Hey guys, so i am making this video because i am chopping all of my hair off into a pixie cut, and i wanted to make this like a whole kind of transformation video. I guess so. I wanted to make this whole intro to this video, just kind of explaining like why i'm cutting my hair, my thoughts about it. My anxieties, just my feelings and just kind of like everything in general. Honestly, i feel like chopping. Your hair off is just like. It'S a big decision to make and i was trying to look on youtube and just try to find other videos like this when i'm making like people's before and afters. Why they're doing it - and i found a couple, but i couldn't really find like a lot and i really thought there would be more pixie cut transformation, videos out there on the internet, but there wasn't so here i am making my own. So let's talk about my hair and why i'm chopping it off. So i kind of have a couple reasons why i want to get rid of my hair. The biggest one being is like i'm just sick of my hair. Like i'm just sick of having this amount of hair, i have naturally pretty wavy curly hair like a 2b. I think that's pretty straight right now, because i ran a straightener through it earlier um and having curly wavy hair is just so much work to deal with. You know if you have a curly, wavy hair. You know exactly what i'm talking about, but it's like. We can't just shower and brush our hair and let it air dry and go on with our day like you just can't. There are so many steps that go into making curly hair look good and i'm just kind of over it, and that doesn't mean i hate my natural hair texture like i would have curly hair any day over straight hair. Like i love my hair texture, but i just want to switch it up and i have a lot of hair like my hair is thick it's about down to there and i'm so over it that i wear it in a bun. Ninety percent of the time i almost never wear my hair down, because i always just want it out of my face, i'm always doing a low bun, a high bun. Just i want it out of my way. You know and like i've learned to always keep a scrunchie on me, because this is just so much to work with, and i don't want to deal with it anymore, and i remember one day just being in the shower brushing my hair with conditioner in it. As i do every time i wash my hair - and i was literally crying because my hair was like so tangled - i was just so annoyed with having to brush it, and i was like i don't want to do this for the rest of my life and i've Always said like oh i'm going to chop my hair off, you know just kind of like a jokingly way when you're annoyed with your hair, and then i was thinking like i i can do this like this is my hair and my choice. I can chop my hair off whenever i want to, and i also want to add that this is not an impulse decision. I have thought about this for so long like i was scrolling back through my pinterest and i have pinned short hair pixie cuts since like high school, so i've always loved the look of it. I just never really thought i could pull it off. I think it was a day i was crying in the shower. It was also during my period that was happening because i was like pmsing crying in the shower, and i went to my boyfriend and i was like i'm so sick of my hair. I'M chopping it off and then i was being like reasonable with myself like okay, let's, let's think about this before we make any kind of appointment, and so i waited a couple days kept thinking about it, and i just i could not stop thinking about cutting my Hair off, like i literally think about it, every single day of how freeing and i think, excited i'll - be to have short hair. I'Ve been thinking about doing this seriously for about two months now so every single day i think about having short hair and how just nice, i think, it'll be so yeah. I just wanted to let you know that this is not an impulsive decision. So after i kept like thinking about it for so long, i found someone on instagram to cut my hair. Their name is eddie um they're in portland, and they do really fun like fashion colors. They do lots of like mullets and shags, and i want very textured pixie shaggy wavy messy looking because i don't like nice, looking hair like when i wear my hair down, i'm always like tossing it, and i just want it to be big and so and they Have short hair themselves, and so i know they can do fun colors. I know they can do. Textured looks and they've done pixies before so i found them on instagram and i had a book a consultation with them because they require that for new color clients, and so i was so nervous to book the consultation appointment, but i booked it. I met with them. We kind of talked about the plan for my hair, and that was two weeks ago. So ever since that appointment, i've just been waiting for the day, i'm getting my hair cut. I should mention i'm filming this four days before i get it cut, because i know if i try to film this, like the day of, i would just be an anxious mess. I mean i'm still anxious like talking about it, but it's not like the day. It'S happening, you know the reason why i want to cut my hair off. Is that, like, i just don't feel like myself anymore, like i look in the mirror, and i see this hair and it's like it's just not doing anything for me, and i should add that i hate the pink in my hair, and this is like no hate To my stylist, who did it like? I love her, but i should not have done pink in my hair because i hate warm toned hair on myself and i should have known that going into this, because i have dyed my hair purple blue, a weird shade of green, but every oh i've been blonde Before i've been silver, i've been different shades of brown and every single time i get my hair done. I ask for cool tone brown cool tone, blonde silver purple blue. You know cool tone colors, and there was one time i don't remember what it was. I had purple hair with pink hot roots and i hated the pink hot roots. So when