One Week Post Relaxer: My Updated Relaxed Hair Wash Day Routine

Hey beauties,

This is my updated one week post relaxer wash day routine. I’m trying to get the protein/moisture balance right, so I’m trying something new during my wash days. I will start wearing my hair in 2/4 braids under my wigs and use my growth oil 2-3 times a week and using the lusters s curl no drip as a leave in.

I hope you like the video.

Thank you, hello. My loves welcome back to the channel. My name is palisa m and welcome to this relaxed tape. Video. So, as you can see, I've relaxed my hair about a week ago and I've been wearing it in bands low high, just buns. This is what my hair looks like after a week. I am experiencing a bit of breakage and but I did talk to you guys about the setback and today we're going to wash my hair so yeah. This is what the hair looks like. It looks kind of good, though, like well well on the road to recovery and I'm very optimistic foreign things. First, I'm going to pot my hair today's wash day is a little bit different because I am going to try out something I saw for my favorite hair, YouTuber, hair Licious, and what I'm going to be doing is I'm going to be starting off with a protein Treatment on my dry hair, so I'm going to clip my hair in like two sections like this. I will be sectioning it off like little by little, so I can apply the treatment directly to my hair, so yeah I'm making smaller sections and then we're going to get into this wash day. So I'm going to be using the originals hair mayonnaise for today's protein treatment, I'm literally just going to open the tub and I'm going to start applying that onto my hair from the root to the tip. This is a protein treatment and I'm doing a protein treatment because my hair is recently relaxed and you would know that relaxer breaks the bonds of your hair, so you do need to restore like the buns, but also the health of your hair with protein. My hair is protein sensitive, so I find using milder protein treatments like hair mayonnaise's and some conditioners works perfectly for me, but I think one day I am gon na try something stronger like the Olympic system or maybe the fog two minute protein conditioner, but y'all will Get to that one day, but for today the mayonnaise is what I am using and, as you can see, I'm literally just slopping it through my hair and once I'm done with the section I am like wrapping them, twisting them into twists or two just to get Them out of the way, but also to ensure that I'm done with that hair and that that hair is coated completely with the hair mayonnaise foreign foreign. So once I'm done, I am taking some of the mayonnaise and applying it to the tops of my hair. Just to make sure like all the roots are covered up, and then I am going to cover my hair up so we're trying something new today, because I do not have a heat cap or a hair dryer that I can sit under. I was advised by tattoo to buy aluminum heat caps and here's why aluminum heat caps do hold in a bit more heat. So what I'm doing is putting on the shower cap first and I'm going to make sure that all my hair is under the shower cap. Then I'm going to grab my aluminum heat caps that I got from Zeus In Bloom Fontaine. I'M pretty sure you can get them at a hair supply store, but I bought two of these and I'm going to double up with these just so I can get as much heat as I possibly can and yeah I'm putting both of them on. This is what we look like, then I'm going to sit by a window. Let me tell you: it got really hot under this thing, and I think I got the heat that I needed to under the hair, I'm very much impressed because I can do this during load shedding when the lights are off and I can just sit by a Window read my book or drink my tea and yeah, it will generate heat and let that conditioner get to work honey. I'M going to unravel the two strand twists that I did on my hair um to keep the hair kind of separated and once that is done, we're going to hop into the shower. And it's going to be time to rinse out the protein treatment, making sure my water is not too hot. I am rinsing out that conditioner. I really need to make sure I get all of it out of my hair, because leaving protein conditioner in your hair is going to cause it to go, I'm scrunchy and dry and brittle, and your hair is just going to break if your hair is protein sensitive. Like mine, thank you and today's shampoo is the olive oil. It'S creamy Ali shampoo. This shampoo doubles up as a neutralizing shampoo, but it's also a moisturizing shampoo and I'm going to be focusing it on my roots and not through the length of my hair using a neutralizing shampoo after shampoo, they will just help make sure that there is no more Chemicals that are processing in your hair, but what I like about this shampoo is that it lathers so nicely and also it is moisturizing on the hair. So it doesn't like strip the hair of all of that good stuff, and this helps because then my hair will not tangle. I'Ve noticed with some shampoos that my hair will start tangling after I use them, but with this one my hair doesn't feel stripped off all the natural oils. Thank you, but remember, use the flat parts of your fingers to wash your scalp and not your nails. I did kind of discover that I had um like tears or cracks in my nails, but I am going to go to the salon soon be very careful of those because they can rip and break your hair, see. I felt some of my hair