Hey guys welcome back to my channel, so today, I'm gon na show you guys how I prepare for box braids. I typically use about 4 to 5 bags, depending on how big or how full my clients here you know is for this particular tutorial. I'M using a mix of the color 4 and the color 27 because she requested a highlighted. Look as you can see, the Braves per pack come really really long, so of course, you're gon na have to cut it. This is gon na, be very, very detailed on how to cut the hair and how to feather the hair and all that good stuff. You see, the ends are very blunt and you're gon na have to feather them all. So whenever you cut them, I'm gon na show you guys how to cut it. My client requested me back Lynch, so you always want to cut in four pieces for me back and I'll show you guys how to do that in a minute, so you're gon na fold, the first half into two and fold the bottom half into two as well. Giving you four different sections in total now, if you wanted to achieve a length longer than made back, you don't want to cut in threes, but I can do another video for you guys on how to do that. But for now we're just doing the four cuts. So when you're done cutting up or five bags or four and a half bags, this is what it should look like. I know they look quite short, but I'm gon na show you guys how to extend them, which is aka feather feather in your braids I'll show. You guys how to achieve that. So what you want to do is just grab one of those little sections and make sure you have a very, very firm hold on them on your left hand or, depending on your less dominant hand, that's what you're gon na use to hold it, since I'm right Handed I'm gon na be favoring on my right hand, so just taking little strand by strand eventually you're gon na get the hang of it. So, but first you want to take a little strand by strand and just extend them a little bit. That'S all you're doing it's very, very simple, just taking a little piece by piece, maybe five or three strands at a time just pulling them. You know as fast as you can, the more you practice the better you're gon na get at this and the more you know quick you're going to get, but I don't make it complicated. Just always make sure that you have a quite a firm hold on your left-hand side. Just so, whenever you're pulling your braids are still gon na stay in place, and it's not just gon na, be you know too messy, but at the bottom you're gon na see like whenever you're pulling. The bottom is gon na get very like fuzzy and bunched up. That just shows you, like you, know, you're doing what you're supposed to be doing you're on the right track, just keep pulling it's showing that whatever you're pulling it it has an effect at the bottom. So that's how you know that you know you're not like you're doing what you're supposed to do. If that make sense, that's how you know you're doing a good job, so just keep pulling at that rate. Like I said the more you do the faster you're gon na get, so don't don't get scared by how amazing you get I'll show you guys how to get a hold of that when you're done pulling so yeah. I know some of you are gon na ask how do you know what piece to grab you see that little hair in the middle? That'S not part of the the bunch you have in your left hand, but it's like that. Little scanty hair. In the middle point of what of the hair you've already stretching the hair, you haven't stretched, yet that's where you're gon na grab hair to pull you're, not gon na grab directly from the huge chunk of hair. On your left hand, side you're, gon na grab right in the middle of where you have hair it stretched out and hair. That'S still bunched up so right in that little V point! That'S when you grab your hair so when you're done, this is what your hair should look like. The bottom looks crazy, do not start combing this hair right away like this cuz, you have a tangled mess. What you want to do is begin separating piece by piece. This will kind of help detangle it so that way, whenever you comb the hair out, you don't lose so much hair. So just start taking your just start. You know pulling it apart piece by piece so take hair from your left hand, side and kind of stretch. It out to your right hand, so just taking hair from your left hand piece by piece and then moving them to your right hand, side. It'S all you're doing, but this is doing it's just kind of detangling, the hair for you. So that way, whenever you do go on to brush the hair out, it's not so tangled, it's not so bunched up together. It just makes your life so much more easier. Now what I always recommend people doing is doing this step before your clients comes. Sometimes. I know it's hard to kind of. You know work this into your schedule, but if it's possible, you know, do the prep step before your clients come. I promise you guys. You will save an hour from your braiding time. This will guarantee you that you will save an hour from your braiding time. It works all the time for me whenever I stretch here before clients come I end up. I end up finishing my braids like an hour earlier than I normally would so always do this step before your clients come. I promise you, you save one hour guaranteed. It works okay, so just taking a powder brush, I'm just going to be brushing the hair after I've already separated them just taking it and just brushing them as usual. Nothing fancy nothing special, just making sure that you have a very good, strong, paddle brush. It'S gon na be a little bit tingly, but just make sure you brush it through just consistently going over it with a brush and until the hair is smooth until the hair. Doesn'T you know tangle up whenever you put a brush through it? That'S how you know. You'Re ready to go and yeah so when you're done brushing the hair out just take your hair cream. I always go for my blue magic hair cream conditioning hair cream and apply that to the hair I just brushed out. What this is going to do is make sure that your braiding hair is soft. You guys it's gon na show such a notice, like you're gon na notice, a difference from when you put hair cream on your hair products when you're braiding, because it's gon na be so much softer. It'S gon na be easier to work. It'S gon na be easier to take apart. It'S just gon na make everything just smooth and easier for you. I promise I promise. I did not lie to you. Guys just always apply hair cream to your braiding hair and then just tie it in a knot and you're good to go, and it will keep the same step for all your braiding hair. As you can see me parting it it's just so much easier. It doesn't stress you nothing, so this is just like a little before and after so this is what your hair looks like before when we started very blunt - and this is what your hair looks like after stretching the hair, it's very feathered, it's more natural! Looking it's easier to braid and it looks better whenever you finish braiding, so thank you guys so much for watching. I hope this video was helpful to you and I'll catch. You guys in my next video have a merry day in context.
