All right guys, so this is charmaine's hair. We'Ve already started working um on some of her locs we've been crocheting them. I have been using this triple pronged crochet needle from peculiar roots, and it really i like the triple prong one, because it really cuts down on time and it helps me crochet, hair locks faster, so i'll give you one example of her lock. So this is one lock here and, as you can see she does have like well, you can't really see it that well, but it's matting up pretty nicely. She does have some budding going on like right here, it's starting to lock, but she really just wants to um. Well, we both decided that she should train her new growth, because some of her hair is just not locking at all. For example, this one is giving us a really hard time so um and it's actually splitting so we're gon na do some engineering here, but, as you can see, this is just a close up. I want you guys to see this is her new um crochet lock. So, as you can see, obviously there's like more length here but um we have crocheted the roots and some of her locks are butting. So we didn't do much work on that, but um yeah. They are coming out very nicely and i'm going to show you guys in the next clip how i actually use the crochet needle to crochet these locks so stay tuned, all right guys, so charmaine's hair is almost done. I have um this section left as you can see um. If she turns her head a little bit, you'll see what we are working with in the back. We have locks all right, well, they're still not fully matured. I don't know if you can see this, but her budding kind of starts here and ends at this point, and then she has like some twisted ends. Left i didn't want to. The same goes for this lock put your head tilt it a little bit yeah. The same goes for this lock. You can see that she has budding like right around this area and then her end and i didn't crochet all of the ends just because i am not very good at blunting the ends of crochet locks. So that's another reason why i did not bother with the ends, i'm just being honest with you guys: okay, so turn a little bit. So this is what her hair looks like from the back, so i will show you guys how i crochet one of these locks. Um, so this is one of her locks that just did not want to lock and it actually ended up splitting um. I started her hair with two strand twists initially, and this lock actually ended up splitting. So i'm going to crochet that, for you guys, right now and um, you guys will see that i end up crocheting wax, but also adding locks to her head. So i'm using this double pronged needle from peculiar roots, this crochet needle um. I will put the size of the needle - i forg. I forget right now. I can't recall so i have been adding locks throughout this process to her hair as well, because we noticed that some of her locs were um much thicker than others, because obviously she has different hair types on her head. Like most people do so um yeah. We are really doing some engineering on her locs today, so okay, so here i'm going to just do the same process with my crochet needle i'm going to start by twisting just so that i can get close enough to her scalp, but not too close to cause Any tension when you're crocheting you want to make sure that your the knee the hook of the needle is facing you so facing upwards, not downwards, and it does take a little while. But you just got ta, be patient, guys, make sure you're very careful when you're crocheting it can. It can stab your finger. I'Ve been stabbed a couple of times, um just be very careful all right guys. So this is what her this role looks like. She has her new locks, they're crocheted um and, as i said just because they're crocheted does not mean that they're the locks are mature, so as her hair continues to grow and um really like on its own, these knots will actually swell so. Yes, that is how i crocheted her locs. I will be back with the finished look. I think that after this, what we'll do, just to like make sure the locks are all set, we will either do like some braids or some twists um to get her right. All right guys see you soon guys. This is what her locks look like now, as you can see, they have a lot more length. A lot of her new growth is now in this lock um and they look really good. Her locks are pretty thick. She has. We counted 88 locks, that's just some lint, i'm taking that out right now, but yeah guys, she's really happy with her locks. I'M really happy with her locks as well, and i hope this video was helpful for anyone who is trying to either incent lock their hair or speed up the locking process of their starter locks. So thank you guys so much for watching. If you have any questions, please be sure to put in the comment box and if you want to see anything in particular, please let me know bye,

m MC BRIDE: Locking starts at 5:15. This is beautiful Charnice

Zacharias3: Just perfect. Love this demo. I too started my own locks with two-strand twists. My own hair is very delicate so I don't do alot of twisting and palmrolling (for sure not unless it is damp) thank you for these detailed instructions on how to use the this crochet tool. Great video!!

Alanna Miller: My locs are just like hers & some parts won’t loc. 7 months in. I was looking up videos on how to use the needle to speed up the process & you’ve helped a lot! Thanks!

dapiscesinme: Thank you for making this video because it was very helpful to me. My brother started his locs journey last year March and I starting locing it for him this passed April.

Glitter Mommy Tarot: 2 years later, but this video was perfect. I used braids to loc my boys' hair and now it's time for a retwist. And I wanted to see how the crochet needle works before I get started. Thank you

carly jeffrey: im glad i saw this video,my locs look just like this and i was starting to think I was doing something wrong.I started with two strand twist too.Unfortunately i started taking some down and retwisting them‍♀️so now my locs are all on different phases

Gossip Girl: Planning to lock my hair using the same tool. Might do a video as well since I don’t see many on YouTube about it. Thanks for the tutorial!

Cookie Monster: Great video order these tools and my hair is coming out great. Mostly they were already starter locs but weren’t locking the way I want. This video helped and great explaining and showing! Thanks.

Made by SOMI: This is sorcery your work is so seamless, I love it!

