Hey guys, I did this voluminous ponytail with mini twists a while back. I know some of you don't wear a mini twist, so I wanted to show you that it can also be done on free hair. This style is perfect for those days when your twist out just doesn't look good or you want the hair out of your face for comparison. Here'S what my normal ponytail looks like pretty full but kind of short. So let's get some length back start by separating your hair in half securing the top out of the way grabbing a ponytail holder, the same color as your hair gather. All the hair on the bottom section together hold gently at the ends to elongate the hair and make sure it doesn't get all bunched up then secure the hair as high as you can into a ponytail release. The top section gather that hair into a ponytail then secure the top ponytail close to where the bottom ponytail starts, to eliminate any noticeable differences in length grab a bit of hair from the top of the bottom ponytail and lifting it gently bobby, pin the hair to The head: this creates the appearance of a more gradual decline in length and do the same for the opposite side then blend the two ponytails together and that's all you need to do to create the illusion of a long and voluminous ponytail. I hope this helps guys bye. You, you

keishanista88: Thanks for the welcome to YouTube . Love this video btw , I've always found ways to make my ponytail look fuller and this is just as amazing . TO ALL OF YOUR VIEWERS :: if you guys ever want to connect with me , check out my channel . I'm new to the natural hair care world as well as YT ,and I'm excited to meet as many of you natural as possible. Lets chat hair , fashion , and girl talk :)

Bree Darcel: OMG ok I just got super emotional coming back to watch this video. Like I'm actually crying a little. You probably won't see this, buuuuut if you do I want you to know that you're my faveeee natural hair youtuber everrrr, because your hair texture is basically the exact same as mine and that really helped give me the courage to learn to take care of my natural hair! I've never had a perm, but I used to always wear my hair straightened and that gave me LOTS of heat damage. The summer after my freshman year of college I decided to stop putting heat in it and learn to take care of it without straightening it. Since then it's been quite the journey. I went through a mini-big chop, experimented with all types of protective styles (I love me some mini twists btw)...I constantly freaked out over growth and shrinkage, (then got over it Lol) and recently using some of your tips I achieved my best most stretched out long lasting twist out ever! When the twist out got a little old i casually used this style, and now that i'm coming back to look at this video I realized my hair is this length and healthy all over! Learning to take care of my hair has been such an amazing beautiful journey, and I want thank you from the bottom of my heart for inspiring me from day 1. If anyone else is reading this and thinking about going natural DO IT, and if you're still learning to love and take care of your hair know that it's ok to get frustrated as long as you keep going! Thanks again Whit! Sending lots of love and light your way =) <3

SistaWith RealHair: Beautiful....I gotta try that!

Alex Josiah: Thanks for this video! I'm 15 and a cheerleader and we have to wear our hair in a high ponytail to every practice. I've never had a perm/relaxer but I used to straighten my hair a lot but now I'm going completely natural so this video is pretty much perfect! <33

Amber Monét: This is awesome! :3 I can't wait till my natural hair gets longer so I can do this.

swagskippinsquirrels: This is so smart! Thank you! I did the big chop a little over a year ago, and I still cannot put my hair into a ponytail without pulling too tightly or without the front sticking out. I hope this will work with my old bantu knot out. So excited to try this once I take this style out! Or maybe even on freshly washed and stretched hair! Genius. #ponytailgirl

NeoYorquina4U: all my years of wearing natural hair and I've never thought of this. Thank you @*****!

Essence of Me: This is one of my daughter's favorite styles. I actually put it in 3 ponytails. Then I make the bottom ponytail a low ponytail. Thanks for the video.

Kennedy Harris: B E A U T I F U L! You inspire me to keep moving through my transition & grow my hair healthy & long like yours ^_^ thanks!

edna sheridan: Beautiful head of hair .....with patience and love she grew her hair

Kanika C: Awesome to see this method on longer hair....I started doing this when my hair was shorter cause I so wanted a ponytail... :-)

Beesexy2: I love love your hair! It has grown soooooo much! Thanks for the tips and encouragement. I am 5 months natural, 1 year and 2 months relaxer free!

Michiko_Wasabi: I know you hear this all the time but I absolutely love your videos. I watch them periodically to keep inspired and motivated on my own natural hair journey.

Amylove318: I just had to come on here and thank you for this tip. I did it on my 3 day old braid out and it worked so well. I was at a conference and my hair was being difficult. Thanks again!

xo_CrystalNicole: Love it! Can't wait for my hair to get to this length.

Stephanie Moore: Ah-hah! Neat trick, can't wait to try this one out, still working on mastering the twist out then on to the voluminous ponytail. Keep up the good work!

makinio: Thank you so much for this video! My ponytails will never look 'blah' again!

funnybones123: Hey! I love how you did this with your own hair rather than adding something else to it. Very creative!

brieea: You inspired me to start my natural hair transition. My hair is relaxed now and I think Im gonna go back to natural. Thanks!

Jo Rhodes: Thank you queen, it definitely helped!

