Ep. 27 Sisterlocks Self Reti 6 Weeks | Sisterlocks Journey | Let'S Journey

All right so we're just gon na do a quick retightening because we couldn't get to lee this month, so i'm gon na be using the universal lot tool, and this right here is linked on my link tree. So y'all can go check that out. I really like the flexibility of it. I'M going to be using the medium-sized one, this one right here, small medium and a large tool in the kit, and so i have this one right here that i'm going to be using. So i'm really just like right now, not too far. I think maybe we're at maybe about six weeks out. I think was the last time i've seen her, but with my schedule i just wasn't able to get in so i'm just gon na you know kind of. Do a not a full on retail, but just something to hold me. Over till i can see her again, which i do pretty good on my retinas for myself now, although your arms will hurt, that's the only kind of downside to the whole thing not being able to see the back, i know some people will use like that. 360 mirror i haven't, purchased one myself, but i mean if it works, that's really great, especially for i know a lot of men use it to cut their hair. It rains so bad here in georgia today and it came out of nowhere. I was not aware that it was supposed to rain like that, but it did so we're doing uh. You see what i just did not paying attention. I kind of tried to combine two. So with me. I try to use like the padding of my thumb, to allow me to not go into another lock for the most part. I really like this tool, because i can i mean i'm. I don't really have to look at threading it i mean i just go in and just do it, but i kind of use the padding of my thumb to make sure i'm not going into another lock and also i'm kind of far not far away from the Mirror, but not super close that does help when you're close up like a four point rotation right here, just because i want it nice and neat, and it does make a difference like if you can do the front part and i'm not going in any particular order. I should you know north south east west, that next time lee gets it. It'S not a complete bush, because i've done that too many times to her, and i really just need to set aside the time and do my locks when i can. Even if it's just a little bit of time, this thing with self-retiring you you have to set a schedule, because if you don't - and you are kind of doing it in between a loctition you'll kind of mess them up or end up paying more because you're off Schedule, but we're just we're just going to try to get our lives together, because we be working with me a little bit too much and i need to meet her halfway. What'S up buddy be tightening my hair? Oh i'm about to have a middle schooler this school year. Let me know down below what grade you guys's kids are going to. If you do have children, if you don't, then you don't have to worry about registration or anything or the summer, almost being over. Oh, that little piece of hair, i'm not going to try to we'll see if we can catch it, because it's kind of on its own, oh and then, as far as the locks that have to be reinstalled, i have been doing good with those. I don't think i had any well. I did. I feel like the one on, like my nape slipped out, that she had reestablished and we're just trying to make sure that they are good and strong. Before we put the other locks that did come out on because we don't want to just continue to snap without having the strength that they need to hold an additional lock. If you get to where you feel as though you're combining one stop. And if you can pull it back out like this one right here, i was about to come back. Combine that too. If you can just undo that rotation. That would be great if you've made it too tight to where you can't get it out. I would personally even you can kind of snap it like that. I know that's, probably not the best way to do it, but that's kind of what i do or you can just take some really fine scissors and then cut that piece, but sometimes snapping. It is not horrible because your locks will try to marry each other. Sometimes at least i know mine, don't as much my mom's will, so we will go and use like some really thin scissors to just make sure her grid is still intact. I think loctitians use some kind of tool. I don't know what they use honestly, but if you have some that really marry each other, let me know what do you prefer to do when it comes to re-tightening, if you're, if you are still retaining these scissors or you kind of just start it with the The clip because i know sometimes i'll use a clip and have parts sectioned off or do you use a tool to kind of separate it? Do you use a comb? What is it that you use? I think we're gon na be good and straight really, but i got ta lie at the back. I'M probably not gon na touch, not even gon na lie about that. I'M not gon na touch the back at all, just because it's more work to try to see that, and i i just can't the only way that has really worked for me and i think, maybe only for sure, less than five times is when my mom sectioned Off with the rubber bands, and then i could feel that rope in the back and i had no problem, you know tightening that portion up. So even on this side, i'm doing four, but the way i'm trying to end the rotation matches my part. So i'm ending it down this way, so it'll lay nice and neat where the part goes. So, if i had like a side part, i would make sure all of the locks are laying down this way and in my rotation in which the lock is laying. So i don't want to for this part, i wouldn't want to end a lot going that way, because my part doesn't lay that way. I can't believe it's been six years six years, what in the world? How did that go by so fast, especially when i have people say: okay, they maybe just started their lock journey and they don't know exactly how their lives are gon na look, i don't think we all know. We just have an idea of what we want it to look like, especially if you have lock crushes and it completely turns out different and takes its own form. Also, my sister started her lot journey, but don't get too excited, don't get too excited. She doesn't have sister lock, she has traditional locks, which they look so good and i say, don't get excited because she probably won't. Let me bring her on the world wide web. At least it may take a little bit of convincing, but i still doubt she will also still haven't got my grandma on here and i think she's at well for sure. At year, one with her logs and she's died hers. They look really good. I might insert a picture if i get her