Hey loves!

Today I decided to switch up my twist out routine! I’ve been asked a few times by some of you to try a “stretched” style. So, I blow-dried my hair last night and did a twist out on it! What I achieved were soft, shiny, defined and elongated curls. If you’re looking to fight shrinkage and lengthen your hair, this is the right style for you! Here’s a step by step on how I achieved this look. Enjoy!

Hi everyone, its Aisha, both here and today, I'm gon na show you how I achieved this super soft and elongated twist out hi everyone, I'm back with another video tutorial and no my hair did not grow overnight. I actually did this to a subset. I'M blown out Harry. Yes, I blow dried, my hair, so my hair was straight for the most parts. I didn't use a flatiron or anything like that, but my hair was straight for the most part and I did a twist upset on it and that helped me to achieve these elongated, but still defined curls, which I am obsessed with. It was definitely processed. This is my first time ever doing this style. I'Ve been asked to do this style a few times, and I decided that it was time for me to take the lead, so I'm gon na show you how I do this from start to finish so from blow-drying. My hair, the proper blow-drying techniques, then twisting my hair and, of course, all the products that I'm using so that you can possibly do it for yourself. Aside from the fact that people asked me my comments to do a stretch twist out, I was inspired to do this because shrinkage is real. I know you've experienced it, I definitely experienced it we're we're out of the shower. Our hair is like still soaking wet and it looks long. It'S like touching your shoulders or it's hitting your jawline or it's by your ear, a little bit longer than it normally is, and then, as soon as it dries, whether you do a twist out a wash and go, it does shoot shoots right back up and it's Like oh so I wanted to do a style that would help to elongate our curls, while still keeping that definition and that softness that you know we loved - and I felt like this style would be perfect for that. It does take a little bit more time than a regular twist out, but if you're looking for an elongated, curl you're looking to lengthen your curls, this is definitely the go-to style for you. I'M not gon na take up too much more of your time. I'M gon na get right into this video, but before I do be sure to hit that subscribe button and that belt I constantly you know my next video goes live. Alright, let's get into it, hi everyone. I hear him after Co, washing my hair. So I did a quick collage using Mona's hair curl co-washing conditioner. If you saw one of my previous videos from I guess two weeks ago. You know that I am absolutely in love with this co-wash great slip so much moisture even after you wash it out. It'S amazing, so I definitely wanted to use it again and I've been actually using it since, since I first use it with that video. No because I genuinely love that product now, the next thing that I'm going to do before I start blow drying. My hair is act in some leave-in conditioner and I'm going to use this defining leave-in creamed by a lady and Chris, and this is a brand that I was recently introduced to it's a Scandinavian beauty brand and they just started or they just lost some curling products And they sent me over some to try and I really really do love this. It'S not too heavy, and the thing that makes it great for today's tutorial is that it actually has some heat, protecting properties and connect it in it. So it will help protect my hair from the heat, as I blow-dry it, and it's also great with reducing frizz from the humidity, but there isn't really much humidity right now, anyways, so I'm mainly using it for its heat, protective properties. So adding it to my hair. I'M only adding in a thin layer because, as I blow-dry my hair, I don't want it to be too way down. I don't know if you know when you blow-dry your hair and use like a super super heavy leave-in conditioner cream because sometimes make your hair to feel heavy and not as bouncy as I'd like it to be. So I'm hoping that this leave anthem does the job. So go through at this leave-in conditioner throughout the rest of my head and then I'll be back when I'm about to start blow drying. Okay! So now I'm gon na have all of the leave-in conditioner all throughout my hair. My hair is nice and moisturized and nourished. I'M gon na go in and blow dry my hair, so I actually have not blow-dried my hair in a really long time, but actually to a point. I think there was one time last summer where I got like really really really fed up with my hair, and I was like I just wan na blow dry, I'm gon na see and it was a disaster like I didn't. I didn't mess up my hair or anything, but I was just like freely just blowing it out and I didn't have any rhyme or reason to do it. I was home all weekend, so I ended up this morning in a bun, so this can be my first time actually going through and really blow-drying my hair and I'm gon na get to see some of what my actual length of hair is because, as you know, That the curls there's a lot of shrinkage, so I don't really get to see the actual length of my hair. So I'm like very curious to see what that's gon na be about I'm gon na take my time I have my blow dryer set to. I don't know if you're gon na be able to see it. I have my blow dryer set to cool, it's all down the bottom cool and then I'm probably gon na put it up to high cool, because I want to do it quick. I want to be here all day trying to blow dry my hair, because then I also have to twist after the fact, so I'm going to try to do a as possible what I'm going to use to blow dry is this blow dryer, obviously, and then I'm Going to use my Denman brush just to smooth my hair along the way so that there aren't any knots or tangles as I go through and blow-dry my