Tips For Curly Hair

These are some very simple ways to eliminate poof and frizz from your hair, giving you the healthiest, most luxurious curls possible.

Hey everyone, so I've been getting a lot of questions recently about curly hair, whether it's about my hair personally or about how to manage curly hair. A lot of people have been telling me that they hate their curly hair, that it makes them feel ugly. It'S frizzy and I really wanted to make a video about it, because that's something I can definitely relate to you know. Whenever you see commercial for a hair product or a shampoo, you always tend to see the same type of hair. This very straight, very silky, shiny hair, even the curly hair, looks like straight hair. That'S been curled up with them an iron, so you very rarely seen natural curly, hair and people tend to forget what a blessing curly hair actually is, because you have the versatility that straight haired, girls don't have. You can learn your hair curly, you make it wavy or you could straighten it out and you have the option of looking. However, you want also healthy curly. Hair is extremely beautiful, it's extremely sexy, you know, and it is sort of a rarity. It'S like especially unique quality to have so I suggest that all you, girls, with curly, hair, embrace it and learn to love it and in this video, I'm going to give you a few tips on how to make your hair as beautiful as possible, to keep your Curls as healthy as they can be so my first rule is never ever brush your hair, especially when it's dry and even when it's wet. But if you brush curly hair when it's dry, it is going to turn into an afro puff and I don't mean an afro in a good cool way. I mean like not a cute afro you're, going to want to use a wide tooth comb to brush through your hair, and you are going to want to deal with your hair, mostly when it's wet and try to little as possible when it's dry, because once it's Dry, it's already in its form. The curls are as they're supposed to be, and you just don't want to touch it because you're gon na mess it up and you're gon na make it further out. If you keep messing with your hair and because curly hair breaks easily, you never want to comb it unless it has some kind of conditioner in it. My next tip has to do with shampoo and conditioner always use a shampoo and a conditioner. That'S moisturizing! I don't really care what brand you use. I have my own preferences as far as brand, but that's for another video, whatever brand it is that you do use, make sure it's as moisturizing or conditioning or for dry hair. Something of that sort because - and I'm gon na keep reiterating this point in the whole video you need to put moisture in your hair if your curly hair is dehydrated, it's going to look like crap period, so you need to constantly be pumping it with moisture. My next tip is use gel sparingly, there's really nothing more unappealing than a crunchy curl, and you know if you use a lot of hair gel you're gon na get that hard, crunchy wet. Looking girl that I don't know you like, but I don't so leave-in conditioner - is a must that should be your staple load up on leave-in, conditioner, curl, defining mousse and serum. You know like frizzies or bio silk is my favorite, just something that's very soft and that will keep the frizz levels down and that has that good consistency of a serum. These are all things that are good for curly, hair, really great and very easy tip that I have for combating frizz, which, as you can see, I mean I I have frizz in my hair like crazy. I'Ve damaged my hair in the past. By dyeing it and I'm on the quest now to make it healthy, but it's in no way perfect, but hair spray is great because you start to do that. First, forming just like this top lair of frizz. Here you just take hairspray spray, it all around the top, where you have your frizz and just use your fingers like this and just push the frizz down, and while it won't be getting rid of the root problem of the frizz, which is your lack of moisture And the way you've been aggravating your hair and everything, it won't be an eyesore anymore, and that is a really good check for us. Please, please, by all means, if you can avoid heat, always avoid heat. I don't. I straighten my hair, not gon na lie. It'S probably the reason why my hair hasn't gone back to its full health, yet because maybe once a month sometimes twice a month, I'll straighten my hair and it's not good yeah. It looks good when it's straight, but the amount of moisture that it takes out of your hair. It will take you like weeks to put that back in you. Just don't want to do anything. That'S gon na fry, your hair, because it's gon na make it frizzier. It'S gon na make it look dull and lifeless, and actually, if you're, trying to grow your hair, it's going to slow down your rate of growth as well. Okay! Next, I would advise you to wash your hair as little as possible, and I know for some people, maybe who are used to washing their hair, everyday or every other day. You might be like you know gross, but to be honest, because our hair naturally does not have the oil of straight fine hair, it's not as oily. It'S actually so dry, it's okay to go longer without washing your hair, because it's not gon na get all oily and then build up dirt and and all that stuff. If I can wash my hair like once a week I'll, do that sometimes I can't like, if I'm playing a lot of sports or working out a lot or you know just being very physical or if I go to the beach or the pool which, in the Summertime there's more of obviously it's harder to keep your hair healthy in the summer. Then I have to wash it often when I'm not involved in all those activities and everything I try to wash it once a week. If I can do it less I'll, do it less very important is to have a deep conditioning regimen, so I would recommend once a week putting a deep conditioner in your hair, leaving it in at least 30 minutes and preferably overnight. This is still all about moisturizing, and this is a good way to just give your hair a blast of moisture, especially if you're using heat at any point. You need to deep condition your hair and you can get a cream. You can get an oil if you're broke and you can't buy anything, you can use mayonnaise or you can use olive oil. I all the time I put just straight-up warm olive oil in my hair and I drench it and saturate it and I leave it in for hours and it's really good for your hair. But I get this one. That'S like it's called plus it's a placenta. I don't know from what animal I think it's a whale, and I know that sounds weird, but it works really well and it's an oil when you heat it up and put it in your hair and that's like I think, a dollar at the beauty supply store. Go to Sally's you'll find a ton of deep conditioners. My next bit of advice is to trim your hair. Often if you can do it every month. That would be great, but every six to eight weeks is fine trimming. Your hair is good because it opens up your hair shaft. It allows your curls to take that spiral shape a lot more easily. Also, when you get your hair cut, hopefully you have a good stylist who knows how to shape curly hair, because it does need to be shaped differently than straight hair. I recommend cutting curly hair when it's wet, because then your stylist can see the shape that your curl naturally takes and not the shape that you've manipulated it into. I would recommend a haircut with layers for curly hair. It'S very rare that somebody can cap curly hair. That'S all one length and not have that like triangle, look like my shortest layer is right there and my longest, my last tip is sort of like the universal beauty tip. This applies to everything. Doing this will not only improve your hair, but your nails and your internal organs and everything if you haven't already guessed its drinking water internally, moisturizing your body, hydrating your body, it's going to take an effect on your hair. You will see your hair become shiny and lustrous you'll, see your skin become free of all blemishes and you'll start to glow your eyes become clearer, it's just absolutely the best beauty tip ever just drink water. Try to practice these tips because, believe me, I've had my curly hair for 25 years, it's been a hassle, it's taking me a long time to figure out what to do, and those are some things that are pretty much failed proof. So thanks for watching and I'll see you guys soon,

