I'M a hair and makeup artist here in New York, City and print fashion and entertainment. I'Ve had some people ask me: how do I put volume into a synthetic wig? Well, you put it in the same way you do a human person and the human hair. The only difference is that a wig is going to be. It have a little bit more hairs into it, the shorter ones that can back brush or backcomb easier, and they will actually stay better than a human, hair, wig or a human hair person. So first you want to take your section brush it out. I like to use a little brush for this, the back brushing it seems to me to hold a little bit better and you just want to use a seed motion to really just kind of press it in there. You don't want to cram it like a lot of people. Do you just need to do a little bit, especially with a synthetic wig and just brush the next section up, take the first section brush it in and then just a little C motion just to push a few little down. Take the next brush it into that one and then little C motion getting a little volume in there and then I like to do a little bit on to the side, not too much otherwise you're going to end up with a Peggy Bundy. Then we'll move to this side just a couple and then, as you see, we have a whole bunch of back combing down here, there's a little bit of volume from here. Let'S just take the brush and we're going to smooth it out. So you don't see that just hold down onto the wig and just reshape it back into what it was going softly, not digging in too far and just removing some of the surface teasing that you just put in and that's how you end up putting volume into A synthetic wig

LilithVanderstorme: To the point, short easy, no bs, Perfect video! Thank you!

Fn MK88: OMG thank you. I'm new to wigs and got some ridiculously inexpensive ones off of those discount sites. The bangs are too long, and I didn't want to trim them. I just did a little back combing of the area furthest to the bottom aka closest to my hairline, and the gentle puff is perfect, enough to make the bangs curl perfectly, and sit at a really nice natural line just above my brows. Thank you so much ☺️