hair and I'm gon na try to do it in smaller sections. Just so again, it's a lot smoother and the process is a lot more seamless, so I'm obviously not going to be doing much talking over when I go back, but my hair is slow across the strands as I go all the way down the hair shaft. That way, I'm making sure that every part is straight and dry. Here'S a view from the front recommend to be Jackson, entangle it get a good grip and then go in with my blow-dryer all the way down to the it section by section to make sure my hair dry and straight, I am done. My hair is completely blown out, I'm sure if I went through it with a flat iron that we could actually see the full full full length of it, but I'm not gon na go put the flat iron. I have not keeps out my hair with a flat iron in almost three years, so I'm trying to hold out until the special time or like a special time or when I really really I'm like ready, and I feel like I found someone or I feel confident Myself that I can do it and not damage my hair, but in the meantime this is as straight as I'm gon na go. So now that my hair is completely blown out. What I'm gon na do is I'm going to now start the twisting process, I'm going to do just regular two strand twists, I'm not going to make it super difficult and do any flat twists or you know, work your three strand twists or anything crazy. So I'm just going to go in and I'm going to make it a lot easier for myself and put everything into its own section Wow. This is so crazy and and honestly, I love the fact that my ends look really really good. I never trim my hair when it's straight. I only trim my hair when it's curly, so seeing that the ends are all still really really. Even it makes me so happy. I was honestly expecting that I was gon na pull my hair out. If you were gon na see like I don't know, it was gon na be crazy, like okay about just split ends or uneven and or something, but I I am an advocate for trimming your hair. While it's curly sure I really really want to limit the amount of heat styling that I do to my hair because I feel like that, so it helps to make it as healthy. As you know, we all what I hear to be so go through and do it's missing, it's so crazy doing a twist out on dry hair. So this is definitely going to be different. My ends aren't like super super super straight because again I was using the cool setting on my blow dryer if I was losing the really hot setting and I'm really like wet in there. I probably cut about my ends to be like very, very bone straight, but again, I'm really trying to minimize the chances of damage. So right now I'm going to go through my little a little piece over here. You know we was going to get this one twisted at first, it's like my little kitchen, but my kitchen has grown, which is very nice because this used to be the I'll brush. It broke my hair, all right. Let'S do this so go in, live and okay, so the styling product that I'm going to be using it's by natural Isha's. They sent me some products a while ago and I have used their co-op, which it wasn't a big huge fan of, but I want to try their styling products and see if I like these any better. So this is their moisture infusion, styling cream, which says it is also he protected well too late now, but I'm gon na go in this first and then after I go in with this, I'm also going to add in some of their divine shine and moisture luck. It fits like oil because, seeing as I blow dried, my hair, my hair is obviously a lot drier than it normally is. So what we want to do is we really want to lock in that moisture? So I'm going to kind of double up a little bit. So I'm going to add some of that product, so my fingers rolling around this is the cream and I'm going to go just add it to my hair, so yeah, I'm gon na. Add that to my hair make sure I get that ends as well. Some of this oil whoop - sorry Bert, hurry all right, so we get this oil in my hands all right. Well, maybe I put so much mix that you'll see so go and make sure I pull it very taut, pull it really tight. The goal is to make this a stretched, look so pulling it really tightly down and then just as I would any normal twist step, swirling the head around right, I'm gon na do it in smaller this cuz I wan na. I want this to be slightly defined. So I'm gon na try smaller, twisting see how that works. So I'm not gon na go as much part at this time, because I really don't my hair over it back get on the ends yeah and it a little too much my hand. Is that great all right, the spread of metro product? Oh my hair, that is not. That was a good idea, but whatever sometimes we make mistakes each time I go through them, I'm using actually less product than I did the time before, because I really don't want it to revert back. I spend way too much time blow-dried, my hair, for it to practically refer all the way back. So okay, this has to be probably the longest hair process that I've ever done on myself. I don't know I do this on a regular basis, like I have a friend who loves a very stretched twist out and more power to you make no wonder she like that she hates doing her hair and I'm like well. This is a really long process. I'M sure it's gon na come out really nicely. I'M excited to see the result, but I'm not gon na sugarcoat anything. This is a very long process. As you can see, I've twisted all my hair there. It seems to be pretty stretched for the most part. It'S a little bit longer than what I do. I don't watch the steps, but I think because of the fact that I flew my hair out, it's not going to shrink up as much once it's fully dry, so we'll see how that goes. And the last thing I'm going to do before I let it dry fully is nourish my scalp. If you know me, you know that I am so big on making sure that my scalp is nicely moisturized. It is the reason why my hair is growing at a rapid pace and it's also the reason why my strands