I know it sounds very cliche, but when i tell you it's a game changer, it is a game. Changer, hey youtube! What'S going on super excited for this video, if you are new to my channel, welcome to my channel, i'm a cosmetic kim specializing in natural hair care and the creator of curly chemistry, where i teach you guys how to understand ingredients from a cosmetic chemist perspective, and I also help you guys start hair care lines as well, and today we are in a brand new year. Okay and a lot of you guys have some hair goals. Hair length goes so we are going to be talking about hair growth, okay, but not just hair growth. But what are some ways to grow? Your hair without using oils oils have been the go-to for hair growth. You know diy recipes and hair growth this, but there are other ways to grow your hair outside of oil. You know so i will be sharing those methods with you stay tuned, okay, so the first myth is going to be hair growth, serums, okay, so these are formulations that are going to be water based. I want to say about 80 to 90 percent, maybe a little bit more of the formula is going to be water and now what makes it a hair growth serum is that, typically, these hormones are gon na, have either extracts within them or some type of peptide Peptides are little small amino acids. Some very common ones that are responsible for hair growth is biotinyl tripeptide one and acetyl tetrapeptide three. Now. What makes me so amazing is that every function in the body has to go through some type of signaling pathways, almost like a door that says yes, no, go! Stop it's like a door, it's a pathway! Now these peptides are known for activating signaling pathways are known for promoting hair growth so that you can get longer length, thicker, hair, all things that you want, and on top of that peptides are known for inhibiting five alpha reductase. This is an enzyme that is known for inhibiting hair growth, so by using a peptide that can help to inhibit this enzyme, that's great because that means more hair growth within your hair follicles. You know now some brains that do have peptides within their hair growth. Serum is the ordinary: they have a hair growth serum out currently and then curl smith also has a hair growth serum that has peptides within it as well. So if you're interested in checking out peptides and seeing how your hair responds to it definitely check those out. Okay and number two is going to be so cliche, but i'm going to say it anyway. Water is an amazing hair growth method. I personally don't think it's talked about enough, but water is amazing because your roots need to be hydrated and the best way to hydrate. Your roots is by drinking water, daily, hydrated roots lead to healthy, hair and hair that is flourishing and growing the water that we put on our hair. When we are showering that does not go deep within the hair roots, it only stays within the cornea sites. The top layer of our skin, so it doesn't go deep within the follicle. So in order for our follicle to really be hydrated and really get the nourishment that it needs, we have to be drinking water. On top of that, if you are taking a hair growth, vitamin or any type of vitamin in general, you really want those nutrients to absorb into your body. So if you want better absorption from your vitamins that you're currently taking you're going to get a lot of that when you increase your water intake me personally, i'm not a big water drinker fan, i kind of have to make myself drink water, but i like tea And tea is a form of water, it is water. You know, so that helps me a lot when it comes to increasing my water intake. So do what works for you? Maybe it's seltzer water. Maybe it's flavored water. Whatever you got to do to get those hydrated roots going, so she can start seeing some flourishing hair on a daily basis. Okay, so number three is going to be supplements. Okay, i'm not talking about biotin, i'm not talking about msn, because i feel, like everyone talks about those two. Let'S talk about vitamin d: okay, vitamin d is responsible for new hair growth and it also helps to prevent premature shedding, and a lot of you guys have issues with just a lot of shedding going on shedding is normal too much, and not so much so increasing Your vitamin d intake, it is recommended, take about 2 000 ius per day, even better. If you can find a liquid vitamin d, the vitamin d would be a great supplement to add to your regimen, okay, okay number two is going to be zinc. Zinc is great for strengthening the follicles, promoting hair growth as well. You don't hear too much about zinc, but zinc is a great option as well for hair growth, a good daily dosage would be around 30 milligrams per day, and next is going to be silica, which is amazing for your skin and your hair and your bones and Your body, it's just it's just great, it's known for strengthening the blood vessels and also increasing circulation to the scalp blood circulation. Key key for hair growth, there's a high amount of silica and rossell clay. So if you're, looking for, like a detox clay, mask check out russell clay, that's definitely a hidden gem, one of my favorite ones to use um, but tonight is cool. But roster was my favorite because of the content. The high content of silica within that clay so check that out as well. Okay and last but not least, it's going to be getting scalp massages. That is probably like the most cheapest outside of water. Um. Ways of you know: promoting hair growth because scalp massages are going to stimulate the skin and the vessels and the blood and remember blood is hair growth. Hair growth is blood. You need blood for your head to grow and really getting that massage that stimulation going on is going to give you some increased hair growth. Of course, this would probably be more of the tedious options, but it still works. You can do it by hand or you can get like a little. You know electronic battery-operated scalp massagers to do the work for you, but either way, if you combine all of these things, you're going to see some great growth in you know, 2022, just saying so. Yeah, all right guys hope you have enjoyed this video and learned something new um, be sure to subscribe to this channel for more curly chemistry. Content. Is it working so comment below, and i can't do the conversation with you before i end this video. My birthday is january 11th. This coming tuesday, i am so happy. Marilyn Martin: Happy birthday to you! My hair grown regiment includes castor oil mixed with Rosemary oil 3-4 times a week and a scalp massage nightly. I’m interested in the no oil serums you mentioned in this video.

