Hey guys winter is in full swing and it will be for a little while longer, I'm afraid so today I want to share some tips with you to get your hair through the cold season in the best condition possible. Winter can be quite hard on your hair. You have, of course, obviously the cold, but also the wind. You can inside just dry air everywhere and it can really take a toll on your hair. So, let's jump straight into the tips, so the biggest problem you can experience with your hair during winter is that it can get really dry and break off easily get split, ends more easily. The combination of cold and wet and windy weather outside and then really dry and warm air inside is really hard on hair and can cause it to break and just damaged more quickly, so something you can do for this is just as you apply a moisturizer in Your skin to prevent it from getting tries to apply some kind of moisturizer to your hair, and I personally really like to use just natural oils, and by that I mean the likes of coconut oil, argan oil. Of course, a really popular one, but also just plain olive oil - you can use, or you can of course buy some store-bought hair oils. What I actually like to do is just apply a little bit of oil. Just a few drops on the lengths and ends of my hair, so pretty much from my ears, down or kind of like my jawline down to my hair, actually every single day or whenever it just feels dry, which is a lot during winter. And for these kind of daily uses, I like to use a little bit of a lighter oil like coconut oil, for example, and then I will use a slightly heavier oil around my washes so either before I wash my hair and will let my hair soak in Some really heavy oil, like olive oil, is a pretty good heavy oil for deep conditioning. I will let it soak for a few hours and then just wash it out, or I will apply a little bit of a heavier oil after I have washed my hair to provide maximum moisture. So, while we're on the topic on washing hair, when you do wash your hair absolutely be sure to finish off with a conditioner in winter, and you may want to switch to a little bit of a more nourishing heavier conditioner. If you use a very light one at the moment, because your hair can use it, I personally use a conditioner after every single wash in winter, and then I go over with my oils as well. My hair gets really trying winter, so I do need it. Another thing you can you're washing your hair is still playing a hair mask on a regular basis. I would say around once a week or every other week at least just apply a hair mask. You can use store-bought, hair masks, of course, or you can make your own again. Olive oil is great. Honey is really good for hair. Avocado is amazing. If you search DIY hair masks online, you will find loads and loads for all specific hair types. So, of course, we mentioned that hair gets dry and skin gets dry, but, let's not forget about this scalp the skin on your head gets dry as well and needs a little bit more care in winter. If you do experience this dryness, so what you can do - and I actually really like to do this - is to apply a scalp mask. Eskom masks are made specifically to nourish and moisturize your skin on your head. So all you do is just you just apply this onto your scalp and I usually like to just go in sections, so I will apply it on my parting hair. Then I'll make a new parting slightly more to the side and one more and then I just apply in between every time and when everything is covered in masks, I will just sit there and massage my scalp for a few minutes. This really helps the mask to penetrate everywhere and it increases the blood flow to the scalp so that it gets a little bit more love from your body. Not only will this moisturize, it can also help to prevent and treat dandruff. So if you do experience that in winter and definitely give this a try, you can use a store-bought scalp mask. There are some available on the market, but again you can make your own kind of DIY hair mask scalp mask yeah. The same kind of ingredients are good for that. So again, oils and honey are really great for the scalp. If you do experience some flakiness or some danger, if you could even use a little bit of oatmeal for your scalp mask to act as a gentle exfoliant and if you are making your own mask, then consider warming up some oil in the microwave just very shortly. So that it is a nice Pleasant kind of warm temperature and applying this all over your hair, so from scalp massage it in all the way to your - and it's just cover your hair and oil completely then cover it up in some cling film or underneath a Shower cap leave it on for a few hours or overnight, even and then wash it out with some shampoo, and you will have the softest most moisturize hair. Ever I love doing whole oil treatment. They are so good for your hair, so definitely give that a go. If you have major dryness, so my next tip is to try and be gentle on your hair when you do go out, so the best thing to do. Actually, when you are about to go outside, and it's really cool, it's freezing outside is to tie your hair up or wear it in your braids, so that it doesn't have as much friction from your scarf and your head, for example, or just against your jacket. In general, your coats is something that works really well, Arlo, buns, so that you can still wear your heads, but your hair. It could just be covered underneath your scarf or just be. You know over your scarf, but at least length of your hair are kind of chafing against the scarf, and it's just a lot safer for your hair to be tied away and another thing that ties into that is in winter, especially when it's freezing. Please do not go out with wet hair. I have experienced this when I was in high school. Some of my friends would cycle to school after just after night wash their hair in the morning and their house actually frozen, and I have seen a girl that actually just took a strand of frozen hair and just broke it straight off. It was pretty terrifying and a very good lesson for me to never ever go out with wet hair when it's freezing outside. Not only is this bad for your hair, but it's dangerous for your health as well. You don't want to get a cold from going outside wet hair, so my next tip is to really try to reduce the amount of heat that you apply to your hair, and this may be a little bit contradictory to what I just said, because you definitely do Want to dry your hair before you go out, but if you do either let it air dry for a few hours or dry it on a lower setting on your hair dryer. So you're not blasting it with a load of heat, usually the medium or low setting on a hair dryer, where it's perfectly fine and also try to limit your use of heat tools in winter. Like I mentioned your hair just get that much more quickly and he is very bad for hair. So if you do want to heat style, your hair after all then be sure to use a heat protector always and try to maybe turn down the heat on your styling tools just a little bit and see what the lowest heat is. But you can still get away with in order to style your hair. A lower setting will always damage your hair a little bit less. So do try and kind of look for the lowest possible setting career heat tools to summarize first thing biggest tip moisturize. Your hair use oils use, masks, use serums, whatever you have to give some extraversion to your hair. Second, tip protect your hair from the elements, don't let it freeze and that what hair do, wear hats and tie your hair up or braid it so that it is a way when you go out. Third tip is try to reduce the amount of heat that you apply to your hair during styling, so I really hope you found these tips helpful to help you kind of get through winter with nice looking hair. Ginie L: Almond oil is AMAZING! My hair being naturally really light, it breaks really easily and it's always so dry. Even coconut oil couldn't help. I've tried several oils and the best combination for me is coconut, almond, olive and avocado oils together (twice a month, leaving it for at least 5h or overnight) and after I've washed my hair, just a bit of almond oil on damp hair (or dry). It helped SO MUCH ! Soft hair, Less breakage... The best!

