Today, we're talking about hair ties and all of the ways that you can use hair ties to solve some style: problems. Hi. Ladies, it's Erin and welcome back to my channel. My mission through my channel, to make your life simple to help make style simple so that you can look like the best version of yourself. Every day. Today, I'm going to show and share some really fun. Hair tie hacks to make your day to day a little bit simpler and to give you some ideas of how to solve some pretty common style issues.. These tips are an amalgamation from YouTube-land from YouTube-world from all of the YouTubers out there.. So I've gathered up these hair tie hacks and I'm sharing them all with you, today.. Okay, let's get started. The first hair tie hack. I want to share with you. I have actually shared in one other video., It's which one was it. I can't remember ( chuckles ). I will figure out what it is and put a link to it below.. But basically, if you have a shirt with a lot of extra fabric - and you want to tuck it into your jeans - and you want the perfect half or French tuck. - That's where you just tuck in a little piece of the front and you leave the back and The sides out. - All you have to do is gather your shirt in the front. Tie your hair tie around that excess fabric and then tuck the hair tie and the shirt into the front of the jeans. Et voila. That'S it And you have the perfect half tuck.. I love this one, this one's so good. And then it also minimizes bulk and you don't have to worry about it coming out and you don't have to worry about it. Like looking super bulky in the front., It's just the perfect half tuck.. So you want the perfect half tuck Use. The hair tie hack gather that fabric in the front tuck it into the jeans you're good to go.. The second hair tie hack for your T-shirt or your shirt or your blouse, is to create a bit of ruching.. And if you're gon na create some ruching, I would suggest creating some ruching right under the bust, which is generally the smallest or tiniest part of a woman's body.. You can either do the ruching in the middle under the bust or you could do it on. One of the sides. I happen to like a little bit off to the side more than the middle.. What I'm doing here same white T-shirt. I just grab a little bit of fabric on the inside this time instead of the outside the inside, and I really don't want to grab quite as much fabric as I did with the half tuck.. I want to grab just like an inch. That'S it. It'S really all you need. Tie your hair tie around that inch of fabric and then let it go. And you can play around with it see if you need to add more fabric to it. If you need to add less fabric to it, if you need it to be a little bit more off-center, you want it more centered., But it really does create this really cool different, unique. Look with something as simple as a white T-shirt.. I really love this effect. I think it's very flattering.. It also really transforms your T-shirt or your top or your blouse., And it is this interesting figure flattering top in detail. And it's so easy to do. Literally. Take you less than 30 seconds.. The third hair tie hack is one of my favorites and that is to keep those pesky blazer sleeves up.. You know you're always like this you're pushing up you're, pushing up you're, pushing up., And then they never stay up. They always fall down.. So what you do is you just cheat your sleeve up as far as you want it to go, you put your hair tie, probably right just either right above the elbow or right below the elbow., And then you just strategically cover up the hair tie with the Blazer. - And you don't even have to make the fold that big, the hair tie is so skinny just a little like half inch fold will cover that hair tie no problem., And you also want to make sure that hair tie is not gon na. Like cut off your circulation., So that's why I said just above the elbow or just below, because that really is the smaller part of your arm than trying to put it all the way up around your bicep, which is definitely going to be tricky and cutting off Your blood flow, which you don't want to do., I'm telling you this works, it stays up. You can dance around move around wiggle those arms and those sleeves are not going anywhere.. I love this.. The next hair tie hack is to create the perfect cuff.. So you've got your button down shirt, you've tucked it in the front.. You'Ve got your French tuck or half tuck, or maybe you tuck it in all the way around, and then you want to have the perfect cuff. And you definitely can roll it on your own, but a lot of the times. What happens when you do your cuffs is that the sleeves will slide down. Or the cuff will un-cuff, especially as you're moving around and the arms are going, and you know you're just going about your day. In order to create the perfect cuff that stays put all You need to do is tie that hair tie. Again push up the sleeves to where you want them.. I would suggest putting that hair tie just below the elbow and then folding the shirt over the hair tie., That's it.! Now, if you want to play around with it a little bit, you can fold the corners back down.. So this will help you create the perfect cuff that not only looks immaculate but also stays put and that's the important thing., Because I know you can create the perfect cuff, because I showed you how to do that in my `` 5 Styling Tips that Nobody Tells You'' video., Which I will link below and put up here., But the cuff might come un-cuffed or the arms. The sleeves might slide down as you're going about your day., So this will really make sure that it stays put.. Okay. Now, let's talk about what you can do with those hair ties for your pants and jeans.. So let's say you have a pair of either boot cut or just a wider legged jean, and you want to wear them with your cool strappy shoes.. But the problem is they don't look quite right with that shoe they're kinda they're, like the bottom of the jean, is hitting the shoe. You don't like it's not quite as elegant as you would like it to look., So you can actually take more of a straight or wider legged jean and make it tapered and create the perfect little cuff on those tapered jeans, using what The hair tie All you Do is you put your hair tie around the bottom of the jean., Where you place that hair tie depends on the length of your jeans.. In this case, these jeans are a little bit cropped.. I'M only placing that hair tie about an inch above the hemline.. Then I fold the bottom of the jean up over the hair tie, so I'm concealing the hair tie. And then I'm going to fold it once more.. I'Ve created this cool little J. Crew. Looking cuff on my jeans for a jean that is quite over-sized on the bottom., I've reduced all of that volume. Simply by using my hair, tie. Genius, I know. Another hair tie hack is to help keep those skinny jeans inside the ankle boots.. You know you like love the look., It's stream-lined. It creates a long lean line to have those dark jeans and the dark booties., But your jeans keep popping out or they keep bunching up at the booty and it's driving you crazy.. So all you do, is you put that hair tie around almost like the very bottom of the skinny jean. Put on your ankle, booties and you're done, And then the jeans will stay put.. Now it's not a perfect solution. If you're doing like squats and lunges and jumping all around, they still might cheat up a little bit. But it's going to be a lot less annoying than doing nothing.. They'Re gon na stay put a lot better than if you do absolutely nothing.. It'S really a great little trick, especially when you do wear those skinny jeans with those shorter ankle booties and you just want to make sure they don't bunch up and they do stay inside. The bootie., The last hair tie hack, I wanted to share with you guys, is probably my favorite of the bunch., And this is ideal for those of you who may be newly pregnant like three four five months pregnant., It's ideal for those of you who are like Me going through menopause and having a little bit of difficulty with weight gain around the tummy.. It'S ideal. If you're post-partum, it's ideal, if you just have gained a little bit of extra weight cause, you had too many pasta dinners., Whatever the case. You'Ve gained ten pounds and your jeans are no longer fitting.. I am in this camp and I have a lot of jeans.. So here is an example of a pair of jeans that I love by Moussy that I haven't been able to wear as of late because they are simply not comfortable.. I cannot button them.. I probably could button them if I took in a big deep breath, but then I would still, I would just feel so. Uncomfortable like it was cutting off my blood flow and there'd be skin and fat hanging over my jeans, and I just don't like that.. So here's where you can use the hair tie to help solve this problem and still wear your jeans comfortably.. All you do. Is you put that hair tie through the hole the button hole on the jean., Then you're gon na take both ends. So the end on the inside and the end on the outside and hook them on that top button.. That'S it. I know it's just like it's like too good to be true. And then, of course, you want to put your shirt over the button to conceal. What'S going on there., This is just so amazing I feel, like you know, for those of you again who're, like you're in my situation, you got all of these jeans that you love to wear, but you can't wear them because you've gained a little bit of weight And it's really depressing. Here is a work around here's a hack to help you wear those jeans comfortably, so they're not cutting off your circulation.. I hope you guys enjoyed these hair tie hacks. I sure had fun, researching and doing some digging and finding different uses for the hair ties, and there are certainly more than this ( chuckles ), But I think I rounded up just about all of the best ones for you guys.. So, thank you so much for watching. Don'T forget to subscribe to my channel hit that notification bell. If you haven't already. And I'll see you next time. Bye, (, upbeat music, )