Edit Varga: I have a 2A-2C hair, fine, low density and suffer from shedding (could be hormonal changes as well, I’m 43), dry hair and itchy scalp. I tried a zillion things already, but what calmed my scalp the most and help with growth was a combination of neem oil, castor oil, black pimento oil, rosemary oil and olive oil. I mix it up in a small bowl and massage it into the scalp prior to shampoo (1-2 hours or overnight). I wash my hair every 5-7 days. I also use Viori fermented rice shampoo bar with every second wash (I’m afraid of protein overload). I take Silica, Multivitamin, Hair&Skin&Nail vitamin, vitamin C and D, E, Iron additionally from Naturelo and drink MSM with my water. My biggest kick in hair growth was the oils and the rice shampoo. Shedding/hair thinning is still an ongoing issue...

Cheryl S. Booker: Happy birthday, Capricorn! My hair likes coconut oil, henna, and moisturizing deep conditioners. And I use your PMP method to lock in the moisture. Thank you…I love your content and I respect how you use your knowledge to help others!

Nap Freedom215: OMG! My doctor put me on Vit D a few months back!! This explains the jump in my hair growth. Okay catching the jems Sis!!!

Bristalyn Daniels: I only use oil when I pre-poo After shampooing and deep conditioning I use a leave in or moisturizer and seal with hair grease. Thanks for the tips!! Hope you have a great birthday

NaptrulyMe: I like doing the scalp massages. I been skipping on it during the past month but getting back into it whenever I moisturize my hair (I seal my ends and apply ayurvedic oil on my scalp). Anyway, Happy Birthday! Enjoy. Peace & Blessings. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It's appreciated.

Angela Celeste May: Happy upcoming birthday! I was doing alot of good things for my fine, mostly 4a, high porosity, dense hair, but the combination of high stress at the beginning of last year and leaving some key steps out of my routine that I did not know I needed, really took a toll on my hair. It became very dry and brittle, broke off badly in the back, and my already fragile edges really got thin. What I was doing right: - Getting my water in daily (I love my water and tea!), - Not shampooing too often (twice a month works for me), - Using a moisturizing conditioning mask (love shea moisture) - Getting regular exercise - Taking 2000 in vitamin D along with a multivitamin and vitamin C daily - Moisturizing no less than every two days when my hair was out, and weekly when I wore a protective style - Always sleeping with my hair protected and my satin pillow case As I prayerfully researched and learned more about my hair and what was missing (thanks in part to you! ), and reconnecting with some of the lessons I'd forgotten about fr my Grandma, here is what I added to my routine: - Reimplementing nightly scalp messages - Hot oil treatments before Every shampoo - Combining oils like caster and essential oils with my olive oil for hot oil treatments - Alternating moisture shampoo at one shampoo session and Paul Mitchell's clarifying shampoo (gentle) at the other - Using a protein deep conditioner after my moisturizing mask Every time I shampoo - Lowering my stress and getting proper rest - Replacing hairbands with satin covered scrumchies - Being gentler with my hair, especially my edges - Spending more time finger detangling before combing - Being much more patient when combing - Using smaller sections because my hair is VERY dense All of these steps together have made a huge difference in my hair. It's back to being soft and strong, and my length is coming back slowly but steadily.

Barbara Berry: Happy birthday ! My birthday is Sunday the 9th. I stopped using raw oils in August last year. Additionally, I use mostly water-based, botanical products and take a daily supplement. I wash my hair once, sometimes twice a week. This routine is working well for me. I love your content, appreciate your advice, consistency, and your originality.

Lordpraisethe: Tbh, I stopped using oil in my hair a while ago and never looked back . It was so hard for products to penetrate my hair strands and hard for me to retain legnth. And my hair would get weak and brittle. I guess it depends on your hair type. Thanks for this video!

Kayla Boone: Thank you for always sharing your knowledge with us!

Raven Wilson: Hey I was thinking :) the PMP method for your hair is like using lotion on your skin, letting it absorb, and then sealing in the moisture with petroleum jelly. Good way to communicate the benefits.

Dee Hines: I was having an itchy scalp for the first time in my life. I watched one of your videos and you talked about scalp health. I got hemp seed oil and rosemary oil from Amazon and combined it with jojoba oil, tea tree oil, peppermint oil, cedarwood oil and vitamin e. Massaged it into my scalp for five minutes and left it on for a few hours, rinsed it out and had instant relief.