are so healthy, but you take care of your scalp, then that just helps the hair that grows from it. So you have you cannot in styling your hair. You cannot forget to add a bit of oil to your scalp, whether that's Jamaican my castor oil or this oil, that I'm using from the brand made by mafia, which is a really nice blend of various products that help to not only restore moisture, retain moisture but Help your hair grow, so I'm just gon na add this scalp and then do a little scalp massage and then go about my business. I mean that was a long process get out, and then we hear right we're here, and I hope that this is a useful tutorial for someone out there hey. I made it through the night with my hair, I just let it dry. I was gon na. Take it out in the evening, but I decided to just let it fully fully fully dry and it's completely dry. I got that black light. As you can see, I slept with a bonnet on just to prevent any additional friends there's a little bit of frizz, but it's completely fine, so I'm gon na take it out and I'm really excited to see the results so far. It looks. It definitely looks more elongated today, then it does might do a regular twist out. I feel like when I do a regular twist out. The twists usually come up to us a little bit more and a little bit shorter these ones. I can feel them like kind of on my shoulders, so I'm very curious again to see how does that come out. So what I'm going to use to take it out is the Elena and Chris cure treatment oil. I'M gon na put this on my fingers to again prevent as much frizz as possible and so that it can look nice and shiny once I take it all out, so I'm just going to go through. First rub some oil on the strands just to wake. My hair up a little bit and now I'm gon na go through and I'm going to take these out of line. That'S my one! If you watch my other Trista, if you watch my other stuff videos, my hands are a little slippery. You know that when it comes to taking out twists, I always go really slowly with this process. Taking your time is the best way to not only that last frizz but make sure that you're getting at so I take them out slowly and then I just twist it in the opposite direction so that it comes out on its own and then from there. Just let it out and the definition looks really really nice, so I'm just going to go through take all of these out and then once I'm done, I'm going to separate it further okay, so I really like it. It looks really bouncy. So now I'm going to separate it even more, so I don't look like curvy soon, but so far so good. It'S definitely more elongated, of course, and very very nicely defined, and my hair is so tiny which I love. It just looks so shiny and so healthy. Okay, so I'm going to go and when it comes to separating this is kind of the tricky part. Sometimes so I like to go really slowly on this as well, so it's twist it in the opposite direction and let the curls gently separate on their own okay. So I separated all of my hair further and now it looks a little bit more realistic. I definitely noticed the length my hair is touching my shoulders pretty much towards the back, which is nice, because we were going for a style that really provided more length than your regular twist out. So the last thing that I'm going to do is I'm just going to go through and I'm just going to pick the roots just a little bit so that everything can kind of blend together and there isn't so much separation, especially in the back. I know that there's a really heavy part back there, so so go here. I'M going to put this in and then pick it from the root just a little bit and then stop do the same here. Just to add a little bit more volume. Do that on this side as well, and that in the back and then up here, because I want to cover the part and down the back of my head, so what I'm gon na do is make sure you can see. Well there you have it. In fact, as this tutorial and my final thoughts on this hairstyle, so I really love it. I think that it looks really really really cute and I love the length and the fact that it has a length to it and it still has some volume. It was really nice to me. My only gripe visit is the fact that it takes so long to do, and I think that one thing that I would want to change is to get even more length is to maybe maybe get a different brush, not using my Denman brush, but something that can Help me to really really get you know the ends to give it even more length, but take me a little while to decide to do that again. This style took a really long time. It took a few hours. However, if you're someone who's looking for more length, you experience a ton of shrinkage and you're just so over it, and you really want to show off your natural life. I think that this elongated twist out is definitely for you and I'm not knocking at all. I'M this lazy, so I really happy with the results. My only other concern is that I'm not sure if this'll last as long as a regular twist out I'll, have to see and I'll definitely report back. Just because of the fact that when you style your hair when it's wet and let it dry from completely wet hair that really locks in the style for a few days, so we'll see laughs. But I don't know it'll be a slob. But we'll see it's cute to see my hair, like. Oh, my on the back look going down my back. It'S really nice! I haven't had my a my hair outside when it's wet touch. You know, touch my shoulders in a long time, so that's definitely very exciting. Yeah, so I'm really happy. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. Let me know how you feel about this style. If it's something that you would do for yourself, I want to get everyone's feedback on this one. Aisha Beau: Hey loves! Enjoy! Follow Me! avis jean-jerome: This is why at 7 I relaxed your hair it was too much to deal with at the time. It look so beautiful and healthy now.....❤️proud Mama

