cf30d1a47dac191937f08b4cd604acd8Hair growth is a an intricate process, if you are a scientist or a doctor you might not agree with me as there are more complicated things happening in our body at any one time. Whether you think it is complicated or not, at one time or another we have all been focused on hair growth and the way we do it is generally centered around hair care.

Hair care refers to your regimen, adding moisture to your hair, adding protein to your hair, protective styling and all that jazz, but what about some of the things you do daily that has nothing to do with hair care that can also lead to longer hair.

Here are 4 things you should be doing daily that can lead to longer hair.

1. Eat well

Eating clean is one of the most important things you can do for your body over all but if you want to encourage hair growth focus on eating foods that are rich in vitamins*, minerals and healthy fats such as Vitamin C*, Biotin* and omega-3 fatty acids. Examples of food include Salmon, Walnuts and Spinach.

2. Drink Water

Water hydrates your body and it hydrates your hair from the inside out. Your hair will retain moisture better, you will eliminate dryness just by getting your water in daily. If you want to amp up your water, try adding cucumber slices, strawberries and mint leaves for an awesome DIY Vitamin water.

3. Get in the gym

Sweating removes toxins from the body through the pores of the skin and through the scalp. The follicles get unclogged making room for hair growth.

Additionally exercise increases blood circulation which we all know encourages growth because the blood carries oxygen, vitamins* and nutrients to all areas of the body including the scalp promoting growth.

4. Sleep

When your asleep is when your body has a chance to repair itself, balance hormones and stop hair loss. Your best growth happens while you are resting so get some sleep.

What other things do you do to promote hair growth that has nothing to do with hair care?
