#curlyhaircut #cuttingcurlyhair #curlyhairroutine

Three hours later, hey everyone welcome back to the channel thanks so much for being here. Today'S video is all about curly hair. It'S one of the biggest comments. I see in my comment section on all my videos. Does this work on curly hair? What how could i cut curly hair, i struggle in the salon with cutting curly hair, so i've brought you a really simple to understand another ponytail video, but it gives you a really fat good, foundational understanding of where trav, where hair travels to and from to create A spherical haircut, so what we're going to do today is we'll be taking three ponytails one at the front, we're going to give some shape around the face and we're taking the same length all the way around, because we want to create a rounded shape, which is What we've done today and it gives beautiful shape around the face. It gives really nice sort of lift and length, and it takes away that sort of bulkiness, but also stops that triangular shape that a lot of people struggle with. So today's video is going to be quick and easy make sure you stick to the end because i'll be showing you the end result. So, as you know, i really like to explore hair cutting with ponytails. I think it gives us a really impactful, really quick way for you to understand where we need to be cut into where we need to be sectioning from, and then it gives you the final result really quickly and then you can break it down to a salon Floor technique or a more salon, flint salon floor, friendly, look um, so yeah today is the pigtail haircut with a front ponytail, because what we're going to be using this for is for shaping around the face. We could take it as long or as short as we want. This will give us either like the whole bangs long fringe, or it will give us a bit more shape. We'Re going for a bit more shape today because we're using these two pigtails to create a spherical sort of look. So if these ponytails were too far forward, you would be getting a lot more hair at the front, so you'd be taking a lot more off there. So it would end up looking a bit mullet-ish if the ponytails were too far back you'd get a bit too much weight around the front and taking a bit more length from that off of the back. So this is why we've gone for perfect symmetry on both sides, so they are both sort of just behind the ear you can see there, so you can see the ear. That'S where they're both sitting both loose like there's. Nothing really tight about these, because if we were taking sections we wouldn't be like pulling it super super tight. We would want to be taken because if we stretch curly hair, as you know, if we stretch it we'll be cutting it and it will spring back and it will look shorter. So this is why today we're working with this i'll finish, this mannequin head off really sort of curly, so you can see the whole look, but it's going to be something really really quick and easy. So, where we want to be taking this hair, is i've seen someone else? I think it was maine's by mel. She did the curly uh, i think, on her hair she's got amazing, amazing, curly hair. So i've seen this technique and people have tagged me in it to do it. So what we're going to do is, i think, i'm going to take off quite a fair bit today, i'll take off that. If you can see how much that is, we'll cut that straight up there, but i'll point cut it. So it's nice and soft again on the other side, and how am i going to get the balance once i've cut it i'll pop my comb on the band and then we'll be looking at where, where it is there and then i'll measure on the other side Here again, i think i'll probably take off. Let'S just go full symmetrical. Let'S take it all off the same length and then it's really easy for you guys to sort of see and understand, but let me just explore it quickly for you, like, i said, with the other direction coming back and through there. It'S all gaining in that middle. But what we'll get is we'll get a very spherical look, because if we were taking everything to a central point, it would then be very even all the way around, which is why we're taking it bang in the middle with these pigtails, let's make a start. So what we'll do is, let's measure it to begin with. Actually, let's just pull that ponytail in a little bit and then we'll measure, let's take off the whole comb length, so there there is the comb just there. So what i'm going to do is i'm holding the comb on the bobble there. It is there and i'm just using that comb length to cut to and i'm pulling straight out from the head right now. I'Ve got a bit of a guide, get my fingers in make a bit more stable, but we're coming straight out from the head 90 degrees from the head. But what you'll find is that top hair here is being dragged down so to create graduation, but that will create a sort of like a stronger spherical shape on top, and this is traveling up the hair. So that's as if we're layering, but because we're coming out 90 degrees, this hair is going to sit in a perfectly symmetrical state. I think i want to take more off than that. Once i've curled it and we've finished it, we'll have a look, but all i'm doing is just softening it off see there that just sits there. Let'S do this side now move over a little bit and again just going to tighten up that bubble a bit. I'M going to put the cone there on the bobble hold the comb steady turn around, so you can see there and then just start cutting to that cone and i've got a guide, see my guide there. So, what's coming off around about what one two three four inches texturizing just to soften off, i'm going to be using a new tool by alpha italia, i'll be using their interchangeable tong and the really thin sort of wand end of it. And do