Here is the last video I filmed on my Girls Weekend to San Francisco with my friend and her daughters.

This is a High Ballet Bun that is good for {of course} ballet, or for formal dances, or something easy to do during the summer months when it is hot outside. {The girl is not my daughter, but the teenage daughter of my best friend.}

Feel free to tag your own photos of this hairstyle with: #CGHBalletBun

Enjoy!

Hey everyone. Welcome back to California for one last video on high bunm, and this is the one we're calling the ballet bun or the Cinnabun.. So the great thing about all of these high buns, but in particular this one is just that they're super versatile.. You can wear them for an updo for prom or you can just wear them right, walking off the beach or out of the pool.. So this one we have gone super slicked back.. You can either do that by wetting, your hair or adding gel to your hair or whatever you're comfortable doing, but you want the really slicked back look. And we have gone ahead and wet her ponytail down as well. And on this one you are going to twist. It tight tight, tight. And then twist as tight as you can around that ponytail holder until you run out of hair. And then, of course, depending on your hair length and stuff, you would add bobby pins to hold those ends in wherever they land. And it makes A great little ballet, bun or Cinnabun., And if you want for other ideas, you can Google the Kardashian sisters and look at the images there, and it will show you all the different ways that they wear a high bun to be very fashionable.. And then, of course, just add a little hairspray and you're ready to go. See you later

LaurenAndChloe: I did this hairstyle for dance and it was perfect thank you xx I also got lots of compliments.

seanogrady01: I'm a 28 year old widowed father of two girls with long beautiful hair and while I've always been able to do simple braids and ponytails I wanted to learn more and you've helped incredibly. I love the look on their faces when I get their hair up and it looks good, so I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you.

Julyanna Monero: Super cute and easy, love it. Could you keep doing more teen hairstyles? I'd love to see more. (:

Delila R: I've been doing this for the past week!!! Thanks for the video!!

KrystalClear1996: Can you do a tutorial for the 'Messy Bun' for shoulder length hair please ? It would be greaat and muchly appreciated ! By the way, thankyou for this tutorial, now I can add 'Ballet Bun' to my list of 'Can Do's' [for myself, that is]. So thanks heaps !

Kallie1006: These videos are so helpful! I love them (:

Lindsay Kellett: simple but beautiful!

KrystalClear1996: That's so easy ! And super cute too..!

Faye Tan: Just an advice, if you are planning to do a high bun for dancing classes, use a hairnet or add bobby pins all the way around, or else it wouldn't be too secure. :) PS: Your daughter/model has beautiful hair!!!

hiba: i do this with my hair when it gets realy hot. i can do a messy version in less than a minute and it realy helps with the heat.

Jenna Grosh: omg ive been doing this bun for years just to wash my face. i had no idea i was doing a ballet bun right hahaha. thats the blonde working in my head :)

dedevonne: I have my hair cut in layers so it's really hard for me to do this without little hairs sticking up or coming out! haha!

Chloee395: I had my hair like this every day when I was on holiday!

sadhbhkelly_: This helped alot for ballet thank you

kennaem1: Actually, a top knot is when you braid the high ponytail and wrap it around the base of the ponytail. The general idea for a ballerina bun is to twist and wrap around the base. It doesn't neccessarily have to be low, high, etc.

Mindy McKnight: @seanogrady01 You are my idol, Sean! Stories like yours really keep me motivated to keep doing this! Big hugs to you and your girls from all of us!

yulisa degollado: I have been doing this bun (:

Chapmangl7: these never work for me sadly :( no matter how much hairspray, bobby pins, or elastics I use :( So I use the braided bun tutorial and it works great! and my hair is so thick that it looks the same :) thanks!!!!

Julia Moore: How do you come up with these ideas? I've done ALOT of your hair styles! All my friends compliment themm and they look AMAZING):

xoxoMsMicahxoxo: I've got that island girl super thick wavy hair and when I used to dance for a team we had to do high buns and high ponytails super slicked back. It takes quite a few tricks to get it to stay. I was the hair spray queen, You've got to pull the ponytail as tight as you can first and slick with gel then add the tie and finally hair spray. The hair needs to be twisted super tight before putting into a bun or else it falls out.

Kristyymcg: Love this!

Virginia Hendricksen: Lovely. If you are actually doing ballet however, you'll need many more pins and possibly a hairnet. This style also looks beautiful if done with a long simple braid wrapped into a bun.

Madison Hunt: my hair is the same way, but i use gel or extra hold hairspray and it works great! - Madison

caitlin Callahan: THANKS SO MUCH I HAVE SHORT HAIR AND I LOVE IT THANKS!!

