Other People'S Opinions Of My Long Hair - Long Haired Man'S Journey

Hey everyone how's everyone doing today. My name is sam. Welcome to my channel all right so today i wanted to talk about my uh hair progress, my hair growth progress and how it is going, and i actually before i forget - because i don't want to forget this. Let me ask this now: i actually had a question for people to put like in the comments or whatnot. So if you were to see me on the street right because, like i'm, i'm used to seeing myself um every day in the mirror but like if you were to see me on the street. What would your impression be as far as like my hair length goes? Would you be like, like oh, his hair is like kind of long, but not that long or would you be like? Oh, his hair is like like really long. I'M just i'm curious to hear your. You know just what the what another person's opinion would be on. My hair length, obviously you know i like i like the long hair um. One thing that i kind of wanted to talk about which i guess i'll kind of talk about in this video too, is just different um, maybe judgments that people make on you for being for being a guy with long hair um. I won't maybe get into that too much in this video, but i'm just like i'm always i'm kind of curious because, like i'm probably more of a conservative person than someone might think when they initially look at me like, i feel like people might look at me And they might assume that i'm more, like you know this huge party, animal or something or i i don't know i don't know, but not all of the judgments are necessarily negative, like some people might think that i am in a band or something like that which Which i'm not, but i mean that's, you know i see you know i i get why they might think that, like i mean it's, not an unflattering stereotype but um i don't know, but i i definitely i like having long hair and i know that there are People out there who just they don't like it when men have long hair, so i feel, like i don't know i i don't want to say i feel like i get judged a lot, but i always kind of gage on you know like if i feel like Someone doesn't like me if that has something to do with it or whatnot, like i'm, not self-conscious about it. I'M not. I want that to come across in a way where i'm like. Oh they don't like me, but it's just it's something that i think about like. I um because i feel like when people see me my hair makes like you know it's like something that you definitely notice. Basically, anytime you're a guy and you have long hair like that's something that people are going to notice about you, whether whether they like it or not, some people like it some people, don't like it um, but whether they like it or not, like that's something that Is going to stand out about you, and i like that, i i like that. Actually, that's not the reason why i grew up my hair is to stand out like i mean, even if every other guy you know had hair, that was like super long. I would still you know this is this is what i want like i just it's like my. How do you say it's just you want what you want right so like this is what i want, whether it's, whether most guys have it or most guys, don't. I feel like there are a lot more men nowadays than there were maybe like say 10 years ago, or so who do have longer hair a lot of them have kind of undercuts or whatnot, which i don't um. I it's not that i hate those, but i just you know i like having all of have my headphones in too um. You know i just i don't want to undercut my hair because i like having as much as my hair, i guess as i can plus my hair is kind of fine and a little bit on the thin side. It looks, doesn't look super thin right now. I feel like i, it kind of looks thicker, sometimes than what it may actually be, which i'll show you what it looks like in a ponytail, because that'll kind of show the thickness of it but um. But i like that it tends to look a little bit. Thicker, so let me do that real quick and then i will um. I don't know why i feel like i have to do this in every video to show you what it looks like pulled back. So this is my hair right now, okay, this is it all. This is it all it's all pulled forward. This is. This is pretty much how i wear my hair like when people see me. This is my favorite way to wear it um. I don't know i just i do that so when i have it pulled back, though i have been pulling it back a lot more the longer it gets, the more that i do tie it back, which i really i like doing that so here let me show You all right, so this is what my ponytail looks like you see my cat leo, hey leo hi um, so you can see for thickness wise what it looks like, okay, so a lot of guys who wear their hair long. You know they have thicker hair than what i have not all of them, but like some of them do um, but you know i, i have a full head of hair, it's just not as thick as maybe um. You know. I wouldn't i like the hair that i have, but i wouldn't mind if it was a little bit thicker so yeah. This is what my hair looks like pulled back. Obviously, i always try to make sure i get like the sometimes i have some frizzies on my part line or whatnot, but yeah, usually you know, usually when i'm out. I don't think this looks bad. Actually, i usually feel like i look better with my hair down. Some people i mean some people disagree some people, the only thing is which okay, if you're a guy with long hair, who wears your hair back, i'm curious to hear if you get this or not like. Sometimes when i do have my hair back. Okay, like let me do it like this, actually one comment that i feel like someone might say is: okay, all right, so you can't see any bun or anything right now. So one comment that someone might say you know when, like someone has their hair back like this, you know you might get that. Oh, my gosh, you look so good with short hair. You should cut your hair like that or whatever which it's kind of like that's. Like irritates me, it's like, i don't think this looks bad like i don't think it looks. I don't think i would look bad with short hair. It'S just it's not what i want like. I don't think it looks better than the way that my long hair looks some people might some people might think it does, but i don't know, do any of you guys out there ever get those kinds of comments, and if you do, i'm just curious to hear What you um, like your response, back to it or whatnot so anyway, like i, don't think it looks bad, i mean, but you know i like you know. I think this looks good too. I mean like so yeah as far as goal length goes. I really want to get my hair as long as it'll get like. I want to see what the terminal length will be for my hair, how long it will grow. I'M hoping that it'll be pretty long. My tentative goal has kind of been waist length just to kind of have some gauge of like how long i want it to be um. But again my hair is fine and it's i have a full head of hair, but it's a little bit on the thinner side. I have dealt with hair