Hi guys, this is wildly seven one, six or Sarah, and I just detangled and conditioned washed my hair. So that's what this video is, that it's pretty frequently requested and if you don't know what conditioner washing is it's basically where you scrub off the dry, scalp and dandruff and build-up with Jeff's conditioner. And then i show you how i conditioned the link with my hair and tingle and just some extra tix tips and tricks. So I hope you enjoy this video. The rest is voiceover, bye, okay, so first thing you're doing you get in the shower is take your glasses off, which is good if you're a glasses and next you wanna thoroughly rinse your hair and get it really sopping wet before you put new products in so Yeah just get it good and I like to use for my conditioner washing swab naturals. This is a coconut scent. I also really like the pomegranate scent and the ocean breeze scent, but the Alberto vo5 once I go to so. Basically, I take some addition. Air. I put on the tips of my fingers and run massage my scalp with the tips of my fingers like here. I'M doing the left side of my head, I'm getting up at the front near the crown and I'm getting behind my ears and it's basically like you're, giving yourself one of those massages from the hair salon, and this is the proper way to clean your scalp. Whether you use shampoo or conditioner, this conditioner washing but yeah, so now I did on the right side. I like doing the left side on my right side in the back of my head, and it's really important that you do this with the tips of your fingers and not your fingernails, because your fingernails will definitely tear up your skull and if you scratch too hard, You can make it bleed, so definitely just use the tips of your fingers here, I'm getting around the part which, for me, is a particularly dry area and you want to keep massaging your whole head until it's not itchy at all anymore, and so this is pretty Much it it's easy as pie, you just put conditioner on your scalp and then massage with your fingertips and like gentle but thorough, circular motions and then people a lot of times. Ask me how to do I co wash and the answer is. I fell. Watch every time I take a shower or wash my hair. So that's about every two days or every day, because I just have dry scalp and if they don't go wash it. My scalp gets really itchy. But that's a very personal thing and some people can go a lot longer between conditioner washes and it's better for their hair. So you just have to figure that out for yourself. Oh so now I'm doing the back and I just get back my head in the nape of my neck and then I do an all-over massage and this petitioner often gets rid of the dandruff any dry scalp and you build up and it's really the motion of Your hands, that's cleaning, your hair, it's not the shampoo, because I just strips off the oils, so conditioner washing is a really good alternative and when you're done, you want to rinse it out. So the pressure runs down your hair and starts detangling and yeah. Thanks for watching continue to part 2 bye,

RikkaMika: Thanks so much for making this video! I always wondered if I was conditioner washing my hair right or not, it seems there are some things I could do which you suggested that might work even better. ^_^ When people just write up a tutorial and say "scrub your scalp with your fingertips", I always wondered how exactly they meant. This actually shows me how to do it, thanks again!

shibbydoo322: @waterlily716-I use it on my ends too overnight, it really softens them. It's supposed to prevent splits, but I still have them and the coconut oil makes them feel less dry and brittle. I found my coconut oil at Whole Foods for about $10 :) Good luck, I know an itchy scalp is such a pain. (and co washing does help it too!)

Waterlily716: Hi! I apply conditioner in the way I did in this video, and it does not tangle the hair at the roots. Just make sure not to pile all the length of your hair on top of your head and you will be fine. You do not have to massage when rinsing out. Just make sure to stand under the water for at least 3 minutes and it should all be gone. Lift up the hair so the water gets at all the scalp. A little bit of conditioner is not going to cause big problems either. :) Look for a cheap, silicone free CO.

MsDena610: I just love your videos. I big chopped back in October and I LOVE co-washing. It is very moisturizing.

Waterlily716: @shibbydoo322 Kinda, I have this happy scalp treatment, and it's mostly olive oil. Sometimes I apply a little to itchy parts before the shower and it helps a lot. I will have to try some coconut oil through. :) I've heard it's great for the ends of the hair too.

glittergrl326: Hi Sarah, I've been really enjoying your videos and have watched a whole bunch of them but I'm kinda confused about using the suave conditioner. I thought you didn't want to use anything with sulfates in it and the second ingredient in it is Sodium Laureth Sulfate

Waterlily716: If you have fine hair, or hair that doesn't need a lot of moisture, you might not. It depends on the person. :) For me I have VERY dry hair, so in order to get a brush though it/add moisture, I need to apply a conditioner on the length of my hair. Sometimes I don't rinse out my cowash til the end of my shower though.

Waterlily716: @LaraBabeXxX Hmmm make sure that you are apply a good amount of conditioner to the back of your hair in the shower, and give it a little extra leave in conditioner. Also make sure it's getting as much gel as the sides. Hope that helps!

Kellie Pacanowski: Thanks for the reply. I was considering co washing every other day also but I was worried I would over wash it or something silly like that.

Jenni: I have always done this process with my fingers/product naturally because I can't get product to my scalp through all my hair any other way, haha! :)

Bridget B: For the conditioning wash ...do you really need to condition again after doing this?

shibbydoo322: @waterlily716-You mentioned having an itchy scalp, have you tried oiling your scalp with coconut oil? I have sebhorric dermatitis and this is the only way I can get rid of the patches and flakes. I bought a tub from whole foods, I warm it up in the microwave and apply it to my scalp and leave it overnight and wash it in the morning with a low poo. Your hair might take two washes for the oil to completely dissipate but it works wonders for my scalp!

