Hey guys welcome back to our channel ebony, i'm erica in today's video. We have another episode of how she grew, where we just go and find black women who give hair growth tips either on their youtube channel or on their instagram. And then we just go ahead and kind of condense it onto one video. So that's easy to get these tips. Black hair can grow, especially black relaxed hair, especially with the right regimen, routine and products, and whitney cherelle is the perfect example of that. We actually found a power tip that she gave where she was able to grow her hair past her shoulders down her back, which is where hair growth usually plateaus around that. So stick around for that, because we're going to give that to you. So we found our instagram and we were hooked. The minute we saw her feed and one thing that we're big fans of um that we saw was that she has relaxed hair like us, yeah, so she's been relaxed for close to six years now, and the relaxer that she uses is the one from ors. I'M not quite sure how often she relaxes, but i know when i last saw that she relaxed on her instagram. It was in june, and she said that was the second time she relaxed this year. So i'm guessing, maybe she has like a four or five month stretch between her relaxers, probably like what three times a year yeah. At one point i saw that she goes by feel as far as new growth is concerned, which i thought was pretty interesting. Instead of a timeline or trying to go by a stretch, goal um, she goes by how her new growth feels, which i thought was pretty interesting. So i don't know, do any of you guys do that, like we said, we can see that her relaxed hair is growing and it is growing long and her picks. You can see the progression of her hair growth and a lot of people say like when you have relaxed hair, it's usually damaged or then, but that is because at all yeah, but that's clearly not the case with her hair yeah and i don't even want to Say that it's just genetics, because i hate people say: oh her hair is long because she has good genes. This and honestly there's nothing wrong with having good genes that grow your hair long. But when people just say, oh, it's just genetics. I feel like they're, very dismissive of the fact that black women can't put in work to grow their hair, and it's also them pushing that false narrative that black hair can't grow without genetics and stuff. So like no like, you can grow long hair with hard work and consistency. In fact, she even said herself when someone in the comments asked what's her secret. She said it plain and simple: she just worked hard to find a regiment and according to whitney her regimen is protective styling heat reduction and moisturizing, and it sounds simple we're going to get into the specifics of how she does it. I, like her relaxers the products she uses to grow her hair along they're like drugstore brands. They aren't anything fancy like me, high-end brands or anything which i think is great, considering that a lot of people right now aren't able to go to the salon. Um yeah a lot of the high-end brands exclusive brands, so all of this is totally doable, so we're just going to see how she does it now for her wash day she washes weekly and then every now and then she'll clarify he's like a clarifying shampoo. So i know for her her regular wash shampoo. She does. She uses cream of nature, argan oil, moisture brand and then for her clarifying. She uses one from ogx. It'S like a pomegranate and ginger one, and then for conditioning she uses um herbal essences, hello, hydration! That'S like a really deep moisture type of conditioner and then for her deep conditioner. She used the proclaimed, jamaican black, castor oil, hydrating mask or she'll use the aussie three-minute moist deep conditioner. So you may be saying we all wash and condition our hairs. How did it grow that long now, heat isn't bad if you know how to make it work for your hair and not overdo it, if you can't get by without it, it can do wonders for your hair and apparently, after her wash face, she usually air dries, Which kudos to her? Because that takes forever? In fact, she's been known to do 30 day no heat challenge, which for 30 days she puts no heat on her hair, which i know that probably contributes to the majority of her growth. Now some people, when they air dry, they do air dry straight. I'Ve seen videos people doing that. I'Ve done that one time i just air dry, it straight. It takes forever, but then i'll just leave it straight. She air dries with protective styling as her end goal. She'S extremely big on wearing her hair and protective styles. In fact, she said she rarely wears her hair down straight on time. She has worn it straightened down is like she says, like three times within a 12 week, time span, which which is cool, because sometimes you got that long hair. You just got flex so yeah, the majority of the time her hair is in like a low bun or two braids, and then occasionally she'll walk like a braid out