Lisa Lewis: So happy to see this tutorial I learned a lot off of this site I thank you so much for sharing your expertise

Jos Bee: Thanks for mentioning the direction of the needle. You're the first one I've heard say which direction to use the needle and I needed to know. Nice work! Thank you! ❤

DePiscean1: Very nice! I will look into this tool. My front row never loc'd and for most of my journey I've been trying to fuse that hair into the next row and that didn't work. So now I'm trying to separate the hair into its own loc row again and there's some budding but the hair often comes loose. Especially since I don't wear any have covering or anything in the shower or when washing my face Something like this would really help.

Crystal Nyla - Let's Talk About It !!!: This is the best way to loc I have been on my loc journey since December 2020 my loc tech is always double booked and won’t crochet so I do it all myself. I won’t do it any other way. Wish more loctitians would do this method more. Doing it to your own head is soooo hard and takes so much more time ... I have stabbed my thumb drawing blood and accidentally poking under my thumb nail I saw stars ✨ but you gotta keep going blessings to all and I’ll have to do videos cause there aren’t many out here

Catarena Tucker: I went and bought a double crochet hook today, and I've been working on my locks that I already have. Mine were twisted by hand and they looked poofy after 2 weeks (my hair is weird). I've done a few so far and I'm happy that I'm actually doing it right

Tawana white: My hair is similar to hers. You did a great job thanks for this video ‍♀️✨

Zacharias3: I like this crochet method better watching you do it as it works along the 'shaft' of the lock which is probably stronger and it does not make holes at the more delicate roots some that some interlocking create or shorten the lock as much either. As you say you don't want to put too much tension on the base/ roots.

K V T: Perfect tutorial thank you Love

Moraa Mogz TV: Great job and the video was helpful! I've always used crotchet..

Kenya V.: Great job. Her locs looks great!

nevergoin28: Thank you so much for this video !!

Elaine Bellamy: These look soo good!! I’m nervous retwisting is going to thin my roots so crochet is something to consider!

Estella Spencer: Thank you for mentioning the direction the needle needs to be. Also doesn’t the hair needs to be damp when doing this to prevent breakage? Just what I was told

Paule Funso: Glad I saw this video as I currently have 2 strand twist and most of my hair are locking but the ugly stage is real.

Svnny: Nice clean dreadlocks!

Nay: My hair has been locked for two months now and they are coming a loose. I’m definitely going to crochet my locs. It sucks because I really wanted my hair to experience this journey but I don’t want to start all over because they are too loose so i’m choosing to crochet to keep my sanity ❤️

nevergoin28: It is just beautiful

Chyna Me: Thank you for posting , I had to do this a little to help my hair loc

WI FI: is the double hook faster? also what size needles should i use for thin locs

Michael: Beautiful

Chardae Greenlee: Good job!! Do you have to wash prior to crotchet? Also how does it affect budding to do an instant loc?

Bay Area Style File: I've been waiting on this video!! This is so dope. How long has Charmaine been locked again? I'll definitely pick up this tool in case I need to repair locs in the future. You did this on completely dry hair (post wash)?

AKIYIAKELLY: Thanks so much. Great close-up

Helene Davis: Yayyyy so happy, thanks for a set method

RI GONZALEZ: omg her hair I love it you did a wonderful job

YO YO: Great jobI love it❤her hair is going to be just like Aesthetic Femme....just AWESOME!!

Emily H: Mrs Charnice, do I have to put my fiancé’s hair into two-strand twists first before using your method? What is the needle?

Maki: Beautiful head of hair!!

Empress Aura: Wish i had a sister like you i just cut my locs off because i had no help she is lucky to have you and you did a Great job

Kristie Hinton: Thanks for this!!

SICKO: When you crotchet needle can you add bees wax or a twisting gel?

Byron Herman: Just moved to AZ and finding good salons that can deal with black hair are non existent. This is gold for me thank you queen. Keep slaying and keep up the good work

Natasha: Hello! Love the video just wanted to know if I should be doing this on dry hair?

ThatsSoDanieMariee: i love this video! you are a woman of many talents ! xo sissyy

Internet Alias: I have a question: my cousin has two strand twists in with the intention of locking them. Would he have to undo the twists in order to use this tool? Or can he keep the twists?

Lil-_-Savage999: how long will it last ?

shenna Taylor: Does it matter which size crochet hook you use?

noclout.gaming: Appreciate you fa sharing this knowledge

Mimi Yurman: Can this be used for sisterlocks? I have a few that keep separating.

Arcadia Ramos: When crocheting, the needle doesn't get caught in the hair? It looks as though its just gliding in and out with no problem. are there any issues like that when using the needles?

Kishy J: Wawww!! Girl you've got mad skills!!! This is so dope!!

Simone Bailey: Very good Charnice. You got skills.

Tiffany Burston: I need to tighten up my locs using that tool

Iona Ayona: I used this tool and my thumb was cut up! Thinking I might just retwist the growth or I'll have no thumb left!

