not blonde but this is still so helpful ❤️

Sam Thompson: I'd like to also add that if someone's hair is very porous you need to go 1 or 2 levels lighter than the color intended. Reason being is that sometimes the hair will pull darker than originally expected from it being so porous.

Joyan Baker: I wish you released this on Monday! I just dyed my natural brown-black hair blonde a while ago and did pastel pink and purple a while ago. Then on monday i wanted to take out the faded dye so I could change it up a bit. I used a color remover on my hair and it turned GREEN where the purple was. I stuffed my hair in a beanie and ran to Walmart to get hair dye to fix it. So, I got an auburn permanent color (filler) and a black permanent color to try and go back to my natural color. WELL let’s say I didn’t know I didn’t need the filler to be permanent, so I ended up making my hair really dry in the end. It’s all still intact just really damaged

Melanie Ann Plans: This was an amazing transition! So I have a question for you, Brad: My mom is in her mid-60s, and the majority of her hair at her roots is silver/grey, and she wants to go all silver. However, her natural hair color is "dishwasher blonde", and she really doesn't want to bleach it since she has very fine hair. Are they any other options she could use to brighten up the color that's coming in to even things out?

Kristie Horton: Your videos are so informative and fun to watch! Hope you’re having a good day, Brad!

Rebecca Bushee: I have been binge watching your videos lately! Rewatching old ones too for tricks and tips to remove blue out of hair.... Thanks to trying a new salon it looks like someone dumped a blue slushy on my head I love learning the science behind coloring hair and the process. You make it so fun too!! Much love from Vermont

Night Owl: I have naturally blonde hair, I decided to make it dark brown several years ago. I simply used a light brown box dye, then a darker one after that and it turned out gorgeous. No spots or streaks and the depth looked natural. My bigger issue was the fact that my hair grows super fast and it looked like I had bald spots or gray hair as it grew so the upkeep was horrible. Eventually I had to bleach it and go back to my natural color. Dark roots look fine with light hair but light roots with dark hair ages you so much.

Sara Kjeldsen: Yes this is why I dye my hair a cool colour whenever I go from blonde back to brunette. Some people think I'm going through a "phase" lol but it's literally just having fun before going dark again - and it fills in the cuticle.

LetItBeEzee: That’s awesome. Today I went from brown to black. Happy Thursday everyone. The weekend is almost here! Be safe and have fun.

Frances Keller: I went from blonde to brunette and I’m obsessed. My hair colorist did an amazing job ❤️❤️❤️I really don’t see myself going back either lol

Liz Wintz: I went from stained, very light blue-ish hair (that was previously lightened before it was blue) to a beautiful level 3 dark brown by color filling using Redken Shades EQ as well! I did two steps: 6AA which is double auburn (and it looked like straight blood, like I had murdered someone and was cleaning it up at my sink). I rinsed, then my next step was 3G. It came out perfectly! A nice dark natural brown! This was all recommended to me by my stylist (I have a beauty license so I can buy shades eq at my local supply store, not every can do this and I understand that). Brad, you need to make a toner / demi-permanent line that EVERYONE can get ahold of. I haven’t been to very many salon supply stores that sell to everyone (not just pros) that have true demi-permanent color and/toners which would be SO frustrating if I didn’t have a license.

Bela Walton: Brad I am 60 years old and learned so much following you for the last few years. I love you and how you teach . My daughter keeps asking me what I want and I tell her now that I want some of your products for my birthday. That gloss seems super!. Thanks so much for being always there for all of us.

Laced WithLacey: Lord knows I needed this last summer! I had to explain to my hair dresser about filling hair ☺️ it’s okay though we learned together ☺️☺️

Mya Warren: This video is super helpful. I’m actually trying to dye my hair the same color as the fill. It’s good to know that if I don’t like it I can use it for a color fill for a dark brown.

TheMightySnul: I just went from blonde to brunette two weeks ago. It’s a little darker than I wanted for my extensions, but I still love it. My Sally’s was out of the red color fill, but I just used a demi red instead.

Stephanie Contartesi: I want to thank you so much, I looked at many many videos because I wanted to go back to my natural brown, but I couldn't afford to have someone do it for me and yours was the most informative. I took your advice and it came out great.

us here: brad honey, you did such a great job on miss mannie quin that it looked like a totally different mannie quin--really beautiful color with lots of natural-looking depth and richness!

katataksrainbow: This lesson in hair colour is so top tier! I really wish I had known this info a 2 decades ago when I was addicted to dying my hair and ended up with orangutang orange hair after attempting to dye it dark chestnut brown after bleaching it myself and ending up with very yellow hair! I had another friend attempt to go from light blond to dark brown with no red undertones which resulted in turning her hair green!

