Foreign, hey guys, welcome back to another video, so today I'm going to be sharing with you how I steam my hair, basically the benefits of steaming for both your hair and your scalp. So right now I'm just refilling my water tank with distilled water because it was pretty much empty and this system only accepts distilled water, so distilled water is probably the best water you can use for your system because there's no contaminants in the water and the system Will last longer and perform better, so here are the buttons and I always use it on the full wattage amount so 600, and here is the timer and the steamer shuts off when it's done. Okay, so I just finished shampooing my hair using the shea moisture, Manuka honey and referral oil. Intensive hydration shampoo. This stuff is Bomb super creamy and, of course, I'm gon na follow up in deep condition using the Intensive hydration hair mask this stuff. You guys is amazing for in the fall or the winter months, it is a thick moisture mask super thick. It'S not even running out it just really hydrates and softens my hair. It also helps to hydrate my new growth as well. So this is what I'm going to be using for today. So I like to put my conditioners into a separate container. That way my hand is not digging into the Container itself that way it doesn't lose its potency and Effectiveness. So I'm going to apply this in sections of course, just making sure that I hit my new growth and my ends. Thank you, and you guys know, usually when I deep condition I like to add oils into my deep conditioner, especially if there aren't any oils in the ingredients itself, but with this deep conditioner there are some oils already in the ingredients. So I don't bother add any because there's just no point, I want to say in this mask: there's coconut oil, avocado oil, referral oil and some Butters as well, so to add more oils into the mix would be a little bit extra and it would definitely weigh My hair down so I've been using this hair mask since 2015, or so that's when I first introduced it into my hair regimen and I love it. It'S been with me since then, and I typically like to reach for this, usually in the fall and winter months because of the consistency of this mask. It'S super rich. It'S thick, it's creamy. It leaves my hair feeling really soft fluffy moisturized yet strong. At the same time - and it tackles my new growth, so it really softens it, it makes it more manageable, so I can stretch my relaxers a tad bit longer foreign. Let me know in the comments Down Below, have you guys used the deep conditioner? What are your thoughts on it? Is it a staple for you? What do you love about it and if you have tried it and you don't like it, let me know as well I'd love to hear your thoughts. I think this is something that most relaxed. Ladies would love in their hair because it gives you a mixture of both moisture and strength at the same time, and it really helps to get your new growth under control if you are stretching your relaxer, so you guys, let me know down below so as you Guys can see, I leave no area untouched. I like to apply my deep conditioners or my hair masks in sections. That way, no area is neglected and I like to focus on you know getting the conditioner all the way down to my ends and obviously focusing on areas that typically aren't really. You know within reach. So, like my nape area edges behind my ears, that area tends to get neglected. So that's usually what I like to do and when I steam you guys, I don't use a plastic cap. I always just let the steam itself penetrate onto my hair. So I keep it up with a hair clip that way the steam can get into my scalp and on my ends, alright, so we're ready to steam, I'm going to turn on the steamer set it for 30 minutes. Of course I have my water bottle and my towel because it gets hot and we are ready to steam. Steaming is probably one of my favorite things to do when it comes to Hair Care, especially in the fall and winter months. Um. Usually I like to increase it a little bit more during this time frame. So typically, I would steam monthly, but usually anywhere from about October till April, or so I like to steam on a bi-weekly basis, because during these months you guys it is cold and the air is cold. It'S dry and your hair can tend to feel a little bit more brittle as well. So steaming really helps to just rehydrate your hair that moist steam. It really helps to penetrate into your scalp, so it really takes care of dry scalp as well, and I just love the way my hair feels afterwards. So during the steaming process, the warm Vapors really helped to open up the hair cuticles and allow deeper penetration of your deep conditioner. I don't know what it is, but for me I feel, like my deep conditioners, work like 10 times better when I steam um. I love my hooded dryers as well, but steaming is just a little different. You know it just hits different um, so usually it just feels much better and obviously it increases elasticity and we all know that hydration equals less breakage, which means healthier, hair and length retention. All right so say, for example, you don't have a hair steamer, don't worry, I got you, there is a DIY that you could do so you would apply the conditioner as you normally would get a towel wet it with hot water, wrap it around your hair cover With a plastic cap or a shopping bag of some sort and then sit under your hooded dryer for about 25 to 30 minutes and you're good to go, so I'm done steaming and I'm gon na go rinse. So I figured I'd, give you guys some winter hair care tips, because a few of you have asked me about that. So why not um? So of course winter is coming. You always want to increase your deep conditioning sessions so instead of going 20 minutes or so go a bit longer put that moisture back in your strands. Girl, okay, for number, two, I would say, is scalp care. Keep your scalp, nice and lubricated. Obviously, with an oil. Keep that blood flow, so you want to massage your scalp as well. You want to prevent dryness, so keeping that routine is important, get a satin lined winter hat. That is something that I'm definitely going to invest into this winter. That way, you're preventing your ends from drying out hide your ends. Girl hide your ends. Safe and effective. Protective styling is always necessary to lock in that moisture and bring out the heavier treatments. So your cholesterols, your hair, masks your pomades, your hair Butters. All of that good stuff, so hopefully those tips will help. Of course. Thank you guys so much for watching be sure to comment like And subscribe and I'll see you guys in the next video mwah bye,

Aderinsola Abiodun.: You saved my hair!! I literally just went back to relaxers on Thursday (self relaxed) and used pretty much all the tips you’ve given in so many of your videos, I only “lost” 2 strands of hair (right from the root) throughout the entire process. I can’t thank you enough for all the knowledge you consistently share. I’m currently at mid back length, pushing for waist length by December/January Oh and that deep conditioner is the truth! My natural hair and newly relaxed hair love it!

