Disclosure: This was not labled a "paid promotion" because I did not accept money or products from a third party (like another retail store or wig brand) to make this video. Like about 99% of the 1200+ videos in my back catalog, this was made 100% at my own expense. That being said, I design, make, and sell all of these products. I wanted to disclose this to you so you could be an informed consumer and weigh this information in your evaluation of my vids. ❤️

I buy almost all of my clothing on Poshmark, especially Anthropologie, Baublebar, Brighton, Lululemon, old school Modcloth, Altar'd State, Free People, J. Crew, and WHBM

Fave cosmetic stores are Beautylish and Sephora

My wig size is technically average-large (circumference 23.5")

I'm 5'8, about 175 lbs, and 41 years old.

I had VSG '17 and lost over 100bs. (My wig cap didn't shrink, but my acne cleared up!)

TRIVIA: I call my channel "Retrograde Heather" instead of "CysterWigs" because I dropped out of a Master's Program at UGA to do this. It felt a little like living in retrograde. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to hang out with strangers all over the world!

Hi there wig lover long time no see this is heather from hairkittykitty.com here, kitty kitty and today i am bringing you a video all about the willow wig from wigs forever. I will show you a lot of footage from a lot of different angles and different lighting. So, hang with me, if you don't like this color, you may really like that one boing boing boing, the big bouncy curls on the willow wig by wigs forever, will definitely add a little spring to your step. This is a full synthetic wig, i'm gon na backtrack. Just a second, because i want to tell you why willow exists, how we we came to this point. Sisters are doing it for themselves, true story, they're, not white, labeled, i'm not taking somebody else's product and ripping out the tags and then sticking mine in it. I'M working directly with a factory and i'm designing these products, i'm designing the colors and i am choosing what we buy. We have to buy a whole bunch of them at once. It'S basically the same situation as every other name brand supplier and medical. Wigs that you've come to know and love, except we're doing it independently. So we are very literally a very small indie brand flying by the seat of our pants, doing all the marketing in-house and stuff. It'S a lot of fun and it's kind of an adventure. The learning curve is kind of interesting, it is terrifying, but i'm also really excited because, for example, the whole concept of how we came up with willow is super intimate, as i've mentioned in some of our live streams on cysterwigs 2. I have naturally curly hair and it is very difficult for me to find wigs and toppers with a really nice curl pattern. So i wanted to spend just a moment to talk a little bit about this senior photo, because this is a really great representation of a few things like for one note, the little pendant that i'm wearing that has like a little moon on it. Some things never change, um. You know i'm a little obsessed with moon and moon iconography. It'S it's fine, it's a thing anyway. Uh. The other thing you can probably see is how thin my hair is at this stage in the game. I already started bleaching my hair because my hair started falling out and i started to notice it by the time i was 17.. So in this photo i just turned 17 and it was already a problem, and so i was using the bleach to kind of make it look a little bit less obvious. I know a lot of you know what that's about too. So i i probably don't have to explain that too much, but this was before i started putting makeup on my scalp. This was like baby steps towards embracing my freedom from my own bio, hair. Uh. You know what it is anyway, look at how cute that little bob is that cute little drew barrymore 90s bob. I was very inspired by drew barrymore at the time and her curls, and i this cut was great because it helped me harness my curls, my natural curls, in a way that didn't look crazy and looked really really cute. Now over time, my hair has become substantially more hormonal and hard to work with, but it is what it is. This is what inspired willow i wanted to duplicate my high school hair, because i loved the way it looked on me. Take a magical, mystery tour through willow in every color that i currently make her in, and i just want to let you know that part of what i've been trying to do with this new sort of refresh on the channel is i wanted to showcase the wigs In all kinds of different lighting schemes, so what you're going to see are a bunch of unfiltered uncolor corrected, unphotoshopped images of the wigs on me, as well as on mannequins? Usually the mannequin images they're, not fluff they're, not comb, they're, not styled um. On me, i fluff them up a lot and oftentimes you'll see that in the video, while i'm moving around again, i'm using different cameras, different lighting, different rooms. Just so, you can see how the color changes in appearance, because that's one of the fun things about synthetics is that they're, a little luminous and so based on you know like people with certain eye colors how they change their eye color based on their outfits. It'S the same way with with synthetic wigs, and so i really wanted to capture that this season, and i'm hopeful that you will. Let me know what you think of the overall effect and if this was helpful in the comments, so here we go black magic. Is a natural blend of a dark brown and an off black, it's kind of like my bio, hair, color, or at least that's what i was going for now. Let'S talk about coco, swirl rooted, that's the color, i'm wearing too. I just want to tell you in full disclosure, this color, as well as several others that you're going to see throughout this part of the video are already sold out, but