this really really tight, so you can see it so you can see it really tightly curled there we go. That'S the pigtails cut. You can see they're symmetrically balanced now this top piece we're going to elevate up, because this is going to create softness. Tighten that to the head a bit more, we'll then pop my comb underneath rest, the hair on the comb turn there. So you can see so by the bottom of the comb on the bobble rest that hair on the comb there we go, there's a guide and i'm just going to follow that through texturizing as well. This is also a great way i mean i'm saying for curly hair. This is also a really cool look for straight hair as well. This mannequin's got straight hair, but the way i just want to curl it. I want to show you how it's going to sit symmetric spherically, so it's like that, but let's just pull these bubbles out, pull this out here and from the front now what we can see is we've got a really nice balanced haircut at that front. So if we flip that open there really nice shape there just sort of starting around about the jaw and then because of where these these sort of ponytails were sitting, we've got that layer through there that continues through there looking at the back get that out. So you can see just how really nicely blended it is, but we have got some layering going on in there sitting there. So what this will do when we're going to curl it, it's all going to lift up, and you can already see see there how it's there and it just curves around same with the sides. If we were just to open that up got the shortness there and it just curves around so that's so that's a rounded layer, and this is what we're going to achieve when we do this technique in salon, how i would have done it. I'D have found my guide say from the middle. I'D have then started here, cut cut cut and then this front piece would have over directed back over directed back to that point, i'm going to drop that i'll then get that middle point again. So forget about that front piece here is my guide and then we'll get this back piece and i'll bring it to this guide. So this haircut is a stationary guide. Haircut, stationary guide the guide doesn't move a moving guide. The guide moves so, if we're doing a moving guide, so that's our guide pick up this section and our guide moves to that section. That section we we took. First, we drop it out. We get our guide, we just cut and then the next piece and our guide moves to that piece. So then we start to move around the head to create that, but i'm gon na get this code and i'll bring it to you in a minute. Three hours later george fits the result, guys super cool. So this was the two pigtail haircuts cut like that, but obviously textured, because we don't want any hard edges and then that ponytail brought up but cut to the length of my comb here and here, and it gives you that beautiful spherical shape. So that's it. I mean if you've got curly hair, ringlet hair. This is what it's going to look like when you scrunch dry, it diffuse it. Let it dry naturally, but i am going to tease this out just to give a really nice sort of aesthetic look to it. A little bit avant-garde a little bit sort of bigger, but we're going to get a wide tooth comb in brush it all out and just make it look really big, so you guys can see the overall shape. So that's it guys. That is the finished result. Uh! That'S it all sort of brushed out and just created a lot of texture in there someone's got naturally curly hair. This is what they sort of contend with on a daily basis, but a lot of the time with haircuts they can find. It sits quite triangular, as you can see from this you've got that beautiful spherical shape i'll just move out the way. So you can see that and the tool i used was this the alpha italia. I don't know what it is called. It'S called, but it's their wand, but it's their interchangeable one, so they've got different. Uh whips and they've got the sort of clamp tongs the ones and all that. So that's what i used to create this just to give you an impression of really tight curled hair, a bit like a chopstick sort of styler, but i wanted to bring it to you to show you that is the shape that we can get just from doing. Two pigtails and that ponytail at the front. So if we were in salon like i said in the video - and i showed you i'll just recap it - you would over direct this to sort of just behind the ear. You'D owe the direct or under direct, where, whatever it may be, to um, just behind the ear so you'd be put you'd be pushing to there you'd be pulling to there. You'D cut it off in either blunt textured, whatever you want to do, use a razor and then we use that front piece pulled it up, and then we cut that at that angle, using the length of the comb to give you this sort of shape around the Face but i just think it's so cool, so quick and easy, and i just wanted to bring you again another video just to show you how simple it is to cut curly hair people tend to over complicate it. But if you understand where hair travels to and from and elevates to, then you'll just be a salon winner, so there we go guys. Let me know in the comments down below of what you think, i'd love to hear about this one, because the actual styling took me longer than the haircut today. So let me know what you think in the comments down below. Thank you so much for always joining the channel and engaging liking. Commenting sharing the videos um plan is 100k. This year, let's hit 100k. I am 54 000 subscribers deep now, so i'm just i'm over the i'm over halfway, so uh yeah fingers crossed let's get there. But as always, i appreciate you all watching this video, i hope you've loved it and i look forward to bringing you the next one. So i'll see you on the next video

