▽I am an Australian Makeup Artist and Beauty Blogger. Here on my channel you will learn tips and tricks on how to apply makeup, beauty & skincare product recommendations and ways to save money on makeup! I also upload easy step by step makeup tutorials that will teach you how to master any makeup look, from a dramatic smokey eye to a soft sun kissed glow! I share tidbits and recommendations that I have learned over the years working as a professional makeup artist in Australia - I am also a qualified Paramedic/Nurse and continue to work in these roles outside of makeup (I lead the ultimate double life!!) - I've got your back when it comes to long wearing makeup for shift workers!

Hey guys, what's up and welcome back to my channel and welcome to today's video and we're gon na be talking about oily hair. I use someone that suffers oily hair. I am so over having oily hair, it's just like who wants to watch the hair everyday. It'S like so annoying, but I have discovered a little tape and it's seriously the easiest thing in the world that will completely change your life if you suffer from oily hair or greasy hair or just you're sick of having to wash your hair, because it always looks Dirty, I know that a lot of you guys subscribe to my channel the same as me. You'Ve got an oily skin type and typically having an oily skin type generally comes hand-in-hand with oily hair. You know as soon as your hair touches your face. It pretty much gets oily as soon as you touch your hair with your hands. It gets oily. We just we're followed around by oil, I'm fine with it like if the dude goes before it's gon na help this age waist lower - you know so later on in life. We'Re gon na have less wrinkles because we're got oily skin, but unfortunately, oily skin usually does mean Whateley hair. Now, if you're like me as well and you've got dark, brunette, hair dry shampoo really isn't an option. I have tried a bunch of different dry shampoo brands and I've got like brunette ones now that are meant to be like tinted with a little bit of color yeah. It still is extremely visible in my hair, like all of my roots, get really really light. Looking. They look really really gross and I also just really don't like the feel or the texture of dry shampoo in my hair like it just oh, it's like gritty, and it just I feel like I'm dirty, wouldn't when it's in my hair. Basically, I'm just not, I mean I'll use it if I'm desperate like, but as a general rule, I'll try and avoid it as much as possible, and also when other people always recommend to me is washing my hair less, like only washing my hair once a week. They'Re, like oh you've, got oily hair, just wash your hair less, you know your body or you know, rebalance, and then you won't get oily hair anymore. I go to the gym like six seven days a week washing my hair once a week is not an option and I mean imagine all the dry shampoo I'd have to use then No well, I'm so excited. I have actually found something that like genuinely works, literally life-changing and so so easy, and so many of you probably gon na, be like. I don't believe you. I don't believe that that works. But I promise you once you try it you'll be like oh yeah, and it is putting salt in your shampoo. I know how disgusting does that sound right? I read it this little hack on Pinterest - maybe maybe it was about 18 months ago, and I remember looking at it being like that's really weird, like some of the things that people try out like. I wonder what made them think of that. But then I was like you know what I've got nothing to lose, I'm actually going to try it you guys within like three to four shampoos. I noticed a massive difference in my hair, so what the salt does and it can be pretty much any kind of salt table: salt sea salt. I pretty much just went into our kitchen and pinched our salt and we use Himalayan pink rock salt brands like a health nut. Basically, I just emptied this into my shampoo bottle. It does dissolve completely so you can't even see it sort of in there anymore, like it's completely gone, so took the top off and did for a whole bottle. I would recommend maybe about like a tablespoon of salt emptied it in there shook it around. It all. Dissolved you can't really tell the difference now and then, basically you just use it like normal. Like you, don't have to change your routine, you don't have to change the way that you shampoo, your hair. You don't have to change the other products that you use or the conditioner do everything as normal. All you have to do is add that tablespoon of salt to your shampoo, now what the salt actually does is it controls the excessively overactive sebaceous glands in your scalp. So sebaceous glands are basically your oil glands and the salt kind of like neutralizes everything and it calms everything down and it stops them from over producing too much oil. It'S such a simple little thing, but I promise you within like three to four shampoos. It doesn't work like instantaneously on the first shampoo, but after, like three shampoos, you'll be like whoa, you will notice that your hair gets so much less oily than it did before. It'S like. Actually it's like kind of scary. How well it works, there's also a bunch of other great benefits to adding salt to your shampoo. It removes the excess like buildup of crap. That'S on your hair. If you're like me, you probably use hair spray, probably use like styling, creams and serums, and you know all that other stuff that we put in the hair will basically like because salt is such a detoxifier and it really cleanses deeply and everything it strips. All of that crap off your hair and know if you've got colored hair, it will not affect it at all, but you'll notice, your hair sort of like it feels like it's got more volume, it'll be shinier and it'll, be bouncy out also using salt on your Scalp is a very well-known way to actually promote hair growth. So, if you're having trouble, you know growing your hair, you want your hair to get longer, adding this to your shampoo as well like there's a really. If it's a face - and it's so easy, I probably seem like I'm acting crazy, but I've been testing this and I was just so excited to share it with you guys and I've had requests from you guys before, like Nakia you're, an oily skin sister. How do you stop your hair from getting oily and I never really had an answer till now, like I really never like. I said I discovered this about eighteen months ago, but I didn't try it until maybe like a month and a half ago, two months ago, I'm lazy - I don't know it's. I forgot about it whatever, but now that I know this little Jam, it needs to be shared. So for all of you go and tell anybody that you know that struggling with oily hair just add a little bit of salt to your shampoo. It would change your life and just as a little reference point before I used to have to wash my hair every single day. I'Ve got extremely long. Hair, probably told you guys this before, like I can basically sit on my hair. It'S that long hi. I used to have to wash my hair every single day, and I mean it's a hassle, especially when you've got long. Hair takes a really long time to blow-dry. Like half an hour like you need to put a good half an hour way to blow-dry it and straighten your hair and it's a pain in the ass like who wants to have to do that every single day, not me, my hair is actually day 3. Look at this no dry, shampoo, nothing, it's still like fluffy. It doesn't look. Olli, I'm a new woman. Just so freaking excited that I discovered this like you have no idea. So, yes, guys, that's pretty much it for today's video. I hope that this little trick helps you as much as it's helped me. I don't really have any like salt recommendations for you. Any kind of salt will work and it doesn't matter what shampoo that you add it to whatever shampoo that you were using right now. Add the salt into it and mind-blown mind-boggled. If you do have any more questions about these or please be sure to pop them in the comment section down below you, guys know how much I love spending time, answering your questions and hanging out with you guys down there and if you've got any other oily Skin dilemmas or oily hair dilemmas or greasy dilemmas that you want to help with please let me know I'm always here to help that's basically the whole purpose of this channel. Alright, I love you guys so much and I will talk to you all in my next video bye.