Elocyn: For curly hair (especially longer curly hair), longer layers is a great way to go. If you go to a salon, ask the person who would be doing your hair if they've ever worked with curly hair or not and if they feel comfortable doing so. If they don't seem very confident, then don't let them work on your hair. Ask for long layers, maybe a few shorter pieces to frame your face slightly, but not too short. Also, bangs are usually a no-no if you have curly hair, haha. Hope this helps you out.(:

pri22v11: You are awesome! You totally changed my view of my hair, from annoying and ugly to rare, unique versatile and sexy! As a guy curly hair can be seen as unattractive especially when it gets tangled and frizzy, but with your tips it looks amazing! Thanks chica! :)

Myrrh: You know, I must have watched this video a year ago. I looooovvveeeeee my curls, but I always want to find ways to improve them. So I saw this, took your advice, and I can honestly say that your tips have worked. I get complimented on my hair all the time, and it's great. I don't have the fine curls either, I have rough, dry, unruly curls that tangle regardless of how long I keep them. I find that virgin olive oil though takes care of it very very well. Thank you!!! <3

Juliana Harkavy: Thank you for all the sweet comments everyone, I'm so glad my video could help you love your curls!! I'm sorry if I don't answer every question, I will consolidate the most frequently asked questions and make another video for all of you. Love you all!

