#naturalhair #kandidkinks #12daysofchristmas

Hey guys welcome back to my channel, it's Lexie and today is a day that I never thought was gon na come. It is day 12 of king smith's. It is Christmas Day Merry Christmas to those of you guys that celebrate Christmas, it is the day that I have been personally waiting for, because recording editing posting promoting 12 videos for the past 12 days has been a mental, physical and emotional challenge that I did not Expect, but I actually made it like, we are actually here like it's amazing it. I can't believe it before you ask. I did my hair myself, it's kind of like bootleg. I didn't really record it. I didn't want to like do a disservice to you guys and to myself. It'S really like not even tight. I did like two days ago, but it's good enough for me. This and my hair may or may not be a part of my merch long will see. I have some really cool things that I think that you guys are going to love. Come 2020. Okay, stay tuned before you ask these earrings are from Tony daily.com. I'Ve had them for a long time. I don't know if she still has them on her site. This lip color is a bunch of like plum lip colors and mixed together with some gloss. I can't even give you like a real, definitive answer. Sorry, but Merry Christmas, if you're watching this on Christmas Day, and can you believe that we made it, we made it to Christmas Day, Merry Christmas to me and Merry Christmas to you guys, so I don't want to keep you here for too long, I'm tired! So, let's get into the topic at hand this video was requested. I was in a video like this similar to this, so I will link it in the cards above my head, but this video is going to be winter haircare for lazy, Naturals winter haircare people like me. If I lived in a wintry climate, what I'll be doing to maintain healthy hair and maintain healthy hair so first and foremost gives you a good moisturizing. Shampoo, okay, moisturizing shampoo, is very useful because you really don't want to be drying out your hair when your hair already is dry. When your hair already is struggling, you don't want to apply a stripping. Super super super drying, clarifying shampoo to your hair. You do need to clarify your hair throughout the winter, but if you are struggling, get you a moisturizing shampoo, it will do its job. You can clarify like twice in the winter, but like use a nice moisturizing shampoo to get you through the winter. If that makes sense, main choice has some really good moisturizing shampoos, and I also recently try design essentials. Shampoo, the almond avocado shampoo, is really moisturizing. Natural Club has a really moisturizing shampoo, kinky tresses has a really moisturizing shampoo, get yourself a nice moisturizing shampoo tip number one to avoid all of the hoopla of putting on a clarifying stripping shampoo on top of dry stripped hair like it's gon na, be all of This gon na be happening. If we do that understand, the next tip I have is don't skip deep conditioning, like I say it all the time on many different videos on this channel, I'm gon na say it again, don't skip deep conditioning, got it got it got it. Okay, don't skip it. Why like, why would you want to skip that if you're having dry hair problems, if it's the wintertime where you live, if it's really cold and disgustingly brittle, don't skip deep conditioned, I'm said again, don't skip deep conditioning, I would say: do it every single week, okay, Before winter starts, I mean now we're in the winter time, so I really am a little bit late with this video. It was requested a little bit ago because I'm trash I'm a bit late, but ideally before, but you can do it during trim those ends. Okay, having split ends during the winter having split ends during any time of year is trash but like during the winter time you need TLC. Having trimmed ends will really help your hair, be healthy. Absorb moisture be easier to detangle easier to manage if your hair is in a bad way and then it's cold outside in your hair, then even worse, of a bad way. Like you get it, I know you do so trim those ends. I always say that all the time - and it really is imperative. The next tip I have is I'm someone that I live in Miami, so I don't really have a place in this conversation, but I'm someone that likes to put on beanies. If the temperature drops a little bit, I have a beanie on my head. I love me a good beanie and I'm not good at this, but if you live in the winter and your winter, climate and you're always wearing hats, you need to have some sort of protection between that hat and your hair. So when I say that I mean like have a satin scarf have a bonnet between your hair and the hat, or you could also get one of those like really fancy satin lined caps and call it a day if you have the budget for it. They'Re. Definitely very popular people tend to love them, so I'm sure they're, just fine. I'Ve never tried them before. So I can't really recommend them, but it seems pretty simple and self-explanatory. You know what I mean, because we do know that the fibers and the materials in those hats can be very stripping and the friction from the material of the hats can aid in breakage with your hair. That'S on me all the time that I'm doing all the things - that's not working for me. So if you are one of those people that has that problem, I would take money through conditioning treatments, a step further and add heat or add steam. I like to do both depending on the day but adding heat and/or steam on different occasions, and it does help your hair reap the benefits of the product, even more so because of the heat it'll open up your pores in your hair strand, so open them up And it'll let that product seep into the strand even deeper, especially if you are low porosity. I will leave a video linked on porosity in the cards in case anyone is still kind of confused on what porosity is and how it affects your hair. Health oil is something that I actually really really like, even though I live in a hot climate, oil can really help seal in that moisture to the strands. You don't have to do this step, but if you are struggling, if your hair is dry and brittle, add an oil to your routine. So I add an oil after I rinse out my conditioner, I seal in that moisture and then I apply my stylers and my leave and I go from there. Some people choose to rinse out style with butters and creams and then apply the oil if you're not sure what you prefer. Try them both on different weeks and see how