Waterlily716: @sjam2112119 try adding some brown sugar or regular sugar to your shampoo/conditioner that you use to scrub your scalp. it will help to exfoliate off all the dead skin. hope that helps!

Waterlily716: I mean you could do either. Sulfate free shampoo would probably be an easier transition. :) But if you're interested in CG method/co-washing I say try it. Your scalp will have to adjust though and it may be oily for a week or two. Rebecca kelsey (another vlogger) has fine hair with some wave, and she went no-poo :)

Waterlily716: Cowashing is so gentle, you can do it everyday :)

Waterlily716: if you want to shampoo every so often that's a personal choice, but yes it usually doesn't affect your hair too much. :) if you're following the CG method, i recommend you use a sulfate free shampoo though. the ingredients in shampoos are intended to lather. that is going to happen regardless of whether you have buildup in your hair, unless you use a "lather-free" shampoo. :) does that answer your question?

Waterlily716: @rainorchid11 hmmm it think i'll try mixing my no-poo and co wash. good idea! :) if your hair gets over conditioned i would recommend lightening up its conditioner intake and using a lighter conditioner. clarifying is supposed to really help. you might also try apple cider vinegar or baking soda rinses in addition to a no-poo. (i honestly don't ever get over conditioned hair, so i researched this.)

Waterlily716: @ryanri123 well, personally, i do both. this is because i have bad dry scalp though, so i tend to need to massage my head really thoroughly, but i don't use lathery shampoos so they wont do the trick! i also like to add my shampoo overtop of my cowash sometimes. it's really a matter of personal preference. :)

Kellie Pacanowski: How often do you co-wash? My hair is pretty similar to yours, just thicker.

Waterlily716: @domokonlovergirl i did a little more research. i found some naturallycurlydotcom threads, and they say that ingredient is water soluble and fine for CG. :) so no worries. basically it emulsifies or keeps together waters and oils so they don't separate in the bottle.

Izzy Chavez: do you only need one conditioner or do you need one for the scalp and one for the ends?

Waterlily716: @izzybella991 you can just use one silicone free conditioner, but it's cheaper to buy a separate one for the scalp because you will use a lot of it.

roberta62: i have been co washing for a while now with the same conditioner you use. i used a little shampoo to cleanse is that ok? also i wanted to ask when i did use a little shampoo like penny size my hair afterwards it feels like i have lather in my hair like build up. is it because i have been co washing? or is it because the conditioner doesn't work for me or maybe i am not co washing right?

Waterlily716: @4ever1122 Thank you :) I think modesty should always be important-- especially for women on the internet. Videos in bikinis... etc. usually attract the wrong kind of attention.

Waterlily716: @differentbeautifully Lol I'm glad I made this video then. :) I don't think your alone with the not detangling, but my hair is quite thick so I have to detangle.

Waterlily716: @tullisika no, conditioner washing wont make your hair curly. make sure to check out the wikiHow dot com page on the curly girl method for more information.

Waterlily716: @Projekt140 Cost wise I don't think it's more to use a cowash method. :) Here's why. I use a cheaper conditioner for cowashing (suave for two bucks) and a more expensive one to detangle (five to eight bucks). When you consider the fact that you no longer need to buy shampoo, it's about the same... HTH!

Projekt140: You use sooooo much conditioner! I can't imagine spending that much on conditioner. I'm trying cowashing this week just to see how it will change my curls, but I don't think I will be able to sustain it for a long period because of cost.

ali: for dry scalp, you pro wash .... explain pls :)

Waterlily716: @alvi18118 Do you mean co wash? I explain the co wash process in this video. :)

Waterlily716: @biracialcurls i do when i detangle! check out part 2 of this video.

Waterlily716: Hmmm I don't really understand your question? Shampoo and conditioner-washes do the same thing--they cleanse the scalp and the hair. Shampoo doesn't leave any build up behind for conditioner to remove...

Jackie Carroll: Thanks for the video! Was it weird showering in front of a camera? ahahaha

Waterlily716: @pammyglo1 Yup, I like that conditioner too :)

Waterlily716: Hey there. The suave conditioners do not contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate. I think you are confusing them with the suave SHAMPOOS.

Shveti: Could probably turn water off while doing the condition process. Just sayin :) Thank you for a wonderful tutorial though :)

Y Ii: Can I Co-Wash shampoo out of my hair? plz respond lol

Waterlily716: You have to work with the curls you have. No one really has perfect curls.

Waterlily716: @swell289 hahaha yes a little :) that's why i'm wearing a swim shirt. i got water all over the floor because the curtain was open hahaha :)

Waterlily716: @domokonlovergirl hmmm the emulsifying wax is a little worrying. i'm not sure if that is water soluble or not.

Waterlily716: @Shveti Yeah, I've tried taking navy showers, but I just get so cold You're welcome :)

Dadacomero: u can try, l have oily sculp and it worked

Y Ii: I'm sorry :P i meant Can i co-wash chlorine out of my hair..lol

Waterlily716: @dreamingmuse lol yes hahahah... that's why i wore a swim shirt. i got water all over the floor because the curtain was open. hahahah :)

MJ EAGLE: ma hair is curl but i want to make it perfect curl... so can u help me with this matter?

Waterlily716: No you need to use a sulfate free shampoo to get rid of chlorine

Nichelle Heller: I do this too am a CG.

Waterlily716: @domokonlovergirl yay! :)

Heidi Hardisson: have you tried wen ??????

Waterlily716: nope.

Waterlily716: every other day