Geneva Hart: This is awesome!!. Omg its so true how it takes so long for alot of us curly haired girls to figure out how to work the curls. Im 20 and I'm finally just learning to make my hair look amazing! My hair was never so good in my teen years though :'( ugh all the years of hair frustration!...i do have one kinda odd request though. Have you ever had keratin bonded extensions? If so, can you do a video tutorial on how to take care of them.

Alexandra Cendejas: Thank you so much for the tips. You are an amazing person for sharing this with us curly/frizzy haired people!!!

Christie Valentine: Great advice and beautiful hair! I have naturally curly hair and I get it chemically straightened but am considering going back. You've convinced me! Thanks so much!

lorena33614: You just mentioned a lot of things that took me years to learn about my hair and it would of been really useful if i had these tips when i was younger. I love how you tell the truth about things, many commercials dont show truely curly hair instead they use a curled straight haired person.

Nici Jones: I love this video! When you said that crunchy curls looks like crap, hahaha so true! I have curly hair and I LOVE it, but thanks for the tips, my hair is like yours in the video but a bit shorter and not so dark brown, it's so great to hear you encouraging gals like me, your awesome thank you!!

Katelyn Gutierrez: Thanks for the tips. My hair is like yours and i wear it like that everyday and the popular girls at my school(with straight hair) always try to give me "tips" about my hair(as if they know) like using de frizz spray or cutting my hair which makes me feel bad but i know they mean well. All of the good things you said made me feel good about my hair and made me realize that curly hair is beautiful.

nerdslikebooks: i used to hate my curly hair when i was younger because i looked different from all my friends, but after listening to so many people telling me they'd kill to have my hair, i actually think girls with curls are pretty lucky. so GOOD ON YOU for encouraging curly hair girl :)

Nemo Asteroid: i love this! i've finally seen someone with my exact hair type. totally going to follow these tips =D

katiebiggirl: Thank u so much 4 sharing ur knowledge with everyone, it's so great to hear from someone with experience n who understands what curly hair can be like. I will definitely be trying out some of these tips. Thank u again! :)

Stefanie: THANK YOU!!!!!! I was starting to feel like the only girl in the world with curls besides my sisters and mom...& family. Lol I can do all these tips!! EXCEPT the no heat I straighten my hair ALLLLlLLL the time. I mainly keep it curly in the summer cause of the beach and pool and stuff. But youve inspired me to go curly and be proud. and I know what you mean with the curly crunchy wet look I hate it but sometimes it was the only way to flatten my curls. Thanks again!!!!! Ps youuuu have Ni

Genesis Barrios: Thank you so much! I had my hair straight for like 3 weeks and when I washed it, it was curlier than before

spike3leg: Shit, I have been straighting, brushing and washing my hair every day for the past few months :/ But, this is amazing, thankyou so much! I have always hated my curly hair simply because of frizz, so thankyou SO much! this is going straight into favourites! xx <3

KawaiiGuitarGirl: Now I don't have to wear my hair in buns or braids anymore! It was so frizzy and stuff that it didn't look nice when worn naturally, thank you so much! :D

imaginexxx: I have curly hair! Very curly..and I've learned to love it. I use to starighten my hair every day for school because all the other girls had it so I wanted to be like everybody else. I've gotten made fun of for having curls..called names like poodle,,and worse. But curls are beautiful, you just have to learn to take care of them. And now at school I'm one of the only girls with curly hair and I love that. I like to be different.

Faith Horn: Thanks for this amazing video! I love your hair!!!!! I have curly hair like yours! and I hat it because it is so damaged from me straightening but your have reminded m how great it is to have curly hair! you've inspired me to love my hair and embrace it again!!!!