Leslie Johnson: These are some great tips. My only issue is that going out in cold weather with wet hair will NOT make you sick. Catching the rhinovirus or influenza virus will, both of which thrive in colder weather. Thus why cold and flu season are in the fall/winter. Having a wet head may lower your immune system, but it will NOT cause you to get sick.

Michelle P. S.: I love your posts & you make this world a happier place. Hugs

Kirsten Paff: I have the issue that wearing hats makes my roots really greasy, which in turn results in flat, stringy looking hair.

Katelyn Jacobi: Your hair, especially your scalp area, is looking so much thicker! Did you do anything differently? Also, hair horror story: a few years ago, I washed my hair in winter and immediately took my dog for a walk with my hair still wet. My hair was frozen stiff when I got home, and as I tried to run my hands through it, it broke off in my hands. Big clumps of hair.

McKenzie Shawcroft: I have oily hair, but for some reason, my hair has been incredibly dry and static-y about halfway down this winter. These tips are so useful! I forgot about hot oil treatments.

Olga Flores: Thank you so much for your usefull advices :3 , by the way your hair looks amazing !!! ♥/ muchas gracias por tus consejos me parecen muy útiles :3, por cierto tu cabello se ve maravilloso !!! ♥

Rola Nagia: you look so pretty ur hair looks amazing as usual

melana-milene: Yay I was hoping you'd do a hair care video :) thank you <3

Whit Alleys: I have a little bottle of Maryland oil from The Ordinary that is saving my hair this winter. My hair gets very dry and brittle about halfway down from our negative temperatures and arctic blast winds, so oil is an absolute must. I’ve tried a few things, but that little $7 bottle of Marula oil has been the best by far. (I oil my skin to protect it as well, marula and rose hip oil mixed work best for that)

Jacquie O'Shea: I love coconut oil for hair , it does a good job along with olive oil & I love moisturizing conditioner for hair really helps my very dry hair out .