loss in the past, which i um. You know, i'm happy that i was able to overcome that. But that's something i just kind of keep and you know i just kind of keep that in the back of my mind like i don't want to be um naive, like trying to accomplish something that is going to be unrealistic for me to accomplish um, but then A lot of people, you know if you saw what my hair looked like three years ago or you know, give or take even more even less than three years ago. A lot of people would like not even think that i could have hair that's this length. So i don't want to like cut myself off either from you know. If my hair can get down to my waist and look good, then you know with thickness and everything, then that's definitely something that i that i want to do so. I do see some other guys, which i feel like i mentioned, that this in a lot of my videos. I see some guys that have hair down that even goes past their waist. Some of the ends kind of taper off, which i like i like. The look of that um, you know because it's kind of like once you reach your terminal length. It'S usually not a blunt line. It'S usually it's kind of some hairs grow this long and some hairs will get a little bit longer. So that's kind of that natural taper at the ends, which i like the way that looks like i've seen a few guys. Some of them have hair. That'S like down past their waist. Some of them even have it like to their knees - maybe maybe not quite, but it's like a lot of the last few inches are kind of that um just taper off, but i like how that looks. So i'm thinking - okay, what's you know like if my hair would do that? Would that be something that would that be something that my hair would do? And then my biggest thing is i'm like okay, they have hair that, like they're, starting with hair. That'S a lot. Thicker than mine is already so i'm trying to gauge what that would look like for me. You know like, would it be better once my hair gets to a certain length you know to where it reaches terminal length and starts to taper off? Would it be better for me just to keep it at that base terminal length, hey leo um, you know, or should i would i be okay if i allowed for some of that natural taper, so that's kind of what i'm trying to figure out, but i feel Like that's going to be a few years from now, actually, just because my hair is it's long, but you know, hopefully i have hey hey buddy. I do have pants on by the way. These are just kind of a flesh tone, so um just in case anyone was like whoa bro, uh yeah. So that's kind of my thought process where i'm at right now, but overall, i'm really happy with it. Honestly, i'm just i'm really happy. You know trimming it helped it feel good. So i definitely think i'm gon na keep trimming it every six months or so - maybe not even quite every six months, maybe like once a year or something like that six months to a year kind of when within that ballpark, depending on how it feels, because i I did not have to take a lot of hair off for it to just feel a lot better and i didn't even take like every single split end off my hair, because i just i didn't want to cut that much off. You know i was like trimming. It and i was like looking at it like there was still some split ends left, but i'm like i didn't want to cut off any more than i already cut off. So i do uh really make effort to just really take good care of my hair. As far as you know, like shampoo condition, leave-in conditioner leave-in conditioner is one of my biggest things just to keep my hair as healthy as i can and keep any split ends at bay um. No, i'm just i'm really, i'm really happy with it. Honestly, i really my cat. He had that like burst, of energy, where he just like, ran out, but um yeah. No, i'm just i'm really happy with it. I'M happy that i've made this progress and i'm definitely looking forward to what additional progress i'm gon na have with this and then my goal, which i don't know. If i i tried to film this video once so. I don't know if i said this in this video or that first video, but just in case my goal with my hair, a lot of men when they well, i shouldn't say a lot but some men when they grow out their hair. They grow it out and then they you know their intention is to grow it really long and then cut it like cut it all off or like cut it really short or whatnot to donate that or just or not even to donate or not to donate. Just to do it, that is not my goal like at all um. I mean it's not like a bad thing. If that's what someone is doing, you know, that's definitely not a bad thing, but no. My intention for my hair is to keep it long um. So definitely keep it like uh, you know get it as long as i can kind of what we talked about before and just keep it at that length um that would hey leo hey. No, that would make me like pretty depressed, actually like to have the thought of, like you know, having hair that was like super long and then have like cutting it off like that, would just nah. I would not be i'd not be happy about that so, but some people might joke with me um, which i feel like a lot of men with long hair. Probably this is probably something that we hear a lot, but like a lot, some people might joke with me about like getting you know getting a haircut or you know like they want to see me cut all my hair off or something like that, and so it's Kind of like i don't know if it's a joke, then that's like kind of okay. If it's like kind of like brotherly like you know, someone's joshing you or whatever. I don't know this. I feel like that's like an old people term like oh he's, just joshing, but i don't know. That'S like what came to mind. You know that's like one thing: if it's like kind of that kind of joke, but um some people just do not like guys with long hair, which kind of it kind of makes me like um. I don't know what the word is like want to. Like kind of rub it in their face even more, that's not the best way to say it, but it just kind of makes me want to be like i mean whether someone likes my hair or not, i'm going to do what i want to do with it. I'M not going to do something with it, just to spite someone obviously, but it kind of makes me like it does not make me insecure. Like that's the thing i want to say like if someone's like. Oh, i don't like the long hair. I think you need to cut about you, know 10 inches off or whatever i don't know kind of it kind of like um. I don't like it doesn't make me feel bad. It kind of ignites me just to like keep keep doing what i'm doing, i'm not saying that the best, but anyway um. I will go ahead and end this here, but yeah tell me what you think um you know. As far as if you were out on the street, and you saw me, you saw my hair length right now, just kind of what it looks like. Would you be like whoa his hair is like really long or would you be like? Oh it's just i don't know just kind of long, so just curious to hear someone else's opinion on how they would gauge my my hair length. So all right.