Deanna Dee: I love your hair! It always looks so healthy and shiny :)

WaterFor3st: I always wear my hair in a braid out so it can seem longer(which it is if straightened) then when it's not stretched. I have to try this out. Looks great. Thanks.

heymishi: love this! I always feel inspired to be extra good to my hair after watching your vids! :)

Kjusttheletter: I 3 this. I used to do a similar style while relaxed (my faux pony) Lovely.. Cant wait til I have the length to do it with my Natural Hair :) thx

1022Abstract: You're so good at creating illusions! I love it!

Yvette Kelley: Thanks and a continue congratulations to you.. I see you keeping them coming strong for us natural gals :) Thanks a million for your tips

NaturallySweetTea: My mom did this style on my relaxed hair growing up. She would pull the front together with a small hair clip and bring the rest in with a banana clip and fluff my hair out to cover it. I'll definitely bring out this style when my hair is longer.

Kae J: i do this for my braids that are curled at the ends, it works great :D

tongresa77: gorgeous. i love your hair! it's really full, long, and healthy looking. it grew quickly in just 2.5 short years. wow.

Adaeze Tula: i needed this tutorial soooo much!! thank you!!

focusednow123: Thanks so much for a great tutorial! :)

Kena Peay: What a great trick! Your hair is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

symplisweetly: Great video! This can also be accomplished with a long banana clip! Probably best for those of use whose hair isn't quite as thick as your beautiful tresses!

candriz: thank u so much!! i did this style today and got alot of complements! everyone thought it was one ponytail..it fooled me even!! lol i love this style/look! i did everything u said except pinning the bottom tail to the top..still looked gr8 tho! thanx again :)

Yurrah Al-Hadi: I do this all the time. Now I part my hair in half, braid the front in about 8 braids going back, and leave the back out. With the back I put it into a pony tail, but I do not wrap the scrunchy around, I just put it around my hair. This allow me to keep volume and not having to worry about untangling the pony from my hair. I love doing this style, its quick and easy. Sometimes I leave the back out, and just throw my hijab(head scarf I am a Muslim) over it!

PrettyVeganPrincess: Can't wait to try this. My hair is medium length and I'm having trouble finding a style that I like, but I think I'll love this and rock it for awhile, oh how I wait for the sun to rise =D

prec18: Love your hair~ I've done a similar method with my ponytails just to put a different twist on them.

Everybody's somebody: I want my hair long now!!! Very pretty and I will be doing that style! Cheers!

CocoBombLeche: Your hair is so beautiful!!! I have a question. Whenever I where my hair in a braid-out/twist-out for more than a few days my hair starts to get really dry and prone to breakage. What am I doing wrong? I moisturize with water and some coconut oil but it still gets dry and breaks. Thanks :D

penn2pal: you are amazing... you can come up with the simplest hair style and make it fantastic. Thanks for sharing with us

lalaopera09: Thank you so much!! I never thought about that. I will definitely be using that trick.

Pinkglass: Lovely video! I will definitely be trying this hair style :D

Bell Lorde: I was eye-ing this ponytail in your latest dearnaptural85 video, when you were in the car with Filipe. I definitely will be trying this style, thanks for posting.

Quietstorm91: Nice way of styling a pony tail! Its also less stress to hair this way. Thanks Whit!

nicthommi: @NaturallySweetTea I didn't have relaxed hair as a child, but this was always the "two-ponytail" look that my mom did as well. There was also a version that had one on top and two in the back.

potterylady1: I tried this on my hair. It's not as long as hers but it looked to good!!! :)

Elly P: LOVE! Going to try it tomorrow on my twist out that didn't quite come out right. Thank you! :)

ItsMeCherylG: Girl! My poor little pony puff started crying when it saw your gigantic ponytails. It's feeling better now ... I sprayed some water on it and sealed some shea butter. All better Now! LOL! Nap that hair of yours is truly a Crown and Glory. What an inspiration! Love you sweet girl!

Lady9tails: Your vids are just great. My hair isn't as full as yours but I still love your tutorials.

ArtsyArtist: I love this video. its a very inspiring style. Love it!

queequee2020: i do this to my hair all the time now. I also take a thin head band, put it around ky neck wrap it around then pull it onto my head and put the hair where i want it and my ponytail is even bigger. i love it.

xoxokev31: Ahhhh this is so clever! I'm definitely going to try this. What kind of ponytail holders did you use?

Steebi-Sama: I love how soft your hair looks (and I'm sure it is soft as well lol) .... my hair is rough and tough and I have no clue on how to achieve softer hair! Any suggestions?

WaterFor3st: So I tried it... The best ponytail I ever had! And I usually hate ponytails so thanks!

xthinkplayx: I do this all the time, but I use a small rounded clip for the hair underneath after I twist the whole bottom @ the root. Lifts it up higher & tighter. Sometimes I do 2 underneath the top ponytail.

SpoiledLocGurl: U are so creative! I love the styles u do and this is an awesome tip

Jessica Richardson: Your hair is absolutely beautiful! Huge fan of your videos!

tashigolean22: I already use the two ponytail trick, but I the part always shows. Thanks for the bobby pin tip!