i got this idea for pink hair, i don't know why. I didn't think about how i hate warm hair myself. I know some people love the pink and i love like the like the halo shape. We did with the pink how it's kind of like throughout here um, but i just wish i didn't do pink so like every time i see myself in the mirror, i'm just like. I don't like it. I don't feel pretty, and so i just want to change it all completely honestly, so you might be asking angela, why don't you just like cut your hair to chin length? And, yes, i could do that. The reason why i don't want to do short hair is because i'm just going to be angry, that i can't put it up into a ponytail, and that was my boyfriend's idea he's like just do it like to your chin, and i was like no. I think i want it all off, because if i'm frustrated that i can't put it up, i'm just gon na hate, my hair, even more, but speaking of putting it up. I wanted to add that i love the way my face looks when my hair is about my face, like i like to pull these ones down and, like i feel so pretty like this, like i like how my face looks. My jaw looks my this. This that's. Why i think i'm gon na, like the pixie, because i like how my face - looks like this? I know this is not gon na resemble a pixie cut, but this gives me an idea of how i think it'll look. You know, i'm also really excited to do like cool makeup looks with short hair, because i feel, like your makeup is just going to pop more when you have less hair you know, can we just talk about like how bad my roots are right? Now too, it's been eight weeks since i've gotten my hair dyed and it's kind of my fault, because i was so nervous to make the first consultation for the hair appointment. So i kept like putting it off as one does and then the more i kept putting it off the more i was like well [, __ ]. I can't dye my hair and then there's no point of dying my hair. Now, if i'm just gon na cut it all off, so i've been like dealing with this crazy root mess. I'Ve been like wearing headbands and like trying to braid it different ways, but part of the reason why i was so nervous to make the appointment is because i felt like i had to get approval from the people around me. The people that are close to me and like tell them that i'm gon na cut my hair off right, like cutting your hair off, isn't even like a permanent thing, but why does it feel so permanent? It'S something you have to like. Warn people that you're doing like i just got my sleeve finished a couple weeks ago, and this is a permanent thing, but i didn't feel like i had to tell people. I was doing it because i did it for me because i wanted it on my body. So why do i feel like i have to like? Tell people i'm doing this and explain why i'm doing it? It just doesn't make sense, but i'm sure if you've gone through this or you are going through cutting your hair off. You can kind of relate to me. I was having such a hard time finding what kind of pixie cut i wanted like. I said. I'Ve been thinking about this for two months, and so when i first got the idea - and i was like i'm gon na do this - i went on pinterest went on instagram just searched up, pixie cuts and there are so many types of pixie cuts out there. I was like how am i gon na find the one that i want, and the hard thing for me too is, i feel, like a lot of pixie cuts are done on like straight blonde hair, and i don't have straight blonde hair, so i'd have to search Like curly pixie cut wavy pixie cut, i also looked up like androgynous and non-binary pixie cuts and that was actually kind of more what i was wanting, because i want that kind of like messy. I keep calling it the floof like. I want to have some floof to be able to style. I have literally spent hours scrolling through pinterest and instagram trying to find what i want, and i think i have the right idea, i'm so ready, i'm so excited. There are some moments where i'm thinking about it and i'm like am i making the right decision and then i go back to my feelings of just being sick of my hair and at the end of the day, it's just hair hair grows back, and so, if I hate it like yeah, that's gon na be kind of shitty and i got ta grow it back, but like it grows back, i can make it work like okay. So that is all of my notes that i had written out of what i wanted to say in this intro. I'M gon na take this out again just to show you my hair. So i'm sorry if that was a lot of rambling. My thoughts are all over the place, i'm a little anxious, but i'm very very excited for this big change and to take you guys along with me. Oh color, wise. I don't want a pink pixie. Obviously i actually want to go pretty close to my natural color and kind of have that throughout and maybe like a lavender or lighter colored floof again, i'm calling it floof. So i think i'm going to end the intro here, which is very scary to me, because that means that next time i pick up my camera to film this it'll be the day of so i will see you the day of my pixie cut and i'm going To try my best to film eddie said i could so i'll see you at the salon. I guess hi. It is the day of the appointment, i'm here already i'm 30 minutes early, because i had to drive from my house and boring all the way to portland. So i'm here super early um it's the day, i'm so i'm really anxious. Honestly, like all day yesterday, i was like doubting myself, i'm like, should i really do this? Am i gon na like it and like i almost didn't, want to do it, but then, just today i'm super excited. I did my makeup all pretty. I got like this cute little dress on so i can't believe this is it and then i did wash my hair for like the last time yesterday i was washing it in the shower and i was like oh my gosh. This is the last time i'm washing my crazy hair having to brush it and deal with it. So we're doing it. This is such a big change, but i think i'm ready for it. Let'S go sure doing it. Do it just go for it