Mariah Thomas: Happy birthday! Once I started taking iron my hair and nails stopped breaking as much. Also I speak beautifully to my hair, reducing stress etc. Other than that my hair had always grown fast as long as it’s moistured

Lady Bianca: Thank you for sharing this. I started adding Henna to my deep conditioner and it has been helping me retain length. Happy early birthday to you.

Embrace the Moment: Happy Early Birthday. I do daily scalp massages because I love how my head feels after. It seems to be working because since my big chop I can cornrow my hair again.

Aleya Broomfield: Happy Birthday love this video. I’ve been delving into herbs for growth and retention.

Gloria A.: Ooooh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Gurrrl! Hope this year is filled with many, many blessings for you. You deserve the very best life has to offer, and we are grateful for ALL of your content.

Sandra Dee: Most of my fluid intake is water and since the pandemic I started taking vitamin d again also last year I brought an electric scalp massager I feel like they have been beneficial in my hair growth because i have noticed my edges growing back. I also brought a hair serum from camille rose i'm not sure if that's similar to the ones you mentioned but i will see if it helps with hair growth. Happy Early Birthday!!

The awesome person Chuney: I never knew vitamin D played a part in my hate growth, I’ve been taking it for the last 6 months, along with a homemade fenugreek deep conditioner that I make weekly. I take fenugreek water & spritz my hair 3 times a week instead of water when I moisturize my hair.

Jenny King Mercedes: I started using onion and garlic juice, and some ayurvedic herbs in December, hope that helps growing my hair.

Marilyn Howard: My hair growth goal is to re-grow the hair in the middle section of my hair.

LavenderDreams: My method has been talking to my hair including compliments, I love you, gratitude...also been making clove and bay leaf tea which I speak to as well...time in the sun plus massages with the tea...my hair is flourishing now.

Joyce Hutson: Hi. My hairline was gone and I had hair loss at the crown. I used a mixture of Vit E, JBCO and a little lavender oil twice a day. Massage my hair when applied. With consistency, my hair grew back. I now use Curly Dollar Club products which works well with my hair.

Carlos Cecilio Beauty: Love The Ordinary Serum; used it for 12 months. Not crazy about the texture and how it ruins hairstyles but it does what it claims with consistency. Caffeine . I take Pumpkin Seed Oil, Saw Palmetto and Vit D orally. Topically Sulfur 8, Coconut oil + Rosemary Oil mixture, rice water occasionally. Weekly, Clarify and K18 . Happy Birthday! Love all the evidence based information as a licensed cosmetologist! Thank you

KeNeSa: This channel is like "the magic school bus" of hair; that was also one of my favorite cartoons back in the day.

ElegantPaws01: Infused amla oil. Suppliments do include zinc, A, D3K2 and yes silica when not using silica I use MSN. All of tbis has moved me from shoulder to bra strap in two years. I am in maintenance mode now. Just dusting every six months. You nailed it as always. My main goal now is to thicken my fine hair or continue to get even more dormant follicles to get going. Happy Birthday

Jacqueline Harris: Thank you for sharing helpful tips. I massage my scalp with a mixture of water, aloe vera juice, tea tree oil and vegetable glycerin about every 2 weeks. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday! God Bless You

Felicia Dunn: Happy early Birthday ! To answer your question. I use hair grease and oils. I want to start using moringa and other herbs in my hair to grow it. I’m still using coconut oil because it works for my hair.

Andrea Harvey: This video was so informative. Happy Early Birthday beautiful ❤

No, This Is Patrick: Really informative thank you! This kind of came at a good time, cause i was just looking into things like serums to grow my edges

VanessaRenee.ButterflyReborn: Wow. Okay. I am ready to change my hair routines again. Wash day is gonna be exciting. As for the oils I use that work. I can’t say cause this is about what else work for me. Essential oils in my tea rinses. Like chamomile tea and lavender EO drops. And yes scalp massages. Just rubbing my scalp every day was feeling nice. So back to that. Thanks lady. And rubbing my fingers / nails together for a few minutes each day does help too. Okay. Time for a massage ‍♀️ with a bit of water and then oil. But gonna put a bit on my ends too. Thanks for the two new products I really need to check out.

HrhSophia TheFirst: Rosemary and peppermint oil in jojoba on the scalp once a week with a massage, working out 5 days a week and increasing my omega oil via food intake got me to mid-back length. I moisturize with a leave-in, balanced moisture/protein and apply argon oil. I do have a chemical secret weapon, for the last 5 years I have been on spironolactone for cystic acne brought on after my hysterectomy which has managed my hormones to the point of benefitting my hair as well.
