Flat Twist Protective Style| Relaxed Hair

Hey guys! In this video I share how I do my flat twist protective style. I love wearing this style when I’m stretching my relaxer because my new growth gives me so much volume and texture for my flat twist. You guys know protective styling is a hugh part of my healthy hair regimen, so I thought I would share.
This is a great daily style, perfect for an event and for the Holiday season! Of course, this protective style keeps my relaxed hair moisturized as my ends are safely tucked away = length retention! Hope you enjoy!!

Hey guys welcome back to my channel so in this video i'll be sharing with you, my flat twist protective style um, and i typically do the style when i'm stretching my relaxer. When i have a lot of new growth and as you guys can see, i am about 12 weeks post relaxer yeah, that's a lot of new growth. So right now i'm going to moisturize and seal with the as i am so much moisture moisturizer. I love this stuff. It'S extremely moisturizing, very hydrating on my strands. It really smooths out my hair, so i'm just going to run this through in sections right now, i'm going to be using big sections just for the sake of me protective styling right now, but when i'm actually moisturizing and sealing, i go into smaller sections. So now i'm going to seal my hair with jojoba oil. I absolutely love jojoba oil. You guys have seen me use this numerous times, so i just take this and seal my ends as usual in big sections, of course, and just ensure that every area is covered. Now that my hair is moisturized and sealed and detangled i'm going to move on to parting, my hair, so i always like to do a deep side part for this particular style. I find that with a flat twist and a nice side part it really gives off a classy look. So i'm just parting, my hair, all the way around. I don't really do neat parts because once the style is complete, you don't really see the parts anyway. So i just part wherever i can see and have enough hair to actually make the twist nice and full okay. So for my twist, the way i do it is that i take two parted sections um. Nothing too neat because you're not really going to see the parts, but i just part off two sections and then i begin to overlap the first strand over the second and then i continue to do that, while gathering more hair. So as i continue to go down um the side of my hair, i just gather more hair and i also ensure that i comb through the hair with my fingers, so it doesn't get matted or tangled or anything like that, but um with time. Obviously you get it down, pat, it took a while for me to master doing a flat twist is not that easy, but with time, obviously it becomes easier. So i continue twisting all the way down to my ends. So now that my flat twist is complete, i'm going to include it in my ponytail, rather than pinning it down using several bobby pins. I find that this method is the easiest for me at least, and then i loop it around about three times just to ensure that it's nice and secure. So i have some loose strands coming out of my flat twist, but that's okay, we're going to pin that away. You won't even see it. So i just take a couple bobby pins and just pin those hairs down and, of course, just fluff up the twist after you're done the fluffier and the more volume the better. So now i'm going to use my care care edge, tamer to lay down my edges and just to ensure that there's no flyaways this product is pretty good. I find that it gives a really good hold and it really lays down my edges nicely and it doesn't give off any residue whatsoever. Now we're going to move into spicing it up a little bit and i'm going to add some hair jewels to my twist. So i'm just going to place them randomly. I'M only going to use a couple, maybe four or so um all throughout my hair, just to give it a nice little spiced up vibe, you know and then i'm just going to twist the ponytail you guys know. I always do like a two-strand twist um to form a nice little bun at the back and that's it. I'M gon na roll it around tuck it in boom. We'Re done super easy super simple! You can rock this every day to an event over the holidays. Whatever you like, so here's, the final look um.