yeah. So i'm just gon na quickly voice over this part, mostly because i mean it was a long appointment. It was like an hour long and there was music playing in the background and i don't want to get demonetized so here i am so pretty much. We cut all the hair into a bob just to make it easier to color and for color wise. We didn't book enough time for this appointment, which is honestly my fault and my biggest thing was to get rid of the pink. Obviously so we just covered up the pink with purple, which i'm totally fine with i love having purple hair. So we kind of have a plan to next time. Work on the color more use like some color remover, get rid of the darkness and go as close as possible to my natural color all over. So that's why you'll see my hair not really much different, just with purple in the front, but honestly, i'm totally fine with that and then pretty much eddie just went around and chopped off all my hair and pieces. I mean there's not really much for me to say this, isn't like a how to do a pixie cut video. You know so yeah. I just sat there. I was pretty nervous. We talked about ways to style it. We decided to go natural, so any kind of scrunched up my hair, and then they did finger curls throughout my whole head, which i've never done before, because i've always had so much hair to deal with that. I thought finger. Curling would take forever, but it actually turned out super cute and i love the way my curls looked with the finger curls. So i might do that in the future. So we finger curled like all the floof on top of my head and then we diffused it did some scrunching, and that was it. That was my hair appointment. Oh my god, it looks so good on your curly hair. Good, i'm glad you like it. Oh, my god, thank you what the [ __ ] holy, i don't even know what to feel right now guys like what do i do with this? This is my hair. Okay, can i just say how good it feels to have like nothing. Touching me back here, like oh feels so good on my neck, and it's like hot out today, it's like in between a bob and a pixie, and we did my natural curls, as you guys saw all right. I thought i would just finish this video outside because it is so nice out right now. Sorry if it's kind of noisy, but here is what my hair looks like. It has been three or four days since i got it cut now, and here it is. I wanted to film this outro after having the cut for a few days, so i could like really get my final thoughts together and how i feel about it. My overall thoughts is that i love that i cut it short. I can't tell you how good it feels to have no hair like touching my neck, and my shoulders like it feels like my hair is like up all the time i just have to deal with kind of this floof right here. I do think i wish we cut it a little bit shorter, our appointment. I wish i booked more time for the appointment, because their next client was already there like, as we were finishing up, so there wasn't much time to do any finishing touches, but sometimes i feel like it's a little too bob like for me and not as pixie Cut and like if i wear my hair, like this in the middle, which i try not to do, i feel kind of like little lad. Lord farquaad vibes. So i'm always trying to like toss my hair to one side um. It kind of just alternates back and forth, because i, like my hair to be pretty messy looking, so i think what i want to do next time is cut it shorter and maybe do more of an undercut around here like i would like a little bit more Of my ears to show and just a little less of a bob, but i love that it's short, it is so freaking easy to work with like like my morning. Routine is so easy. Now i can get my hair wet in the shower every day and either let it air dry diffuse it blow dry it smooth. Today, i just let it air dry and like every day, i'm kind of playing around with a different uh, like mixture of products using a curl gel or a cream, or an oil, and just doing different things with it. So it's really fun to play with it. I think that's all kind of part of getting a new haircut like i was saying i want my hair shorter, but it's because i don't know what style i like best and that's the same thing with long hair. You know you get your hair long and you find the right style that works for you, so i think i'm still trying to find it like i'm, not in love with it, but i do love that it's shorter and just so easy to work with. So i think that is going to wrap up this video, and that was my short pixie haircut transformation, so i'm so excited to start doing some like hair styling videos, maybe like products that are good for short hair kind of videos and just play around with it. Instead of crying for detangling, I was crying because it was thinning and falling out. So I shave it off. I keep going back and forth with an even shorter pixie that i xM really play with and make piecy. I just want a change but my husband and daughters are all like dont cut it.. they dont get it my hair is a pain in the ass. Fine hair but lots of it and naturally curly too and humidity destroys anything i do to my hair. No hair products last in my hair either. I got 4 haircuts in 30 days and just got lucky on the last one I went to a barber shop and his wife came in it was close to closing and he asked if it was ok if she cut it and yay. I loved it and found my stylist! I do have a suggestion if a stylist wants to texturize your hair just taking the side of the scissors and skidding or sliding it down your hair tell them to stop, it's just instant split ends. I hate washing mine so much that I was triggered when you spoke about crying in the shower, trying to comb it. I go to my hairdresser once a week and she washes and styles it because I can’t stand doing it. I got a keratin treatment recently and should have done it ages ago!! It doesn’t straighten your hair but it smooths it so now I get zero frizz, even when it’s s humid. It’s the best.