or something so not only is her hair growing, but she is retaining length. She stopped wearing her hair down and she just wore those two protective styles that we just mentioned right and i can see why getting your hair to grow at your shoulders and seeing that it stops and it kind of plateaus. I can see why that's an issue, because, when your hair grows to your shoulders, your hair is rubbing against your shoulders and it's causing that friction so friction on your ends can cause split ins or breakage. So that's why it's really hard to get your hair to grow past that point. It'S always like a problem area for a lot of people, but it's really simple just be consistent with wearing hair and protect the styles and then another thing she mentioned where she was able to get her hair to grow past her shoulders is that she was really Really really consistent with moisturizing her ends and if you go through her page you'll see that she's really good at keeping her hair moisturized and in order to make her protective styles last and moisturize, she used this combo or us putting an ors edge control. I think i used the rs edge control before yeah. We'Ve got the edge controller. Then we've got the pudding. We used to use it to put our hair on the ponytail yeah yeah for her other moisturizer she's been known to use the cream once so. She said: she's used pink hair oil moisturizer ors has an actual cream moisturizer that she's used as well, and she also said cream. Leave-In conditioners, work really well at moisturizing, so the one she used was cream of nature and buttermilk yeah. The creamy ones are the key for like keeping moisture, but in order to get the moisturizers to work, she does seal with an oil and the oil that she raves about is jamaican black, castor oil. Now y'all know we love this oil. She swears by this oil as well, and many of you all are familiar with how it works and how great it is - and this is a constant staple in her hair regime and besides, using jamaican black castor oil to seal in her moisturizers. She does use it in other ways for one she massages it onto her edges and the nape area, which, if you guys know we all, are familiar with this, that that is the hardest area to grow, or they just it just grows slow, so jamaican black, castor Oil is usually like the oil to target those areas. I'Ve done it before and then another thing she does is she takes jamaican black, castor oil and she puts it into her deep conditioner, which i think a lot of people do, that you guys leave comments. All the time telling us that you guys do that i've, never really i've never really put oil. In my deep conditioner. I don't think i have either it's like a pre-food treatment. Yes, but oh yeah, i just use a deep conditioner like an actual mask, so yeah she's getting benefits from it in so many ways, and when i tell you guys, jamaican black, castor oil is the truth when it comes to growing your hair. Another way that she grows, your hair is by using hair vitamins and we can attest to this because we use hair vitamins too, and the one she uses the one that i have used in the past i've. Actually i stopped using it. I need to stop and go back to it, but i've been using collagen. That'S another story. Um the one she uses is the nature of brownie gummies and i love those things. They have a lot of vitamins that work. Well, you were always using yeah. That'S a really great um hair vitamin brand. I couldn't use them because i'm allergic to strawberries yeah, it's just something you want to add to your routine. If you do want to see hair grow as far as trims, we don't know how often she gets them, but we do know she gets them as needed. She'S a huge fan of dust. Things like we are but um as far as like a major trim. Uh she's like us, we just give them like when we see that we need a huge official train yeah. Another thing: if you look at her instagram page, you see that she's into fitness, so we did peep that sweatband that she uses from sally's, because it is the exact same one we use if you guys, saw our gem hair routine video. We love that headband from sally's, it's a sweat, looking headband and it costs like five bucks and we've been using that thing i still wear mine even when i'm not working out because i just like it, but it's really good at keeping sweat away from your edges. So we saw that seriously she's like super dedicated, and i saw some tips that i'm actually going to take away from myself and if you guys look at her instagram page, i wish she had a youtube channel, but her instagram page will do, but she does do She does share a lot, especially her hair, hauls and stuff. So if you want to get some ideas, you can check out her instagram i'll have a link below so yeah. Let us know if you guys use these tips or if you try something new to add to your routine. I know i know yeah comment them down below we'd love to see you guys comments, but yeah. Thank you guys for watching. We love you guys and we'll see you guys next week, bye