kelso alonso: I have friends that don’t wash for 3-4 days and they will have ZERO oil. Mine gets oily within 8 hours lmao Edit: 2 years later and I can say sea salt helps soooooo much!!!

Nurani A: Hair is such a big deal in my looks. If my hair is clean I look cleaner and prettier. Dirty hair really changes my skin, I don't know if that's just me.

【!】 7: I didn't wash my hair for one day and it looks like I haven't showered in MONTHS

Zyy: I would literally plan when I should wash my hair so I can go to school with good hair lol

Ali 07: Does anyone else’s hair gets oily if you sleep? Like even a nap for 10 minutes and it’s oily!??

Foodacityyyy: If I could sell the oil in my hair I’d be a millionaire

emilija garoza: I wash my hair then about 9 hours later it looks greasy ;~;

Danelle Maldonado: ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! I actually tried this and let me tell you... you have no IDEA how life changing this is. You are a queen. An angel. Thank you so much for making my life better LMAO I know I’m dramatic but damn. LIKED AND SUNSCRIBED!!!! thank you for being awesome. Seriously

World of Dev: OMG IT WORKED! I washed my hair last night and usally its greasy in the morning, but after one wash with salt I saw a dramatic decrease in the oil. Its still a little oilly, but not nearly as much as I'm used to. I'll post an update after one week.

Ella K.: Who else is checking in the comments to check if it works lol

Ravenclaw Turtle: y’all imagine getting salt shampoo in your eye

Ellie Jenkins: I only have to touch my hair once after a shower and boom it’s greasy

morgieee: Omg this actually worked! I usually can’t go one day without my hair being a greasy mess, but after using the salt I was able to go three whole days without washing my hair!