Twanna Hill: I have tried many, many conditioners over the years. To date, I have found not one that outperforms KeraCare Humecto. In the past, I have not had success with any of the Shea Moisture products I have tried. Nevertheless, I may try this one. Your hair is looking healthier than ever! Thanks for posting.

Sophia Harris: I’ve been self relaxed for over a year now. And my hair has never thrived so so much. I follow each and everyone of your steps. My hair is the longest it has ever been and it’s all thanks to our assistance. You’re the best at what you do. Thank you for all the tips that actually work. Thank you for your openness! ❤️

Tanya S: After viewing this, will definitely add a steamer to my holiday list this year. Your hair is beautiful as always

Enicka Smith: Val, it's Sunday. Thank you so much for this video. Off the bat learning to use distilled water instead of regular water, I didn't know that. I needed better understanding of steaming and you DELIVERED. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm on my longest stretch ever. I've had three surgeries in the last four months. My hair is suffering since I can't do a lot. Once I can walk again it's definitely a priority. I did invest in a hooded steamer like yours. Thanks again. God bless you. If I were still stationed up north I would definitely want to meet you. All the way from Fort Hood, TX thanks

Forever Newlywed: Thanks for another great video Val! This was so helpful. I've never heard about the benefits of steaming hair. I'll be trying my new steamer tomorrow! My question is, in these cold months, should I steam once per week or once every two weeks? Also, is steaming necessary once it gets warmer? Thanks!

Chas Mats: I got a steamer because of you Thanks it’s helping my hair so much. If i tell you I used to have so much breakage but now i only get a few strands like literally I can’t believe it Only struggle now is getting my edges back(broke off because of braids). I am never doing them again

0tismadaline: I can't miss this amazing wash day routine, am here for my sweetheart notification gangs

Sandra E: Great video and Happy Sunday Val! Shea moisture unfortunately is a no go for me. For some reason it makes my hair shed. That is why Kera Care Humecto line is my forever choice. I must say that steaming hair definitely combats dryness and breakage which is a big game changer for me. In the warmer seasons I deep condition with steam once a month, and during the winter months I steam condition every other week. Your knowledge and helpful tips are much appreciated.

Ashley: Thank you for the DIY steaming. My budget will not let me be great so I have to put the steamer on the back burner. I’m really trying to get a routine together for my relaxed hair but I seemed to get overwhelmed with all the different products and wash day processes. I’ve decided to get a journal to track what I’m doing and what products I use (based on your guidance). I’ll keep watching and hopefully will be able to get a routine that works!

J Renee: My hair is 1/3 inch long and I’m growing it from bald to eventually have locs. I have barely have hair to steam but im watching this video anyway ❤

oyewole folashade: I have a question please. Does shedding sometime indicate ‘ it’s time for a touch up’ ? I’m 13 weeks post relaxer and my hair is shedding like crazy. And when doing a protein treatment to reduce shedding, can you apply it to the scalp? Thanks so much

African Queen: I do use the shea manuka honey intensive hydration masque during the winter months. My hair loves it. Stay Bless. Canada

Saywhatyoumean001: Your hair looks so healthy ❤

Gracie Anduze: I use the Shea Moisture Mongongo & Jojoba Oil High Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque and Shampoo and still insert the 3 PO's into the masque which I adore thanks to you... keeps my hair nicely hydrated. Wonderful content, thanks for sharing I've learned so much from you.

Kalisha J: I have yet to try this conditioner but I've never heard a bad thing about it so I really need to pick it up. I'm in Florida, it's 10am right now and already 80 degrees so it will be a while before we get to winter, lol. Great video

Hello it’s me D: First off I want to say thank you for your videos. Your channel is my hair gospel and I try to follow everything you do. My natural hair type is like yours (type 4). My main issue I have is that my hair is constantly falling out when I wash it or comb it. Like the way your rubbing the conditioner in your hair with your hands…. I would have had clumps of hair in my hands coming out my head. But my hair remains considerably thick, almost like yours. What do you think the issue is? And how do you think I can I fix it?

Esther Dennis: Thank you for giving us a DIY option✅ I was already thinking of which salon to visit within my area

Tatiana Monteiro: I have been using the apoghee protein treatment before shampooing. Would you recommend this shea moisture DC instead? Thank you for the tips honey :)

Brittany Jackson: It's a staple for me! I mix it with the KeraCare Humecto conditioner. Those 2 combos make my new growth very soft and the HYDRATION!!!