Sarah Luv: That’s awesome! I don’t know why people think someone can’t have healthy and long relaxed hair. I’m natural but sometimes I get the urge to go back to relaxing my hair lol

lee benjamin: The secret is. For my hair growth is: protective style, little heat, deep conditioning & Moisturizer.

SadeChampagne: I add neem oil and hibiscus oil to my shampoos, and I add avocado oil and olive oil to my deep conditioners! Another great video ladies ♥️♥️

Kristin Hill: I have been natural since 2011, but dealing with single strand knots and breakage is getting old. I'm seriously considering going back to relaxed. New subbie!

Whitney Cherelle: Yall sure know how to make a girl feel special!! Thank you so much ♥️♥️

LILLIE ANN THOMAS: I’m on a mission starting today (6/28/21) to grow my recently permed short hair on my own. You two have encouraged me that I can GROW it long with a perm, and that genetics isn’t the reason why my hair NEVER grows. I found and watched your first video about taking care of my permed hair after swimming, I’m currently taking swimming lessons and wanted to maintain my permed hair properly. I’ve binged watched your videos and I LOVE them. Thanks for encouraging me that I can grow my permed hair too. Wish me BLESSINGS!

AuthorHollingsworth: I agree with protective styling. My hair is rarely worn straight. Take care of your ends, and keep your hair moisturized. Also, Im a lover of old school hair grease. Love the video!

Bri: Love this series! It's always interesting to see other people's routines and what works for them. Wait... yall are twins and one of you is allergic to strawberries and the other isn't? Woah

Kathleen Harris: I love using castor oil in my deep conditioner. It makes my hair soft and seals in moisture. Awesome video ladies!

R H: My hair was it longest when it was relaxed. My hair likes to be relaxed. Thank you for this video. I feel better since most videos are about natural hair.

JMocha 74: My routine consists of drugstore,Dollar General,Family Dollar,Walmart, and hair stores lol! Only high end hair products I use are the hair oils. Going to try Nature's Bounty hair skin & nail vitamins in the gummies next. ulovemegz just did a video on those vitamins. Nice video ladies!!

riz1738: I love this I take the same vitamins but the orange lemon ones I do the rice water with orange peels and olive oil and after that I put coconut oil and do 4 braids into a bun my hair is growing so much I’ve always had long hair but I just the my hair 2 month’s ago not a lot but enough and already it’s thick and down my back also mayo egg and olive oil is good

[email protected]: Those Gummies Do Work!! I used to take 3 a day! But when I realized they had pork gelatin in them I stopped taking them. I started taking HUM Vegan hair gummies with NO PORK Gelatin in them and they taste good! And my hair is still growing!. Massages help and I have increased my protein because I stopped eating meat 3 yrs ago, my hair was always long and thick but after going meatless my hair got thinner so I had to up my fish and salmon and eggs content. That helped tremendously!!

Lynette Vidal: I love Whitney's hair!! I'm so glad you two are talking about her in your program!

Pat Davis: Hey pretty girls Great video! I also love all of the subscriber comments about their experiences and the various products that they use.❤️

Georgia Fain: I transitioned because I like the versatility of natural hair. But my relaxed hair was really long.

Reggie: I have the ORS edge control. I used it when I installed the braids I'm wearing now. I'm just starting out my relaxed hair journey.

Missy Love: Great video ladies!!!...and really great tips. I will buy whatever works for my hair...high- end or drugstore brand. Lol. I'm still working on finding "that special product". Haha!!! The hair journey is real.

Merri Johnson: Today was the first time I used heat since January 2nd 2020.and my hair was shoulder length. Today I did a length check and it was bra length. I had my daughter trim 3 inches off and it looks so good I plan to use heat again in October. I textlax my hair once a year. But I'm thinking about going natural. My hair has never been this long. I started watching YouTube hair videos in January and started deep conditioning my hair and keeping my hands out of my hair as much as possible which I think did the trick. Thanks for all your tips and tricks.

Tiffani B: Adding melted Mango butter to my Mixchickids conditioner is life for me .and My supplements is Iron and Msm and Oj are GAME CHANGERS finally seeing results!!

Christina Lewis: Man, I wish I had thick, black hair! It looks super healthy and shiny.

Roselind Thomas: I totally agree. Black hair...black relaxed hair can grow. It's all about taking the time....finding the right products that works for your hair. And be consistent.

