I will show you how I re-wig this American Girl doll I purchase from Aliexpress. Along with the mistakes I made. I will also tell you where you can find a good buy on a used AG doll.

Hi, I'm Lisa welcome to Lily's design. Today I'll show you how I read wig this American Girl Talk. I purchased on Aliexpress, and this is the first time I ever did a remake on a doll. If you're looking for an experienced person to show you how to read wig a doll, there are plenty of videos here on YouTube. The video I will show you is my review on this wig purchase from Aliexpress and the mistakes I made also I'll share with you, where you might be able to find a great deal on American Girl doll. I came across a smokin deal on face book marketplace. I got this American Girl doll for 25 bucks. Awesome price so be sure check them out first, before checking anywhere else. Her here is a little bit mad at as you can see, so I don't really want to go through all that work and I already have to American Girl dolls that have blonde hair. So I wanted to make her a brunette I purchased this week on Aliexpress for $ 12.48. The netten is still on this wig. So if the strands look at a place, it's probably due to the netted alright. So the first thing we want to do is we want to take her head off. That sounds bad, but this way will won't damage any part of her body when we're trying to pry the wig off we'll just take that night out, you might need to take flyers if yours is double knotted. Let'S loosen that up and wallah she's off the supplies I will be using is e 6000, an old spoon and envelope opener, superglue sandpaper and some old pins. I will list these items down below in the description, so you can easily find them or you can pick them up at most craft stores, I'm trying to find some kind of opening. So I can get my spoon in and here's a spot right here, but the spoon won't fit in. So let me grab the envelope holder and I'll, get it I'll, try to get an open and started making sure I don't damage the skull, I'm not going to reuse this wig, so I'm not to worry. If I tear into it, I got an open and started so let me grab my spoon. I will fast forward, as this will take a little bit to do and it's easier to put it between your legs and hold it that way, but I'm trying to videotape and show it to you guys when you get to a spot like that, then I use The envelope to rip through it, you do have to put some muscle into this. Alright, I got the wig off and I will say this: if you are under the age of 18, it's best that you have your parents do this. If you're 16 get your parents permission, you don't want to take this off without their permission and the other thing is it's not an easy task? As I was working with the envelope opener, I could have stabbed myself a couple of times, so what I started to do is use the back end of the spoon and the spoon. This was a safe alternative and when you do need the opener very little then use it with caution all right. The next thing we're going to do is get some of this glue off of here. We'Re just gon na file it down. We don't have to take it all off, we'll just use either a sandpaper or a nail file and just sand a little bit down. Not a big deal to leave some glue on. In fact, it's better to leave some of the glue on because the new glue will adhere to it a lot better. Another thing I want to say is I've read a couple of places that people use non acetone nail polish remover, I put it on left it on for an hour and it did not seem to remove it now. There might be a certain glue on here. That'S not lifting it, I'm not quite sure, because this looks like somebody did glue it other than the American Girl doll company, but I did try this and what I don't like is, after you do use the non acetone nail polish remover. You have to make sure that you've washed a doll, real good, her head and scalp, and you have to make sure that you don't get water in her eyes, because the eyes will rust. If you get water name, okay, I got it all sanded down. As you can see, I left some stuff on there, but that's okay, I'll, grab my wig and turn it inside out. I want to make sure the hair is all down. Grab your e6000 and I'll start in the center of the cap and I'll do a circular pattern and I'll try not to overdo it with the glue. If you'd like to use a temporary glue, you can use tacky glue. My first attempt didn't work. I did not have this on camera and I didn't have enough glue here goes my second attempt which will work. I will repeat the same process, but this time I'm gon na make sure I get it on camera and I add a little more glue. I'M gon na part her part in the side instead of centering it and you want to pull on the back in the front at the same time stretch it as best as you can. The e6000 should take 24 hours to dry and you can place some pins in her hair and this will keep it in place. It'S been 24 hours since I applied the e6000 and it looks like it's dried, so I will go ahead and remove my pins at the hairline. I'M going to use some superglue because it's quick to dry and we need that. I will get some right under here. Then I'll grab two here and pull it down and I'll hold it there until the glue dries. What I'm doing is grabbing the hair and pulling it up and I'll push him down on this, be right back, I'm going to attach your head and fix her here up tada here she is all done up. I like how she turned out, and I didn't had any products like hairspray or conditioner. I just wet her hair. What order and curled it I'll show you how to curl it shortly. It'S pretty easy, and even though this wig is great for me, because I just use it as a demo for my patterns, it might not be great for a child under the age of 8 years old and the reason I say that if they decide to brush Her hair, like this, you will get a mess and you will have to weather here. Andrey curl. It I'll show you how to curl her here, but first I'll go dip her here in a sink full of water off-camera. Why? I was off-camera. I divided her hair into sections. This way it will be easier to curl the supplies I will use to curl her here are these hair rollers. I got from Dollar Tree a spray bottle and a wire brush to curl the hair. All I do is wet the hair again wrap the hair around the curler and I'm making sure the ends are wrapped once the hair is all wrapped. I release it from the curler. The hair is still wet. You don't need to leave the curlers in overnight. For this wig to speed this video up, I will fast forward it. I let her sit overnight to dry and wallah. This is the end results, I'm very happy with the purchase of this wig. It was a great deal and the wig looks great for my photo shoots. The curls stay in pretty nice, and the only thing I dislike and wish they didn't do is the hair color change at the end of the wig. It makes it look like the wig has split ends, but it's easy enough fix by trimming it up. My dog costs $ 25. The wig was $ 12.48. My total price was $ 37.48. That'S a great deal for an American Girl doll. Thank you for watching my video. The wig seems to be of good quality, and is much cheaper then some of the other brands. I am thinking about redoing hair for an Our Generation doll. My AG dolls are all collector dolls, so I don’t want to mess up the value of the doll. I check eBay pretty often looking for a fixer upper , but so far I haven’t gotten one whose wig needed changing. I would love to go to the benefit sale in Wisconsin in July, but from Alabama to Wisconsin and back is a little far to go just to buy dolls. At least my husband thinks it is anyway.