Jackie: I TRIED THIS AND IT WORKS! I have to wash my hair everyday sometimes twice or else I look like I've never showered in my life, it's been 2 full days since I've washed my hair and it still doesnt look greasy, very good trick indeed

Angela -: this makes total sense, when i went to swimming in the Dead Sea, my hair felt amazing the days afterward. then I came back to the states and once again felt oily and flat

chandler wanlass: My hair is finally soft again!! I am thrilled with how well this worked. I was able to go an extra 2 days without washing my hair and my hair wasn't even as greasy as it usually is when I wash. Definitely a life saver!

Sohini Ashoke: with the amount of oil in my hair I'm surprised the US hasn't invaded it yet

Christine Montana: I’m definitely going too try this tonight I’m so sick of my greasy oily hair I’ll let you know how it works for me :) glad I came across your channel

oh nice: I recommended this method to my aunt cause nothing has worked for her and I’m waiting for the results! I’m also using it and it works so well! Will update once my aunt has gotten back to me! Edit: SHE LOVES IT! Nothing has worked for her except this! Thank you so much for this she is forever great full!

amakub 123: My hair used to get super greasy after JUST 2 DAYS. Heres what I did: First of all, I shampooed twice, spread it evenly in my hands, applied conditioner only on ends, let it sit, then after the shower I blowdried my hair. It might seem easy but here's the tuff part. I stopped touching it. No seriously, stop touching ur hair. You can touch it to get rid of hair in your lipgloss, or face, but seriously stop touching it. Im on day 3 if not washing it and its pretty soft and fluffy, ill update on the whole week tomorrow. Like this so I can come back. Tuesday: Fluffy hair Wednesday: Normal hair Thursday: My friend braided my hair and I forgot that it got greasy fast, and afterwards it got greasy at the roots only. Friday: Wash day

H4nn4h: Got half way through the video and tried this immediately. My hair is drying at the moment and I can already tell it feels so much fluffier and softer at the roofs than it normally does after washing

아미: I’ve been using this trick for about 2 weeks now, but I was able to see results in the first few days. My hair is now waaaay less greasy and now when I run my fingers through my hair it doesn’t leave a filmy weird feeling on my fingers! Really happy with the way this turned out. When I used this I started with half a bottle of shampoo, and I could only find little salt packages at the time, so I used 4 of those little packages for half of a bottle. Hope this helped and good luck with your hair! :D

Karamba: I think it works! Three days have passed since my 3rd wash using ‘salty’ shampoo and my hair is way less greasy than it normally would, I can honestly recommend! Thanks for the hack :)

Lavender’s Books: Honestly thanks so so much!! I’m legit sat here rn with my hair looking like I haven’t watched it I weeks and I washed it YESTERDAY!! It was bad before and ppl said stop washing it so I did and honestly it’s gotten worse and I feel like that was the only advice I was getting but now honestly this sounds amazing!! Thankyou so so much, gonna try this out xxx

Shaharzad Chaiツ: Appreciate this great tip Nikkia!!! Can’t wait to give it a try! For the past couple yrs I’ve used apple cider vinegar & water solution (one part acv to 3 parts water) once a week to thoroughly clean hair and scalp and feel it’s decreased my oiler scalp so much so that I only require to wash my hair 2-3 times a week ;-D

Rhia Desalisa: Oh my! Thanks for this tip, Nikkia! I'm a new sub after watching your make up tips for an oily face. You are really gorgeous! More power to your channel!

Erica Ramirez: I have oily skin and oily hair so imagine how much I struggle.......

Lulu Saad: My scalp was always dry and I could go 4 days without washing. Now it still feels greasy even after washing. I’ll definitely give this a go.

stupid: This works, I've been doing it for 2 days now. My hair has been getting less greasier every time I take a shower.

Mae L: I have relatively straight black hair. I tried this trick for the first time 3 days ago and my hair doesn't even look oily, I think I can go a 4th day! Within those 3 days, I did a 25km hike. Thanks for the tip!

