How To Wrap Natural Hair & Keep It Straight Longer | Natural Hair

Hey guys, what's up before I get started on this video, I just wanted to show a clip of my recent flat iron routine that I posted not too long ago. These very sleek looks, and I wanted to show you how much my hair has grown since my flat iron routine. In 2013, so the way that I keep my edges sleek and straight is by keeping them wrapped in a satin scarf. Whenever I'm lounging around the house, I don't wrap all of it up so that it can breathe, but keeping the edges tied down, make sure that they stay straight. Now, I'm going to take my paddle brush and get any kinks out. I just want to make sure it's all detangled and smooth, so there are no dents when I unwrap it the next day. Next, I'm going to brush all of the hair in the front of my head towards my face. I'M going to get rid of that part, and this is going to make sure that I don't wake up with a sore scalp and so that I don't get a permanent part in my hair. Now I'm going to separate my hair close to my ear, I'm just going to brush my hair around my head in a circular motion, and this is going to keep my hair, nice and smooth, and it's going to also keep my ends intact. I use bobby pins to hold my hair in place so that it doesn't fall out of the rat, because how annoying is that? And then I just continue to wrap my hair and take bobby pins to secure the hair, and this is pretty simple, but it does take some getting used to just practice on your hair and the more you do. This circular motion the easier it will get but bobby pins definitely helped me and they still helped me. I still use them. So there's no shame in my game to keep my hair in place. I use this wrap that I got from Sally's. It has velcro on either end so that it stays secure, especially when I sleep, I just wrap it in a circular motion, the same exact way. I wrapped in my hair to reinforce the wrap once I've velcro it. I do like to give it a couple of twists to once again reinforce that wrap and then, after that, I'll just wrap it with my normal satin or silk scarf. So it is very important to wrap your hair when it's straight, because our hair is not usually straight, it is a lot more vulnerable and it easily can snag on any cotton sheets or pillowcases. For me, I know I've woken up in the middle of the night and my hair has been completely out of its wrap so for extra protection. I'D like to take another satin or silk scarf and wrap that over. My second one - and this also helps before you shower, so that your hair does not river back so now that I'm looking all cute and attractive, I am ready for bed or ready for a shower.