Tiff & Bri: I’ve natural curly hair and I just did this cut last night and it came out awesome!

Glam Girl Gabi: Oh my gosh this was AWESOME! I am SO TERRIFIED to cut with ponytails. I have never in my entire career done it. I love how rounded and soft this entire look is. What a fantastic job you did! Thank you for showing us. That triangle curly hair is always such a big issue.

Iowa Sunshine: I love your techniques! As a curly haired hairstylist I have always cut my own hair and I just did this after finding this video tonight on my own hair and absolutely love it! I didn’t go as short as I wanted to just to test it out but maybe over time! Thank you for making it super simple!

Anna Kate: Okay, this video just changed my life. I’ve been cutting my own hair for three years but always eyeballing it. This just SIGNIFICANTLY shortened the process! Thank you!!

Timary Lee Photography: Love the cut but as a curly girl, I about DIED when you brushed through those beautiful curls... :-/

Victoria C Yocum: I was hoping to see you cut naturally curly hair like the title states. But I love the cutting technique and the way you curled it! Beautiful!

Angel Catholic: OMG!!! I cut my curly hair (well, wig) for the first time ever!!!! This video is AMAZING!!! Very easy to follow. Thanks for getting rid of my "triangle shape"!

Dee Silver: This video and the blunt cut bon was what I did to achieve the shape I wanted. Finally!!!!!! I’ve been going to several hair dressers and although the results were good it wasn’t what I wanted. I don’t think I’ll ever go to a hairdresser LOL. Thank you so much!!!!

Talon F.: You explain the directions in a very easy to understand way, thank you!

Granny T: Excellent! My daughter always complains her hair is always going in a triangle. I will send this to her to show her stylist to get what she wants. She has curly/wavy hair just like the end result.

Monica Aguilar: Thank you Paul!! I've been waiting for this video! Already did the wolf cut and loved it. Will now try this one

Klaracica: ❤ I just cut my hair like this, genius! You should see it,love it! Thank you

Sophia Stevens: I have cut my own short curly hair for years. This is a game hanger! Thank you - love it!

Girly Girl: I love how you explain everything! Lovely final result too! Thank you!

Brigitte Saunders: I find myself with a real hair challenge, I didn't expect to have at 73. For years I had poker straight hair. Worked in hair, kept it short. Cut my own hair into some fun cuts for the time. Decided three years ago I had enough of cropped hair. I could train my hair anyway I wanted, but three years ago, it gave me trouble. So I grew it out. What a shock when it grew to a certain length. It's got wave, not a strong one but the kinks are there. Some straight ones on one side, but even that isn't entirely straight. When I use a diffuser, I get soft curl. My cutting techniques are good on someone else's, but a pain trying to do the back section. Seeing this method of cutting hair can make cutting my own sooo much easier. I did do a layer cut, (not short). I hope to see more simple cuts with just a gentle wave to best bring it out. My hair is just scraping the shoulder. I find that to be the best length for my face shape at 73.