Melissa55: Genius! Absolutely genius. Loved all of them and will be using them. Love to you, Erin! Melissa

33lorie: I call that last one the buffet hack! Thanks for all the tips, I can't wait to try them all!

Andrea Cantwell: Love the shirt ruching hack with the hair tie! Game changer for me as I have a bit of a tummy and it really defines the waist. You are such an inspiration and I look forward to all of your videos! ❤

Nancy Harris: Erin, love these tips! Especially the last one - LOL! Who knew the inexpensive hair tie could serve so many different purposes. Thanks!

MsBackstager: Time to tie one on. I use the belt loop one when pants "shrink" in the closet.

Pride In Photos BEAUTY: Great hair tie hacks Erin!! I use a few of them myself Laurie

Waynette Tamashiro: Thanks for sharing these hacks. I've been using these for over 30 years (I know showing my age) and they are still a lifesaver. If you want to add another option to ruching, put a small circular object like a plain band ring and use your hair tie to secure. Don't make it too tight. When you look at the ruching it will have a small circular ruching.

Michelle Kelly: The hair tie hack for the jeans is brilliant! I have a pair of jeans that I love, but I haven't been wearing them because they're just a little too tight when I button them up. This will solve that problem! THANK-YOU!!

Eneida Esser: Great tips. I use clear ties from Amazon for my tucks. They’re invisible.