Rachael Jenkins: Hey Brad! I recently had this problem with my hairdresser, he went from a ten to a 7 without grilling my hair and now it looks very hollow, what can I do? Thanks for always putting a smile on my face!

ellectron: I went from level 10 blonde to brunette at home by filling with DP Hue pigment-depositing conditioner. The immediate result was a gorgeous auburn brown that filled my desperate cuticles without having to be a ginger, and today I’m completing the final step towards my goal with a neutralizing demi - and I’ll be doing your butterfly cut! I so appreciate your advice, not just because my hairstylist friends have become so amazingly successful that I can hardly afford them as often as I want to see them, but also because I really love doing my own hair as a hobby and you give such good advice. My friends who are professionals who will give tiny pointers but mostly will just yell at me not to touch my own hair

Christina Laub: Thank you so much for adding this video to the Internet! It has been so hard to find good videos that actually talk about this and as a very platinum white blonde level 10 who has thought about going darker this has been invaluable information for both myself and to bring to my hairdresser. Thank you Brad!

Ashley Wilczynski: I just did my hair this way a few weeks ago. It turned out nice, just a bit darker then I had wanted but I actually love it now.

Elizabeth wofford: The end result is almost exactly my natural color that I need to achieve! I've paid for a color match and color and what a waist of $$! I got pretty close o my own but this video really helped.

Kayley Fisher: So how do you correct hair that was not filled prior to dying it brown? Do you have to bleach it and repeat the whole process whilst ensuring you fill the hair? Or is there another way around it to achieve good results? ❤️

veronika weekes: This tutorial is amazing! I followed it to the tea and my color turned out great. I posted a video of myself following Brad’s tutorial on my channel!

Callmeash: Thanks brad!!!!! I make wigs and this was helpful because my clients like to switch up their color! This was helpful!

Rachel B: Dyed my hair with honey blonde highlights to a level 6 mocha brown (permanent dye) a week ago using salon quality product. I filled it first with a copper gold demi-permanent dye. The results came out great. However, four days later my color had already faded, and now a week later there's not much difference between the way it looked before versus now. The golden color has pulled through all the areas previously highlighted. I followed all the directions on the box and let it process per the alloted time. I'm so disappointed as I never expected it to fade so quickly. Not sure what I did wrong.

artsylcb: Wait, in your second formula - you said you were using 6G + 6GB + 6N, but you only showed us how much 6G and 6N you used. How many grams of 6GB did you use in your formula? And what level was your developer? I need to do a fill on myself, and am currently in the 7ish, brassy orange range, like your model after her first fill. I’m usually a finished brunette like miss Mani Quinn.

- Reagan: That’s actually a gorgeous ‘natural’ red you achieved in your first fill!... EDIT: WHOA THAT FINAL COLOR

Rashelleeexo: what if you're going from semi permanent purple and you're blonde underneath and going from that to a dark brown? send help

Zoe Joyce: Recently has my overly highlighted hair back to close to my natural level 5ish hair and I love it

Pandora G: DYED RED TO BROWN is a video I need. Show us girlies how to abolish that red from our strands permanently

NikkiCole: I learned in beauty school 10 years ago, to fill the hair, then directly go over it with the desired shade, no rinse. So so sooooooo old school, and it HAS worked for me, but saturation is key!

Leah Simpson: I used a brown protein filler when I went from platinum to brunette. It was easy. But I definitely tried it plenty of times when I was younger and ended up with the nastiest colors.

Bella: I been blonde for 3 years and two months ago I decided dye my hair a 7.13 it turned out cool and a pretty color (but more darker than the box) two months later my hair looks kinda muddy (not green) I forgot that if you want to go from blonde to brunette you have to fill the hair with the pigments that you lost due to bleaching. So what I do know? Can I put an auburn color on top and then dye my hair brunette again?

Jeanette Flores: Love your videos…when going to a salon to fix this b/c you dnt want to mess it up yourself how can you find the perfect salon? What questions should you ask? I went blonde just 5 months ago…I wanted the smudge root technique but the salon i went to missed big time so I visited another salon 2X since to even out color on my naturally dark brown hair & now after 3.5 mo of growth I have my natural dark with a bit of orange/brown and the bleached yellow/white….I want to go bk dark…not to mention it’s an asymmetrical bob right now that’s growing out but frizzy so I’ll have to blow dry and straighten for it to work. So what questions should I be asking when I go in to fix it? I would really appreciate your response ☺️. Thanks

Eva Beaty: Wow, I've BEEN FIGHTING WITH MYSELF for SEVEN MONTHS about going from a 9 to a 6, my boyfriend has made several comments that I should. But NOW, summers coming...and this video just CONFIRMED I'm WILLING to commit to the root bleaching process and toning bullshit to not be brunette. Thank you Brad. I know you don't like brown either.

