Ben, AKA Vanity, from Wigs By Vanity shows how to brush and wash a Courtney Uber Riah.

These videos teach the fundamentals of washing a synthetic wig, i know it might seem basic but a lot of people ask me for the basics. So here it is.

Hi, I'm Ben from weeks by vanity and I'm popular demand, I'm going to start doing tutorial so he's my first one. Today I was going to go through and just do the most basic thing that you can do with look to a week, but one of the most necessary things is brushing it and washing it. Okay. So I've got this beautiful Courtney in story. Sweetheart that a friend of mine has my customer has has um has given me and she's, not in a terrible state but she's not in a great state, so we're gon na start by cleaning lace. Now isopropyl alcohol. You can buy it from a hardware store, you can buy it for a bu supplier um and sometimes you can back from the pharmacy or chemist, but it depends on where you live, and what your rules and laws are. It'S like. I love to alcohol or close to 100 centers possible. I think it's like ninety. Seven point, nine nine point, seven something doesn't say on here, but it's trust me I've, tasted and it is strong. Okay, so build a bowl put a little bit into Bowl. You can have it in a spray atomizer, which is really easy when you're traveling um, but when I'm at home, in my we groom, is always use a bowl ah and I also use toothbrush chucks and with brush or juice cloth um. Now, if you care for the toothbrush, because it can fray the edges of your lace but be gentle you're, fine and if you've got any build-up as well, it's really good because those little bristles get right in those holes and really work out that that um blue. So this is this week, hasn't actually gotten good, because Santa has been very good, she's cleaned it for me, um getting weeks better, but like a month with more than 50 monopolies, it's revolting anyway um. It is doing, though, so so I just sweep make sure you sit up in toothbrush into the alcohol and then simply on the inside, give it a gentle but firm, rub: okay, I don't wan na say a scrub good scrub. No, I don't want you to say all badly said you could do this and I did it and Freight my lace and it's all it depends on your consideration, your care, okay, I do this all the time with leaks and I never a problem. So don't come to me saying that you me up, oh, I can say Connor into it. Um, so just do that nice and slowly that rush it and remember. If you do this every day, you don't have to worry about sitting there for hours and hours and hours brushing off thick layers of crusty glue, which will damage your lace because you've got to get in there and go do it hard um. So the challenge is all the way around and point in our it'll be nice and clean okay. So all this was now actually I might've half, but now I'm gon na show you a little secret a little trick. Okay, so put in half my nice plane now I'll leave the rest of it. Ah, when I'm washing it okay, so we'll get better at this part, so we've clean away so we'll be up to one time. That'S fine! So the hardest thing about a Kourtney or any curly week for that matter is that people are scared of brushing it out the fear of losing the coat it won't happen if it's a factory set. If it comes like that, then it should always stay like that. It may never, it never looks the same as when you bought it, because it's impossible for this hair and it moves and everything else, but it won't ever be straight unless you make it straight so we'll look after and brush it up, I'm going to start with Dome stick and see underneath it gets quite naughty and quiet dread lucky and that's normal, especially anyone put that down, especially if you wear necklaces and stuff like that and just a sweat on back your neck in the heat will make it crease up so three lap And then, with these these matted pieces just use your fingers and separate them just just pull them apart. So they're, not one big chunk of it's sort of a much looser miss than it is um, big, Chuck, J box so and that grows the same all over the week. But if you have a big chunk somewhere, that's snow here seed, it see how that's like all one piece, just get it with your fingers and separate it. You really not gon na, do much damage to it. This way, because you you knock, you can feel with the um really fingertips. If you pull you too hard and, of course, put your powers, what damages the fiber, so you will sometimes get a little chunk of hair. That will not happen. There will be like a little knot that, like a little tumbleweed that comes out, then, where I get rid of up, you don't want you've done the damage deal with it. So this also wouldn't be so bad if this is done more regularly like if it is, this customer had done this every night that she wore it and she took it off. She just made sure that there were no big chunks in there. It will never develop into these big chunks too long, but also you also be really aware of when it needs to wash and when it needs to be brushed. Um, and I would say, you really need to wash a wig every couple over a few ways. So every every three to four ways: if you want to look nice and beautiful anyone last a long time, you have to put the effort into it to make it last. Otherwise, you just wear it and the sets a little bit about living in this disposable world. You buy something that is quite expensive, considering the amount of work that goes into it and you wear it have fun with it dispose of it, buy a new one, if not put your fit in, and the work and look after your things, guys with wife just General good advice from me to you every okay, so I've done that now we're going to what are we up to yeah? Okay, so we're going to spray a little bit of spray shine into it like a little bit conditioner, you don't want a wet conditioner. Don'T get like why those pumps that make the hair wet because that's gon na make it more difficult, and you know just just not right for synthetic wigs, you won't aerosol. Okay, the best aerosol I've ever known is called Delbert spray, sheen treatment, and it is just divine, it's perfect. It'S just that all the formula is it feels like a steam. You, cancer spray in the other smell yeah, it's in your lungs. It'S there, you know yeah. It'S nothing to help you, but that's one out of stock. We just continue can't make anymore can't get any more if they want ever sees it by up big, but this is PPS is called extra shine and it's fine. It'S good! It'S one of the better ones. A fudge also makes a good one, but if you really like you know really cheap still, gon na spray, for your sewing machine - or you have from your hardware - is fine. That is not the best, but it'll do, but I'm going to not waste my double space. Even this week, I'm going to remember how use the PBS okay so stayed on, be generous. This is going to help the brush glide through and the fire knots, so I've got like a wide tube vent brush and I'm just going to just go through it and see what needs most attention like. I can see that this side is quite good. The brush is going through another pump on, but when I send out a problem, if I've tried to put the brush in like this at the top and pull it all the way down to the end, you're going to have damage from the top to the end Of the fiber simple, as that synthetic fiber is like elastic, it's a plastic viola and when you put a lasts it to timing, it like really old underwear, if they were never keeps our underwear that long, um or anything elastic in it and a little s. It coils that's from overuse over stretching exactly same with a synthetic fiber. The synthetic fiber will stretch and that's what it boils back into a curl and you get those really frizzy ends. So we want to avoid that and brushing is probably the biggest cause of that. So I really get in there and, like I said, rather than putting it in and drag it all the way down to all those knots put in I just get taking it out. You can see I'm working it on out because now all the knot, so there are here in the line - that's nice as I'm walking out and they want to get to a chunk rather than getting to the chunk and then pull you through that, and I worked That out, it takes a long time, but it took a long time for this way to get this knowledge so put the etherium. Okay, you can hear it, you can feel it and hear it if you hit it, that's the hair, tearing and ripping and stretching so you want to sort of take the brush out before it gets that point. Since you keep a not take the brush it out and then work it out and you'll work it out seal, it's like that, just a bad bit of action, the risk that you got ta get used to. Okay, so basically did it all over and then underneath this is the hardest part, so really get some nice shine and then put on your lab working from the ends and rushing down. Isn'T it the same technique? Okay, so I've rushed out. That'S how we um. What'S going through with the same process that I explained before, the whole thing is: if you see me now or just going through it, there will be some not still in it, but that's! Okay! You never gone out physically weak you're, never gon na get back. Super super smooth. You