Elsa Ville: Hi Paul - thanks so much for posting this - I absolutely love it - and the little bit of combing out is great - just gives it more of an edgy look. The only positive thing I can say about my stupid long, thick, wirey, frizzy, slightly greying hair is that it'll be very good for scaring the local children at Halloween.‍♀But, after seeing your video, I'm a little bit terrified because I'm inspired to run off and do the chop right now! I'm going to try a longer length version so I can hopefully still put it up sometimes during our hot, humid Australian summer. (After that - this is a secret hair colour hack - I'm going to steal some of my husband's 'Restoria shampoo-in-colour for men'. It's meant to colour the hair gradually over several shampoos, but 'ain't nobody got time for that' so I've found if I throw it straight onto my hair without shampooing, and just roughly pull it through, it gives a bit of a nice balayagey look - brown with a few silver bits flowing though - and the colour stays in for a few weeks - AND it's heaps cheaper than women's hair colour products!). Now where are my scissors?...✂

Ana Patterson: I have cut my own curly hair for years. All with various results. I think this style is a winner!! I cannot wait to do it at home today!

eyes.of.the.divine: LOVED THIS! It's to the point, easy to understand, and the result is GORGEOUS!

Elena Rotestan: Yes please, add more curly hair cuts ✂️

Solani: I love it. I cut my daughter's curly hair and it looks fabulous . thanks for the video

Anthea Krieger: I have short, wavy, curly hair and hairdresser always end up cutting my hair and it ends up being gross triangle shape!! So I tried this method not cutting too much, but I will say that I finally got a round shape!! Definitely will be trying this out again!! Thank you!!

Palma Trotta: I’ve been looking for something to show my hair dresser. Thank you !❤

Tamar F: Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed. You explained it so simply and I can’t wait to try it! I just subscribed to your channel!

Farm Direct Hay: WOW!! Since I have let my hair go gray it has become curlier I love my gray hair but had that triangle look. I did your 3 pony only cut 1 1/2 “ off ! What a difference ❤️. I also cut my hair dry! Thank you so much

Belinda Marie: Thank you!! I will use this method to cut my own hair next time. I use to go to a really great salon in nyc..and then the Pandemic hit and the Roosevelt Hotel closed (where it was located) down and the salon closed. I live in CT and the stylist here cannot seem to cut my extremely baby fine curly hair. The last two places I tried cut way too much of my hair...even after I brought in photo. She pretty much ignored me and gave me a bob with the the nape cut short. I'm still trying to get that nape to grow back and blend with my longer hair. I almost had it and then the second place I went after months of growing it out..cut it short again in the back when I asked for long layers only at the ends...and neither of these stylist point cut at all..like my stylist in nyc use to cut my hair. S nowo my hair is all box shaped and weird looking and doesn't fall as the stylist in this video speaks of which is so nice on curly hair. You would think all stylist know how to and at least ask you if you want point cutting or texturizing done to your hair...as it makes a huge difference in how your hair falls. Thanks again for this easy way to cut your own hair if necessary.

Mia Does It: I’m doing this!!! I’m so traumatized from my many terrible haircuts so I’m avoiding the salon.

Sugar Pig: This is why day one is always Monday, so my hair is weekend ready at the end of the week! Thank you for the tutorial, I’m trying it today!

Alyssa Settelmeyer: Hey Love this, makes so much sense! I have been chewing through your videos, love how precisely you can explain stuff! I'm still too chicken to cut my own hair ‍♀️ Question: what do you call something halfway between this spherical cut and a shag cut? I feel like this is my missing peice. As a curly/wavy girl I don't get good haircuts. (I live in a not so diverse area, I have 2c/3a hair and when I walk in salons I watch stylist frantically check their schedule) I have tried lingo and I always bring *3* pics(I have been told any more is overwhelming). What other advice do you have about talking to your stylist?

just__moa: Thank you so much. Very well explained. Quick and easy. I dit it and i love it.