Rachel Hebert: Never tried the shampoo but the deep conditioner is so awesome makes my hair soft

Michelle Rodgers: I use my Conair clothes steamer multiple times a week on my face and hair. Amazing product.

QueenLizzie: I bought 5 Manuka masks when they were on sale a while ago. It's my go to when I was transitiong from relaxed hair. My relaxed and natural hair loves this mask.

RemiBeauty87: Hey Val! After you rinsed the deep conditioner out. Did you use any products before blow drying? Like a leave in, oil, or cream?

Ulanie Wilson: Great video sis. I heart steaming. I've been steaming my hair biweekly as well.

Vanessa: Is this a moisturising conditioner or does it contain protein? Im trying it this week!

HrhSophia TheFirst: I only steam after a protein treatment using Design Essential moisture mask without a cover. I do add some oils as well with peppermint and rosemary which gives my hair a great scent for the two weeks between washes. Even with working out everyday the scent is delicious! I relax only twice a year at the salon and wash there as well. I just washed myself this weekend as I caught COVID so no visits and thanks to your suggestions it was not as bad even with my hair now mid-back. Thanks so much Val for all your tricks and tips!

Debra Smith: I loveee when my hair has a steam treatments been getting them for 15 years

Cassy's HairCare: Yessss steaming is great for the hair. Ohhhh I use this shea moisture conditioner ALL THE TIME . The Shea moisture manuka honey LEAVE-IN is NEW and I EXTREMELY LOVE IT ❤️ too.

Tifeoluwani: I've tried this deep conditioner and I didn't like the result at all It felt like I didn't use anything on my hair at all but I will give it another try this weekend to see how it goes.

PanicSwitches: I wanted to relax my hair to loosen my curls but I left it in for too long in a few places. Can I perm the spots that are too straight?

D: I have learned so much from you this time a year protective style is my best friend keep up the good work

Kships: Love your hair texture ❣️

mounia usa: Thanks for the video .A good reminder to use my steamer .haven't used it for months .

Michelle Letts: Can this deep conditioner be used after every wash.Currently my routine is to do a protein treatment before creaming then a bond treatment after creaming. I also do a moisture treatment after every wash

XoSiedahXo: I love your channel. You inspired me to start my own YouTube channel ❤

Cusp_Of_Magic: Today was also my wash day. I enjoyed this video...wish it was longer, but this is still enough

The sky is falling Babylon is falling!: You’re the reason I invested in a steamer and hair dryer (same as yours) (steamer from the same company) best thing I’ve ever done.

D: I have learned so much from you this time a year protective style is my best friend keep up the good work

fruitypebs23: This deep conditioner was a complete fail for me. It's super thick. I couldn't detangle with it. It was very heavy on my hair, it left a coating, and my strands felt parched. ☹️

J J: hi gorgeous. need your opinion, please?. its been a month now since i went back to relaxer journey a month. i would say i got a " good " relaxer for my virgin hair but after i finished the entire relaxer process, the ends of my hair are curled up at the ends and some are straight...my next relaxer should i put relaxer on every strand again or just do a touch up ?

0tismadaline: I use vatika deep conditioner and it has oil in that too soo l Don't add oils to it and also l have not tried this product yet, will try it out soon

Tracey Lennon: I use those products!! (Shea Moisture Manuka Honey Shampoo and Deep conditioner)

mchep91: I found this conditioner to not do much to my hair but following your tips

sarah mba: I needed this video

Ruth Godbless: I love this video Does the product help in strengthening your hair bcos I have a soft hair

Zee Xoxo: I use a plastic cap, to not mess up the steamer. But other than that, we pretty much do the same thing :) I poke a few small holes in the plastic cap.

Michelle Amp: Where did you get your water bottle from?

Michelle Howell: Love your hair !!! Whats the name of that steamer ?

keysha thompson: I love that hair mask.

DivaintheDetails: I really like the Shea Moisture Yogurt Hydrate and Repair with Protein hair mask with the light blue label and gold top...I'll need to try this one

Tracey Lennon: Love your French manicure!!

Ossie R: Doesn’t our hair get steam from the shower? Why the additional steaming?

Baby Jane : You have lovely hair However why do you have it so flat on top? It would suit your face shape much better if you had a little hieght on top by adding layers into your hair as it currently drags your face down Is it that having long length is what matters, not having a great hairstyle? The flat top just emphasises your forehead

Hubaida Musah Gariba: Hello so have u stopped using Aussie avocado conditioner?

Sass: Did you cut your hair? Do you feel like your hair has stayed at the same length now ?

Comb Hair With Nadine: I like before I watch! Lol ❤

YepThatsDee: You favor yung Miami soooo much to me!

HAJIYA OLUSESI OKOYE HAJIYA: i have this hair steamer but i don't stay too long in it like u

Tracey Lennon: Your hair is very thick..I'm just realizing your hair routine might not necessarily work for my fine mildly relaxed hair..

Mercy Ndumati: I thought leave in conditioners are not to be e in washed out after application? You did the opposite

Martha Chiringa: First to be here