WhyNettieFly: I have medium length and very fine hair: any adjustments I need to make to this hairstyle? Also, I'm considering this for work/uni, as I find it appropriate: am I so kiddin' myself or can it work nicely? Thanks, your hairstyles could save my hair routine :)

Sophielolable101: u should make a tutorial on how to make sock buns... i know how but its a good idea for a quick and pretty hairstyle... by the way i love all ur tutorials... :3

NeverEndingPromises: I. LOVE. UR. HAIR. TUTORIALS! Best on YouTube :) <3

Gabby Heckmann: what i do is i twist my hair and do everything like you did, but then instead of using bobby pins, i put in another hair elastic as if i were putting my hair in a pontail. it works a lot better, its quick, and it stays A LOT longer

mrandmrsjane: Um... I have a question: I have layers (a lot of them), and I want to do this, but every time I want to twist the ponytail all of the hair comes out of it. Do you know what I can do against that?

Delaney Howell: super pretty!

McKenzie Jones: Yes, I have bangs and I do this all the time.

Lauryn Green: This bun look really works! I tried it today and it worked perfectly!! Everyone that wants or needs a new bun look This video is the one for you! This video is wonderful! Please do not judge me!!❤❤

Sarah Jane: I am a dancer so for ballet you might want a tighter bun. You could also use hairpins which are a little easier and more convenient when doing buns!

Mindy McKnight: @IBakedYouSomeCookies Yes, I did this all the time back when I was a cheerleader! Thanks for reminding us!

Morgan Symonds: @xoxoerikaxoxo88 put it up wet, or use gel :) im a dancer and one girl in my class has SUPER curly hair, and it works for her, so it might work for you too :)

electragoldnails: i have difficulties pulling my hair into a high ponytail because it is so thick. When i put it up high, it just slides down and by the end of the day it's a low ponytail. could you give me some tips? or could you make a video on it? it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

姫リン: Make a ponytail that you hold with your hands only, and then add a lot of gel. Comb it through until it looks like you want it to, and then secure the ponytail.

ulovejay tele: I DO BALLET AND MY BUNS ALWAYS COME LOOSE WHILE DANCEING IM GONNA TRY THIS

Lindeau: This is what I do for work, because my hair is thin. People ask me all the time how I do it, and it's not that hard to see. ;P

SunnyDealio: What if you have layers? I find it makes it harder to make a bun like this, but I love them! Any tips?

Sara: Ahh. My hair is super thick as well. I know how hard it is. My channel is dedicated to helping those with thick hair ! :) come learn with me :) My suggestions would be to try splitting it into different sections :like two ponytails then try working with it. I'm assuming you have a lot of hair. Also, homemade or bought rose water ( you can add a little or do a conditioning treatment) adds flexibility to hair. I hope this helps!

BZBreviews: If I had more hair this would work great! As it is, my hair is really thin, so a high bun looks pathetic on me without a hair donut.

Miriam Elizabeth: @SunnyDealio I think if you just slick it down with gel and add lots of bobby pins, you should be fine. :)

MENKA SHARMA: very easy n beautiful

Sharp7937: I love Your bun it's so pirfect

scarlett Holloway: very beautiful

Rachel: This is more of a top knot ^_^ ballet buns are generally lower, much flatter, and very very secure. WIth ballet buns, you also should wear a hairnet! I would change the title :) LOVE YOUR VIDEOS

Naqvi News: beautiful

sunflowermaria: @cutegirlhairstyles I would really like to see hair dos for special events, I'm a teen. Thanks!

Haley Holz: I love her hair color! Is it natural? I am interested in getting that color!

makenzie wilkinson.: I like how the girl just smiles for a few seconds then stops lol

keyholes: @angelcake12312 You can still do this with thick hair, you just need more length since the coils of your bun are going to be larger.

Kayla White: I like it when your do the hairstyles on your children better, I do a lot of your styles on my little sister and I find when you do a tutorial on your children it makes the look appear more child friendly so I can do it on my sister. These past couple looks look less like they'd be on a child.

Jenna Kandeel: Cute! Like it(:

Jennifer Dutka: as a ballerina IT JUST KILLS ME to call it a ballet bun (which it is but not a modern one because it isn't flat) and the fact she used 1 HAIR PIN and not half a bottle of hairspray

Alejandra Chacon: I like how she stops instantly smiling after the camera moves away from her face.