Marolain: Thank you!!! I love this haircut! I’m going to try it soon

Misty Morrison: Definitely going to try this. Once he curled it, it looked exactly like the super layered look I’m going for.

Kimberly Sue Iverson - Author: Oooh I like this. Good timing too. My hair is naturally pretty wavy and having it to waist has been a pain so I've been thinking of choppin (always do my own hair). When I lighten it up on the ends (cut), the spiral waves come out versus large waves with the long. Been looking at haircuts like this. Good timing.

Mireya Domínguez Piris: You are amazing!!! I have just done and it is lovely, a sexy volume like the 90s ( Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman). I have just one question, how can we control more the cut of the length? In my case, the long of the layer is perfect but the length of my hair is quite shorter than I would like. Thank you so much

Lorraine: Who else watched this then went straight to washing & cutting! I’m off to do just that… ‍♀️

Bella Angelic: Me ha encantado los cortes de cabello rizado, se ven muy fáciles de hacer, felicidades!!

Zara Soleil: This looks great and mine is frizzy too so it’ll look awesome and messy like this final result I’ve got to cut my hair today!

AnnaLorenza: Wow, I can't believe I found your channel! I've been looking for a DIY simple cut for curly hair, but much shorter... can I apply this technique? How short can I go?

euphoricrecall: Looks amazing

Rosie Galati: Awesome video! Game changer for sure. Easy “do it yourself “ guide! Thank u so much for sharing!,

elizabeth theriot: Paul I watched Mel's video and then I came across yours....... Got out of my chair and went straight to get my hair scissors ✂️ I have been cutting my hair since it grew back with beautiful curls (like when I was a child) from illness about 4 years ago. In the past I did follow a lot of Mel's tips (really love her). I like the way you did 3 ponytails and your instructions were spot on!! This is the first time I dry cut. Came out great Thank you so much. God bless from Louisiana USA

Lesley W: Thank you for the video. A really excellent tutorial. I look like that in the morning if I go to bed with damp hair :))

Ileidis Martinez: Thank you! Loved this.

Marie blanche Ruggiu: J'ai testé votre technique sur mes cheveux bouclés, ça marche super bien, mon dégradé est mieux que celui de chez mon coiffeur, je sais ce qu'il me reste à faire dorénavant ! merci beaucoup

Angeline: I love it I'm gonna do this since my hair is long enough it's like in armpit level haha

Diana Villabella: Super super easy. Thank you for sharing, I will do by myself.

Rena Phillips: I was gonna go to a salon but the prices are so crazy for a curly cut gonna give this a try

Patti Prosperoella: Great cut! I may just do this.

Taylor Ware: Sooooo informative and simple thank you

Erin Kelley: I just did this cut and I love it

🫧 THE REAL BUBBLE GIRL 🫧: Love this so much, #PaulWattsHair I am going to try and do this myself tomorrow. Please wish me luck!

Stacy Bradshaw: Q: What do I if I typically part my hair on the left? Do I still follow this exact method?

Sarah: Wow this is the best one! - nevermi d I just did it and had to cut my hair into a short Bob because it came out so horrible.

Luna Lunera: Please keep making more videos to cut wavy hair in different cuts as there are no videos on YouTube. Thank you. P.D. Personally, I didn't like this specific cut, it looks too messed up for my taste, that is, it looks unstylised, it looks as if the person had gotten out of bed and simply didn't comb their hair.

etherius moon: I wonder if another ponytail could go in the back for more layers? I wanna try this but with shorter layers on the back like on the sides. Other than that the cut looks great and I would cut the front shorter for my bangs too :)

M Wall on the Run: What’s are some good scissors options for at home curly hair cutting? I want to try this cut but I’m a little afraid I won’t be able to put my hair up in a pony when it starts to get on my nerves I have 3c/3b hair but it’s very fine Strands that are kinky frizzy. Similar curl pattern to Kenny G.