your hair feels throughout the week and which one had your hair feeling at its best. You can also try out different oils and see how your hair feel different oils, thicker or thinner. Oils like castor and olive are thicker than a whole, but an almond test out wish your hair knew what your hair likes and go from there. This is something that I do that I would do and I always recommend it's protective styling, I'm someone that likes to have my hair put away every now and again before I did YouTube videos. My hair was put away probably like double time, that it is put away right now. That'S why I'm always itching for a new style when it comes to practice styling, it's very important that you trim your ends prior to putting your hair under whatever start you're gon na get. Would that be a wig, so in box braids straight back, so whatever you're gon na do crochet it's imperative that you trim those ends or rather get those ends, trimmed get you a nice deep treat nice steamed treat whatever the case is healthy, moisturize hair, then you're Gon na go ahead and make sure your hair is lco or loc liquid cream oil or liquid oil cream and seal in that moisture. Before you put in any extensions or braid your hair down for any styles, make sure that your hair is in tip-top shape. Putting your hair in a protective style when it's in a trash state will only cause you more problems once you take. The hair out, like after winter, is over you're going to be in a world of problems. There are style that you can have for three months, and winter is three months. Someone like me. I would not recommend leaving in a style for 3 months, because I know that I'm not going to take care of my hair while it's in that style. So I would say a month to six weeks, keep your hair in that style. Take your hair out wash your hair conditioned your hair, go through all the motions and put the same style or a different style back in. I have been known to take out twists. Wash my hair and put the same twist back in like really like truly so you can definitely do that, but just make sure you're taking care of that hair underneath that stop, because if you're, not that style becomes less of a protective style and more of a Damaging style like I've, been there like, I really have been in a place where my hair looks like trash after checking out a protective style where the style as it's coming out of my hair, is taking my hair out with it seriously something that I've tried, and I absolutely love, but I don't do often. I don't really need to is a hot oil treatment. I think in the wintertime how old treatments can be like amazing for keeping your hair in a good way, keeping your hair healthy. So you can apply the hot oil with a conditioner or alone. As someone who was skeptical before diving into the hot oil treatment world, I fell in love and again I don't do it often I'm so lazy. Now I make videos on this channel all the time and I always say how much I love thick butters and thick Lehman's. The grease that comes is where I like say about it. Okay, so I recommend using thick creamier butters people like to keep their thick products for the winter time because they like to use it all year round. If your hair is thinner or not really needing a thick heavy butter, then definitely say it for the winter time. But if your hair is dry right now, if you're struggling it right now, thick creamy butters can be your best friend on top of some oil or whip some coals or under some oils. Whatever the case is oils and thick creamy butter should be your motto for the winter time. If you're having a dry hair problem, I feel like prepping your hair with it thick creamy butter before putting in those braids twist wigs whatever the case is essential. Some really basic tips that I feel like I've mentioned in different ways here on my channel. But I wanted to condense it into this winter: hair care tips, dry season, dry, haircare, tips that could possibly help you guys really level up your hair routine. During the colder months. I have a video on dry hair, how to tell if your hair is dry and if your hair is in fact dry or if you just think it is, and I will link that video also in the cards. I think it has a lot of good information that could be helpful in combination with what I said today, to kind of give you guys a good, routine and kind of alleviates. Whatever stress you might be, having surrounding your haircare over the winter month, cuz, it might not be as bad as you think it is, and I always say if your hair is beyond repair. If you feel, like you, tried all of these things and you simply cannot get moisturized hair go see a stylist honestly, truly singer style is having a stylist trim and treat. My hair has always brought my hair back to life and it always has restored my love for my hair because it kind of like reminded me like. Yes, we can be more manageable. We can be healthy. So me twisting up my hair for a couple of weeks. Me taking a break from styling couple of weeks, it's all in the name of treating my hair right, because I know, if I'm overdoing my hair, I'm gon na rush. Do it do it bad and break it off like I've done that before as well. So anyways again Merry Christmas. I hope that you guys have enjoyed my 12 days of Christmas as much as I've enjoyed, making the content and putting it out for you guys. Thank you for staying with me for all 12 days and if you've watched all 12 videos comment below and let me know because that is amazing, and I really really really appreciate that because it's like dedication like it's just so beautiful. Thank you guys. I can't say thank you enough, like for real. I don't know if you'll sue me for the new year, but if you don't happy new year, I will be a hundred percent consistent throughout 2020 and I have big things coming early 2020. I have things that will make you guys feel proud to be supporters of mine and also feel proud to rock and wear your hair like how you have been rocking and wearing your hair. And I want to inspire you guys to continue to do that and to embrace whatever grows out of that scalp, even if you think it's dry brittle and getting on your nerves, embrace it. Okay, we've all been there. I just can't wait to show you all what I've been working on. I just can't wait. I just can't freaking wait so yeah happy holidays. I love you guys and I will see you in the next one if I missed any tips for dry hair winter. Haircare leave them down below and help out your fellow naturals