i wanted to add them in here. So that way you can compare them to other colors. As you watch the video and also if we ever make it again, it'll be here for the sake of your reference, coco swirl is a really beautiful, traditional hair color. It'S a warm chocolate brown that has a medium golden blonde highlight and a dark brown root. The root is relatively short, it's about an inch and a half long. This is a really really easy color to wear so now, let's get into a nice juicy red. This is a really ripe one. This is the cheerwine sangria. It is an unrooted, balayage fashion red and i keep making these like. Bunny air quotes because um you can't really do balayage hand painted highlights on a synthetic wig. We can only get close, so it's really um a really soft version of a dip dyed color with no obvious demarcation line. The base is a dark auburn brown that is blended, highlighted and tipped with a subtle blend of red violet. So, there's a little bit of purple in there for real and lots of deep ruby red that leads us to our next color, which is our strawberry shake rooted. This is a fashion pink, it's a rooted, tipped fashion rose pink with light honey brown roots on a muted, strawberry, pink blend, with ombre baby pink tips, just keep in mind that the non-heat friendly version of the color. So what you're, seeing here on the screen is a little bit lighter and a little bit cooler than the version of this that we have in the cysterwigs limited collection. Now we move on to the moonlit orchid rooted now. This color looks very similar between the wigs forever line. What you're seeing here for willow, as well as the cysterwigs limited collection? It'S in both of those ranges and it's very consistent between the two. This is a rooted, tipped fashion, lilac cool medium ash brown roots on a dynamic blend of true lilac and muted violet, with a light gray blended in it's very beautiful, and i particularly love it here in the non-heat friendly synthetic, because it's a little bit more dynamic And shimmery, so this color is mermaid, kisses rooted, which is an optical illusion blend that i came up with. I wanted to take advantage of the natural kind of shimmery properties of regular kanekalon synthetic fiber. So, in this case this is a rooted optical, illusion, pastel gray, but it doesn't actually have any gray in it. Instead, it's ash brown roots on a blend of ashy pastel, pink blue green, a little bit of peachy blonde. So, that's that that yellow that you might see in there and white blonde, so there's no gray in it and no actual blonde blonde. The the white blonde i mean is really almost a white purely and it's like a subtle, pastel gray, from a distance, really cool effect on this color. It'S meant to approximate the appearance of the ripples of water during twilight. If you can see it, then you know what i was going for. Aniston foil rooted is a rooted, dynamic, highlighted bronze inspired by one of the most iconic colors of all time, a natural light golden brown, it's kind of a synthetic number 12. If you're familiar with that color coding and that's the base, the roots are also the same color. So it isn't a huge contrast. So what you see at the bottom is going to be the same that you see at the top and then it's also going to have two different highlight shades on the top layers. That'S going to be a medium honey blonde, so it's got a little little. Smidge of warmth in there so you'll see that as the hair moves and then also creamy champagne blonde, which cools it down a little bit. It'S one of our balanced shades, it's very beautiful, so next up is willow in the color beach house rooted. This is a really pretty approximation of a balayage blonde. It'S a little softer than an ombre, so there's no demarcation line on the side or in the back. It'S a very soft sort of melted, color effect and it's a little bit cooler than some of the other versions of this color or this kind of combination on the market, because the base shade is not a 27. and a lot of these blends you'll see that It'S like a 27 and that at the bottom, it's like a 613 or something like that. We made it a little bit more rose gold than that um 613 is gon na, be a little too gold and um. We also thought the 27 would be slightly too warm. I wanted to create a version of this color uh kind of combination. That would be a little bit more like neutral or rose gold tinted. So hopefully you can see that in this combination, the rooting by the way is a medium brown. It'S one of those colors that looks really great even on brunettes, because it's got that really soft transition. So it's not as light near the face. It'S a really nice sort of baby step into the world of lighter blondes. If you're coming from a darker hair color. Normally i took images of this color in different kinds of lighting with different cameras, and this is good because it helps you sort of get an idea of what it would look like if you were in different lighting scenarios with this kind of hair color. And that brings us to harlow blonde rooted, which, in the wigs forever line, is a cooler version of this color than what you'll get from the cysterwigs limited collection, which is our heat, friendly fashion line at hair kittykitty.com. But what you'll find is that not only is, is this much more like a platinum, almost um, if you want something, that's pure white or like a pearl white check out the illuminati or the illuminati r. Instead, that is definitely more white, but this is still a blonde. It'S just a really cool toned one in our sister collection, the cysterwigs limited line, it's definitely warmer and actually the rooting color is a different color code in the heat friendly version. So the cysterwigs limited line it's a number 14, which is a warm honey blonde, and in this line it's actually a 12.. I had several folks which, by the