Stella: I have fine, thin hair that gets dry fast, and i love sleeping overnight with Rosehip oil in my ends. It's light and (for me) works great!!

becca moses: my summer hair is like your winter hair lol. it’s hella thick and i’m generally so dry that my hair is never greasy (my skin is the same - i never get greasy, but my entire face sometimes gets covered in scaly dryness), but that means i need to mask every week and cover myself in coconut oil before i shampoo year round if i want it to not break off. For anyone like me, it’s really important to use really hydrating products - the kind that are marketed to make it shiny or non-frizzy are okay, but i find that my hair is way prettier and healthier if i use moisturizing and hydrating stuff (especially in the shower). Lots of “softening” or “shiny” conditioners use silicone (look for dimethicones), which coats the hair and makes it harder to get into the actual hairs to hydrate them and over time dries them out and makes them easier to damage. it’s also good if u do lots of vintage hair or wet sets to use a spray bottle with mostly water and a little bit of leave in conditioner so whatever setting lotions or hairspray you use (which most likely contain lots of alcohol) doesn’t dry it out to much and it also helps the product actually get into the hair better bc sometimes when ur hair is dry but you’re not about to shower oils or hydrating products don’t work as well on non-damp hair. ALSO! Wash your hair like once a week, even if it isn’t greasy! Sometimes it feels really dry when it’s time to wash for me, but it’s rlly important to wash regularly to make sure there’s not a lot of buildup and also to get out actual dirt and stuff from the outside world. I never rlly need to wash because of oil, but if i go too long it starts getting limp and brittle and sad anyway because there’s so much sweat and gross atmospheric ~stuff~ there.

Susanna Weiß: Heii lucy I really like this kind of video, very well done!! Could you maybe show us a hair"style" for sleeping, that protects your hair from friction against the pillows but doesnt kink it etc. Bc i always put it in a loose topknot but cant prevent it from looking weird and (badly) wavey in the morning Any tips are very well apreciated. Ps sorry ..dat was a huge paragraph ❤❤

Alelia: Which scalp masks do you recommend? Ive never heard of it but im experiencing dry scalp right now. ☺️

varsha1010: Very helpful, thanks!

Alelia: Your hair is looking amazing!

Abanood Bebo Bebo: Fabulous . I have followed Loepsie from a short period, and your work is wonderful. Is it possible to send a picture of an artist to help me perform her hairstyle? And thank you for your help

Kayla Collins: Do you have videos on hair care routines especially for very thick hair?

Marianne Dominique: Can you do a Sarah shagal/Sharon tate make up and hair tutorial from the movie the fearless vampire killers?

MituDjakarian: This filming "location" is a-mazing. The light is gorgeous!

Mary Kate: Your videos are a life-saver. I mean hair-saver. hahaa, same thing.

krystine Lee: Hi your so amazing oh my God i love all your videos .

Chara Ayars: is there any truth to the old advice that brushing hair with boar bristle is good for the hair/scalp? And is exfoliating the scalp a good idea?

Amanda Videos: I love your channel... Kisses for brasilian girls..

Girls corner: u look so beautiful

Chara Ayars: what do you think of egg washes?

Nøur nóür: ❤

Ruba 01621: Your so so cute.

Girls corner: tell any tip for to much thin hair

Dat Boii: You should do a vid of Eleanor of Aquitaine for beauty beacons

Aya Zraiq: you look a lot like Pelin Karahan!! OMG

elena bolchuk: You're too cute☺

WHATEVER !: Wow I'm so happy

Turan Abasova: Wooow You look like Turkish actress Pelin Karahan very very beautiful
