Hi there wig lovers. This is a brief discussion about wig caps, namely, what kind should you use.? There are some pretty hard and fast rules for which caps you should use in which situation. So lets start with the most basic kind of cap, which is a standard nylon. Cap. Looks a lot like pantyhose doesn't have any elastic in it., It's just like pantyhose.. This is usually the best kind of cap to wear if you don't have a lot of hair to put underneath your wig.. So if your bio hair is very short or you have very transparent, monofilament features and you would like to make the most of them. This is a great way to go because it provides a very nice semi-opaque sort of scalp. Look under those monofilament features. Helps lighten them up and make them a little bit more noticeable.. The next kind is your fishnet cap.. Fishnet caps have a couple of advantages to them.. They have this reinforced bit of elastic right at the front hairline. So if you have problems with your wig caps, namely this kind, the nylon, kind, slipping and sliding around you may want to try one of these fishnet ones instead, because that elastic helps them stay in place.. The other thing is these: come in 2 different kinds.. They come in closed end like this one.. This is a BelleTress antibacterial one., But they can also be open at the end like the Henry Margu caps., And you know the more hair you have, the more likely you might need one of the open ended ones. So you can tie your own knot in it. If you need to., You get a little bit more flexibility for more hair in the open, ended ones, but these are no slouch and they tend to be very comfortable. These close ended ones they're a little bit easier to manage if your hair is mid length or shorter.. What, if you don't wanna, wear any kind of cap under your wig, but at the same time you experience headaches or friction at the perimeter where your lace is, or you know the wig slips and slides around, because you don't have anything underneath it.. Then there are a couple things you could try.. One thing is a cotton wig, liner. They're, basically socks for your head. I'll, show you what I do with these in just a moment. It'll basically be the last thing I show you. The other thing that I do when I'm hot. I just wear one of these Hair grips the velvet hair grips. And I don't wear a wig cap at all.. The hair grip stays in place all on its own, and then you can put the wig on over top of it.. The wig will stay in place very nicely, and this will actually help. If you get pressure headaches from your wigs, it adds like a little extra barrier of protection, so it not only helps it fit more securely, but it can actually help it fit more comfortably. As well. Now, if you opt to go without a wig cap on at all, underneath your wig you're gon na have to wash them more frequently., They're gon na get sweaty and gross. You can always spray them out with some dry shampoo once in a while, but you will have to wash them more frequently if you sweat in them more.. The other thing that I recommend to people, especially if you have a sensitive scalp, are these liners.. What I do with the liners is probably different from what most people do with them., But I think this is a pretty nice way of dealing with them. I get little self-adhering Velcro discs, you can get them at the craft store. And I adhere part of it To the inside of the cap, usually on the felt features, and then I put the other end on the backside of one of these guys. And then what I do is. I will lay that liner inside the wig and adhere it with the Velcro.. I don't have any Velcro in this one at the moment, I'm just kind of showing you how I put it in there., So I put it in there like a sock, like I'm faking, a french top for the wig. And if a little bit sticks out over The side you can either tuck it in or you can cut it., But these things are great.. The one thing they don't do, though, is they don't restrain your hair and they don't stay in place on their own., So you have to figure out some way like. I just mentioned with the velcro to get them to stay on the inside of your wig caps., But most of the year. I don't wear any wig cap at all. If I don't have that much hair, which I don't it's really short in the back. So sticking, my Cameron on by Jon Renau - is a really easy task.. If you have hair, though you're gon na want some kind of wig cap to restrain it, or else it's going to poke out from underneath your wigs easy right, So those are really the best ways to deal with it. Either. No cap, wig grip, wig grip with any combination of these, would be great as well.. You can either wear a very basic nylon cap. It'S best for under monofilament features if you're really picky about how those monofilament features. Look. They're, also really good. If you don't have a lot of hair, so if I were gon na wear a wig cap right now, this is the kind that I would be wearing the nylon kind.. The fishnet kind is, if you have a lot of hair, they come in open ended. Even it, you need more room to hide all your hair in there. And then cotton wig liners don't restrain the hair, but they do add a comfortable layer in between you and the inside of your wig cap.. They also help absorb sweat, so you don't have to wash the interior of your wig quite as frequently kind of like a sock., So I'm Heather I'm from CysterWigs.com. Hopefully this has helped kind of demystify. What kind of wig caps you should be. Helen Bovay: Thank you!!! And I do appreciate your videos! I've just started wearing wigs to make my life easier and I always search out your channel to search for colors and styles. BTW I'm anxiously awaiting delivery of my 'clearance' wig from you - Morgan. I'm excited!!!

Arthur Kurtzhall: Can you possibly do a special segment in the future about how to cover the demarcation line showing under a lace front if you wear a wig cap? I know it's an issue with wig wearers and you have/are a plethora of information. You are the wig master and people trust your information

Zi Brown: There's always something else to learn. Thanks for this...I didn't know about the cotton liner or the purpose of the fishnet liner. The nylon is what I have now and like it fine.

eclecticpango: As a new wig wearer, I appreciate your advice.

Crazy60sLady: Thank you, this was really helpful. I can tell which I should use. Have a great one! Laura

Liezl Ruurds: Thank you Heather! That was very helpful :) Also, what is the longer wig you were wearing at the beginning of the video? She is stunning!

I4tube2: What great help! Thank you so much for the info.

Kelly Sutton: The bamboo caps are the most comfortable and help to stop the wig from itching

midnightblackroses: Ty for this helpful vid. Silly question, can you see the fishnet caps through a mono part? I'm just starting to get into wigs cause my hair is getting too fine/brittle for toppers but haven't had the courage to cut my long hair yet

Pattiya P: Thank you so helpful!

Juliet Miskolczi: Hi Heather, as a white girl what color wig cap do I need since my hair is brown and I want a brown hair wig?

sdraper2011: Heather - you and I have the same head/wig size. Wig caps are always just a wee bit too small, just enough to slide right off my head! Can you recommend a type/brand that stay on people who have heads our size?

Julie Hanson: Heather...I honestly wanted to know about the wig caps because I just ordered the wrong thing. Next time I'll know just what is needed. Thanks!!!!

Ria’s Mane Event: Lol... Loving this, especially as the Thumbnail makes it look like you are holding up knickers (which I have used as an emergency wig cap - clean of course hahaha)

raeann cardoza: was Just trying to figure that wig color out and i saw your notation! awesome i am sooo wanting to do that!!! thank you please make a vid abt it!

Cheryl De Beer: What two wigs were you wearing in this video clip? Make, quality? The first one looked stunning on you and so natural.

Becca M: I wish they made wig grips in different sizes because they are always too big for my little head lol the caps, for some reason I can understand, simply slip up my head and almost pop off lol it just a matter of minutes.

Indigomyst: Is there a way to keep the wig grip from sliding off your head? No matter if I wear it with a wig cap or by itself...they slip off.

Mable Ashworth: Best wig grip with bio hair❓ thank you

julie moses: I was just going to ask this question when this video was next in my queue!

Kimberly Morgan -wigs: Thank you so much. I think you are so nice and sweet. I love to watch your videos.

Dana Wiemeyer: Should a new wig be washed before you wear it, if you choose to not use a hair cap of any kind?

Micaela: Rockin Heidi!

Pink Candy Leah: I got the Jon Renau one and it had no hold at all. It was like a floppy piece of fabric. Awful because it was 6 dollars.
