Genius Ponytail Hack!!! How To: Longer Ponytail Without Extensions! | Twist Me Pretty

Hey guys!!! I shared this genius ponytail hack back in 2013, before my YouTube channel even existed . You can click here http://www.twistmepretty.com/2013/11/t... to see it's awesomeness haha! While you're there, can you believe that's all my hair?! This was way before extensions... and thick eyebrows. Little did I know in a couple years I'd get pregnant with twins and loose it all. One day we'll get my hair back there guys, one day!

ANYWAY. I felt like it was time to give this awesome ponytail hack it's own dedicated video. It's basically details on how to create a longer and more voluminous ponytail WITHOUT extensions. It takes 2 minutes and it'll elevate your ponytail in all the right ways!

Here's the blog post for more pictures http://www.twistmepretty.com/2018/03/g...

I don't know if you know this but I blog! I started off as a blogger and I've held firm to my roots. I share so much over there so make sure to check it out!

Back to the ponytail, you'll want to start out with some texture or curls ( Curls Tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I5Jq8... ... this needs an update!) but from the post back in 2013 you can see it works find on straight hair too!

What do you think?! Have you seen this hack before? Have you tried it before? Let me know if you'd like to see a beauty hacks video next!

Hey everybody I'm here from twist Mew, pretty it welcome back to my channel, so I have got a ponytail hack for you guys today. I am super excited to share with you. I actually shared this in a compilation video years ago, but I don't think many of you saw it so I kind of wanted to make it its own video, I'm going to show you how to get a more voluminous and longer ponytail without extension. So I hope you guys enjoy this video don't forget to subscribe it down there below I upload every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and I'd love to have your own. So, let's jump into this video first things. First, we're gon na gather two sections from the front and clip them under our chin. These aren't terribly thick sections but watch how I use them later to see just how much you'll need and then also I have really textured curls in right now. So that's gon na help hide all these ponytails we're adding. So then we're gon na take the back section and split it in half, I'm just gon na clip the top section out of the way and then we're gon na put the bottom section into a ponytail. You don't want this to sit too low kind of up towards the part and then you're gon na tie it off with a clear elastic and then we're just gon na tease that section of hair so that it's nice and full. If your hair is pretty clean, go ahead and add some texture, spray or hairspray just to give it an extra burst of volume and then we're gon na go ahead and drop, that top section of hair tease the roots so that it's nice and full and then We'Re gon na put it in a ponytail using a clear elastic, now: pay attention right here: you're gon na pinch, a small section on each side and cinch the ponytail up you're gon na notice that the ponytail will lift a little bit and you'll get this really. Nice perky shape then we're gon na tease that section and go ahead and use as much hairspray or texture spray as you need and then we're just gon na release the front two sections that we left out earlier and finish this ponytail, so you're gon na smooth One of the sections back and while keeping the section wide give it a slight twist as you drape it over that top elastic and then wrap it around and underneath and we're just gon na use a bobby, pin or two to secure it see how, by keeping This section wide it's kind of hiding the part line and the ponytail underneath. So that's really important. Let'S see if I can get you a better angle on this next one, so you're gon na smooth the section back and give it a slight twist and then you're gon na drape it over the top elastic and underneath the elastic is where you're gon na pin It now you're, just gon na break up any curls with your fingers and lift the ponytails again by lifting the top few strands in the ponytails like we talked about earlier on the left. This is just your regular ponytail and on the right, we've got a longer and more voluminous ponytail without extensions, and there you have it a super cute and long voluminous ponytail. I hope you guys enjoyed this video in the comments below I want to know. If you have seen or tried this hack before and if you would like me to round up kind of my favorite ponytail hairstyles, so that's what I got. I love you guys so much. Please don't forget to subscribe and I'll see you in the next line. Bye. Everybody

Christina DiPinto: I love this!! Can't wait to try it!! ❤

Carol Harlow: I love this ponytail! I think my hair is finally long enough to try a ponytail. You are so clever!

Kate Craig: I prefer videos like this more than a bunch of styles in one. When I’m going back in the morning to find it, I don’t want to have to fast forward

Mary Schoen: Cute! Yes! More ponytail videos!! I’ve tried it but worry my hair won’t keep hiding the 2 different ponies.

Melissa Hutton: I tried this one when you released it in the compilation video.... my hair doesn’t hold a tease or a curl (overnight curls are an exception to that but they don’t even last all day) so you can def see the second ponytail in my hair because I can’t hide it with any textured pieces. This hack looks like it would work for people who have normal hair though. Awesome idea and I wish it worked for me.

Martha Anderson: You make learning FUN! Covering the sides is one of the great insights you bring into my day. <3

Sarah White: Your hair in the intro is absolutely gorgeous! Have you done a tutorial on that hair do before?

Sierra Ramage: K I LOVE how this looks, BUT when you move your head (my head) it shows the 2 different pony tails & it looks silly:( I have thick hair, so I don’t know how else I could hide it. But it was really obvious for me! What did I do wrong?!

Marge Borelli: Tried it and love it!

Tiffany Browder: Trying this hack tomorrow for work. thank you