way, is the same color as the aniston foils rooting in case you were curious, but i just wanted to point that out. This is in direct response to people who commented and said that they wish that the original version of the color - that's in that cysterwigs limited line, had a slightly less warm root. So this was my solution to that. I still wanted it to be a little bit. Warm because i do not want this color to look gray, it's a really beautiful blonde, but essentially i'm living that fantasy right. Now that almost all of us who wear wigs all the time probably have had at one point or another, where we're like. If i could make any wig in any color, i wanted what would i do? I'M literally like willy wonka living in my own little chocolate factory except it's hair. Instead, willow is one of the things that i'm the most excited about because i love standard cap wigs. I love wigs that aren't super expensive right. I like that. I need to make a profit, but i want to make it reasonable, and particularly since i know, everyone else is raising their prices right now, i'm trying to keep that to a minimum, even though these challenging times and whatnot um and willow reminds me of home. It reminds me of my bio hair, except my bio hair, when it was cute and would behave which would be like basically only when stylists would cut it and then style it in in the salon. And then i try to go home and duplicate it and it would be absolutely impossible to get my curls to behave. They have magic fingers, i swear, but now none of us need to have magic fingers, because the wig will do it for us. So anyhow, you'll have a tough time keeping your hands off of our willow wig and that's perfectly fine. It'S kind of by design willow looks even better when she's ever so slightly messy, so go ahead and play dress for the day and have fun in style. All of the wigs from the wigs forever brand are alopecia and big head friendly cap designs, so they're meant to be roomy, particularly in our machine made wigs. They are medical, wigs in salon, fresh colors, they're, premium products and they're designed in the usa. This is a premium silky texture, synthetic fiber, so it's not heat friendly. So please don't use heat tools on it. You will fry it or literally melt it, but either way not ideal. Small amounts of felt are built into the cap for comfort at the nape ear tabs front and perimeter with lots of elastic in the back for additional stretch, velcro adjusters for easy size adjustment at the perimeter and open cap design to allow the wig to breathe. Well, the measurements for willow by wigs forever are this has a average large cap size which again is going to fit a little bit roomy on some folks, but it will also accommodate an average cap and a large cap, and this is really a great size for Folks, who have bio hair like my sisters with pcos, this is a great kind of wig for you. If you have a lot of hair that you need to tuck up under your cap, the fringe or rather the front in this case, because it's kind of long is 8 inches, the crown is 12. The nape is 3.75 and the overall length is 12.5. But take that with a pretty generous grain of salt, because it's a curly wig and it's always gon na spring up and be a little bit shorter than a straight wig of a similar length. The overall weight is a very light. Four ounces: all of the wigs from the wigs forever line will ship in a vinyl bag. It'S flat, packed. Please wear a liner when you try on any wig that kind of protects the sensitive sniffers of our return inspectors, and it also helps protect your return from being invalidated because of biological smells. You may be noseblind to no shame. It'S literally just a thing. I should bring to your attention because a lot of people just aren't aware of it. You know think of those febreze commercials for reference. This particular wig is best for face shapes that are oval diamond round square heart, inverted triangle, triangle and pair. So the only people who are kind of left out on this one, you know kind of play at your own risk - are people with rectangular and oblong face shapes, and that's simply because of the length you know it's, it's not too dissimilar from the topper that i'm Currently wearing - and you have to be kind of careful, because if you have a longer face it's going to hit you pretty much at the jawline instead of slightly below as intended. If that's good, for you, then game on go ahead and have fun with this one too style tip stick to using your fingers to comb through this particular wig, to break up the ringlets and kind of go like this to break it up, because any curl and Any curly girl can attest that brushes and calms may cause the texture to frizz out so use a pick. You can use a wide tooth comb if you really want to loosen up those curls. Just remember it's a little bit like a genie in the bottle. If, if you let it out, you might not be able to get it back in so proceed with caution and when in doubt just use your fingers they're fine. One of the things i really pride myself on is that all of my wig reviews i mean, and so far i've done over 1500 of them, even though i'm moving most of those to a legacy channel called cysterwigs classics, so shameless uh self-promotion achieved. But i wanted to let you know that we do still have those videos. You can watch them there. You can also check them out on my vimeo channel, which is cysterwigs on vimeo. Every video i've ever made is on there and we're expanding on it all the time so hooray um. I wanted to just let you know that i will continue to um. Do that? No bs, no fancy tricks, no filters. The zits are real. You can see that i skipped the botox to get these wig reviews and these products off the ground. Carla Wood: Terrific showcase of my favorite wig. ❤ I own 3 Willows, and I LOVE her! No matter which shade I wear, I get compliments.