Nani Taylor: I turned 31 a few weeks ago and randomly started feeling self conscious about my grey strands. Seeing them in your hair gave me a new appreciation for my own. They’re beautiful on you! Have a great one

Star E.: The hair, the skin, the features, the glow.... girl you are EVERYTHING!!

Daisy Flower: Bomb! I love doing my twistouts on stretched or blown out hair cause I live for the length and volume

The1NYCgirl: Beautiful! Love this!! Perfect timing for this video. I'm actually preparing to do the same style next week. I purchased the Revlon paddle brush blow dryer that many curlies here on YT have raved about; literally arrived from Ulta yesterday. I also bought a heat protectant (Kenra) that I'll also use after my leave-in prior to blow drying. I'm hopeful this blow dryer will speed the drying process. One thing that I've also enjoyed is braiding the first 1/4 or 1/3 of each twist and then 2-strand twisting the rest in order to eliminate puffy roots and achieve definition at the root. I'm hopeful my finished style comes out as amazing as yours.

StepLo: I'm glad I came across your video! The shrinkage on my hair is super real and I was always skeptical about doing a twist out because I knew my hair would be even shorter. I'm going to try this and hope it turns out well.

s c: I love your hair! I just took braids out, & missed my hair. I twisted my hair up without blowing it out first ,but Sunday is wash day! My aunt put a perm in my hair one weekend I visited when I was 8. I hated it,& didn't understand why she did. I had a perm for 10 yes after that, but when I turned 18 I was done. My family had there little words of discouragement, but I didn't care. They spent all day at a hair salon. 20 yrs later it has been the best decision of my life.

TVGLAMM: LOVE IT❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!! It’s definitely a long process but it comes out so nice. Since I live in Louisiana (horrible humidity) it doesn’t last; so, I opt for doing it on wet hair. If the weather wasn’t so disrespectful, I would love to do it on stretched hair.

Merigold K.: Love it ! Yes it is a long process but for the winter months its great so my roots aren't wet going to bed at night. I love how fluffy it makes my hair thought.

Toyshia Johnson: Beautiful...I started blowing mine out but I do a flat twist ...saves me so much time from 3 hours to 1 hour....I use warm to cool heat and comb through twice with the comb attached......my hair is BS length, super thick, high density, type 4

Rachel Hithon: this is so cute! i love it! thanks for the video! going to attempt it now ❤️

Serenity Begins: Hi Aisha...new subscriber here. Your hair came out beautiful...love it. I am a lazy natural but I always do a stretched twist out and it comes out just like yours. But, instead of blowdrying, I braid it in 6-8 t-shirt dried (damp) sections. While its air drying (about 2- 4 hrs) I do other things. If you're in a rush, sit under hood dryer for 30 mins and then twist. It saves some time.

Arnanda Schet: i love the results!❤️ how long did this style last ?

Ellie: the glow of your skin is another level. gorgeous.

Kellie W.: To cut down on time Id recommend using a comb attachment or paddle brush and blow drying on high. The way I see it, high heat dries the hair much quicker and whos to say using low heat for 2x the time is healthier than just using high. Just use a good heat protectant and make sure starting on damp not wet hair.

A Story of Africa: Your hair looks so good! Atleast we will go in knowing alot of time and energy will be needed. It turned out great

Fanita Smith: Beautiful results. I love it.

Famous Celebrity Talk: Your videos are the best. I am going to do this style today!

Alicia Rollins: Your hair came out great!! It has great shine, bouncy and its looks so healthy But whew chile, I don't know if I could do it. I'm lazy great job!!

24carrots: Such a great video, thank you!!

Nina Flowers: Hey Aisha, I think it came out nice, will try my version of it on my shorter natural, always looking for different ideas and then adapting them to my hair, so I like seeing new ways of styling from you. Take care and peace.