Shelley Cole: So as the loc grows out her ends will be thick ? Is their anyway to avoid that when you have small locs

SIMPLYME!: Ok so if you use the single 0.5 vs. the triple; the lock will come out a bit more uniformed. Less of a free form look unless that’s the look she’s going for...

Sensei Jasz: I wish you could do my hair like this

RaTheGoddess: Can I do my retwists this way?

Dz: how would u tell if theyre going to come out? What should you do in that situation

Bouk's Flaws & Stuff: Ty for sharing this video.

Daniel Silva: Aight so quick question I’m in my begging stage of my dreadlocks I’m starting with the twist method and I’ve been wondering if I should get my hair crochet because I don’t really want to wait months for my hair to lock, I just wanna be able to wash my air

Sharice: I know this is old but i literally am having the samr thing happen. That one side by my ear is super soft and wont lock. I do have some matting in the bottom of the shaft but its playing with me Im crocheting my locs now and i love how they minimize shrinkage.. I lost half my length when i got coils and then they started getting shorter.. I really didnt want that bim happy with the crocheted locs

WRM Fitness: I know its been a whole year, but do you know how long her hair was before you did her locs?

BIG JOJO: Hey if I used the the needle once can I still get my normal retwist that I always get

wealthykey: can your hair be washed and blow dried?

Edward Robinson: Can this aide with making slim locks into fatter/ thicker ones?

NgX: i been growing my hair for 6 months and been wanting some type of dreads

Splash And dash: Do the hair still grow after you crochet it?

Phyllis Loyd - English: How do you know what size needle to use? What’s the method your using to actually loc the hair with the needle. Where can I get that needle from? Thanks.

joshua riley: this was really helpful

Kwazzi K: What I'm not sure about if after doing this method you can still pull out your hair? Because I started with 2 strand twists because I want to one day pull out my locs but now I'm almost 10 months and my hair looks just like your client and I'm not so happy anymore I just want to know if I use these tools, can I still pull out my hair and get some length?

ZID 9: Will your locs grow if you do this or does your hair already have to be long

Meme13100 !!: How do you get it to relax down??

Sheuehe: Using crochet will make your hair lock faster and mature, bc mine lock and also mature in 2 month.

Kim J.: Very nice

Simone Santos: Where can I order one of those crochet things and what’s the proper name ?

Angela N Jones: How would you recommend I practice these if I don’t have a person to try then on?

Hyperz: What size is the crochet needle

Yasminyah Yahudith Yashar'el: I love your technique.. But i did here you say that you are not good with ends. Just a little advice... The little string you are cutting off can actually be folded back up the lock and twisted around then palm rolled and you'll have a blunt end.

Amina: People ask some crazy questions! Wow! Can i wash it? Will it still grow? Can I still retwist? Crazy.

Dexter Gill: I just bought a crochet needle yesterday

Daughter Of The Most High: I don’t know about people that feels you ‘re talking too much but for me it feels kind of relaxing and satisfying to heard you talking and touching her hair at the same timeGreat video

Lovely Niyah: Where do I get a needle from

QueenCharles: The vids that I've watched always claim that crochet locks will never expand. In other words they'd never puff up. Is that true from your experiences? This idea has actually had me wondering if I should even start with crochet..but I want my locs NOW and I want them PUFFY!! Lol..Someone pls help. thanks

Yarah Chebeia: Hi. So hard to find content of this method. How does she maintain it? Products used?

Latina Bell: Thank you

K I: Do you think it's easy to do on your own head? Did you do anything to the roots or how did you get the stay firm at the roots?

Jane Dee: I need someone to really answer my question.. I have human crochet locs.. but how do I keep them tight to my root of my hair.. they slip out.. can someone help.. thanks

Sarita Ginee: This still doesn’t make sense to me. Putting the tool in and out of the hair isn’t doing anything for me, it’s literally just losing in my sons loc and right back out. Somebody help me

Paul Oth: What size is the needles

Donita Palmer: I love the video thanks for making it but I just need more information on what your actually doing? Like I’m so nervous on what I’m actually doing. All I do is poke my fingers and not sure if I’m actually locking the hair or not. What is the technique exactly? Try and hook the hair, does it automatically hook, do we not hook it and just try and pull it through ‍♀️ Please someone tell me something

Merk Li: I have really curly hair how do I start my locs?

DawgFs: My hair stylist only hooked the tips of my locks was she not suppose to hook the roots or she messed up ?

Tiffany J: I can’t really see the technique. I have the 3 prog needle. And it feels like it just gets tangled in my hair. I don’t understand how to actually use it.

LocsGunna 2700: Are u breaking the hair as you crochet ?

Lareina: What size hook are u using

Stephen Smithh: That needle ain't no joke.......very nice video

Chioma Nnnadili: Lovely Pls where can I get this pin

Before FN: If someone did your hair with a crochet needle can you still detangle it and if you can what are the products you would need

Passionate: Is the pointy side of needle up or now

Dylan Walker: I crochet hook my two strands twist do I wash my hair after or….
