#bobhaircut #haircutting #diyhair

Hi everyone today, I'm going to show you how I took my hair from the left to the right. I gave myself a bob haircut, a blunt Bob and I'm absolutely loving it. If you can see on the left, I really hated my hair. Look at those dry ends: let's get rid of those. The first thing you're going to need is a comb, something that has a wide and a fine-tooth comb. You'Re gon na need a cape. I will list everything down below you're, going to need a water spritzer, some duckbill or crocodile clips, and definitely get some really sharp shears get the sharpest you can get. Mine are casho, they are five inch. You'Re gon na need a mirror and I would recommend that you sit in between two large mirrors, so you can see the back. So the first thing I do is I reach for hair story, hair balm. This is sort of what I use like a cutting lotion. I use this in the salon every time I do clients - and I run it throughout my hair, because I need it to kind of help mold the hair as I'm cutting it. I always like to prep the hair with something before I start cutting make sure that it is completely saturated that hair is nice and damp. It'S not soaking wet and you want to start combing it through using the wide tooth part of your comb. Once you have everything combed out now, we want to find your parting we're going to do a middle part, because we want to make sure that it is going to be even on both sides, so my parting is a little bit off center. The way you find your parting is you brush it all the way back and then you push it forward, but for mine I wanted to make sure that I get the best center. So I just manipulated The Parting myself because it was a little bit too off center for my taste so make sure you comb everything out we're still using the wide tooth comb part of the comb. So this is called the Apex. The part where the part of the head rounds is called the Apex kind of like where the comb would naturally sit or sit. You want to start sectioning right there from the top of the head to the top of the ear, basically a t section, and then you want to section away the front part of your hair from the back make sure it is nice, nice and clean, get the Cleanest section you can get, this is not going to be an easy haircut. I am warning you guys. It took me years to figure out how to do a proper Bob, so kudos to you if you're gon na do this by yourself, but I do recommend you have someone there to help you. So you want to do the same thing on the right hand, side and just make sure it is as symmetrical as humanly possible. Now I'm just twisting away the front. You can also clip them away because they're actually going to start drying, so you might want to just clip them away now. I'M thinking that this is kind of where I want to go for my length that you'll see later that I will end up making it a little bit longer, because I couldn't really see the back very well. But I'm kind of thinking like middle of the neck. For the length, so the first thing you want to do is section off the top. So it's going to be kind of like from your temple, to Temple just section that whole area away, and then you want to section away the nape of the neck. Just make a straight of a line as you can again, if you have someone helping you please reach for that person, because this is going to be a difficult haircut to do this isn't just a trim. This is a full haircut. You want to make sure that the hair is completely saturated with water and just keep combing, and then you can start cutting just start right in the middle part of that hair. So you don't want to start on the right side or on the left side start in the middle and then connect the lines. I can see the hair in my mirror in the monitor, but if you are sitting on the floor, make sure you have two large mirrors and you just want to line up the lines. That'S all you have to do, take about inch sections and start cutting so that neck hair, I'm going to shave later so stay tuned to the very end, to show you how I do that now, I'm turning towards the right hand, side and I'm lining up the Lines and keeping it straight make sure your wrist is straight, make sure you're holding the scissors, nice and comfortable, and now I'm measuring the two sides as much as I can. You can usually tell when something is off you just kind of pull it and you pinch the ends and if you feel like one side is a little bit longer go in and just snip it just like I'm doing here now we are moving on to the Next section, so a lot of times we have a lot of hair in the back, even if we have fine thin hair in the back, we tend to have the largest density Spritz, your hair with water, make sure it's completely saturated with water. It'S nice and damp come come as much as you can keep combing, and now we are going to line up the uh, the first cut with this second one. Now you want to grab the middle part a vertical section and just start cutting straight, and you want to keep this section A little bit longer than your first cut, because if you cut everything at the same length, it's just going to poof out. So we want to leave it about a few millimeters longer. You can see here that I left it a little bit too long, just because I really couldn't see, and it was uh it was. It was a difficult cut to do, but it's okay, because it feels like I have a little bit of an undercut