Dragonlover: Hi Erin, hi ladies, my tip for comfortable fitting jeans is to visit the men's section. The cuts here are often wider in the waist area. It depends on the brand. I can highly recommend scotch & soda, a brand from the netherlands. Don't know, if it's available in the states. Here in germany i see it more and more. Greetings to everyone and heads up. The universe will fix all our problems.

Hampton Your House: I love your leopard print shirt in this video Erin!! Love these hair tie hacks too, so practical!! Thanks so much!! xx

Ellyn Mehan: Erin, I just wanted to compliment you, your photos on Instagram are just beautiful, I think they could be sold as art! You have grown so much in a short time, and I just wanted to say that you are beautiful inside and out.

MINDBODYSOUL: Great tips. Especially for the jeans. Will certainly have a tie or band in my purse when I go out and eat dinner from now on. Thanks again!

Laeah Glez: I have to confess I was not super excited about this video, but I’m glad I watched it because I learned something new. I have two blouses that never stay cuffed, and now I can use this hack to keep them up. Thank you Erin! The one to button the jeans I’ve been using for a while now. Figured it out on my own due to necessity when I was pregnant

Mikki39: I have been doing the belt loop one forever! Also can use a hair tie to keep your zipper from coming down. Thread it thru the hole in your zipper tab, zip up your jeans, hook the tie over the button. Like you showed to expand the waist. Works great! Thanks Erin.

Pahla B, Fitness + Life Coach: These are GREAT tips! Thank you! I especially enjoyed the B-roll, it looks like you were having a lot of fun with this one! :)

Paulina Undurraga: This video is brilliant and saves me a lot of money on tailoring! I love this. I hate clothes that look sloppy, but don't want to pay a fortune to have it tailored. Thanks Erin xoxo

SDot2385: I tried the ruching trick on a lightweight sweater that got a little stretched out. Looked super cute and gave it a better fit. Great hack!!

Glasshouse Patterns: Amazing video! This kind of creative and unique content is exactly why I love your channel! Even though I'm not in your target audience

Esmerelda Hakk: I like the last suggestion with the jeans & button hole. Sometimes I think they just put the button over too far on the jeans/pants (especially khakis) and it just makes the jeans/pants really tight to begin with, so instead of adding a second button, which I have done numerous times in the past, I can just do a quick hair tie through the button hole and done. Awesome!

S Hogo: I love the clear, invisible hair ties. You can get a pkg of a hundred for almost nothing. I keep a tiny pill bag of them in my purse always, along with fashion tape. I Do love the shirt sleeve roll- up tip. I Can’t wait to use it on those silky shirt sleeves that never stay rolled up even with the button and tab. Great tips!

Pam Ravenscroft: Thanks, Erin!! I am going to try that ruching trick - brilliant!! ❤️

Minecraft BP: Hi Erin very useful tips for one more time I have watched some of them on "5 minute crafts",but some others didn't know at all!! You are wonderful as always!! kisses from Greece

titina206: Clothing hacks are the best! I only knew the last one! I used to use it as a child and teenager when I was obsessed with a specific pair of trousers that I outgrew I’ll try the cuff one and the blazer sleeves one for sure!! I cant wait to try those with a denim jacket sleves as well. Thank you for sharing!

Sydney Bond: Well who knew a hair tie could be used for so many things. I love the t-shirt ruching idea. Because I am short too many tees are way too long. Oh I will use this one. Thanks Erin for doing the hard work on this one. I almost did not watch it because I thought is was about long hair, of which does not apply to me. :)

K J: I love it! I have used it as a button extender on my jeans, but most of the other tips are new to me. Thanks for sharing.

mssid708: Awesome hacks for hair ties!!! LOVE this!!!❤

Virtual Flower: Can't wait to try some of these. Thanks so much! :)

Prayon Kreutz: Great tips! Luv me some Erin Hacks! I have a "short wing span" & my sleeves are always to long, this will definitely come in handy!!

Maureen Hill: Going through menopause as well and I'm going to definitely use the hair tied with my jeans thank you thank you!!

ShellTay32: Love this. I have done the jean button one before. Not only because of my expanding peri-menopause tummy but also because the way I am built, jeans can fit everywhere but be tight on my waist especially in higher rise styles.

Iggs10: I just bought a blouse I really like that is way too long in the front but I like that it’s covers my backside. I tried the half tuck and it was a disaster. I’m going to try this rubber band trick. Thanks Erin! I (iggs10) also started following you a couple days ago on Instagram. You definitely have the young Cheryl Ladd vibe.