Marley Hill: I'm part of the genetics crowd. Even if I went to the hair dresser ever week my hair will never grow past my shoulders. I have naturally high porosity, ultra fine 4c strands with slow growth. So say I grow 6 inches a year but I lose an inch through breakage and an inch through trims. That's 4 inches. Let's say my growth cycle is 3 years. That's 12 inches which is shoulder length hair in 3 years without daily stresses, hormonal imbalances and medication. Let's say I lose and inch due to those things. That 3 inches per year. So now I'm down to 9 inches in a 3 year year growth cycle. Some people have stronger and faster growing hair. Regardless of care and nutrition. Now compare a 5 year growth cycle of thick coarse strands that never breaks and grows an inch every month. 12 inches of growth plus a 5 year growth cycle. Let's say an inch every year for trims and damage. That's how people get 40- 55 inch bundles. So if my hair only ever growth 9 inches and I have 75% shrinkage. My hair will always look like it's 3 inches short. That is why people thing black women can't grow hair. Our hair isn't designed to grow down our back. I have friends (white and black) who live in the tropics and they are always cutting off their long hair because it keeps them too hot. The origin of human especially black people in Africa was in the tropical rift valley on the Equator. Too much hair keeps you hot. Too much hair going down your back keeps you hot. Having just enough dense hair sticking up on your head keeps you cool and protects your scalp from sunburn. There is literally no one currently on Youtube with my hair combination of high porosity, strand fineness and 4c pattern hair and slow growth over 16-18 inches of hair.

Sapphire Relaxed Hair: I use castor oil in my moisturizer. I'm a fan at dusting I do a trim when needed as well, can't take vitamins they tend to give me heart pelps Simple is better just find a regiment for your hair if it's working stick to it get a good routine and also you have to stay focused and be consistent. I'm going to visit her page thank you guys so much God bless you❤

Tynesha Morris: I’ve been adding peppermint essential oils to my shampoos for scalp health, I make a hot oil treatment with castor oil coconut oil tea tree oil and vitamin E oil and I been texturized for 2 years now

laduralamayimba: Thanks beauties for sharing, one thing is that I read that washing hair everyday is bad for the hair, but when i was on maternity leave i washed my hair almost everyday it was like watering a tree it grew so much and my head was so full of thick hair.

R Mobley: You can take those hair vitamins now because that brand comes in Raspberry & Orange now with collagen.

SDeNise05: They have an orange flavor of those Hair, Skin & Nails gummies w/ collagen if you want to try those Eboni. I just bought some!

Candiblue: Well I just big chopped to start all over again or maybe I might choose to keep it short glad that she used regular products and not that expensive stuff it’s great for my budget!!

mouse & pumpkin: What is your guys haircare routine/ wash day routine? It'll be really cool to show. I love wash day vids so relaxing.

jazyaka: Be careful with Jamaican black castor oil. Per my dermatologist it has an irritant in it. It made my hair fall out. Just be careful.

aqualuv99: Have you ever added conditioner to your relaxer .

Yolande Jackson: I'm going too check the gym hair routine out. I want too silk press. Very Well be Safe.

Wanda Bailey: I start seeing grow when I added peppermint oil to castor oil. For every ounce of castor I add 1 drop of peppermint oil put in a applicator bottle shake it up use the tip of applicator bottle to part my hair and oil my scalp with castor oil and the peppermint oil and after oiling my scalp I massage my scalp for 6 minutes 2 minutes int the back 2 minutes on the sides and 2 minutes in the front and top I am seeing tremendous growth when I do this my new growth is so thick I oil my scalp with this twice a week but I massage my scalp every nite before I go to bed

Cece: Heavy oils even beeswax i love using thay on ends because then i can feel those horrible single strand knots and cut them away when i feel it

TheCarnivoreSoprano: A lot of it is genetics, not to mention balanced diets and hormones. You can have the best routine in the world and your hair may not grow.

Tracey Lennon: Hello Hydration and Creme of Nature Argon are great products!!!

KndnssStrvationNRspnseIndpendncy: love it