Baby Skate: I'm almost in tears after watching your intro. I 100% relate to everything you experience too!! I'm desperate and I'm definitely going to try this trick. THANK YOOOOU I've tried washing my hair less for the past 10 years and every year my hair gets more and more oily. I've used dry shampoo (hate it AND it makes my hair feel filthy), I've tried about 10 different shampoos to try to stop the oiliness, and nothing helps except suave daily clarify. But its still extremely oily after 24 hours, and about 6-12 hours it gets oily with any other type of shampoo or if I wear it down for thr day. Basically I have to always wear my hair up or it gets drenched

Sara: giiirrrllll THANK YOU!!! I can't WAIT to try this! I'm 34 and STILL suffering from excessively oily skin/hair. It's been my curse my entire life. lol THANK YOU!!! Liked and subscribed! <3

Scorpion: My hair is more greasier than a McDonald's big Mac Literally hate my hair more than I hate myself

Amanda W.: I’m so excited to find you!! Not that many oily youtubers out there :) and I’m so allergic to dry shampoo plus I hate hearing about washing my hair less haha

A Anschuetz: Literally found this video while standing in the shower searching tips to combat oily hair. Texted my daughter to bring me the salt. She’s 17 and also has oily hair by day 2. We have fine textured hair, but a LOT of it. I’m currently standing here with salted Biolage on my head as I type this. Will update in a few! Side note: it did make my shampoo loose it’s gel-like thick texture and made it really runny ‍♀️ Hope it works!

samantha wright: About ti run downstairs and do this RIGHT NOW! My hair is so FINE AND OILY! I hate having to wash everyday and have endedup just doing slick back buns to hide it if i dont have time to wash and blowdry before i need to leave for work! Luckily i have 3 days off till my next shift so lets see

chanelkim: Greasy hair, BE GONE!! Thank you for this trick. I pull my bangs out of my face because it is soooo damn greasy, I’ve tried this and it definitely works! You saved my hair thank you

saher mahmood: Thank you Nikkia ! Love you !!! ❤ It was a life changer !!!

Kia Abbas: I’m so so glad I found this vid cause omg—I tried this a few days ago for a week and my hair had a significant difference!! For everyone out there: this really works!! Thank you so much for this video!!!

Karla H.: Just another tip I saw on IG. I used Hard candy translucent powder and a blow dryer (on dry hair). Apply on the area that is oily and as you stimulate your scalp with your hand, blow dry on a warm setting. I can go 3 days without having to wash my hair. My hair has calmed down a bit with getting oily.

Megan Henry: Simple, easy and effective! thank you

Olivia Rose: I do space buns in my hair at about day 3. This way it looks like I’m trying to do a slick Look, rather than people noticing it’s just crap. I get loads of compliments on it too. They’ll never know lmao

Alisa Muravitskaya: It worked! End of day 2, and my hair feels fresh! The very first wash helped!

Lumi: Coming from someone who knows a lot about hair care, this does work! Salt is typically used in products such as scrubs, however, it dries out your hair a lot. I understand that this is what we are going for. However, I typically enjoy using something like a hair mask afterwards to try to bring back moisture. Then again, I do not have a hair grease problem.

Hey its Lashelle: Her: *puts salt in shampoo* Me: *puts salt in my lotion, hair products, socks, face wash and more*

Sophie Osullivan: I tried it! It actually works, great results but you may need to wash your hair 2 or 3 times and make sure the salt is mostly fully dissolved into the shampoo and use circular motions around your scalp. Rock salt works best.

Mesmerizing Eyes: This girl is a gods sent! This really works because I have the most oil hair in the world and it worked for me. Almost scary how well this works.

Alexandria Johnson: Thank you for making this video! My mom watches you and when I saw you made this video (which I needed) I knew I should watch it. Thank you!

Lay Ann: I totally am gonna try this. I also so far recommend as well using Treseme Full and Thick. Usually after I wash my hair, it still feels like there is still shampoo in my hair. One wash of this and holy crap. It felt like I was actually clean. No build up, it actually was textured for lack of better words, instead of smooth and greasy. So I bet this mixed with that and holy crap. Rock star hair.

Maggie Lee: You can also use a water softener! It makes your skin super soft too!

OxyCodin: I have dry skin and oily hair wtf

Jellz K: GIRL. I hope this works for me. THANK YOU!

Olivia Grace: It’s only been one wash so I haven’t got maximum results but usually my hair gets greasy after 1-2 days and I’m on my 3rd day and I’ve used a bit of Dry Shampoo and I could definitely get away with going out without it looking greasy, I’m excited to see more resilts

Nichole Christina: Getting ready to try this!!! I HOPE it works for me! I’ll try anything !

Roxana Maria: You know what, this is an amazing idea! I noticed that every time I went for a swim in the sea, my hair would be less oily for a while. THANK YOU!

paltin izabella: Oily hair squad here !❤

Millie Palmer: it really does stop your hair from being greasy, my hair used to last only 1 1/2 days without being oily, then i tried this and i can go up to a full week! it worked wonders however, i get dandruff and it’s soooo annoying❤️would totally recommend!!!!