CuteChic72: i do this on my hair all the time, it's just so quick and easy, but i usaully use another elastic or clip instead of a bobbypin

Jasmeme: OMG You're daughters face's almost look like you'res soo beautiful life <3

MagoLerio: Hello...see you in Italy this summer? I really love this bun and I'm happy because I'm able to make it :D

Pauline Adkins: how would you be able to take a ribbon and make a streak through the bun?

Juancho Nierva: Can this hairstyle work for short hair?

El Lauren: I've never seen her before but she looks allot like Brooklyn and Bailey just with red hair

Mindy McKnight: @fluffyfan07 Oh, this is not our last video... this was the last video hat we filmed when I was in SF on vacation with my friend. We will be filming many, many more hairdos in the future! Keep checking back!

Sheila Hagerdom: With spanish subtitles will be perfect.

ihateliltay: If I use hair spray and spray the end of the bun without a pin does that works?

A Google User: Cute!!

kendal alana: This is cutee, but i would wear a headband just to add to the look :)

ashley watson: i do this every day and my hair isnt lyke straigt i have naturally curly hair and it tangles everyday!

Ali Tamay: Ⓑ¤Ⓔ¤Ⓐ¤Ⓤ¤Ⓣ¤Ⓘ¤Ⓕ¤Ⓤ¤Ⓛ¤ Very beautiful presentation ✯ Ʈɧɑŋқ ƴσυ I wish you a pleasant and sunny summer day With love - hugs and kisses

Julia: @AugustGrey you can do it with bobby pins but I do it with a biiiig hairband, because I have thick hair & it won't work out otherwize.. plus I think it's much easier with that hairband.. :)

Ashley Granny: how old is your daughter? I think it would be really cute if she did a few of her own hair tutorials on your channel!

Sara: same here girl.Im all about thick hair. there isnt enough for it!

ExquisiteSarcasm: Really cool

glitter gal: Love your vid

Asia leong: I have trouble slicking back my hair because it's so thick!

Marta Leite: Hey, i am a real ballerina and this can work...

SunnyDealio: @LovedbyHim4Ever Thank you!

Tanzila: Now i understand why my bun keeps falling out

Kinsey F.: Well at a performance you would need like a whole pack of Bobby pins or hair pins so it doesnt fall out on stage I know I use a lot for my performances

supercreampuffy: what about the reversed braid?

Golden Em: I have the same problem but mines thin!!! My hair is also layered so bits of hair stick out and the pulled back part goes all bumpy and wispy!!!

Ashley Yvanauskas: okay thank you :)

keyholes: @d4rlk Try hairsticks. :) They work better for me than pins, and when you're just starting off you can try child-size chopsticks or pencils.

BINISH SHEHZAD: I like it

bubbles62ful: how do u do a bun without bobby pins?????

nailbiter64: @mssanchez122 she mentions in the description that she is the daughter of her best friend. Hope that helped! =)

Coral Reef: I have tried this on myself and i couldnt get it in place is there a certain place to add the bobby pins? My hair is layered and it kept messing up.

Kendall Gay: I'm a dancer an this may stay for school but if I even thought about going to dance like this it would fall out. For a real ballet bun you need at least 4 hairpins and about 10 bobby pins and a hairnet gel and hairspray.

Vivian Luong: she said that you can use as many bobby pins as you need, and another ponytail holder for extra security^^

Dawn Lanoue: can you make a  normal sock bun because i do not know how to make one

Maureen Sturrock: its not as easy when i do it on my own

Emma22: Does THE hair just stay there with one Bobby pin!? I allways have to use Like 15 Bobby pins

Anna Wisch: To sucre the bun even better get the bobby pins that are a u shape and use those. But in the pack there are two sets of them and one is weaker than the other so bend them gently and if the bend easy those are the weak ones and i always just throw them away. I got this tip from my ballet teacher because i keep complaining about how the bobby pins just keep popping out not falling but more like poking out of my bun and she said to use the bun pins she called them.

John Lowes: I love your videos I love Brooklyn & baileys channel 2 !

Myeah: hey there, do you live in SF? we are doing a study on instructional video creators and i would like to use you! please email me at nicole@instantinsightslab

paperbellahere: @seanogrady01 That is so sweet! My heart goes out to you.

ballerinagirl100: how did you use one pin!

SGmom2: @CuteGirlsHairstyles Oh Venice is just lovely! We spent a few days there last summer.

Kirstieeebug: @joannagay I don't think this style is meant for dance, it's just called a "ballet bun." Otherwise there would be more bobby pins and such involved.

CollabxLPS: wet it my cousin's hair is SUPER thick and i didi this bun on her and i had trouble with it at first but i wet and and it came out fine and if that doesnt work try asking somebody else to do it for you