AthenaBeth Black: Wow- 35 years later I finally understand why my hair turned a grayish purple when I tried to go from platinum to dark ash blonde (using a box dye of course)!!

Jessica Wilt: I have natural red/orange curly hair and would love some tips on how to dye it different colors. Us redheads don't have a lot to go on, thanks!

Samantha bridges: Love when you make videos always so helpful

Winter Hayes: I love you Brad mondo, your amazing and I hope you know that people out there truly appreciate you!

Destiny De La Rosa: I’ve been wanting to go back to my natural hair color dark brown but I love the natural color you did

CarolinaGirl: Brilliant filler results. I really needed some Brad Mondo today. Thank you for the new videos.

Rebeca Rojas: Thank you for your video I currently have blonde highlights I’ll over I want to go back to my natural black color… (it’s like a deep shinny black) what colors should I use for the filler and which black hair color do you recommend ?

Vega: I remember I had to add copper to my hair before I went brown. I loved it so much I almost stayed that red.

karen tonks: Brad where was the 6GB beige colour in your formulation? 9.33 ...I would love to know why you changed your mind?

Landry Pants: Hey Brad love your videos so so much BUT!!! With all respect i think it would be cool for you to do a video for only natural red heads you may not get all the views but i do think it would be quite helpful i am a head head myself and it is hard to get good tips and ideas for my hair again i love your videos so so much and i hope you have a gorgeous gorgeous day ☮️

Angie Raterink: It would’ve been cool if you did half of the head with the red fill and half without so we could really see the difference and why it’s important to fill it

Casey Coats: Very useful video!! I'm actually a licensed cosmetologist but, I don't work at a salon currently. I recently cut 7 inches off my hair & dyed it platinum. I'm ready to color it darker for Fall & I'm so glad I watched this 1st because I completely forgot about filling my hair & it would have looked a mess!!

TheNyrhtak: I’m finishing my quad tomorrow in hair school- this helps me so much!!! ❤️‍

Heidi Zellman: Brad, this is why I will not ever try to color my own hair. You have a wealth of knowledge and that is valuable and worth every penny!

mandyjb77: Brraaaaadddd! I needed this video two months ago! Live and learn right? I mean, I was probably only 7/8 on ends but kinda did that attempt at making it level 3/4 in one step. And yeah, it showed. I ended up using the vitamin C method and it really did pull some of the excess dye out of it and it looked much better.

Paul ?: Omg used this technique with my housemate it sooo works . Thanks so much xx

Simplyxboba: Even though i have no desire to dye my hair these videos still entertain me Thanks Brad!

Alf: Thank you Brad just the video I was looking for, as always your the best!

Yolanda Schmidt-Thomee: The coloring process starts at 6:07

_randomtrashpanda_: I actually really love the full color. It’s a moment in my book.

Sheogorath: This is perfect, because I want to go from level 10 to 6mb. Thank you ❤

Alise N: WE NEED MORE OF THIS CONTENT!!

alex doingmyparttohelptheplanet: Hi Brad you have amazingly informative and helpful video, I am a diy at home hair dyer I mainly do family and my fiancées hair. Well I also do my own hair and that is where I need grave assistance I have extremely short hair about an inch maybe 2 and I was able to go from dark brown almost black to platinum to blue using the help of your videos with more research on the best way to heal hair after bleaching it to 8 times at 20 mins each whith deep conditioner and Virgin coconut oil and olive oil. I wasn't about to section the hair do to the size so I was trying to get streaks of different blues and purples but it all just kinda looks a poseidon blue with a purple tint what can I do to fix it or how can I do it next time???????? Please help

Ivan Katić: I dyed my hair scarlet red with Bix dye but i followed your videos and it tuned out super good

Alyssa Heeter: I am a huge fan and am early. Love your amazing work that you do. Stay strong minded and healthy!

Pandora G: Such a coincidence this is what I wanted to do next on my hair journey.

Ayse Clark-Carter: Such fun to watchand great tips

CeeCee: I went to a supposedly good hair salon to go from blond back to brown and they didn't do a fill color like this at all! I could've used box dye and saved myself a ton of money!

Joan Cox: You’re so much fun, Brad. Loved the video❤️

Addison: Why would you use both 08GG and 08C instead of just getting a two-for-one result with 08WG? Is it because 08WG doesn't have enough of an orange/copper undertone? Love your videos, Brad!! I've learned so much from you <3

Callie Cocchiola-Holley: Wow that looks gorgeous!!!! I love it!

Mind of Mer: if you want to get pure ash tones would you still fill with orange? and is there toners for brown hair to make them more ashy?