Maisie Patricia: Thanks for this video :) I have crazy curly frizzy hair and it poofs out loads. The only time I like it is when it's half wet, half dry, which is how it is in my youtube picture. It poofs out a ton when it's fully dry.I kind of have a phobia about going to the hairdressers. The last time I went there I was about 5 years old. Since, I've had it cut at home, which means its never been styled or anything, it's just grown. Do you have any tips about what I should ask for when I do go? I'm scared :(

superpenguin716: When I was younger I hated my hair! I tried to change it with gels and chemicals and straighteners. Then I decided to let it be healthy and it was hell at first with frizz and I saw people with nice curls and thought it was just genetics and mine would never look like that. But I gave it time, switched to organic moisturizing products, and a few years later my curls are amazing! I get so many compliments, I wouldn't change my hair for anything!

Love(`・ω・´): Thanks so much! My hair is a giant curly mess so this really helped a lot

James Gomez: I did the olive oil thingy. Lemme tell ya, I felt great. I don't know if I did anything, but I certainly felt confident afterwards. I love my curls now, and I love love Love having stumbled on this video, thank you.

LifeGivesYouSugarToo: bah! this is awesome! you've described all of my troubles like the top layer shapeless frizz, the triangle analogy, the wet hair look, the damage via straightener. the only thing i have a problem with is that my hair is thinner than most people. help!

Julissa: Great tips!! Specially the one about drinking water, I've been drinking so much water that my hair and skin look so much better!

Elocyn: Aww, better luck next time! It definitely took me awhile to figure out what worked for my hair (I'm a curly girl too!) - in fact, I'm still experimenting and starting to embrace my curls.(:

The Pink Cow: Thank you so much my curly hair is so hard to deal with and so now I am going to try to embrace it instead of making it different :)

shurbitup: This video has been extremly helpful! i have curly hair and have a bit of trouble with it this video gave me alot of good information thank you!!!

Frills and Screams: Ah, the universal conflict of curly hair girls wanting straight hair and straight hair girls wanting curly hair. I personally have really curly hair and I have gone through that phase. I have passed that stage and now embrace my curls, now to tame the frizz....

umbra88: I thought I'd share that I have curly hair and I've always hated how shampoo and conditioner made my hair fluff out. I now wash my hair solely with a baking soda/water mix and apple cider/water mix. I've been doing it for about a half year and my hair is more moisterized, healthy, and the curls are lookin good baby! i also dont need to wash my hair as much. once every two weeks. ITS THE BEST

Juliana Harkavy: @24morningstar Use curling mousse at the root and scrunch at the root with your hands, then use a blow dryer (with a diffuser) and blow dry at the root in an upward motion. Then hairspray. You can also tease the hair underneath the outermost layer of hair and hairspray that to give the top a lift :)

TP: Thank you <3 my hair's not so frizzy anymore :D

Juliana Harkavy: @DeenaDakhiel Aww! Thank you lol. You can definitely apply conditioner to the scalp, just don't be too rough when you do so and your hair shouldn't fall out :)

SuperInspired: when I was younger, I didn't see the beauty in my curly hair...now I'm older cut my hair shorter and lost a lot of curl, now I miss it! So I'm growing it out!!

Caitie Bush: I was wondering, you mentioned in the video to deep condition for half an hour once a week or to even leave it in all night if possible, do we wrap our hair up in a towel or something to help it soak in? I have pretty nice curly hair compared to my friends, but it's mostly luck because I've been doing a lot if what you said shouldn't be done to keep our hair healthy and I want to start doing that so if you could let me know that would be great :)

Jorinde: I have an appointment for a haircut in a few days and I sort of decided to not cut it in layers anymore because I was getting tired of it, but I think you just convinced me to keep it a little bit layered cause you're probably right, I don't want that triangle thing. I grew my curly hair until almost waist length but the ends are so dead now, it's just horrible! I'm a little bit scared of cutting a lot off though!! But I hope I will get a healthier and curlier look from cutting it...