Andżelika Zabłocka: Ok guys, I am literally now adding a table spoon to my shampoo and heading to the bathroom. If my hair would look better tomorrow evening or next few days I will update the comment. I do not really believe in that, but if it does work, I will be completely shocked and astound. Day 1: woke up with really beautiful, shiny but not oily hair - basically I am having greasy hair the morning after shower in the night before, so i was surprised. Evening: oily as it used to be. Let's try this again today. Day 2: it seems like it is working, I am having less greasy hair than normal at the end of the day.

Nicki Silvers: I wash my hair in the morning and by the time I go to bed, I already feel like it needs washed again. It's so annoying! But I love the Batiste dry shampoo with the brunette tint. It smells really good and works great for me. Only downfall is that it's a lil expensive so when I run out I will rub a lil powder on my roots and it works. I'm just not a fan of the smell of powder so it's a last resort but it definitely works! Just use as sparingly as possible, especially if you have dark hair because it can make your hair look kinda white! I'm definitely going to try this trick with the salt though! Wish me luck!

Savannah Nault: Super oily haired girl, here. I try to wash my hair every other day, sometimes I push it for an extra day (doesn't mean it looks good) and while I've "trained" my hair, it's still pretty oily. It's not like I could wear it down with cute pieces trailing by my face, because within hours it will be so damn greasy. I put my hair back and away from my face- it's the only way to keep it looking fresher for longer. Keep in mind that you could follow all the tips to a T but it will still depend on your hairs texture. If you have thin hair, you're kinda screwed. If you have thicker hair, you'll have better results. I haven't tried the salt in the shampoo thing, but I do know if I take a salt soak and get some of the salt around my hairline and whatever creeps up the back of my neck, the next day when I shampoo my hair is so full and thick.

AnonymousTingz: Honestly not having to wash you're hair everyday (Ofc you need to wash it more than once a week but you don't need to wash you're hair EVERYDAY),making your hair less oily/greasy and having long hair. That's so much positives in literally just ONE change in your hair products. I'll try it out and tell y'all how it went tmr!

Lex Heart: Thank you for sharing this!!!! It works!!!! My hair does not get that oily in the day only after 24 hours. Thanks again!

Los Vlogs de Ana: Unfortunately I have oily skin but dry along with oily scalp but dry ends ‍♀️

Melanie Nix: I spent 5 weeks in the Bahamas on a sailboat with no fresh water to shower in. So I was basically left with just bathing in the ocean and let me tell you, my hair was not greasy after 5 weeks of no shampooing. The salt in the ocean also cured my acne and other skin problems. I’ve been trying to recreate that since and I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before! Thank you!

Nudrat Rana: This actually does work! I have been doing this for like a month now, and my hair is less oily. It also feels heavier and has more volume. I don't think it helps with dandruff unfortunately. Also, my hair tarted falling more after this. I don't really know if it is because of the salt or my othr life choices. But yeah, it does work.

Lorna Scott: *****ATTENTION!!!!!***** To all of my oily, greasy haired sisters and brothers: THIS WORKS!!!! Today is February 23, 2020. I watched this video yesterday and thought, “There’s no damn way this works”. I have extremely oily hair and skin. I live deep down in southwest Louisiana....y’all, the humidity down here makes my hair RIPE. I put a tablespoon of finely ground pink Himalayan salt (from Wal-Mart) in my Suave Clarifying shampoo last night. I shook that bottle and let it sit until it dissolved. I washed my hair...and woke up to non-oily hair. It is now 5:08. I have been outside. As usual, I’ve twirled and played in my hair all day. MY HAIR IS STILL NOT GREASY!!! I’m shook! At this time of the day, I joke that I can squeeze the grease out and cook with it!!!!! So, if you’re looking for whether or not this works, the proof is right here. SEASON UP THAT SHAMPOO, SHA!!!! You will be amazed!