Ewurabena Brooks: You are so effortlessly beautiful

Claudia Maldonado: Very nice full head of healthy hair!!! Loved it!

Kearsten W: Hi I love this video! It seems very similar to the Anthony dickey method and I was wondering if you had ever checked his way of twisting dry hair. I'm learning so much and it's really fun so thanks for the content!

GG: My hair never stays twisted when I do twist outs (so I do bantu knots). Any tips for how to keep my hair from unraveling all the time?

Incandanto: great tutorial...keep up the good work...you are helping Me!

Joy Brunn: I’ve just come across this video so I have a late reply. Beautiful look! Question: after spending so much time on this look, do you just wear a bonnet at night for a few days or are you re-twisting before bed each evening?

Wanda Teresa: I am so in love with your hair, it's unbelievable. Your hair is so full and beautiful. Love it. Comes right after my own hair.

Gloria Talley: So pretty! I'm going to try it now that the weather here in Kentucky is much cooler. Your content is always excellent.

LV7095 LV: Your hair is amazing So healthy & Gorgeous

Hi. Goodbye: Hair looks beautiful and so do you May you please do a braidout on stretched blown out hair?

Sasha S.: Trying this out rn on green hair for college day out

Ettennej Syellod: I love this , really gorgeous.... suits you very well ☺

Jaliyah Williams: Do you remember how long this style lasted? I really want to give it a try

JayDee: great results, you look gorg <3

JadaChanel: i need my hair to be this thick and healthy

Karen Johnson: Your skin is glowing!! what do you use on your skin? I've been struggling with dry skin and nothing seems to work!! I'm just done!

Susan Kelembeck: Your hair looks great but have you tried stretching your regular twists check natural 85 she does it really well and is very heat averse. Thanks for sharing defo gona try this method x

Chloé-Ana Braidy: So GORGEOUSSSS! your quality is amazing!! What equipment do you use? Your lighting is perfect too

Elle Cox: Just beautiful results - I love your hair, it’s so luscious and robust! Where did u get those clips to section off ur hair and that towel?!

Brittany Ferguson: Beautiful results! But I’ll stick to my wash and gos. I’m way too lazy for all of this aha

PlayaPleathe: You are beautiful! I can see you in Vogue, Essence, Ebony, or Cosmo magazine posing with your hair blown out just like that

Sarah Opoku: Do you have to keep it in overnight? How long does it last?

Bfit6: A Whooooole lotta hair Love it!

Kathleen Harris: Gorgeous hair! What blow dryer did you use?

dee slaton: Super cute twistout

Diane Walcott: Try using a paddle brush it will help

Larry Lampkin: Hi hun , what’s the name of that purple cloth towel u used to dry ur hair ?

Lightbulb Pineals: You are super beautiful! Incredible! Get married and have a baby asap! We need more beautiful people in the world.

Shayanne Smith: Nah, this won’t last the second day. It will be puffy in 3 hours. 4c type hairs requires to be damp in water to make the style last at least 5 days. The secret is to style the hair damp then use a electric fun or a blow dryer with a cap and then only then stretch the hair when is almost totally dry.

Rose: What blow dryer are you using?

Tam Tamz: How do you sleep on this? How long does it last?

Ellie: You look just like a melinated cobie smulders <3

MsYentl1: Hey...you'd probably get  more length if you were to stretch each twist or groups of twists from one side to the other side of your head..

Anna Dibba: we should be talking about your skin-without makeup

Sarah Rice: Your hair is pretty blown out

Donnetta Daniels: Perhaps you can do a video of your favorite hair products

StopProtestingForDisrespectfulBlackMen: Something about her at beginning reminds me of Bree from Junes Diary. I think her bone structure

AbyousoCrazy: Twist are juicy baybeeeee

7joursd'amour: Girl, them comb and hairdryer technique is stressful and so time consuming, that's the reason why I'm gonna buy me and my sisters this Christmas the Revlon one step blow dry brush. It has different temperatures and it's so easy to use. Some people blow-dry their hair in 15 and some in 20 minutes. But the results are so amazing. I hope I've helped you in any shape or form.❤️❤️ (and no it won't give you heat damage)

Rambling Rue: You're beautiful

Melody Anosike: You look like Gugu Mbatha-raw

Nadine Umutesi: Try to make your video short

The Truth: You talk way too much just get on with the hairstyle no one have all day

Jo: Talks too much. Otherwise good video
