Hi guys today, i'm going to be showing you how to cut the lace off of your wigs all right. So i want to come on here today and i wanted to kind of go back to the basics and really start from the beginning and show you guys. Some broken down videos of some things that i get asked a lot about, and this is going to be the first one, which is how to cut the lace off of your wig, this again personal preference. You can do this, however, you want i'm just showing you guys how i personally like to cut the lace off of my wigs we're going to go ahead and get right into this, but before we do, i want to remind you guys of a couple of things. Um, first off, we are really really close, like crazy, close to 5 000 subscribers, and once we hit 5 000 subscribers, we're gon na be doing a huge wig giveaway. I'Ve got like five wigs involved in this giveaway and a bunch of wig accessories and goodies, and all sorts of awesome stuff so make sure if you guys haven't yet subscribe to this channel, hit the notification bell to get notifications on all the videos i do in The future, so you can find out more information about this giveaway as it gets closer and give me a like on this video guys. I'D really appreciate it so now that i've gotten all that out of the way we can go ahead and get back into this video all right. So the only thing you really need for this is going to be a pair of scissors, i'm using the same scissors. I used in the previous video some hair. Cutting shears are really the best for this, because you want them to be nice and sharp um. These ones right here come in a kit with like these and some thinning shears and a little razor, which is really awesome, and i use all of those four wig alterations i'll go ahead and put the link down below for you guys for that little kit. So you guys can check that out if it's something that you're interested in now, let's go ahead and get up close, so i can show you guys how to cut the lace off this way. The only other thing you really are going to want is some type of clip here. Um, i have a little alligator clip. That'S fine, whatever it's just something you're going to want to pull the hair away from the lace just so that you can really see what you're working with um. When i cut the lace um, this is briar right here. We'Re going to be using her to show you guys when i cut the lace. I like to start all the way back here where the lace starts behind this ear, tab area and i'm going to show you two different ways to do this. So the first way i'm going to show you this is on a wig head or you can do this on your own head or on another person. But if you're gon na do that, be very careful. Obviously, because you're gon na be going at someone with a pair of scissors and that might be a little scary - you don't want to lose any eyeballs or anybody else's hair, so on a wig head or person. This is how i'm gon na do this. I'M gon na show you how to do this on this side and then i'm gon na show you another way without anything. On the other side, because i know not - everyone has something that they can put their wig on, and i just want to really show you both ways so that you can cut the lace off no matter. What so, on this side, we're going to go ahead and cut this lace here, and i just want to pull this all the way back. Even if you have to do this in sections, that's fine, but you just really want to get all this hair away from that lace. So you're really exposing the lace and you can see what you're working with coming around all right. So we're gon na go ahead and take this and we're gon na start right here where this starts and you're literally going to just be following this natural hairline that the wig already has, especially when it's already pre-plucked like this. It'S really easy. It'S not going to be perfectly straight. That really is kind of the trick when doing this and making it look natural is for it to not look very straight and then the other tip i have, which is why i recommend sharper scissors. Is you really want to try to make sure you get nice long cuts and that's going to help, keep it from being jagged and help keep from fraying and things like that, and it just really makes a big difference and it's something really easy to do. Just really kind of think about it, like wrapping paper, how you want to get that nice, clean slicing kind of situation, happening that's kind of what you want in a way when you're cutting the lace and then i come all the way up to this part line. Here and then that's where i'm going to stop and then, if i was going to continue doing this like this, i would flip it around and i would repeat the process from this side and i would meet it here in the middle. But i want to show you guys how i do it when i don't have anything, i don't want to put it on my head. I don't have anybody else to put it on how you can just cut the lace off literally just kind of freeholding it. So you don't need to have a wig head per se to do this um, i'm going to show you guys how to just kind of cut the lace off free holding it like this now. Obviously, it's a little bit easier when you have a little bit of a heavier wig where you have a longer wig, because it helps kind of hold it. The way you want it to, but what you're going to do is you're actually going to grab the lace like this and you're going to hold this wig from the lace. So i start again by this ear tab and i'm going to just kind of pinch to lace between my two hands and i'm going to hold it like this. I want to show you guys up close like i'm holding it right like that, and then we're gon na go ahead and take our scissors and with the weight of this wig, holding down we're gon na go ahead and just cut the lace off all right. So, as you can see here, i'm kind of holding it like this, but you also can take it if it makes you feel a little bit more comfortable and kind of rest. It on your hand here, so i have my hand here and i can actually kind of run my hand along with this. As i go, so i'm going to go ahead and hold it like, i was holding it, i'm grabbing it by the lace and i'm just putting my hand underneath here to have this kind of support and then i'm just going to go ahead and cut and then You'Re just going to follow it up to there and you would just continue to keep going around completely if you're going to continue to do it. That way, all right, so the last thing you're going to want to do is just take your hands and kind of run your hands through this wig. If you don't do this you're going to notice you're going to have some shedding because you did just cut some hair there's no way you'd miss any. So there is going to always be a little bit of hair here from when you do that. So just go ahead and brush through get rid of that hair. That way it doesn't end up on your clothes um. You know later on in the day and then you're done. It'S really really easy. It'S not complicated! You can always trim it back more. If you need to, if you find that it's a little bit too much lace, i always recommend starting out with a little extra there, especially if you're planning on gluing your weight down or anything like that. You want a little extra lace. If not, you can cut it pretty much all the way to the hairline, that's how i prefer mine and then the hairline kind of hides the lace for me, but that's kind of personal preference. As far as how much lace you want to leave, but this is really just kind of two really easy ways to just cut the lace off of your wigs. I know like i said this is kind of something that i feel like everyone should know how to do, but we don't think about it sometimes, and i know there's companies out there that will cut the lace off for you, so you don't have to worry about It and all that kind of stuff, so now you can go ahead and confidently cut the lace off yourself. I really appreciate you guys watching thank you so much and have a great day i'll see you on the next video