consent. Someone is asking me who she goes to so she was going somewhere in noonan, but she doesn't go anymore now she's going to this lady right here. If you want to screenshot it, because i'm not trying to edit so much so this is who she's going to right now, instead of in the noonan area, so apparently she's in tarleton. So it's not far from here at all. So if you're in that area check her out and the dude is still on his life journey, he is. Is he in two years? I didn't even keep track when he started. I need to just know they're not that bad, because the new growth isn't out of control and if i can do one full rotation, that's when i know i'm on track. But when i have to go around this thing three times or so then it's out of control, but if i can do just one full rotation, then i'm fine now when it comes to doing the ones that are not where my part is directly. I kind of just make sure it's tight, it doesn't have to lay i mean, ideally, you want it to lay a specific way, but it doesn't have to be perfect. In my opinion, i just want to make sure it's nice and neat and the grid is intact, but yeah. This is so flexible too, and i just it's just so flexible. It'S so easy easy to thread and then, especially when you're trying to get that last rotation in you never want the tension to be too tight. So when i'm doing this, i'm not doing it for it to be tight because she'll get you all the way together. But that's not what we're going for right now, we're just trying to maintain like sometimes you can even feel because, like i said, i'm not super close up to this mirror, but you can feel that you didn't even grip the base of the lock and that's what You want to make sure that your entry point is as even as possible. You don't want to just be grabbing a little bit of hair, so i was teased. We did a turks and caicos turn the other day. First of all, i thought i was sick if y'all didn't see that video. Please check that one out, i thought i was sick, but i wasn't uh. Everybody was saying like sinus pressure and i believe it was because i slipped up underneath a fan i mean and the fan was full speed, woke up kind of itchy throat a little bit and i don't sleep up underneath fans because of that reason, but this time I think it was worse because i did so many flights and one day back to back. I think we did three flights that day i just was in bad shape. That was the worst like. I know when some people fly with blocked ears, it's bad. You know when the babies start screaming on the descent or the takeoff. That'S what i wanted to do. That'S what i felt like it was really just a bad situation all together, but i took some. I had went to get some afrin and then i had again thought i was sick, did mucinex and like y'all i was just emergency. I didn't know what was going on but coming to find out. I wasn't really like sick. It was just that pressure. So now i will keep the afferent in my bag just in case, because that really did help it really kind of relieved that pressure a little bit and then i think i was getting some more recommendations. I have to really go look, but that is not fun. So don't ever fly if you have too much pressure, if you can help it also, some people go in just like a circle when they do the re-tightenings. I guess there's a right way to do it y'all. To be honest, take my advice. Lately, i'm not a professional, i'm just a girl out here on the world wide web sharing my journey so take it with a grain of salt. I just do what i can that's, where we're at with this whole situation. This is an amazing cup. I love it. They also come in a hot pink, but i haven't been able to see, find the hot pink at target, so i may have to order it online, but i love this. I'Ve been trying to find like all of the cool starbucks study ones, so if y'all ever see one in an airport or somewhere near your starbucks, if they do a new release, please send it to me i'll catch up you. I don't have them like whatever we need to do. I got the hot pink one. Let me show you, so this is the the shorter one, how many ounces? This is 16 ounces, and this right here is 24 ounces. This is by simple modern from target simple, modern, 24 ounces from starbucks, and it also comes in a hot, pink one, and then this one is the 16 ounce starbucks that it. I think it's considered dragon fruit color, but my favorite color. So i've been on the hunt for all of the studded ones. I see this uh dark green studded, one not impressed like. I see it so much and i don't know if it's just not selling really well, but i don't want that one. So if y'all see any other ones, let me know i just can't get to them fast enough and i'm not about to purchase one when people resell it. It'S not that serious to me. Nothing is ever that serious for, like a resale up in the price. No we're not doing it. Ass is already too high, so you think i'm about to buy a starbucks cup for double the rice. Some people start theirs. This short, don't they i mean if she was able to start mine, some people, i'm sure start theirs. That short or even like this one right here, which i twist it to another lock so it'll just stay put somewhere start. There'S this short and that's okay. I just don't happen to already have anywhere from 11 to 13 inches when i started it cost me that so honestly, when you're starting shorter, you might be financially winning so don't hate, but i started so mine, natural hair, blown out and stuff was like shoulder length. I believe, but then, when we got established it shrunk and then, as they really started, to walk they kind of shrunk up a little bit more, but that that stage was it that kind of was the stage. Let me talk and re-tighten you see it. You see it over there being disrespectful, because i was able to really get my bang. I was able to wear my side part. I don't wear my side, part anymore, because my bang is just too long thanks, y'all, that's what i'm talking about my suit this. This is what i'm talking about. Somebody said they can't understand me sometimes with my accent, but i don't think i have a southern accent, but apparently i do so. This is just too long for a side part for me right now, but when it was shorter and it hung different, i really loved it. I was like. Oh, i can't wait till my hair gets longer and bra strap length, just wait on it. It happened so bad. Well, i mean six years isn't like fast considering time frame, but i mean it's like a promise we are here yeah. I just want to kind of pop in show y'all that i was doing this retaining i'm gon na try to focus get at least one side done, and it's really easy to do.