Lexa Murry: Thanks you sooo much!! You really helped!! A couple of nights ago, i had washed my hair and put heaps of leave in conditioner after my shower, then i put it in 4 braids and i took it out the next morning...and my hair was soooooo silky and it had really nice curls!! U r like a god! thanks! :-D

Geneva Hart: P.s. To all my curly haired sisters, hair skin and nail vitamins (or even prenatal ones)...AND fish oil pills! I heard these work wonders too. I just started taking both =]

Diana Sayed: omg now I LOVE my hair. Lately I've been feeling very.....blahh. Because my hair is very curly and not always the most appealing. Thanks for the tips!! <3

JeepersJanel: I LOVE YOU !! Thank you SO much for this! made me feel a million X better (:

adventuresofagirl: I'm a little afraid of using combs, but I'll try it now. Thanks for the fantastic tips! :)

SheHasItAll2: Definitely will be using these tips. I will be coming back to this video many times to remind myself. Thank you!

Lolo: coconut oil is amazing for deep conditioner! it has tiny pieces that go into you hair and moisturizes it! find it at walmart! yay for curly hair! <3

Christina Toricelli: Your hair is absolutely gorgeous. Mine is really puffy, it looked like a trolls hair until I learned these tips :) Thanks a lot :)

Pamela Cieśla: Thank you so much for the advice! I'll be sure to take greater care of my hair now. I'm just slightly worried because my curls are a lot less wavy than yours...my hair is just....FRIZZ. :P

Gisella a: From all the curly frizzy hair videos I've seen, you're probably the only person who's hair is similar to mine. Thanks for the tips!! :D

Smamborghini: Yes to this video and everything you say. I love my curls and hope to share the love betwixt the curly headed clan of beautiful gals!

D P: All your tips are simply AMAZING!!!

D P: All your tips are simply AMAZING!!!

Ava Sheff: @danceinheavan hey, i recommend shampooing once a week, but then every day when you shower, use conditioner and comb through with a wide toothed comb. it will keep moisture in you hair and get the knots out. i hope this helps :)

Neverendinghappyland: WOW OH my goodness I love your video. this video has been giving me the answers I need for my cores curly hair. I'm German and Canadian and yes I have cores curly hair. Also very thick hair. This video has answered some of my questions, no I think all of my questions I love, I love it thanks for making this video. PLEASE oh PLEASE make way more videos like this one.

Hannah’s Herps: thank you so much! i have extreamly curly hair (more curly than yours!) and i have been trying to find in-expensive way to keep it tame! it gets sooo frizzy! do you have any recommended hair products to use??? please help! :) thank you

Emily Rose: This is SOOOOOO helpful!!!!! thanks!!

Juliana Harkavy: @danceinheavan hahaha! I totally understand my hair gets like that too. You can carefully put your hair in a high bun on top of your head while you're sleeping, then in the morning take it out, and using a spray bottle filled with a mixture of water and leave in conditioner, dampen your hair and use your fingers to "wrap" your curls back into their shape. That should help!

Awesomeguycurls: Weird,I brush my curly hair before I wash it.It actually make's my curls more defined, softer, and more bouncy.

Heylin: Thanksss for the tips definitely gonna try them out(:

alchez11: I don't get how people could hate their curly hair! Its a blessing. As you said we should embrace it. your hair is great. Loved your video.

Angela K: Hi! Before you swim put a little conditioner in your hair and put a swim cap on when your swimming. Once a week you should do a oil treatment consisting of coconut oil, olive oil, and gape seed oil. Apply the oil to your whole head and put a shower cap on your head and sleep with it over night. Wash it in the morning and make sure you add moisturizer to your hair. Make sure you keep your hair moisturized cause the chlorine will damage it. Hope this helped. Ask me more questions if needed!

Sharon: Can you do a curly hair routine video? (:

Juliana Harkavy: @Coolgirl0090 It's natural. You can put in your product while your hair is damp, flip your hair over, and use a blow dryer with a defuser on low (pointing up, so your head is down and the dryer is pointing up). Very gently scrunch your hair from the bottom up as you blowdry. When it's almost dry, flip your hair back and hairspray lightly for the fly aways.

