Hello and welcome to my channel, my name is Joy on this channel. I talk about everything, natural hair, basically my own personal experience with my natural hair, be it my regimen, my routine and, of course, tips that you can also learn from glad to have you here today in today's video I'm going to be talking about my updated hair, Routine, so basically all the things I do to my hair to keep it healthy, as well as maintain the current length that I have today, but yesterday I washed my hair. I conditioned it and I put them in chunky twist. So what I'll be doing today is basically to have some smaller twists that I can carry throughout the week and while also wearing my wig, which is my protective Style on top of these um smaller twists. So I'm going to tell you today about what has changed in my routine, what I'm currently doing and how this is also impacting the health of my hair, so I'll start off with shampooing. So what have I been? What have I been doing differently with shampooing? So currently I live in Canada and we have we are in the winter months and it has been so cold aside being so cold. The weather is also very dry, and I noticed that my hair and my scalp gets dried faster, so one thing after I drink with shampooing is to shampoo more often at this time. We all know that our hair loves, moisture and one of the best sources of moisture is actually from water itself. So what I've been doing more often right now is a shampoo, as for currently as I can typically probably every week, because I noticed that once I go longer without shampooing, my hair, my scalp test gets so dry and Flaky, and even my hair is also very Dry and even more prone to breakage, so one thing I do currently right now is to shampoo, more often, and if you are in North America or in Canada, you would notice that we have about six to seven months of winter, I'm depending on of cold weather, Depending on the part of North America, you're staying so for me, shampooing more often is something that I found to be beneficial for my hair, especially um during this very dry winter. So I still use the same shampoo I've used for quite some time now. It is called the ORS creamy aloe shampoo. I like the fact that it's um I mean it, does what it's supposed to do. It actually gets rid of any build up, or I mean any dirt in my on my hair and scalp. So I found no reason to change it for now, and this is still what I use to shampoo. So next up is the conditioner uh as usual on my wash day is once I'm done, shampooing my hair, my scalp and my hair. I would follow up with a conditioner, and this conditioner usually has extra level of moisture to my strands. The conditioner I'm currently using is called the Pantene Pro V daily, moisture renewal conditioner. This conditioner is so thick and the first step I used it directly from the bottle of my hair. I felt that probably it wasn't working because my hair wasn't getting the level of moisture. I wanted it to get from this conditioner. So what I then did was to add some of the conditioner and then mix it together with some water in a bottle and then applied it to my arm strands and the difference was phenomenal right. So what I usually do is to apply it all over. My my hair, and then it has this very slight foamy um texture. I mean what should it's not really like a shampoo that is very foamy, but it has a very slight um foamy thing and then I work it all of all over my strands. While my hair is under running water, and the difference was amazing - and I've been doing this for about - I think a couple of months now and I would say that, yes, it's currently working for me after shampooing and conditioning my hair. The next thing I do is dependent on the style I want to achieve. So if I'm doing three styles for that wig, I will use um mousse and then put my hair into smaller twists. But if I'm going to be wearing my wigs that week, all I will just do is what you see me do on the screen. Basically, just put my hair into smaller, 20 or 25 twists like this and then pack them into one bunch of the back and wear my wig um over all of this twists and I start to teach my weight doesn't appear. It doesn't appear swollen in this um when I wear it on top of these wigs, they actually sit just fine um whenever I wear them, so that's it, and one thing I also do this year was to get my I trimmed off my I mean the ends Of my hair very frequently at least about um three times or so or in the course of the year three to four times in the course of the year, just to get rid of any splits and or dead. I mean split ends basically, but I might have had um throughout the year. So this is my new, updated regimen and it's working for me. I would say the length of my hair right now is somewhere um, it's more than my mid-back, but it's in between my mid back and currently um the waist. So this is where my hair stands as I today and so far. I'M also pleased with the health of my hair, because the health of my hair is more important than how long ago, how stress it is, which is something I've learned um over time, but that's it.