in the back. So now I'm just lining everything up but notice that I am taking sections that are vertical and I'm taking my time doing this and you want to keep combing and you want to hold the hair in between your two fingers. You, but you have to know which hand is your dominant hand, so my dominant hand is the right and the left is what I use for tension and to hold the hair. Now you want to Spritz and keep moving any hair that sticks out just cut it straight across horizontally. Now, when I mentioned that you need to do vertical sections, what I'm really saying is that you need to section each part into two or three sections, so the nape of the neck usually is about three sections and then, as you move up the curve of the Head you're going to be doing four sections and on and on so everything needs to be sectioned out as clean as possible. So you can get the cleanest haircut, it's okay, to leave the hair a little bit longer, especially if you have some type of a wave in your hair, because your hair will bounce up so see that corner right there. I had to cut that off because it was starting to look more of like an angled bob, and that was not the look I was looking going for. I really wanted to be blunt saturate, the next section and keep doing the same thing. Comb comb comb start in the middle, and now we are lining up. You can see now that I was able to line up this part of the hair with the previous section, but the first section was way too short. In my opinion, I shouldn't have gone that short, but it's all good because I can take it shorter, so just cut straight across make sure that your scissors are straight. It'S very easy to make your scissors kind of go downwards or upwards. So just take your time making sure that your scissors and your wrists are all straight. Your fingers are straight so we're starting in the middle go to the right and then we're moving to the left. Everyone'S head shape is different, so take whatever sections feel comfortable for you so see that little section there in the in the front, you just want to cut that straight off now we're at the top. So generally. This is the part where we have our layers and we're not going to have a lot of hair here. So I have a lot of layers here. The hair is much finer, it's much much thinner, so I can actually see the line there. It'S much much more visible, it's much easier to cut, keep combing and you want to hold your hair with a lot of tension and pull down on it and again, if you have any wave or curl in your hair, you want to leave a little bit extra Length so do the same thing on this side curve, the hair towards the front. From behind your ear and cut a straight line. You can see the guide from underneath. So that's the trick. You want to be able to see the hair from underneath, and then you just line it up so see right there you can see where the hair is just kind of sticking out and you just cut it now. I just had to measure both sides and they felt fine. We take out the clips comb everything together and now we are moving into the front. This is the part that is the most important, but it's usually like the lightest part of our hair, see I'm cutting a straight line that is lining up with the part that is right behind my ear. Now, whenever you do this, you have to make sure that you are combing all of the hair forward at a zero degree angle, so literally just straight to the floor to make sure that your lines are all clean and you have to make sure you get all Of the hair from behind the ear, because it's very easy to leave kind of a hole there or just like leave some hair that hasn't been combed. So just comb as much as you can. If you have more hair the more hair you have the the higher density you have, the more you should be doing this, so this is refining the hair. I always go back and double check. Double check. Triple check quadruple check, make sure that all of the sections feel relatively normal, we're going to dry it in a second and we are going to double check again because hair moves very differently when it's dry, then, when it's wet, when it's wet it just clumps together And then, when it's dry, you have to double check. I like doing this. For myself and for my clients I like to push the hair behind the ear and see how it feels if it feels good it feels like it's even on both sides. Then I think I have a relatively good haircut now we're going to go into my bangs we're going to give my bangs a little trim. Take the middle section just like this, take one section from the left and the right and lift it up straight lots of tension in between your fingers and whatever hair is sticking out. You just snip it off. You just take it at like 90 degrees from the head. Now, I'm taking a triangle usually from one arch of the brow to the other arch of the brow, using the fine-tooth part of your home and snip it off, and that's it. That just gives you kind of like a trim All right so now for drying. I am using my gamma Pro hair dryer. Everybody asked me what this hair dryer is. It is Italian, it is amazing, I think it retails. For about 600, I'm using my paddle brush from Moroccan oil, literally the best paddle brush in the world. It detangles it's so easy on the scalp. I just use it on everyone and, if I ever lose it, I will get another one for sure. So the way I like to blow dry, the hair is always back