Sarah S.: Just in time! Thank you! Question though...Should I be Cutting my hair when it's wet or dry? Thanks agaIn

lucero del rocio benavides: Wuuuooo!! Queda hermoso *-*

Frieda muljono: Unique and easy technique ...anxious try this ..Thanks for sharing ❤

Joan B.: love this. thank you Paul.

Suzanne Watts: Looks lovely Paul. X

Valeriein3D: Gorgeous, it's difficult to describe this to stylists a lot of the time. I guess the word to be used is spherical! ty.

Martha Reyes: I like the easy way you cut the hair, I had been doing mine for a while but the technique that you use will make me do it better at home, just I'd lwish to see some easy cuts for my mediun length hair

C. L.: ❤️❤️❤️Thank you!! Needed that kind of tutorial.

Bloki en Casa: brilliant!! I'll give it a try and see what happens. thank you very much!

Melissa Andrews: Thank you ! I have curly hair, too!

bellakabello: por favor subtitulado en español grasias me encanta este canal muy bien explicado

Brooklyn 66: Can't wait to try this!!!

stargwynn1: Please don’t texturize textured hair!!! It destroys the curl pattern for years

Claudia Ma. Saavedra: ¡Beatiful!

Amal London: Amazing, you make life really easy, bless you

Karen Docherty: Absolutely brilliant video ❤

KBStrong: Love It‼️

LAS PACES: fabulous, thanks!!!!

kathy mello: LOL....you combed it out and it looked just like mine when I start every day. I am cutting today....against my better judgement. Unlike your bobble headed doll, mine actually grows back. I have been doing the one pony in front for the last 3 years and get compliments whether I straighten (which leaves amazing feathered layers, and I mean my whole head is perfectly layered when straightened), or style it naturally curly. So I hope this works, because if not I will go back to one pony cut. Thanks for the inspiration.

Amore Estivo: Paul Watts, if I were to move the two side ponytails up higher, say about half the distance to the top ponytail in this video, would that decrease the space between the layers?

Ophelia Whiteway: Love it!!!

M.A. C.: Can you please explain the position of the side pony tails, kinda confused.. for more hair towards the face; would you pull pony tail further back or pull forward?

Mark Montoya II: Does this technique work with straight hair or slightly wavy

M.A. C.: Love it!!

Suzanne Watts: Love it Paul xx

Blanca Ruth Esponda: Ladies and gentlemen, behold my next hair cut...

Sivan Pery Shihmanter: I'm going to try it!

Arthur Gaboyan: Very nice. Thank you

Jodie: Can you do this cut on wet hair?

H C: Oh hell yessss! THANK YOU! So much love from Texas

Mary Ferreira: Love the video and your voice thank your

vubear: Banging haircut man. I’m going to do it on myself.

Monique Dekker: He's a good teacher! Love this cut! I actually pay attention!

Jenna Geuder: Just did it. I like, thanks!

Michelle: What if I want long length with sipherical shape around head? My hair goes down to the middle of my back(curly) and I love it long. I keep going to stylist who keep giving me a v shape.

Carol Lewis: Gorgeous

Ya So: Should i cut my curls wet or dry? Amazing teqnique!

Mónica Ochoa: for this cut, my hair needs to be dry or wet?

clmtdmmjcm M: Love this!!!

Tiny Dawg: After you cut the ponytails and you were going through it showing how you would have cut it in a 'salon cut' was it as even as IF you would have cut with a moving marker? One thing I don't understand even when I saw it on manes by mel, with the side ponytails wouldn't they be uneven? Wouldn't the hair in the center of the ponytail be shorter since it's coming right out of that center point and the hair around it longer? Do you know what I'm saying?

Eva: Wow, thank you!! Many greetings from Germany‍♀️

Raquel silva andrade: Eu vou realizar esse corte no meu cabelo.

rachna mittal: Love it.

Ashes, Ashes: I had no idea The Edge was cutting hair now. And he's good, too!

Maria Myre: Best haircut ever ❣️❣️❣️