🥀gเgเ ヅ: I'm 25 and my hair gets oily within a couple of hours and it gets even worse when I go outside. Dry Shampoo has never made a difference for me, and I've tried 2 different brands - several products under the brand's name, I've tried many many shampoos. I'm on Heads and Shoulders Citrus Shampoo 2 in 1 (+ Conditioner) FOR GREASY HAIR and it lasts until I go to sleep... Then the next morning I'm greasy again... It really sucks so my question is, is it worth trying this hack, especially with a 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner? Will it still work wonders if its used with a 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner? I'm eager to try this hack but I'm wondering if anyone using similar S+C to me has noticed a change. Also I do not use any other products in my hair for the specific fact that it's overly OVERLY greasy, but I am hoping to start if I can control the oil more.

Urte Melyte: FINALLY someone who doesn't just suggest "not washing your hair for a week"! After watching this I realized that when I tried Christophe Robin's salt scrub shampoo my hair was better immediately. That's expensive, so I'll try the adding salt to my normal shampoo hack from now on! Thank you!

Alena K: So I stumbled upon this video and was rly interested and sort of thought it made sense because after a week vacation of swimming in salt water my hair wasn’t oily and felt super thick even after many showers, it did however feel dry and sort of crunchy. Then again that was HOURS EVERYDAY, and this has been working for many people so I did some research and watched a bunch of YouTube videos about salt and if it was ok for your hair. This is my findings, hope it helps! Washing your hair with anything too often can cause it to get more oily, so after a while of washing it less often it might get better. This is only if you are willing to let your hair get pretty greasy for a while in order for the desired results. Salt can help exfoliate your hair just like some people do on their faces to get rid of gunk and dead skin (same affect) The salt can help dry out your hair giving it a sort of dry beachy look/give your hair volume and make it look thicker However even though it does get rid of oils in your hair, it can dry it out too much depending on the quantity so it’s best to not use it every time you wash your hair or it can be damaging in the long run. Some people recommend only once a month and others say once a week Salt does help keep your hair from getting oily as fast There is something called sea salt spray I think that people use for these effects, I’m assuming as an alternative to dry shampoo Overall a pretty good tip! I will try this and give updates, I’ll probably use this every other shower until my hair gets slightly less oily and then start to slowly stop using it as often until once every two weeks is sufficient. Hoping that works! I might end up using this every week or week and a half depending on the results Day 1: after using the shampoo salt and putting my hair up in a bun overnight it looked extra nice right as I took the bun out in the morning, looked as usual after I brushed it. I had practice for a couple hours in 85 degree weather with no clouds or wind and my hair still looks super nice and feels super soft. Day 2: Sadly my hair was pretty much how it always is on this day (not acceptable in public without putting it up or using dry shampoo), started off a little bit better but after an hour or two it looked as usual. She did say it takes a couple of washed though. I’ll change my plan and use this method every shower rather than every other shower to get results faster Day 3: my hair didn’t get much worse from day 2 which is a big improvement. Showered in the afternoon Day 4: my hair doesn’t look as perfect as it did yesterday but there was an improvement from normal Day 5: showered again and my hair looked perfect when it dried Day 6: not much better than before and my head is a bit itchy, I’ll shower with no salt tonight

Shy_gun:]: Thank youuu ur such a queen my hair use to look like I washed my hair with oil but now it’s AMAZING thank you!:)

Katherine Spencer: So glad I found this!! I dont have to wash everyday but by day 2 my crown and generally abit all over is just not fresh and it's that awkward greasy but not enough for a full wash stage and its just erhhg then day 3 it's like I haven't washed it in a month‍♀️I also hate the feeling of dry shampoo too! Thanks for this

Alejandrina Martinez: Literally my favorite part of my whole hairstyle are my bangs and those get oily like 4 hours after I shower, and I can’t stop showering for a week since I go out so often.

Bhavya Singh: This thing surely works....I got the results on my second wash. Not only that....it makes the hair very glossy.

Myamarie TV: I'm gonna try this! Not sure if I've got oily skin and hair because I'm a teenager but i still wanna try this for the time being! Thanks for the hack been struggling with greasy/oily hair for a few months now❤

Crystal Harmon: Thanks for this! I wash my hair and it is oily in only a few hours and even sooner if I sweat in the slightest in this Georgia heat. I am definitely going to try it!!! Wish me luck lol

Laura Meza: You provided info on something I didn't even know was possible. Thanks!!!