Juliana Harkavy: @ku42 Hi! I would suggest filling a spray bottle with a mixture of water and leave in conditioner and keeping that in your bathroom. When you wake up in the morning, spray that in your hair and comb through it, then scrunch with your hands. You can then add a little curling mousse and/or serum to keep the curl in tact :)

Juliana Harkavy: @bestfriends9799 Moroccan Oil Cream is my favorite. If you put that (or any leave in conditioner) in your hair while it's still damp, then wrap each curl around your finger to "form" it, it will help correct a crazy hair day. I recommend long layers for our type of hair :)

Maria Gonzalez: finally a video about frezzy curly hair, thanks !

backpacc: So, I am not used to not washing my hair often but when I do so, it seems that I just cannot style it after that. My hair looks exactly like yours but I just run out of things to do with it :( Are there any suggested styling tips for the day after the day after unwashed hair?

Juliana Harkavy: @TEEHEEhippolover Use olive oil as a deep conditioning treatment once a week. It will soften your hair but also, oil will pull out oil. Try dry shampoo once in a while as well, it might help with the oiliness.

Juliana Harkavy: @shaycrzin section your hair into 4, then, keeping the curls in tact, twist each section and pin close to your head. They sell silk scarves for cheap at most beauty supply stores, so I'd get one, then wrap your head (with the sections in) to prevent the morning frizz. When you wake up, take down the sections, spray your hair with a water/leave in conditioner mix and rake your fingers through it a couple times.

Juliana Harkavy: @anne48224 While your hair is still wet from the shower, apply your leave in conditioner and/or curling mousse. Separate your hair into sections and twist each individual curl around your finger, so you form the spiral yourself. Either air dry or blow dry with a diffuser then set with hairspray. This should work fine :) (Also check out a product called Curlformers. You can find out about them on Youtube or if you google them).

Nathaniel Baratta: OK, so my routine after showering is combing the tangles out of my hair, applying mouse (tons haha), adding some anti frizz , rarely do I use gel or hairspray. The problem I am running into is that as soon as my hair dries it looks HIDEOUS and bugs the crap out of my so I end up putting it in a pony tail... Are there any tips you could give me? I have curly hair , more curlier than yours, and its about the same length. P.S. I am a guy so I don't straighten my hair at all.

calynmusiclove: best tip video i've seen! thankyou so much! im going to definately try these out! :)

Zoobia Malik: Thank you so much, i recently got a perm and it's so frustrating to take care of -_- but your video is deff helpful, thanks a lot again!

Lexa Murry: Hey, your tips are really good! They help heaps! I just wanna ask, is Moose good for curly hair? Especially for styling and keeping the curls in place? Also, will trimming my hair every 6-8 weeks help, because my hair is starting to get dry and the ends and it looks, Ugly as! Think it needs a trim! Thanks for your other tips!

parez: I was brushing my dry curly hair, and when she said "Don't brush your hair when it's dry" I automatically dropped my brush. LOL.

Ashley Sverdrup-Yap: Amazing video, thank you!!!

Dazed & Confused: I have the EXACT type of hair you have... thanks for the tips! :)

Juliana Harkavy: @KaylasbChannel Well you can use a curling iron to define the puffy parts at the back, and to take care of your edges, get a trim every 6-8 weeks :)

Juliana Harkavy: @CrayolaDog Mousse is great! And leave-in-conditioner is a must. I don't love gel. You can use hairspray to tame fly aways and "set" you're look.

veronica Toledo: thanks so much for this I really needed this!!!

Arianaaa: this helps a lot! thanks!

mnschoonover99: Thank you so much this video helped me ALOT :)

Juliana Harkavy: @kittyXshake I usually either put it in braids or just in a bun ontop of my head, then dampen it with water/leave-in-conditioner in the morning and use my fingers to reshape the curls :)

Juliana Harkavy: @MszCHiCQUiTA Thank you honey! Don't get discouraged, put some olive oil in there as it's drying and make sure you have a good layered haircut that won't let it get bob-ish :)

Mel Dan: Oh my goodness!! You are a genious! Thank you so much for all your tips! But two months ago, when i heard it wasn't healthy for people like us to wash every day or so, I started to wash every 3 days. The only problem is that i've had dandruff for as long as i can remember so i decided to wet my hair every day and afterwards add a leave-in conditioner. Am i only making it worse? I hope you can help. Thank you again!