Eniola Femi-Akala: 1. Opt for moisturising shampoo 2. Don’t skip deep conditioning! 3. Trim them endssss 4. Protect your hair when wearing beanies e.g. satin scarves/bonnets 5. Add heat/steam when deep conditioning 6. Don’t be afraid to include some oils 7. Protective styling!! (moisturise and trim beforehand) 4-6 weeks max 8. Hot oil treatments 9. Thick creams/butters >>> 10. If all things fail, seek professional help

Katherine Miller: One of the most damaging aspects of winter is not just the cold air outside, but the dry inside air caused by heating systems. In addition to staying hydrated, I use a humidifier in my home. I even have a small one for my office. Humidifiers can help keep your hair and skin from drying out during the winter.

Uptight Curls by Amanda: I’d been transitioning since last January, just big chopped last Thursday!!!! So excited and feel liberated but no one in my world understands or cares haha. Not relevant to comment. Either way. satin lined caps were LIFE for me throughout my transition. Somehow made a had work during our latest hot as hell weather in NY. Also got a satin cap from tress.com which is pretty cool. Although it’s not 100% satin. I go back to work from maternity leave Jan 6 after 4 months. Been trolling the interwebs for some braided hairstyles I can wear as protective throughout the week.

Beck Perry: Look at your diet and water intake also. Sometimes internal factors can contribute to external issues (skin, hair, etc.). Of course there are always people with trash diets with glorious hair and skin .

Octavia Allen: Lexie, I have watched every video for the 12 days of Christmas. Your videos are the only one/series I have watched or looked forward to watching. Never a dull moment either. Thanks for always being you and being honest with us re: the products. Hoped you had a wonderful Christmas. Wishing for you and yours a prosperous new year...much success and bigger ventures for 2020. God’s willing see you in the new year!

Zahra: All of these tips are on point I like the Design Essentials almond and avocado moisturizing shampoo. I just started using in August and my hair is doing a lot better. I used to clarify every week ‍♀️Also deep conditioning after every wash with heat has really helped my hair out this year. My hair is low porosity

supercakes09: Invest in a good dryer or bonnet attachment if it's too cold to air dry.

MsHoneyFly11: One of the simplest and most game changing tips I took from you a while ago is to add the oil directly after rinsing out my conditioner. It really works best for my type 4 high porosity hair.