and forth. You want to section out the top Temple to Temple, so that's like kind of like your horseshoe section from the back, the back part you want to just flip it back and forth. Just like you saw and then over here in the front. I always like to push the hair a little bit behind my ear and blow dry it down like this smooth it down. I like to tuck it behind my ear, because I like that little kick that happens with a French Bob and I always separate the top from the bottom, so see how this is, how I'm doing this right here you want to kind of flip the the brush. So that you smooth out the hair as you're blow drying it and you're trying to create as much volume on the top as possible, this is called Flat wrapping where you move the hair from left to right to create as much volume as possible. Once you bring both sections together, you want to smooth them out together, because the most important part of this haircut is the front. You want the front to look blunt and sleek and beautiful, so I'm focusing a lot on that blunt Edge in the front because you saw you saw in the beginning of the video how how cute it looked. So again we are going back into the front and double checking those hairs, making sure that there are no corners, but I am seeing a little bit of a corner right here. So normally, whenever we cut hair, we tend to leave that little bit a little bit like moving downwards. So it looks more of like an angle Bob. We don't want to do that. We want to stay away from that as far as possible. So if there's a corner, you got ta cut it off. That is what makes this blunt Bob so sleek and Chic, and cute and PC I'm holding the hair in between with lot of tension in between two fingers at a time and just taking off any hairs that are not that are just sticking out. So hair behaves very differently when it's dry, so I have to check the back too, because we want to make sure there's nothing. That'S sticking out. You know it's not when it's wet it just all clumps together, but when it's dry it kind of it can poof out, it can just act very differently and everyone's hair is very different. My hair is generally soft. I'M obsessed with taking off all of these little pieces to give myself the bluntest Bob possible so that I can get that nicely. Look right in the middle of the neck, and now I'm just freehanding it just kind of taking out anything that needs to be done, and I just saw this little quarter there you go, take it off, taking it all off and making sure it looks cute fluff. It up and ah yeah there. It is beautiful again just pinching the ends, making sure that they are even now we are shaving the neck using a razor. This is my Castro guarded razor. The brand is called Castro. It is professional. You can get a guarded razor on Amazon, I'll link it below or at your local beauty. Supply store now, grab your flat iron and start doing just waves on the bottom. You don't want to curl the hair at the bottom. You want to start curling the hair above your ears, so everything down from the occipital bone needs to just be kind of like bent a little bit, not a full curl, and you want to just pull the ends down and straighten the ends. That'S how you get that PC look curl it out and piece out the ends, curl it out away from the face in vertical sections and make sure that the ends are straight in PC. Doing the same thing as we move along the tip the top of the head around the crown I like to push the hair back, my hair generally likes to push itself forward, so I want to push it back as much as possible, so I can give it As much volume as possible, so I have a very little hair at the top. So it's only basically four sections and we are going to be doing the same thing just curl away from the hair. I am using only 300 degrees because I have fine hair and I just want it to bend. If you go any hotter, it's going to give you very tight ringlets, and I don't want to do that. I want just a little beachy wave now. You can see the pieciness coming through. I love that little kick in the front and the way that this cut Contours the face is phenomenal. If you want volume at the top, you just pinch the top, you can add um just a little bit of dry shampoo on the ends. You got ta use a little bit more hair bomb, so this is the same stuff that we used when I started cutting the hair as a cutting lotion, it's kind of an all-in-one you want to push it into the hair. Take a couple drops push them into the hair and massage it into the hair. Don'T rake your hair too much or else you're going to lose that beautiful PC shape that we love that beachy California lived in. Look, you want to pinch the hair at the bottom with a little bit of hair balm and let the hair just kind of sit and it adds shine as a beautiful pieciness. Both sides are even I am totally feeling myself. You don't have to do this with a curtain bank, but you can. If you want to, this, is the back. I think it's a little too long. I might actually just go, get it fixed or cut it again. I probably will go back to my hairdressers to heal and get him to just even everything out for me, but if you're at home and you're in a pinch - and you just want to do this - I hope you guys will do it and let me know in The comments, if it helped you, let me know, if you did it and I'll see you in the next video. Thank you so much for watching bye, guys, foreign