Juliana Harkavy: @brittanyeld1 You can use a curling iron to define the shorter poofy part, that always worked for me :)

emily45798: Thanks a lot!! My hair is so had to deal with...it's like yours...with my hair I have a straight section in the back of my head it's soft...the rest of my hair... Top: wire type hair Middle: frizzy Bottom: soft curls My hair is so annoying:p I love it but...arg..also half the hair protects I alergic to D': haha that's my life in my hair world!

Lexa Murry: Your hair is gorgeous!! It looks so fresh, shiny and so healthy and lively! I've got curly hair too and i get so frustrated with it because i have so much frizz! I've search alot of links and they help much i still need products that are here where i live. Alot of products i get from utubers are in america or England. I just want my hair to my healthy and curly like yours! Im trying to grow my hair and it doesnt really work with me avoiding to brush because it gets so hard. I really need help!!!

AndreaJuliet: I've tried different oils for deep conditioning, but it seems like after I wash it out my hair is even more dry because I had to shampoo it so often just to oils out? How is this avoided with oils, (I've tried coconut, almond, olive, mayo). Any tips? thanks!

Girny221: OMG finally a good video THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!(:

NievesChik: Its so true!!! I have hair similar to yours but my hair is extremely dry so I have to use coconut oil in a jar thats for African hair but it keeps my curls defined and less dry! Also its funny cuz the frizz does tend to settle on the outer layer, urghhhhh!! lol!!!

Kindertainment: wow you are so inspiring!!!!! i have very curly hair and im just trying to figure out how to style it

Victoria M: Thank u so much!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been looking at a lot of videos and yours was definitely one of my favorites!!!!

Boricuatea: Hey JewesyCakes, you gave many good tips. I disagree with the tip how water intake affects the hair. Once your hair is already out of the follicle, anything you take internally cannot change the texture of it. Hair is dead filament. Adding to your tips: rotate shampoo and conditioner brands, use satin bonnet or wrap or satin pillowcase to sleep and if you have curly hair and oily scalp and need to wash frequently, use shampoo only on scalp and don't lather the rest of the hair.

Juliana Harkavy: @clairesnick My hair usually won't get oily within a week. If it does I have to wash it or use dry shampoo. But to freshen up my curls I take a spray bottle with water and dampen my hair. It reactivates the mousse and leave in conditioner that are already in there. (You can even add a little extra product if you want.) Then I rub a shine serum like Frizz Ease on my hair. I also scrunch my curls a little, spray some hairspray on any frizz and lightly push it down. It looks as good as new.

SassyconQueso: @Maruchela Water intake may not have a noticeable effect right away, because you're right in that it will not affect your existing hair. However if properly hydrated the new growth will be in better condition. So she is right, as are you. The rest is great advice though.

Nanax3: You definetly hit it riiight on the nosee ! Everything you were saying was on poinnt about curly hair . So thanks and imma take the advice from this video :))

Care Bear: love your video...great info!!!

oioaa: i have super curly hair and i always put etheir almond oil or regular olive oil in it right after i come out of the shower, it gives moisture, makes it soft and keeps the frizz doowwn :D

Lexa Murry: Thanks soooo much! U helped alot! Just one more question..Do you brush your hair when it's dry of only when it has conditioner in it? Cuz i only brush it with my hands with conditioner in it, and i put it in my hair every1 or 2 days or so every time im in the shower. I put in lots of leave in conditioner, nd yet it seems to get all knotty on me! It gets really frustrating! So pls respond..no rush! thnx baiez

Juliana Harkavy: @MszCHiCQUiTA aww thank you for the compliment! I definitely don't like gel either. As long as you have a good haircut and keep your hair conditioned, you shouldn't need to use gel at all :)

Juliana Harkavy: @NikitaMariia I love Moroccan oil, the cream. I rinse it with apple cider vinegar once every couple weeks to detoxify it and use a sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner :) I use Aussie hairspray for styling

Luann Consentino: These are really good curly hair tips. What are your favorite hair brands for your hair?