Alli: Gorgeous style and colors. Love all the info and tips.

Pamelia M: Love, love, LOVE this style! Looks very much like my high school bio-hair! Practically perfect in every way! Still looking for MY color (still don't know what that means except that includes neutral-cool grey strands.

D G: I absolutely love your wigs! Amazing quality, gorgeous colors, comfortable cap, I could go on!! I’m so happy I found this line. You are a true gem! ❤️please keep creating!

Stacey Crease: This is my third time watching this, which goes to show how much I am enjoying the joyful vibe and in-depth descriptions and depictions. I have Willow in Anniston Foil and her curls are luscious. I feel beautiful in her.

Dana Renken: Beautiful colors and style!!! Thank you for all you do for sick and hurting people and for those of us who just want to stop trying to make our bio hair look good.

Patinkular: You SO creative Heather congratulations on your success Great selection of colors ‍

Rachel Moore: I just love my aniston foil - willow! It makes me sing "I feel pretty".

Paula Coyle: You know what would be really nice? Instead of felt, put some of that one way velvet, the same stuff that they use for the velvet Wig grips, with the nap oriented so that it helps to keep your wig on. If you put that on top of a wig grip it would be very secure indeed. But you wouldn’t have to do that either.

Desktop Kitty: I too started having thinning problems during my senior year; I'll never forget how I thought, "great, just in time for my senior pictures". Prior to that I had hair everyone envied. And like you my hair was naturally curly, though it depended on length and weather how curly. My hair was sometimes like Avalon by Estetica, but would get curlier like Willow, and anything in between. John Frieda's Frizz Ease became my new best friend. Then because of illness it only got worse. I had limp, sad hair for so long it's taken me time to work my way up to wigs that resemble my fuller, curlier hair days of my youth. I saw Willow and thought, "that looks just like what my 'good hair day' would look like when I was in high school", and I knew I just had to get it. So I just ordered one in Black Magic. I don't know if you every have color requests, but I have one. Medium to dark brown with brownish auburn mix. I don't even know if that makes sense.

Red headed Sojourner: I love this style!! I wish there was strawberry blonde but I may try the sangria.

Cat Magic: I love this style. I got it in moonlit orchid. I would love a silver gray one

Hair There: I love my Cocoa Swirl Willow!

Sheila Charette: I love the Mermaid Kisses! Is available in ANYA?

Liz Lyons: I love Cocoa Swirl R. I have been wearing a 2/27 balayage HH wig lately and I think Cocoa Swirl R approximates it very well. I hope to get it in Willow and a couple of other styles. LOVE the rest, too. Gorgeous colors.

julie moses: Aww. The senior photo. So sweet.

Kimberlin Sprague: She is beautiful!!!!!!!!!

Becky Robinson: Your high school pictures are adorable!

r w: Pretty, but I was hoping to see a color like what was in your high school photo.

Victoria_Jenise: Trinity next!!!

Red headed Sojourner: Is this lace front?