ALYEASE JONES: My style for church in the AM...right on time :) I love both of your channels!!!

diegaah: That's smart! This will help with not putting tensions on the sides. Thanks for sharing.

Kylah Tana: Thanks for making this was really helpful!

Candicesophia1: love it!! I'm trying this tonight!

Indy Peach411: Cute! I can't wait until my hair is that long!!!!

Valerie A: This is great.. I wish my hair was this long!

thinktransnational: you dont have to chop it all off to start over. many go the transitional route. that's what i did. i grew my hair out for an entire year, before finally doing away with the last bit of processed hair and by that time it was a great relief to be fully nature. you can find info here on youtube or google. there are so many cute transitioning styles out there.

RenLostStimpy: This is fabulous! Beautiful hair.

dcgirl919: My hair wants to be like yours when it grows up, lol. Gorgeous hair and nice tips.

trendsgalore: My hair isn't even natural, but there is something so beautiful about your hair...I'm def putting transitioning on my calendar!

IamAbillionaireNow: VITAMIN! wash maybe every 6weeks & co-wash (conditioner wash) every 2 weeks. I find that the less I combed my hair/left it out, the more it grew. So probably do twists or plats or corn-rows, pin that up in various styles, spray moisturizer daily The end of the week you can pull them out & enjoy a nice out-do for 1 or 2 days. Not an expert like many on youtube, but 4about a year was busy so barely washed my hair & braided in4, kept it under hat &scarfs. Decided to style it & was shoulder lenghth

breezy4me1: I really love your hairstyles. They are always super cute. I reaaly enjoy your videos. Kep up the excellent work! :-)

Mimi: I looove the texture you get from your twist outs. !!

Amber Noneofyabusiness: I cut my hair in January of this year and on June have 4 and a half inches of natural growth!! I haven't even moisturized it or anything!!! I am going to start paying more attention to what this woman says so that I can have a ponytail like that too!!!

Asima817: Love this! I use scunci pony holders to get my hair out of the way...

S7arry: I love your hair...makes me excited about mine and when it gets longer :)

MsQstokes: Ok, love your styles & tips, tried the terrasentials & I love it, the only problem is my husband has found that he loves it too. I can't wait to get some lenghth.

wire4mysteries: Love, love this video. Once again another great video. Keep up the good work

msshortysweets: Thanks for the idea, DEFINITELY trying this...like tomorrow! :-D

Sarah Barry: i absolutely love your hair !!! its soo curly and nice !

Alienxmilk: Creative, I love it! Thanks!

Miatta Kangeecard: I love your hair, simply beautiful!

GeminiRN: Great tip!! Thank you!

jessloves123: i love your videos you are such a great help to me on this journey ! thankssss .

welchbrown: Think I found a style for my audition!! :D Thank you so much <3

ObeyElRey: This was perfect ! You ma'am, have a new subscriber .

TT89: Hi biejta, i just thought i'd answer your question. I used to have the same problem. My hair is "protein sensitive" and if yours is as well, than thats the issue..i can only use coconut oil like 2x a week and otherwise i use hemp or jojoba because coconut oil does moisterize but it gives hair small amounts of protein as well. i suggest washing your hair and then sealing with a oil.

MoniMeka P: i love watching your videos. you hair styles are always so cute!

Food Rules: You are so creative, I'm like wow!! That's awesome, thanks for sharing!

MsCCMack: I'm about six months post chop - and it is harder to camouflage this way. but depending on how thick your hair is, you can get the same effect with a banana clip; just try to find one with strong clasps!

Hana Thompson: I have a very similar hair type and hopefully my hair will look at least half as good as yours does when it gets to that length. I will be so happy when its this length.  I love this style.

shekiera6: I love your hair! I saw one of your vids from a year ago and your hair has gotten so long. I as m transitioning from relaxedh hair back to my curly hair but everyone keeps telling me i will never get it back. Hope thats not true. Thx for the vid

sdperry00: How do you come up with this stuff?!!! Love it! LOOOVE your channel!

CoisasdeCasaisVclipe: Já encontrei varios videos bacanas, boas dicas. Só eu sei como é ter um cabelo volumoso....

Brown Girl Reading: What a really clever idea!!! thanks!

sweetasuwtb: awesome video! please tell how many years have you been growing??? I'm at 6" for 1st year and I'm realizing patience is the key.

DrDawnMarie: Fabulous!! Thanks for sharing that. :)

LovingKatina: I love your hair and your videos are always great.

Babycakesora: Neat trick! Super smart! I'm trying this!

Rahelye: omg that is such a great hairstyle, thankyou so much :)

chicknaomi: @sweetasuwtb when i first started i was 6" as well. 1 year later and i'm 15" on average :) and that could have been longer with proper care. trust me Patience is DEFINITELY the key lol but sometimes i misplace mine :P hope you keep up what you're doing

Chi Chi: Your hair has gotten so much longer since I started watching you :)