Sonya J: Fantastic bunch of tips! I was somewhat aware of a few of them, but never actually remembered to implement them. I love the ideas for the jeans in particular - those are brand-new to me. The "jeans not fitting at the waist" issue - hahah! I think probably 95% of women watching this video can relate to that :D. I've put on a couple of pounds from my ultra-lean summer weight and when I bought a bunch of jeans, and there are probably at least a few pairs where this would be a dandy hack. I definitely don't want to get rid of the jeans! Thanks for putting in the time and research for these hacks, Erin, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Susan Holl: Thanks for the great tips! I have a couple of blazers that are a little short in the sleeves so I push them up. A lot. Can't wait to try hair ties.

Robin Dusch: Love, love, love this!! Thanks Erin!

Christopher Armistead: Hi Erin nice tips like the pants you did this video was educational. Thank you Erin for a wonderful video. Love XO

Jackie Watson Fitness: I remember doing the hair tie to fasten my pants when I was in college! LOL

Diane M: Thank you for the cool tips. I have a similar one for pants tucked inward.

Gloria Pinsker Portraits: Loved this! Thanks, Erin!

Colleen Joudrey: I used the waistband trick in the first half of my pregnancies so I didn't have to buy maternity clothes right away.

Renate Paul: Thank you so much, Erin! Great content as always! Love, Renate from Germany

Barbara Basile: What a great FYI video! Thanks, Erin!

Sallie Stephens: Such great tips! Especially the 'cuff the jeans' tip. Thanks!

Marialice Morgan: Love the t-shirt hack. Going to try.

blue autumn: Thanks for these hacks. I have a lot of quite oversize shirts that i love to wear but i wish i can style it in a little bit elevated way. I love the ruching idea.

Antoinette Gorman: Hi Erin great video , your hair looks amazing, could you do a video on how you got that look thanks

Evelyn Melian-Glick: Love these tips!

K P: With the hair tie hack I cover with a belt after as I like to tuck my tops and don’t want the hair tie visible

Erin C: Wow! This was a post of mine two Friday’s ago in the Busbee Hive! The top button on my jeans hack for my Levi’s Wedgie jeans that I love but I’m so rectangularly shaped that top button digs in. Did my post inspire this video? I loved all the other hacks. Thanks Erin!

Jana's Space: Hi Beautiful Erin.love the blouse and earrings combo !.....oh yes to a hairtie on jeans to let that tummy breathe...and I was thinking if wee use a navy colored one it could look like it was fashion created from the start...ha.....thank you for these...big hug...Jana

INTOAMILLI LADY: Great hacks! Will keep them in mind!

Infinity Health Pilates: Yes I feel like “Not Your Daughter’s Jeans” should have a meno-denim that would be wider in the waist or adjustable for the thickening waist. I mean I teach Pilates and eve I struggle. My jeans fit everywhere except sometimes the waist. If I go up a size they are too big everywhere else. Why is no company doing this?

Nick Son: knew most of them but really want to try ruching come spring when tshirts just hang too big!!! you can also do it mid back when wearing a blazer/jacket for a much cleaner look (can't take that blazer off tho!!!!)

Geodi safadi: Awesome tips..i could use every single one. Thank you

Amy Conwell: Such a great video! There’s several I had never even heard of. I gained more ideas just from watching....

Heidi S: Off topic but these tricks made me think to ask for tips/tricks for dealing with a below the belly button "pooch" that I have even skinny and working out. It's not from pregnancy and it runs in my family. Shapewear helps to a degree but it's uncomfortable for every day wear. The only way my sister dealt with it was liposuction. I just want to look as good as l can in a pair of jeans without having to wear a top that covers it. Doing a partial tuck off to the side looks good sometimes, depending on the top. For business wear, I just find tops that look good untucked under a blazer. Help!?

Elisabeth Kriser: Great hacks! Thanks Erin ; ))

Litzaztil: I guess you could also use the hair tie on the back of your shirt to create a silhouette and give you the illusion of a defined waist line. What do you think?

Janis K: Thank you! I love these tips

Ardis Weight: Love these hacks!

Mary W: Mind blown! Fab hacks @busbeestyle! Thank you Erin!

Miss Pane: That's all great hacks, Erin especially the last one. U were wearing a nice animal print btw. Where did u buy it?

Laura Lopez-Reese: Great tips!!!!

Tatiana Souza: You look amazing

Anastasia Remmes: GREAT! &&&&&& I love your hair and earrings!

fernandes sylvia: How to wear an ankle length denim skirt. What type of tops or blouses will go with it?

Susiescloset73: Hi Erin! What size did you get in the Mousy Lancaster jeans? Do they run TTS? Every time I see you wearing them I am so tempted to buy them! But why oh why do they have to be so $$$.?!

A. Vega: I see you’ve linked a similar camel blazer, would it be possible to get the info for the actual blazer? I literally gasped when it first came up on the screen. Im hoping it could be tracked down online second hand. TIA!