go through that crack rinsing out. This was the first cleanse. I am going to go in with the shampoo again just to make sure that my scalp is nice and clean, because I did notice that I have been getting quite a bit of flakes. This is just me repeating that shampoo step and again discovering all the cracks. I have in my nails, foreign, so I'm really trying to get into the back of my head, like the the crown of my head, because that is where I was experiencing a lot of the itching. So I'm trying to like clean that up as much as I could, and I got shampoo in my eyes while rinsing that out, but once that shampoo is all rinsed out, I'm going to go in with my second conditioner, which is going to be a moisturizing deep Conditioning um treatment, because if you use a protein treatment, you need to do a moisturizing treatment just to balance that out, especially for protein sensitive hair, I'm using the my natural hydration mask and I bought these packs at clicks. Unfortunately, this does not come in a tab, so I resort to buying the packs. This is a protein free, musk, it's moisturizing and hydration and hydrating, and that is why I chose this one going to put the content of two packs into the bowl. Then I'm going to add my Infamous Bella Armani oil about three spoons of that into the mixture mix it all up, and this is what it looks like. I added the oils, because this is my deep conditioner for today, then I'm going to work this from the roots to the ends of my hair. Again twist it up going to apply the shower cap and we're going to sit with this for about 35 to 40 minutes with my aluminum caps in the Sun by a window, not in direct sun, I'm going to sit by the window where the sunlight is coming. In and I'm going to, let that cook again, but I really do like this hydration mask it works really well, I've tried it before and my hair does seem to like it, so I'm going to keep giving it a chance. Sadly, because we don't get a lot of the stuff, the American Girls recommend in South Africa, but anyway, this is what my hair looks like with the mask on I'm going to just twist it up in a little bun, and you can see, I applied it to My edges as well, because I want all of the moisture and good stuff I'm going to cover my hair with a shower cap and then I'm going to use my aluminum heat caps again, like I extend after 35 to 40 minutes, I am taking off those aluminum Heat caps baby - it is hot and sweaty under these things, like they work. Okay, I'm so happy tattoo put me onto these and we are rinsing that out make sure to rinse out your conditioners thoroughly, especially if you're planning on blowing your hair out or like um flat ironing, your hair or straightening, then I'm going to use um a t-shirt. You know I like to t-shirt dry, my hair, because it's just better than towel drying - and I left that on for about 10-15 minutes and my hair is now t-shirt, dried and not a lot of water coming out of it. This is what my hair looks like and I was going to put him to air drying my hair, but um, I'm afraid it's going to come out poofy. So I'm taking my white tooth comb and trying out this every true leave-in detangling conditioner, applying it onto my hair and then I am going to comb it out and detangle my hair. This detangler really does feel very nice like it's not too thick. It'S kind of liquidy and it gives the hair a nice slip. So I'm going to give it a chance and see if my hair really likes it, because I think first use does not really the the best time to give a review. But I like the way it smells and I like the way it feels and you can see the girl still has her edges intact. So this is what my hair looks like detangled and I decided I'm going to blow dry it. After all, so I'm going to apply the OGX Argan Oil of Morocco onto my hair, and I am going to go in with my hair dryer and the comb attachment on very low heat. I am researching ways to use my blow dryer on my hair without the comb attachment, because I kind of feel like the comb attachment may be also contributing to, like you know, um the breakage of my hair and stuff, but I'm really not rough with it. So I honestly don't think it is the comb attachment, but I'm going to try the tension method, the next time and I'll. Let you guys know how that goes, but I'm very happy you guys. My hair is super dark. I do have breakage, but it is at the ends, so it's not shedding I'm breaking a little bit of ends and um. A part of me feels like that is like the over processed hair and stuff that I still need to trim off, but otherwise my hair is healthy, like sit back or not. My hair is healthy and I love my hair and I'm going to take better care of it and we're going to be good okay, but can we have a moment for, like my hairline, I've got new hairs growing in front of where I used to think my Hairline was which is very strange, but we're happy about that. I'Ve been using those hairs as like baby heads and yeah. This is what my hair looks like when it's all dried out. You can see. I'Ve got these lines from the aluminum heat caps, but they will go away, and that is what it looks like. I still do think I could get like a trim because I feel, like the one side of my hair is longer than the other, and that is it for the wash day today, please, let me know if you have any questions. Please don't forget to comment like share and subscribe, don't forget to leave me your questions down below and I will gladly help where I can.