Kaylie Hobbs: Literally exactly what I had done three months ago and it is FINALLY looking brown instead of the BLACK it was for a while, aka NOT the dark blonde my natural is. Should I just wait for it to lighten naturally? Or will it fade a tab more?

marcie wyatt: When I was 16 years old everybody dyed their hair with box dye, it was the popular thing to do in the late 80's and early 90's... I had dark hair that I would dye dark brown so it came out that harsh pitch black color that would fade to an auburn/orange shade and it kept fading every 2 months so I had to color it again and I kept this up until the age of 28 when my hair started shedding really bad so I had to stop. Now at age 50, I have salt and pepper gray hair, I don't worry about having depth and dimension to my hair or highlights or lowlights, I am just glad I still have hair on my head. I wish I had thought of other ways to express myself anything other than messing up my hair. Sure the hair grows back but my scalp is another story.

Anne G: I was surprised how much G was used in the final mix. Having trouble wrapping my head around why that worked. Also, was the GB included? It was mentioned in the formula but not how much was added to the mix. Perhaps that balanced the G?

Arnya: Your "client" sounds exactly like me I HATE having warmth in my hair but I'm going from half head bleach highlights down to brown your videos are so helpful hahaha

Helen Kouma: Me watching this a million times so that I can do it on my own. Literally went to the hairdresser today and left a level 8 blonde. B*tch I wanted light brown. I even asked her about the fill and she was like we don't need it

javruletz: Hi there! I know my question is off topic, but... Do you think I can dye my hair dark ash blonde 6.11 from medium chestnut 4N without bleaching it first? I don't actually want it lighter, I just want it cooler Thx for your time

Tracey U: In the video, for the second color formula, you mentioned adding 06GB but when you mixed the formula you didn’t show it added, only 30g 06G & 15g 06N. Did you add 06 GB and if so, how much? Thanks

Hollzie: It always seems like whenever Brad does his best DIY videos with Miss Manequin....her head wants to pop off the swivel and spin around like the possessed Linda Blair in the movie "The Exorcist" lol! Either way Brad always endures the troubled Miss Manequin and creates the best content ever!!! I LOVE YOU BRAD MONDO!! ❤

Dianna Carney: You read my mind! I’m using your guide ASAP and I’ll tag you in the results

Mimi Rogers: The beginning of this made me belly laugh loudly in my quiet house and scared the hell out of my sleeping pup another great video!

Tateyama Ayano: Love your videos Brad!

kyla: i’ve went from black to blonde before, honestly killed my hair

MECFSWarrior: Great video, I love content like this

mfern64: ScienceI’m going from light to dark the old fashion way. It’s probably going to take 2 years, but I’m patient. Enjoying the process. (I’m old. My natural is coming in level 6, white and silver)

agapeLOVEpietas: Hey beautiful! Thanks for another amazing video!

fairydragonprincess: About a decade ago filled my level 10 blonde with a semi permanent hot pink …. and then used a level 5 brown semi permanent brown …. it turned out to be a sassy rich shade of brown … ( pharmacy colours not salon ) my upmarket hairdresser loved the shade and was keen to know how I achieved it … I am about to fix/ return to brown again after a tragic salon balayage … level 8 … so if I follow your guide I should be going for a mango shade .. to achieve a cool level 6 brunette ( am naturally a level 6 ) But what would happen if I filled with purple and then went with a neutral level 6 brown .?

goldiebeckyj💛: This couldn't have come at a better time for me!! I went ultra blonde today and it's a bit much, mainly platinum, a few orangey tones & basically fried I need to fill tomorrow & great tip to fill warm level 8 and then do a level 6 - think I will do that, thank you!! Xxx

Zennyxxx: This looks so good , and you make it look so easy , but I guess it's not

Sarah Lynch: What do you recommend when the brown starts to fade? Reapply the same demi permanent color or do a glaze? Someone please help me my hair stylist filled mine and then went brown but it’s already fading. I don’t go back for 6 weeks, what can I do at home in the meantime to make it less reddish?

Beatrice : Should hair always be filled with warm colors or could you also fill with reds and coppers with cool undertone?

Anna: Hey Brad I have a question! I put purple and blue in my hair and those colors stay the longest and I dyed my whole head. I was going to bleach my hair soon and I was wondering if the bleach will get rid of all of that purple and blue.

Laura Brym: I have a very dumb question - I have dark roots with ends near level 10; when filling , will I put the first step all over to bring it all to the same color, or just the ends? Thank you!

kat: I literally just went to salon and did this to my platinum blonde hair like two weeks ago. Already have an appointment set in April to go back blonde

Madisonkayb: Tell me why I went into a salon with that level of blonde, had them make me a 6 neutral brown, but the lady did NO fill. 3 days later I literally looked like a had a lake on top of my head. A SALON