Lizzyk 318: Running upstairs with salt, my husband is concerned lol

butterflycookies: hi :) so i‘m here to actually tell you if this works and... YES! so, I usually wash my hair once in two days as it‘s short, but the day after i get greasy roots. I tried this out and followed everything she said (which isn‘t too complicated lol) and treated my hair as always do like constantly going through it with hands haha oh and I only use shampoo and conditioner... and it‘s not greasy AT ALL! try it out and thank you so much for this it is truly a life saver❤️

Maria Romanova: Thank you so much! I will try starting today I am struggling with greasy hair my whole life

Rosi Sanchez: My hair gets greasy after school, and I hate to come everyday at home after school and see myself in the mirror and be like did I just put a whole bottle of oil on my hair. Thanks so much for this life hack and I am so excited to try it. How long does your hair can hold after using salt? ❤️❤️❤️❤️

maya: it makes sense, like coming from the beach with less oily hair

fatima akoob: So yesterday I tried this wonderful trick, I could already feel a difference after the first wash! 24 hours later and I’m still yet to see grease in my hair (usually my hair would be greasy by now!) my hair felt so much silkier after the first wash and was somehow more softer while I was drying it. Thank you so much for this tip nikkia! I can’t wait to see how well this works

G Beautyyy: I cant wait to start trying this. I am tired of my oily hair!

Alyssa: I watched this at like 2 am and I tried this out she said it prob wouldn’t be super effective on the first shampoo but GIRL THIS STUFF ITS I recommend it

Valerie Cacho: Omg it worked at first I was hesitant because I was like what if it didn’t work but I tried it I took 1 tbs of the salt put it in my shampoo then I massages my scalp for about a minute or maybe two then I let it air dried and I saw less dandruff and less greasy thank u so much omg.

bdwithluv: I’m so glad I’m not the only one who gets greasy hair quickly

LaurenAshley: Yes I can totally relate I absolutely hate that my hair gets so oily I am definitely going to try this bc the whole “don’t wash your hair as much” or dry shampoo has never worked so thank you so much for this tip!❤️

Star Girl: Yes!! I’m definitely trying this!! Thank you!

Hypnotized Kahuna: I have dry skin and hair. This video is really helpful for me to care my husband's oily hair.

aliya: oily face, oily hair ‍♀️

Neptune: i'll try to update after a few days :) edit : okay so it's been a few days and YES THIS WORKS. My hair is so much less greasy and it's so cool. Definely recommend it :) edit 2 : okay so it's been few months and my hair dosen't even get greasy anymore!!

Diana Reynolds: Hey everyone! I just had my first wash with salt and it kinda looks less shiny and a little drier in the places that used to get so oily i am looking forward to my 2nd wash and i'll see what is gonna happen

hodesa11: Finally a real solution! Every other video just recommends baby powder or cornflower which are exactly like dry shampoo. Thank you so much!

quit: Thankyou Nikkia, my hair has been very oily!

Louise: Just before I found this vid, I tried vinegar. I think it improved my hair but I still didn’t make it to day 2 - I had to put it up in a bun because it looked too greasy. But I would say with the vinegar treatment it extended the longevity of my non oily hair about 4 extra hours. Has anyone else used vinegar? Wish me luck with the salt. I hope I will only have to wash my hair every 3-4 days!

Sophie Purdue: Hi Nikkia! Have you continued to use this hack everyday? I'm really struggling to find a shampoo and conditioner that I can leave my hair for my than one day with!! A few reviews online say you should only do this once a week?

Sara: While we're at it, I highly recommend rubbing 3 tbs of jojoba oil diluted with maybe 1/4 tsp of lavender oil onto the scalp, that ALSO works wonders and makes your hair beautiful (and yes, I used to have to wash my hair every single day as well so I'm not one of those "you just have to wash your face" types who don't get the severity of oily skin lol) You can also use it on your face. Also I hear a supplement called DIM works very well to internally reduce sebum production. A combination of zinc, vitamin A and D3 also DRASTICALLY reduced my overall oil production (I have actually tried this with great success)! I think we've all suffered enough lol

Callie Patras: ok so i haven’t seen any comments about how well this works or not so im just going to do this after 1st wash: my hair got oily like normal after a full day. I can tell that it does seem to be a LITTLE less oily in general but not too much of a difference after 2nd wash: in progress :)

Marcy Byrne: I've tried several sea salt sprays, they just make my hair feel gritty. Adds volume tho. The experts say being oily keeps your skin more youthful. I say oily skin causes more harm than good. Acne, shiny glare, dissolves makeup, oily hair is smelly hair. Yep, nothing good about being a oily girl.
